Chapter 6:
[Eternal Conflict]
Part-2

“Auntie, are you sure it will even listen to us?” Princess Cadance asked her older aunt as she trotted alongside Twilight and her friends in a cave. The regal sisters walking at the front, while Shining Armor and five guards were at the back. The rest of the guards stayed back at the mining camp while Celestia, used a teleportation spell to get the group to the dragon’s cave.

After a total of fifteen minutes of searching the mining camp, the group noticed lots of smoke coming out of a cave inside one of the many mountains around them. The princesses knew that it could be a dragon, so they decided to go there and try to get some information from the Giant lizard....if it was willing to give them any.

Celestia looked back at her niece and smiled, “No, but I’m sure either Fluttershy or Spike can reason with it.” At that, Fluttershy shivered a bit as she didn’t like being in the presence of a giant dragon. Spike, on the other hoof, was dead silent as he sat on Twilight’s back. What he saw back at the mining camp had traumatized him. He wasn’t supposed to see these kinds of things at such a young age.

Many moments later, the group finally reached the end of the cave and gulped as they saw the sleeping dragon, curled up into a ball with lots of jewellery around it(Rarity gasped in awe at that), snoring. The main six were surprised to see the same dragon who used to sleep back in Equestria, which Fluttershy managed to use the Stare on to make him leave Equestria for another place to sleep.

Shining Armor, along with his five comrades, rushed forward and formed a defensive shield in front of the others, not wanting the Elements of Harmony or the regal mares to be harmed. Princess Luna cleared her throat rather loudly; that was enough to awaken the red dragon, as his yellow lizard eyes opened, looking down on the ponies. The dragon stood up, stretched his body, and yawned loudly, scratching his belly afterward.

The dragon then looked down at the group and glared upon seeing the rainbow pony again. Rainbow Dash glared back and unfolded her wings, taking a battle stance. The dragon scuffed, “What are you ponies doing in my cave? Do you want me to leave again?” the dragon asked angrily.

Princess Celestia shook her head and cleared her throat. “No, not at all. As you might already know, I am Princess Celestia, and this is my sister Luna,” she said, pointing at her sister beside her, who nodded with a blank face. Celestia continued, “We are here to ask you about something that has been going on recently in our land, and it would be very much appreciated if you could tell us what we need.”

“Let me guess, you’re here to ask about what happened to the Diamond dogs in that mining camp?” Princess Celestia smiled and nodded, knowing that this dragon knows something about the murderous Alicorn. “I did not have anything to do with that,” he protested, crossing his arms.

“We know, we heard about a male alicorn in green and brown armor who is responsible for these massacres. We just want to know if thou hast any information about him,” Princess Luna stepped into the conversation.

The dragon smiled at the mention of the alicorn warrior, but then glared down at the group. “What makes you think that I would say anything about him to you?” The ponies backed away a bit as they looked up at the angry face of the red dragon. Except Rainbow dash, who flew up into the dragon’s face.

“Listen here, buckhead, you better give the princesses what they want, or else you and I are going to have lots of problems!” RD said as she glared at the dragon while hovering above his head. The dragon roared, causing the group to back away and RD retreat behind Fluttershy, shivering violently.

Rainbow dash nudged Fluttershy forward while shivering. The shy mare looked back at her friends, who nodded at her with weak, afraid smiles on their faces. Fluttershy gulped and slowly made her way closer to the dragon. The giant lizard looked down at the timid pony and recognized her. “Um, s-sorry, Mr. D-dr-dragon, but we ju-st want to find a-and see if we can befriend him, so p-please tell us what you know about him,” Fluttershy said softly, her voice and body shaking in fear.

The dragon looked down at her and sighed, unable to say no to her. He cleared his throat and began explaining what he knew about the Slayer. “I was just standing at the top of this mountain, looking around at the sky when I suddenly heard a disturbance coming from the nearby mining camp. When I looked at the place more closely, I recognized a bunch of Diamond Dogs fighting a fierce and strong Alicorn, donned in green and brown armor.” The dragon paused to get some air.

“He was... Strong, agile, and merciless. I watched as the Alicorn ripped and tore the dogs apart with ease, not letting a single one even touch him. And the interesting part was that he did all of that using his hooves, not even using his magic once,” the dragon said. The ponies all looked at him with surprise and fear, unable to believe that the Alicorn had done all that horrible stuff to the Diamond Dogs using his hooves.

The dragon continued, “After the fight ended, I flew down there and approached him. I looked down on his helmet’s visor; nothing was visible. I spoke to him, but he didn’t say a single word.” The dragon finished.

Princess Celestia asked him her question, “Did you... Get to see anything unique about his natural appearance? Like his cutie mark?” She asked. The red dragon thought about it for a moment.

“All of his body, except his front forehooves (biceps), were covered in his suit. He had a tan-colored coat and a brown tail, but still, there was a special insignia painted red and small on his helmet; it was unknown to me.” This caught their attention. The dragon put his index claw in his mouth, breathed on it, and brought it out, setting it on fire. He then scratched his flaming claw against the wall of his cave, carving the Slayer’s insignia with flames.

When he finished, the ponies walked up to the wall to get a better look at the flaming carvings, examining the mysterious insignia with fear and curiosity. Twilight opened her history book and began looking through it for the insignia.

The dragon grinned and looked down at the princesses. “What is it, scared? Are you sure you want to confront him?” He chuckled while crossing his arms. The princess of the sun looked up at the dragon with determination and nodded; she was the princess of the sun, and she was sure that she could take care of the murderous warrior as long as she had her sister and the elements.

(A/N: only Doom players know how terribly wrong she is...right guys?)

Chrysalis groaned in pain as she stood on shaky hooves, using her magic to do who knows what to an empty changeling cocoon. Pharynx was standing next to her with a grin on his muzzle. He taught Chrysalis how to use the ancient magic to bring back her subjects; apparently, she managed to bring back only a hundred changelings to life.

You might ask what it cost her, right? Well, in that case, if you looked at her closely, you could see her facial appearance was altered and... Shriveled; she looked older. The more she brought back to life, the older she grew.

King Sombra could use this spell without any problems because he was immortal and drained by darkness, but Chrysalis was a normal being... A mortal.

The queen crashed onto the ground, breathing heavily as she stopped her magic. Pharynx walked up to her and looked down at the exhausted queen. “Do you need anything?” he said, not bothering to respect the now old queen. She glared up at him and stood up again, balancing on shaky hooves.

“Wh-what have you d-done?” the queen growled in anger and pain as she stood up. Pharynx looked at Chrysalis with surprise.

“Me? I told you it was risky; don’t blame it all on me,” Pharynx protested in anger, treating the weak queen like she used to treat him.

The old Chrysalis trotted towards her throne and sat on it. “Y-you didn’t s-say I would lose my powers,” the queen argued through clenched teeth. Pharynx chuckled and started trotting around the throne.

“(Laugh) Oh my queen, you growing old is nothing compared to the horrors the spell can unleash,” he said, causing the queen to look at him with suspicion. “I actually thought you would doom us all by resurrecting the first few changelings. I’m impressed!” he finished.

He laughed and trotted towards the stairs that led to the lower parts of the cave. But before he descended the stairs, he looked over his shoulder, staring at the queen with hate in his purple eyes. “You’re lucky he was the first you brought back,” he growled, remembering his brother.

And with that, he looked forward and descended the stairs, going to look after the wounded.

Chrysalis glared, clenching her fangs in anger as she smashed her right hoof on the hoofrest of her throne, cracking it.

Celestia’s blazing sun glared down on the sandy floor of the badlands. The air was hot, and water was scarce but not impossible to find. A small river could be seen, with many trees around it—a perfect source of water for all sorts of creatures and the perfect place for predators to find their meal.

A horrified, masculine scream of pain was heard, along with the sound of blood splashing and decapitation. Head of a cream coloured stallion was dropped to the ground right in front of us, his blood gushing out from his neck, having a horrified expression on his face.

Seconds later, the head was engulfed in a green flame, changing back into the head of a changeling. The changeling’s mouth and eyes began twitching.

It wasn’t long before a massive armored hoof stepped on the changeling’s head, crushing it with green blood splattering everywhere. Our badass protagonist looked around. Numerous changeling corpses were scattered everywhere, mutilated in unimaginable ways.

Doomslayer looked to his right, seeing a group of changelings looking at him with fear while cowering against a tree. Three females, one male. The Slayer slowly trotted towards the group. The male changeling stepped between Doomslayer and the females, not wanting the Slayer to kill them. “P-ple-ase do-nt h-hurt us” the male insect-horse pleaded with his voice cracking.

The Slayer closed the gap between him and the changelings. When he was close enough, he stopped and looked down at the male drone, who was shivering in fear of what was about to come, looking up at the armored Alicorn with horror. Doomslayer grabbed the drone by the neck with his right armored hoof and picked him off the ground. The females hugged each other in fear. The male changeling struggled in the Slayer’s grasp, trying hard to free himself while staring into Doomslayer’s visor.

“P-ple-ase, n-n-o, (gasp) d-don’t, I, n-not a-ag-ain,” the drone pleaded as his eyes began to water for his second chance at life, squirming and gasping for air. The Slayer was standing on his hind legs and had the changeling in his right front hoof. He slowly brought his left hoof up and revealed his doom blade. The drone looked at the sharp weapon in fear, remembering that it was the same weapon the alicorn used to kill him—his doom.

Doomguy looked at the drone with hate and was about to rip it into pieces until he felt something tugging on his left hind leg boot. The Slayer looked down and saw something he couldn’t believe. “Ugh, let him go, y-you big meanie,” a feminine voice said, belonging to a small, teen changeling who was trying to stop the Doom Slayer from hurting her friend.

The changeling looked up at the Slayer with a glare, but her eyes were wet with tears. “STOP, I’m not letting you hurt him,” she said with determination, yet her voice was shaking.

The Slayer was impressed. In all his life as a demon-killing, godlike machine, all his foes had feared him. His presence used to send shivers down the spines of the largest demons. Yet, this little changeling drone, while afraid, was doing all she could to stop him—not to save her own life, but to save her friend.

The Slayer looked back at the male drone and saw him slowly passing out. He gritted his teeth beneath his helmet and growled in frustration as he let go of the changeling.

The male drone dropped to the ground, clutching his neck with his hoof and breathing heavily. The little drone ran up to him and hugged him tightly, crying into his shoulder.

A few minutes passed, and the male drone looked up at the Slayer, who was looking somewhere else and had his back to the drone. The changeling patted the little one on her head and stood up on all four hooves, addressing the Slayer, “Um, s-sir, excuse m-me, but I wa-nted to tell you some-thing.” The Slayer heard what the drone said but stood still without doing or saying anything. “I-its ab-out the ponies.” This caught the Slayer’s attention as he looked over his shoulder. The drone gulped and decided to do the right thing.

“The queen is keeping them in that mountain over there,” the male changeling confessed as he pointed his hoof towards the largest and tallest mountain around them, which was a bit far. “What you need to know is that the queen has corrupted my race; she rules over us and leads us into corruption, making us steal love from other creatures. But I don’t want to do it,” he said sadly. “I want to share love, not steal it, and I’m sure that the other changelings have this deep in their hearts,” he said as he looked at the corpses of his fellow changelings, his eyes watering at the scene.

“Please, I’m begging you, stop killing them. It’s not fair to punish those who are not to blame; it’s the queen’s fault that we are so lost. Please,” the resurrected Thorax said as he dropped to the ground in tears. The other three changelings came up to him and hugged him tightly while crying.

The Slayer looked at the group with a blank face. He decided to leave them be and go put an end to this changeling drama. So, he super jumped up and flew his way towards the mountain, all the while thinking about how this changeling queen reminded him of the Kahn Maykr: arrogant, selfish, and always hungry for more power. The only difference was that the Kahn Maykr actually cared about Urdak and her people, unlike Chrysalis.

’Feeling it, Queen? Doom Is coming’.
