//-------------------------------------------------------// Lord Obscuror -by Echo Streak- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The prophecy //-------------------------------------------------------// The prophecy Deep within a cave, hidden in the frozen north, a lone figure stood in front of a blazing fire. The chill of the icy winds that howled outside seemed to have no effect on him. The cloaked pony, draped in dark robes that billowed around him like the night sky itself, stood with his head slightly bowed. His glowing red eyes pierced the darkness around him, narrowing as he spoke in a low, ominous tone. "So the Elements of Harmony have returned once again. How interesting," he muttered, a cruel smile creeping across his hidden face. "I sense... new opportunities." His words hung in the air, as if the cave itself was listening. The flickering flames of the fire reflected off the jagged walls, casting strange shadows across the stone. The air was thick with a sense of foreboding, as though something ancient and powerful had been awakened. The cloaked pony’s voice grew quieter, filled with malice, as he continued. "Too long I have been without an apprentice. But that will change soon enough." Just as he spoke these words, an unnatural wind swept through the cave, rushing past him and causing the fire to flicker and wane. The figure’s hooves shifted beneath him as if the very fabric of reality itself had been twisted. He looked around in confusion, his hood remaining securely in place. Before he could gather his bearings, the air shifted once again, and the world around him transformed. In the blink of an eye, the cloaked figure found himself standing in a ruined village. The walls of nearby houses were crumbled, charred by fire, and the scent of smoke lingered in the air. The streets were empty, save for the sounds of distant cries, faint and fleeting. He gazed around, his red eyes narrowing further as he realized he wasn’t alone. He could sense the presence of others nearby, locked in a struggle. Red clashes with blue, sister against sister. The two pegasi became distorted, however their voices reach him clearly, "YOU ABANDONED ME!" the smaller pegasus screams, swinging her red magiscaber in a wide arc, towards the older pegasus, who swiftly dodges it. The older pegasus shouted a name, which became distorted, "sCo**A*0O, snap out of it!" "DON'T CALL ME THAT!" the younger pegasus shrieked, lunging against her foe. Meanwhile, the cloaked figure chuckles, "These two pegasi hold a strong connection..." Suddenly the scene grew darker as an unknown voice spoke over the scene, In the skies where storms once soared, two wings shall clash, both fierce and bright. One, a fiery spirit with speed unmatched, the other, a heart eager to follow. Their bond, forged in the winds of youth, will be tested by the winds of fate. One shall rise in the shadow, their heart darkened by pride and ambition, while the other will shine with the light of truth and justice. Yet, the sky is fickle, and the winds demand a price. Only one can remain aloft; the other must fall, their wings torn by the very winds that once carried them high. In the end, only one shall soar, and the other’s light will be snuffed out, swallowed by the storm they once called their own. The cloaked figure suddenly found himself in the cave, once again. Upon the walls of the cave, the words of the unknown voice were etched. "A prophecy... How intriguing" the cloaked pony stated, rubbing his chin, his dark blue hoof barely showing itself. "Those two pegasi are the key to my plans. One will become my next apprentice... and when they do... I, Lord Obscuror will have the ultimate power!" Lord Obscuror then walked over to a cauldron, closing his eyes he muttered words in the old Tartarus tongue, and a deep blue fire appeared in front , "Yes... I thought the older pegasus seemed familiar..." Lord Obscuror then began to chuckle sinisterly, "How ironic, the most loyal has the potential to become the biggest traitor since Nightmare Moon." Lord Obscuror reached into his cloak and pulled out a small device, which he activated. The faint hum of technology filled the air, and a hologram flickered to life in front of him. The figure that appeared was cloaked in shadows, but a large unicorn horn protruded from beneath the hood, signaling the true identity of this mysterious pony. "Lord Imperius," Obscuror said, his tone cold, almost mocking. "I get the feeling that you are displeased from seeing me?" The figure in the hologram stiffened, but the response came quickly. "N-Never, master," the unicorn stammered, clearly attempting to mask his discomfort. Obscuror's voice took on a threatening edge. "Perhaps it is against your status to be answering to a mere pegasus." The figure flinched, the illusion flickering slightly as if in response to the threat. "Of course not!" Imperius snapped, but his words were cut off as a pressure gripped his throat. He gasped for air, his eyes wide with panic. Obscuror’s voice was cold and unyielding. "Do not lie to me. Do I need to remind you that I gave you your royal status, Blueblood? I can take it away just as easily." The unicorn choked for a moment longer, before the pressure lifted, and he took in a shaky breath. "Y-yes, master. I… I understand." Obscuror's expression softened, though there was no warmth in it. "Good. A new threat, and a new potential ally has emerged. I recently had a vision of a prophecy, one involving the Bearer of Loyalty and a young pegasus filly fighting each other. The prophecy states that one will turn to the light, while the other turns to the dark side. I want you to learn everything about this Rainbow Dash. Every vulnerability, every insecurity, and every weakness she has." "I will see to it, master," the unicorn replied, his voice filled with reluctant obedience. The holoprojector powered off with a soft click, and Lord Obscuror stood alone in the cave, a dark grin spreading across his face as he walked toward the entrance. The landscape of Equestria lay before him, distant and unaware of the coming storm. "Soon, a new Equestria will dawn," Obscuror whispered. "An Equestria full of darkness. Rest now, Element Bearers… for you will be your own undoing." His laugh echoed through the cold, empty cavern, a sound that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who might have been there to hear it.
