Alright, so here it is my first attempt at writing on this site, I had been reading stories here for years yet only now have I become a full-fledged user
. This was because I was inspired by a story named 'An Interesting New Life' by The Eternal Star.
His idea was unique and unlike what I have ever read here in Fimfiction and probably in other reading sites, after months of contemplating I decided to try my hoof on this concept. 
I hoped that it would be adequate and some parts are gonna be quite similar, but trust me that I'm not copying his story, I have my plot set out and it's gonna be quite different than his.
Also, by the time I was writing this, the story that inspired this was canceled as the author had very unfortunately passed away. Rest In Peace Eternal Star, may your stars shine bright, and may your wish be granted by The Almighty.
I'm interested in what are your thoughts on this story of mine, feel free to comment anything you want so long as it's polite and complies with the site rules, though spam would be deleted.

I'm Reva Koria, you can call me Reva and I'm an Asian in her mid-twenties who worked as a senior supply chain manager at a large manufacturing company, machinery to be exact. This high-stress but high-paying job naturally made me not just financially secure, but I thrived in life, saving up and earning money easily to buy what I wanted.
However, it does come at a cost since my job intensity and expectations make me a cold, calculating, and strict woman who spends most of her time working with little room for laid-back. So while my ever-thick wallet and attractive hourglass figure draw men in, my personality dissolves them because of a lack of compassion and affection.
Even relationships that survived for months often ended due to losing interest in one another, or because I discovered them to be a gold digger and sweet talker that doesn't want to pull their weight. With every breakup chipping part of what was left of my emotion, meaning the more I fail, the harder it gets.
By now, I had given up on the concept of loving another human be it male or female, so instead of relentlessly pursuing and searching a romantic life that I knew wouldn't end well for me. I focused my attention on my work, improving myself, planning for my future, and doing activities that bring peace to my mind whenever I have the chance.
It has always been like this since I was little, my parents were proud of me for my frequent academic achievements and prestige, allowing me to lighten up their financial burden for my education. At the same time, they are concerned about my relationship with my peers and the only few friends I have.
For me it's not a surprising outcome, my lack of sociability and studious nature pulled me away from interacting with other students, even when they tried to interact with me. It's very often ended in them being too nonchalant about my personal boundaries and space, further justifying my preference to keep quiet and let my accomplishments speak for themselves.
Unlike most of my classmates, I wasn't attracted in the slightest to those so-called 'cool' or 'popular' or even 'bad boy' male classmates. In my eyes they are just wasting the perfect time for improvement and growth with pointless relationships that lead to nowhere, it's also very risky, I have seen my fair share of unwanted pregnancies in others.
When those kinds of male classmates approached me, they tried to use their oh-so-very ineffective silver tongue against my rational mind that told them to fuck off and just leave me alone. In instances they are a persistent and borderline unhealthy obsession, I'm not a defenseless woman as I would kick their balls to the hospital or slap their head to a wall.
Anyway, enough about my past and let's focus on the present, currently I was inside my office sitting on my desk with stacks of yet-to-be-inspected papers on my left and a finished review on my right. In my left hand, I held a document as my eyes scanned through its writing, while my right hand held a pen as I either signed, declined, or wrote what was necessary.
I was in my usual black-white office uniform with my identification and position insignia on my left chest, I adjusted my black round glasses with my right hand before continuing my work. My expression was neutral and professional as I stated in a calculating tone, "The resource's delayed again, might need to inspect the distribution chain and production soon.
An alternative for the distribution of materials? I'll consider it for now... Concern about possible sabotage due to multiple reports of missing materials and tools? Worrying, I'll need to coordinate this matter with internal security, " I continued inspecting and signing my decision on the document with exceptional efficiency and precision.
While I was doing so, I heard the sound of the door opening followed by footsteps closing in, I didn't bother to see who it was as I was focused on my work. Then a small plate with a glass of creamy coffee atop it was gently placed on my table right in front of me, soon it was followed by my assistant- who I didn't recall the name of -stating politely.
"Senior Supply Chain Manager Reva Koria, I have finished brewing your coffee just like what you ordered. Is it to your satisfaction or do I need to get a new one? And is there anything else you need me to do?"
I didn't glance up at her as I glanced down at my coffee and my expression immediately turned sour upon noticing it was the sugary kind, I sighed in irritation with my head shaking slightly before replying, "You must have been one of the new entry if you think I liked creamy coffee, I preferred a bitter and clear one, as much as I would like to have you brew a new one.
I will forgive this minor inconvenience for now since currently we are on a tight schedule, don't repeat this anytime in the future as it will be counted to your record, " I motioned with my head and pointed my finger to the right, "The stack of papers on my right, I want you to bring all of those to their respective destination and person, understood?"
Without batting an eye at her or taking a sip of coffee, I went on to continue my work with concentration, efficiency, and consideration as I heard my assistant answer, "Yes, Miss Reva Koria, " Before she went on to grab the stack of papers I told her to grab, she brought it to her chest and held it with her left hand before she turned around and walked to the door.
I heard the door open again before it was closed tenderly to ensure it didn't disrupt my focus, I was left alone in my office again with the only notable difference being the lack of papers monument on my right, and there was now a glass of warm creamy coffee on my desk right in front of me.
I flipped up a page and went on to scan through the writing and citing my decision on it, the more I read it the more frustrated I grew as more and more incident reports came up. I growled in annoyance with my teeth greeting as I asked in a slightly agitated tone, "Do most people nowadays have no common sense, or are the recruiters hiring idiots?
I mean, massive explosions in one of our factories handling biochemical components due to the on-site workers lighting up cigarettes in unauthorized places? It's chemicals and one of them would be bound to be explosive or flammable like methane, what are they thinking would happen when it's mixed with even a tiny bit of fire? Just small smoke? Ridiculous."
As I further the report, I clenched my fist so hard that my pen cracked and bent under the pressure, I just threw it away perfectly into the trash bin in the corner behind me before I set my hand on the table with such force that it creaked the metal form slightly. I put the document down and rubbed my head with my left hand to ease the headache I felt.
I put my hand down as I closed my eyes and took several deep breaths to calm my frustrated mind, I shook my head in disappointment before I leaned my back against the chair and groaned in displeasure for several seconds. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling as I recounted what I just read and what would it mean for the foreseeable future.
"More than eight hundred workers were lost and thousands more were severely injured, the entire site blew up and the toxic smoke from all kinds of chemical components spread to nearby towns, causing widespread sickness due to air poisonings. To make matters worse, property damage is still calculated and it exceeds twenty million dollars.
This is gonna set us back years at best and decades at worst, I can also see suspicion from federal governments and lawsuits from killed/wounded workers and local family relatives. This is something way out of my pay grade and field, I must have this report copied and sent immediately COO or VP of Operations, they would know how to handle this."
I swiftly got myself working on the report again as I signed it to be quickly copied and reported to higher management due to how urgent it was, when I had done that I placed the paper on a different part of my desk. So that when my assistant returned, she could take care of this menial task as I would be occupied with other important tasks.
When I finished doing it though, my sight glanced over to the warm creamy glass of coffee in front of me and decided while I wasn't inclined to sweet, I guess it's what I needed to calm my enraged mind. I went over to it and grabbed the cub handle before bringing it toward me at my lips, I took a sip and was surprised by how bitter it was.
I looked at the coffee with my eyebrow raised questioningly as I adjusted my glasses with my left hand, it still looked creamy and after some more examination, it was like milk. My head tilted slightly as I scratched my hair in confusion, what kind of brand of coffee produces a very sugary-like appearance yet has a very strong bitter taste?
The back of my mind was telling me that something was very wrong with this coffee and I know why, several seconds of staring later, I recalled that I still had a lot of work to do and if the coffee was very bitter. That suits me well to my liking and I would need to ask my assistant where she got this coffee, alongside an apology as I was a bit harsh with her.
With that in mind, I just shrugged and continued drinking the weird but likable coffee, with each gulp I noticed that I started to feel dizzy. Damn, it must have been so strong if the effect manifested so fast at so little amount, particularly against my taste bud which used to hourly bitterness.
As I finished drinking my coffee, I put the empty glass back on its plate and I swiped the droplets still in my lips with my left hand. I noticed that my vision was quite blurry and it became harder for me to think, I think the former was because of the steam forming in my glasses while the latter was most likely because my stress caught up to me at last.
Not only that, several seconds later my breath was starting to become short and ragged while my headache increased sharply, I had never felt such trill from coffee before so what did I just drink? I felt my sense of balance start to falter and breathing get harder and harder by the second, and my heart beating started becoming painful.
Less than a minute of inaction later, my mind finally realized what was happening, I was poisoned by drinking the coffee and that meant my assistant was trying to assassinate me. By now it seemed I was too late, my muscles spasmed as I went into a seizure and fell to the floor, and my hands were grasping my chest in unbearable pain as my heart went into cardiac arrest.
I tried to shout and call for help, but I found it very hard to speak and I found myself unable to breathe. As I struggled to stay conscious, I heard the door open and my assistant comes into the room, a smug and satisfied smile on her face as she watched me dying on the ground.
I was feeling furious at her but the pain ceased for a few moments as my mind was overwhelmed with desire for vengeance, I managed to grab a hidden pistol inside my pant large right pocket and turned the safety off, using my trembling body to hide her from spotting it.
I then glanced up at her with bloodlust in my eyes as I said with a pained growl, "Fuck you, " And aimed the pistol quickly at her before firing three shots. Two bullets missed but one landed on her chest, she shouted in agony with her right hand and went to where she was hit, blood foaming from her mouth before she fell to the ground dead with her eyes and mouth wide open in pain.
Now with my final act of retribution finished, my hand grip on the gun faltered as my hand fell to the floor alongside the gun, the pain in my chest reappeared tenfold as my mind swam around darkness and light. As I continued to flicker in and out of consciousness for several more seconds, my eyes finally closed together as my body fell into eternal silence.
My final thought before I passed away was of amusement, 'Poison, such a classic way to die.'
Not even a minute after I had closed my eyes for what I thought to be the last time, I found myself opening myself back up slowly and was greeted with immense darkness. I blinked several times at this as I glanced at my surroundings, searching for anything that could determine where I was,
After a few minutes of unsuccessful observation and with nothing in the foreseeable distance other than darkness and eerie silence as the result, I concluded that I was not on Earth anymore and looked down at my body to see if I was correct. Oh, I'm indeed correct this time, the lower half of my body was missing and was replaced by mist-like tail similar to a genie.
Not only that, but I looked so pale that I could qualify as one of those well-reserved mummified corpses, my body was emitting a soft white light that flickered on and off every few seconds like a signal. I still have my clothes thankfully, so nudity isn't something of a problem in here.
My current strongest assumption about my whereabouts is that I'm in the dead realm or perhaps the afterlife one, now I was simply a soul drifting in the nothingness of the universe until something happened. Best-case scenario I was saved and guided by Death itself to the next realm or to face judgment, the worst-case scenario I was pulled by other mythical beings.
Either way, I had accepted my death since the time I realized I was poisoned and I rarely have people- other than my family -that genuinely care for me anyway, so no remorse over that. I brought my right hand over my chin in a bored manner, glancing at my surroundings with a neutral expression and yet impatient gaze as I waited for something to happen.
Five minutes of complete silence later with nothing happening, I sighed with my eyes closed and head shaking several times as displeasure at the situation. Since I have nothing to do, I decided to pass the time by reflecting on my life as a successful living human and how I came to be that high, something that has been increasingly rarer due to the burden of my work.
I smiled fondly as I remembered my first time working in the company and how nervous I was, due to my academic prestige I didn't start at an entry-level job which meant I was already part of the command structure, albeit the lower one. Every moment of being promoted and the rare precious time I have with others, serve to further lift up my spirit.
The thought about my parents then came up in my mind as I chuckled happily and smiled wider at it, they were the ones to protect, help, and guide me in the world before I was able to stand on my own against the harsh reality of the world. I glanced at the dark floor below me for a few seconds, before my smile turned to one of sadness as I stated.
"Both of them were such good men and women, compassionate and wise parents since I was born as they nurtured me to be the independent and dependable woman I am today. If only they were all still alive right now, they could have had a taste of what they had worked and made sacrifices on for years, I would grant them what they want in a heartbeat."
My sad smile curved down to a frown as I sighed sorrowfully when I remembered one of their last request before passing away that I couldn't fulfill, tears flowed out of my eyes and I began to sob as I recalled each detail of the moments. Two minutes later I finally gathered up the courage to speak mournfully about the situation.
"Mother and Father, wherever both of you are, I'm deeply sorry that I couldn't fulfill both of your wishes of seeing me married and you being able to hold your grandchildren. Even by the time of my death, I wasn't in a romantic pursuit with someone, let alone married and have children. Am I the one in the wrong, or were they the one incompatible with me?"
Despite the overwhelming emotion I felt, my resolve held strong, and managed to prevent myself from crying my tears out as that was simply against what I had worked for myself personality-wise. After holding out for another minute, I swiped the tears off my eyes and cheeks with my hands as I stabilized my breath to cease my sobbing.
Several minutes later, I was successful in my attempt as my eyes were no longer flowing tears and my sobbing had stopped, but my feelings were still in turmoil inside my heart. But it's manageable and I'm confident it will soon pass, I sighed one more time as I glanced in every direction around me and saw nothing had changed, just endless cold, almost-daunting darkness.
Just as I was about to close my eyes and fall asleep, a blinding white light flashed in front of me, forcing me to cover my eyes with both of my hands. The intense lighting lasted for about ten seconds before it began to dull for a few more seconds until my eyes adjusted to it, after which I slowly lowered my hands to see what was causing the flash.
To see that now there is a desk complete with a chair made of what appeared to be human bone, it's also adorned with various skull symbols with glowing red eyes that are burning like a flame. Atop it is an ordinary paper, only the writing in it is colored red similar to human blood, the bottle of red ink alongside the black quill further supports my assumption.
The most interesting of them all was the fact that a dark shadowy figure with bright intense red eyes started to manifest as it sat on the chair and was looking down at the paper, despite having no facial features other than eyes I'm guessing he was furious about what he was reading as red eyes went up in flames for several seconds.
Not long after that, on each side started to appear a long skeletal hand with the one on the right holding a large black scythe that was made of some kind of steel-like metal, it was decorated with various skull symbols too only this time their expression showed one of fury. Their eyes are narrowed sharply while their mouth open widely as if they were shouting madly.
After a few more seconds, the shadowy figure fully manifested as it shifted around the chair to get more comfortable before it placed the large scythe beside the chair. It then placed its skeletal hands on the desk with fist clenching so hard that I could hear the bone creaking, the sound then stopped no less than five seconds later as it glanced up at me.
All of a sudden, I found myself instantly appearing in front of the dark figure and my eyes were looking at its own as we both looked at each other eyes in a staring contest. Several seconds later, the black-mist figure made the first action as it crossed its hands on the table before I heard a loud, daunting voice that was hard to tell if it was masculine or feminine coming from it.
"So, you are Miss Reva Koria, an Asian woman in her mid-twenties who worked as a senior supply chain manager at a large manufacturing company am I right?" I give an affirmative nod, "Good, as otherwise I would have to punish the underling responsible for identification, " It locked its hands together in front of its face, "I assume that by now, you know who I was?"
In response, I nodded my head once again as I cleared my throat in preparation for sa erious conversation with the being in front of me, which was none other than the Death itself, "Yes, I know who you are, you are none other than the Death itself or based on your look, are the Grim Reaper, the same thing just in different mythology."
Hearing this, Death chuckled warmly for a few seconds as it shook its head a few times before it then gets its face closer to mine as he humbly said, "You don't have to be so tense around me Miss Reva, while I am the embodiment of Death because that's who I was. I'm open to a pleasant conversation, a few jokes here and there, and some questions."
It clapped its skeletal hands together to direct the conversation to the main topic and stared down at the paper, placing its left hand on the left-top side of the table while the right one picked up the black quill dipped in a bottle full of blood. Death read through the writings for a few seconds in silence before it saying out loud.
"Miss Reva Korea, died on fourteen December 2025 due to poisoned coffee given by her assistant, do you know what glaring fault I found in this?" I shook my head, "It's the date of your death, you aren't supposed to die within the next three decades, even then the cause of your death is a car crash and not poisoning."
I was, to say the least, intrigued by this newfound information since it raised some questions in my mind, so I just tilted my head and shrugged questioningly while asking, "Okay, if I wasn't supposed to die within at least the next thirty years, then why am I here dead and meeting with you?"
Death rubbed the left side of its head- or rather, its black cloak -as it sighed in irritation with its head shaking in what I can guess to be da isappointment, though it wasn't directed at me as Death's eyes were still on the paper. It then glanced up at me and answered in annoyance.
"It's one of my underling's faults, it mistook your identity for another person with a similar appearance and background. Then it set up a series of events that led up to your death, your assistant just happened to hold a deep grudge toward you and her time was up, the rest was what you just experienced that led to us meeting with one another here."
Hearing the answer just perked up more questions in my mind instead of reducing them, my head tilted further and this time my eyebrow was raised in curiosity. I hummed for a few seconds as lined up the questions in my mind, when I was done I opened my lips and asked, "Wait, you have underlings to do your task and you could make a mistake? That's certainly new.
In any case, couldn't you just bring my soul back to my own body? I mean, I have seen my share of people suffering extreme injuries or sickness and were thought to be dead, only for them to wake up hours later completely fine. If not, why and what will happen to me next then?"
Responding to my question, death stared up at my eyes for a few seconds in silence, before it chuckled in amusement with its head shaking several times. It replied, "You're different than most, others would have been terrified and crying knowing they were dead. You're as calm as ever and are instead curious about your next fate, I like it.
As for your questions, do you think I could be doing the same countless things at different dimensions and times all at once? Of course, I would have underlings to ease my job and they can make from time to time, I couldn't make mistakes while I was doing my job as that's impossible for me to do unless I intend it."
Death then glanced back down at the paper as it sighed sorrowfully and stayed in silence for several seconds, until it continued and this time in sad resignation, "Unfortunately, I can't bring you back to your vessel as it had turned into a composter by now, time moved differently in this realm and what might have been minutes are years in the living realm."
It swiftly glanced up at my face and quickly continued in reassurance as it brought up its skeletal arms in ca alming manner, "Fear not however, you wouldn't be brought to the next destination to face judgment as Life would have my hide if I dared to. Nor you would be stuck in here, instead, I would reincarnate you however you want within a reasonable limits of course."
Seeing that its answer and action do not affect me other than increasing my curiosity, Death brought its hand down onto the table before continuing, "You could choose where, as what, and which timeline you would be reborn into. On top of it all, I'm granting you three requests of whatever you want with a cost of three drawbacks as severe as what was granted."
Hearing this, I smiled up and cooed joyfully with my hands rubbed against one another in excitement, my eyes widened mirthfully as my mind quickly went to one of my favorite cartoon shows that I still love to this day, My Little Pony. I wasn't very interested in the show itself, but rather in the world and the fandom surrounding it.
This particular cartoon has always been able to light up my spirit when I was feeling down, while the next generation was lackluster in terms of plot and the world itself. The good usual G4 and all kinds of stories created by its fandom fascinated me, so much possibility, so much scenario, and so much wonder all at once.
Not only that, but ponies are damn cute, their big eyes and colorful body make me wish I could hug a real one in my life. Heck, I even have created several Pony OC of my own with some having unique backgrounds. The world has all of those good things about fantasy like magic, the thrill of adventures, forbidden knowledge, and stunning dangerous places,
So if I could choose to be reincarnated over there as one of my oc and top it all with granted three requests of whatever I want? That's simply a deal I can't pass and I would utilize it as max as I could, and my ever-brightest mind already knew what specifics I was gonna ask alongside the three requests.
First I cleared my throat and adjusted my glasses, I clapped my hands together to draw Death's attention from looking at the paper to my face. I giggled giddily for a moment like a little girl about to buy an ice cream, before I managed to state my decision though, thoughts came to my mind about two issues I needed to address first.
"Death, before I state my specifics and three requests, I want to know if being reincarnated as an immortal being and keeping my memories and cognitive thinking capability count toward wishes or not. The former is because the species I want to be reborn to never age while the latter is because... I would appreciate not having to relearn everything."
Death was silent for several seconds as it processed and considered my questions, before chuckling loudly with its head shaking a few times and hand draped in front of its body. Then replied in a matter-of-fact tone, "I told you that I would reincarnate you into any species you want right?
That means even if the species is immortal, I would still reborn you as it because immortality doesn't mean invulnerability and you could still die, which still obeys the rules of life and death. As to keeping your awareness and memory? I wouldn't count it as a request since it's something you already have, and wouldn't affect much of your next life anyway."
In response to Death's reply, I sighed in relief as I was glad to know that my specifics wouldn't be counted as wishes. I just shook my head and cleared my throat again before stating happily, "Alright thank you for answering my questions, Death, now I'm ready to state my specifics.
I would like to be reborn in My Little Pony world as my second Alicorn mare OC. The timeline, I want it to be extremely before the start of the show, preferably far earlier than the birth of the two Alicorns sisters named Princess Celestia and Princess Luna."
Death picked up the black quill with his right skeletal hand as he wrote down what I just stated on an empty page of the paper, it only took a minute before it glanced back up at me again and motioned for me to continue with its head before asking, "Alright, that's the specifics and vastly different than most, especially the latter. Now what are your three requests?"
I covered my mouth and chin with both of my hands as my mind went to three requests already on my mind, calculating and comparing if there were more things I could wish to have alongside if the possible drawbacks were as worthy as what was asked. Several minutes of careful contemplating later, I opened my eyes and put my hands down as I replied in determination.
"I would like to have immense magical prowess that would continue to grow over time with no limit whatsoever, then I want to have my intelligence to grow indefinitely, allowing me to process information at a faster rate and solve complex problems with ease. Last but not least, I preferred to have my body be very and increasingly attractive regardless of what happen to it."
After I stated all of my requests, Death began listing all of them on the paper, occasionally dipping the black quill inside the blood bottle. Like before, a minute later it finished writing down what I said and was reading through it in silence, soon after it clapped its skeletal hands together before saying in admiration.
"Alright, that's quite powerful wishes you just said to me, I like mortals who like to take risk. Your first drawback shall be as your magic grows more powerful, it becomes harder to control, meaning without constant training and caution you risk random magical surges or outbursts that are harmful and catastrophic.
Your second drawback will be that as your intellect increases over time, it will put mental strains on your mind, making you feel disconnected from others, and struggled to relate on an emotional level, before becoming emotionless and detached. As for the third one, as you mature, any sapient beings would inevitably fall in love with you no matter what they do to resist it."
It then glanced up at me as it waited for my response, I was going through all of the drawbacks in my mind as contemplated whether or not it was worth the benefit with my right hand on my chain and I thought, 'The first one is manageable, so long as I careful in using my magic and continuously train then everything will be okay, I'm used to improving myself anyway.
The second one is unique, I suspect that this mental strain is more severe than what was stated. I'm becoming emotionless and not emotionally dead, which means I still be able to connect with others, if harder than before. The third one, I had been searching for and pursuing a successful romantic life since I was twenty and it all failed.'
I looked at myself for a few seconds, ' So if with this others would automatically began to fall in love with me and it's genuine in personal level? I could choose who I want to be with, and it will be of the highest quality. The drawbacks actually felt less severe than I expected, I'm not gonna complain about it.' I concluded in my mind with an affirmative nod.
I put my hands down as I glanced at Death's patiently waiting gaze, I took a deep breath before I stated my decision with finality and excitement in my voice, "I find all of those drawbacks to be acceptable compared to the requests, Death. I'm ready to be reborn into my new life, thank you for all of this."
Now that Death knew my answer, it clapped its hands three times until it nodded and stated in ca asual tone, "You are welcome Miss Reva, although If anyone should be thankful it should be me. It's been a very long time since I have pleasant conversations with other living beings, most of the time they would be mortified or passed out when I talk to them."
Death looked back down at the paper as it used its power to summon a green stamper before grabbing it and stamping the paper, the effect was immediate as I soon felt my consciousness begin to fade. I managed to see Death waving at me and hear it say.
"Your reincarnation has begun, I hope we never meet one another again and I pray for you to have a nice new life, Miss Reva." Before everything faded to complete darkness once again.
