I sat in my room, leaning back in my chair with a groan, I had been playing Sonic Unleashed for quite a while...it's made my butt quite sore, and made me very hungry, so, in that moment I thought I might as well get up and get myself something to eat, it is about time for lunch afterall.
So, that's exactly what I did, I paused my game and stood up from my gaming chair -cost me quite a lot to get that- before heading out my Kingdom Hearts themed room, consisting of Sora and Kairi pillows, a Riku themed blanket, some shelves with Kingdom hearts figures including Donald duck, Goofy, King Mickey, Queen Minnie, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Aqua, Roxas, Cloud, Elsa, and one Sonic themed plush doll, the plush doll is a home made doll of Chip, I spent several weeks designing it to ensure I got every little detail correct.
Anyways, as I left my room and down the empty hallway to my kitchen expecting to find something to eat, I am disappointed to find the kitchen..... Empty.
"Empty?! Seriously? Ugh... Now I gotta go out and get more..." I grumbled as I looked at all the empty drawers and empty fridge, how did I let my kitchen get this baren? Whatever...
I release a sigh of annoyance as I grab my slide on shoes and my key's to the house before heading out the front door, I turn to my left and begin to walk down the street, taking out and lighting a cigarette to soothe my nerves, huh, I only have four left, sweet, only four more smokes till I quit for good.
I kept walking down the street for a few more minutes, silently waving greetings to my neighbours before turning and walking down an alleyway, it's a quick shortcut to the nearest shopping market that I've taken a few times already, however, I soon spotted something that caused my mind to freeze and my body to move without any thoughts.
"HEY! LEAVE THE KID ALONE!!!" I shouted before my mind could catch up with my mouth as I had seen a young unconscious girl being dragged by two shady men, without thinking, I ran at them hoping to get the girl away from them....and I succeed, bolting between the two men and picking up the girl in my arms before making my way out the alleyway as fast as I could.
I kept running, and running, and running until I had almost reached the local Police station when- Bang! one of the men had shot me, the bullet piercing through my back, into my ribcage, through my heart, and out the other side, leaving a gaping hole in my chest.
And as I bled out on the floor, the only thing I could think of was the safety of the child, thankfully the sound of gunfire alerted the Police to what was occuring outside.
The last thing I saw before everything faded to black was…a woman…with inky black bat-like wings…?
With no idea how much time had passed, I open my eyes with a splitting headache with no memory of the past few hours of my life.
"...ugh...w-...wh-where...am I?" I groaned as I mumbled to myself....all I can see around me is darkness, darkness...and guess what? More darkness...
"How...what's going on? What...what happened to me...?" I mutter to myself before the memories began to flood back to me.
"N-no...how?...h-how am I here? I-i died...I...I did die...right?" I whispered to myself, jumping in surprise and fear when I heard a voice reply from behind me.
"Yes, it is true that you have died, but, in your dying moments, your very soul called out to me, it is not often a mortal soul can reach all the way out to the Void, so, you have gained my attention." The voice spoke, prompting me to startle and turn around with a short hop in place, the Voice belonging to a very...filled out, woman with large inky black bat wings, devil horns and a halo, calming blue eyes, a... Surprisingly simple lavander crop top and rose red short shorts, she appears to be wearing light makeup in the form of pink lipstick and light blush powder....she is greeting me with a kind smile.
"M-mortal?...s-soul?...w-wait, who...who even are you...?" I stuttered, still very nervous and afraid, my eyes widening with a slight blush as the woman suddenly pulls me into a very motherly and comforting hug...my face pressed against her...ahem...breasts...
"Oh Darling, you have no need to fear me, and where are my manners! You may call me Opal, as you can tell, I am very clearly not a human mortal like you, I am what is known as a Void Dweller, a Succubus variant to be precise, most Void Dwellers take up the job of Displacers, we... Take people destined for greatness, people who's very soul resonates with the Void, to different worlds in new yet familiar bodies and grant them the power to either protect, or destroy their new worlds." The woman, Opal, explained to me as she began to rub gentle circles across my back, slowly soothing me and keeping me calm through the shocking knowledge I had just been taught.
"You, however, my little Darling, are special, very rarely does a human Soul Resonate so strongly with the Void that it attracts a singular Void Dweller, your Soul called out for me, and me alone to save it, and thus, you." Opal spoke as she gently pat my head.
"M-me?" I asked in confusion.
"Indeed, you must know your body has...deceased, correct?" Opal asked as she looked down at me, and when I nod my head, she continued talking. "It is surprising you are taking this so well, truly formidable for a young human mortal, nevertheless, I must inform you that this is not where your story ends, because you are destined to become one of my Proxies, or as the other Void Dwellers call it, Displaced. I am going to reincarnate you into a new world, your only goal is to do everything in your newfound power to protect and rejuvenate your new world, do you understand?"
I nod, grateful for Opal's rescue. "I understand...Mistress." I mumbled before blinking in surprise, mistress? Why did I call Opal Mistress?
"Ah, that. That my Darling is a byproduct of me saving your Soul, which you seem to instinctively already know, from now on, you belong to me, your very being has adapted to belong to me, now, keep in mind I do not enslave others, I merely own my Proxies, I am their Mistress, and they, now including you, are my Darlings." Mis- Opal, explained with a small smile, I guess that makes sense, I guess I'm like a cat now? Mistress Opal's pet?....I think I can be okay with that.
"Now that we have everything out of the way, it is time Darling, for you to be reborn!" Opal spoke, her eyes glowing a deep purple as she raised one of her hands and
