Chapter 5

Previous Chapter

Fluttershy was looking out her window, just looking out into the city; the only thing that was on her mind was the house that she and Adam looked at the other day. Yes she wanted that house, but her husband was right, they just couldn’t afford it.

But she did have her plan, she was just waiting to see if it worked.

The apartment phone rang, and Fluttershy quickly answered it, “Hello.”

“Hello, my name is High Volt, and I represent the Bank of Canterlot. I have some news that may interest you.” The banker explained. “After a quick finance check, I can safely say that you are eligible for the loan you seek.”

The pink-haired girl was smiling greatly, “Thank you. Thank you ever so much.” She replied.

“My pleasure, miss. Goodbye.”

Fluttershy then hanged up the phone, happier than a kid on Christmas; just as she was putting the phone back, her husband was just waking from his power sleep. Adam looked over and saw Fluttershy with a huge smile on her face.

“What are you grinning about?” He asked.

She turned to him and replied, “I just got off the phone with the bank; we’re eligible for a loan.” Fluttershy then walked over and hugged Adam, “Which means, we’ll have the money to put down the deposit for our house.”

Adam put his arms around Fluttershy to hug her back, “That’s wonderful.”

“I know you weren’t one hundred percent on board with this loan plan, but I really have faith in this.” Fluttershy explained. “We’re going to have a house.”

Suddenly, Adam’s phone started ringing; when he answered, it was Sunset Shimmer, and she had a favour to ask of Adam. More specifically, Spiderman.

20 minutes earlier

Twilight was suited up and swinging through the city, she needed to find the True Humans, and where they were keeping Spitfire. She’d been tuned into the police radio frequencies, but they hadn’t had any calls regarding True Humans or supervillains or anything the Spiders needed worrying about.

But, fate was smiling on Spider-Girl today, because out of the blue, the hero was contacted on her comm system. Sunset was on the line and had some information for her girlfriend, “Hey babe.” The red-haired girl said.

Twilight replied, “Hey Sunset. Everything okay?”

“All is well, because I have some good intel that might be able to help.” Sunset explained. “After hours of listening, we finally have a report on the police channels. Someone reported seeing the same masked people from Friendship Land entering an active steel mill. I’m sending you the address.”

Spider-Girl replied, “Sunset Shimmer, I could kiss you.”

“I’m holding you to that.”

Twilight got the address and swung all the way over to the steel mill; when she eventually got there, the place was crawling with purple-masked gang members. Twilight broke the tension she suddenly felt by saying, “Unless its mask-day at the office, I don’t these guys work here.”

Without being detected, Spider-Girl got closer to see what they were saying. She was able to listen to two of the True Humans chatting while they patrolled, “What is taking them so long?”

“We’re putting in extra precautions. Pyro is turning out to be more trouble than she’s worth.”

The Spider-Hero then came to the conclusion, “This is definitely where they’re keeping Pyro. I need to clear these rooftops and then find a way inside.” Twilight then assessed the situation, there were a dozen gang members; three with snipers and four with machine guns, the rest were unarmed.

Spider-Girl web-zipped to one of the snipers and quietly took him out, with a powerful kick to the face, he was out cold. And then, after summersaulting over a metal beam stretched out between two pillars, Twilight web-zipped to another sniper and kicked him to the ground. However, what Twilight didn’t know, was another True Human was patrolling behind this sniper; the thug was about to notice the Spider-Hero and alert the others, until Twilight threw a web-grenade at him and stuck him to the side of the massive chimney.

There was one sniper left, right on top of the chimney; Twilight crawled to the top and once again web-zipped towards the sniper-thug; unfortunately, her kick was powerful. The crook tumbled off the chimney and began free falling; Twilight was able to catch him with a web-net, but it caught the attention of the rest of the criminals.

Now the real fight began; Spider-Girl took out the first one by grabbing them with both her arms and throwing them into the air, the hero then grabbed this crook with her legs and slammed them onto the ground. The next one to go down was punched and kicked a few times before Twilight web-grabbed a barrel and slammed it onto him.

After that, the rest of them were easy to take down; a few punches and kicks and the gang was down for the count. Once the True Humans were out of the way, Twilight could now focus on getting inside the steel mill.

It was risky, but the massive chimney seemed like the only place that hadn’t been sealed by the gang; so Twilight web-zipped back to the top and then jumped down towards the furnace. However, she latched onto the side wall and was now safely crawling down; when she found a hole in the wall, it took her into what looked like a loading garage.

The room was crawling with True Humans, all of them armed this time. “Should probably do this one quietly.” She whispered to herself.

Using a trick that Adam showed her once, Spider-Girl shot a web-line across the room and created a new vantage point for herself. Twilight creeped along the web towards two True Humans that were standing together; once the time was right, she webbed them both at the same time and tied them together in a web-net.

As she moved through the room, Twilight waited for the right moment to take out each gang-member; webbing them up and dangling them from the web-line.

Until there was only one guy left, no need to be quiet anymore; so Twilight jumped towards the final thug and took him out. She jumped into the air and pulled herself back down with webs, slamming the True Human into the ground.

Suddenly, the double door at the end of the room swung open, revealing the guy in charge of this group; he saw Spider-Girl and was about to attack.

“You guys just can’t make it easy.” Twilight stated, ready to fight again.

That’s when the two of them heard a noise coming from above, the Spider-Hero and the True Human looked up at the ceiling to hear what sounded like the clanging of metal and machine parts smashing together. And then, to everyone’s surprise; Spiderman came crashing through the ceiling, shot a web-line to swing on and swung right into the thug next to Twilight.

The two of them crashed into the wooden crates by the wall, the thug was knocked out, but Adam was just sitting in the mess.

“Nailed it.” He joked whilst rubbing the sore spot on his head.

Twilight ran over to help her friend up, “Adam, what are you doing here?”

Once on his feet, he replied, “Sunset called. She said you could use some back up.” Then, Adam felt like he needed to apologise. “Listen Twilight, about not being there last night. I’m sorry.”

“Its okay Adam. No one is expecting you to do this all the time.” Spider-Girl said back.

But Spiderman commented, “But its my responsibility. I started all this five years ago, so I have to deal with it.”

Suddenly, the huge loading bay door began to open, revealing the next room of the steel plant; unfortunately, the room was also filled with True Humans. Twilight turned to Adam, not mad, just a little annoyed that the element of surprise had gone out the window.

“I was hoping to do this quietly.” Spider-Girl commented as the criminals took notice of the two Spiders.

Adam replied, “Is this my fault?” The True Humans saw the superheroes and charged towards them, ready to attack. “Yeah, my fault.”

Spiderman went left, Spider-Girl went right; they worked together to take out the thugs.

Both Spider-Heroes began punching and kicking the True Humans to the ground, Twilight backflip-kicked one into the air and jumped up after him, now she was punching him in the air. Once he was down, Spider-Girl went for another one; she provided a distraction by jumping over him, allowing Adam to web-grab a box-container and slam it onto the thug, smashing the crate and knocking him out. Seeing how well it was taking them out together, they tried it again; Adam spring-flipped over one and pushed them forward, allowing Twilight to summer-sault in the air and grab the thug with webs, swing them around and slamming them onto the floor.

As they fought, the two heroes caught up on some things, “Spider-Girl, did you here the news? I’m buying a house.”

“No way, the bank approved the loan?” Twilight replied.

Adam said back, “Yep, me and... you know who, are finally going to make a proper life for ourselves.”

“Well that’s great, I’m really happy for you two.”

Spider-Girl web-zipped to one of the higher platforms and began punching and kicking one of the True Humans that had a machine gun; however, they responded by kicking her in the stomach to push her away. Twilight responded to that attack by webbing their feet to the ground, upper-cutting them in the chin while jumping up, and then pulling herself forward with web-lines to slam her foot into the criminal’s face.

Another guy with a gun was aiming his weapon directly at Twilight, but she had help; Spiderman jumped up into the air and pulled the guy off the platform and towards the hero. Adam punched the guy in the face; then as he flew back, the hero web-zipped to him and slammed the guy on to the ground with his feet.

That was the last guy, the two superheroes jumped together to regroup. However, he work wasn’t done yet; another door on the far side of the room swung open and revealed a military jeep driving down the room. Mounted on top of this jeep was a thirty-millimetre machine gun, with a built on flame-thrower; the large gun began firing down the room, Adam and Twilight were just able to dodge its blasts.

The room they were in had large vats of molten steel hanging on the conveyer-belt on the ceiling, along with more higher platforms, the weaponized jeep was in the middle of the lane they created.

Adam stated, “We can’t web that thing up. We need to find another way to shut it down.”

Spiderman once again went left while Twilight went right, more True Humans were on the platforms and needed to be dealt with. One by one, the criminals were punched and kicked to the ground, they were no match for the two Spider-Heroes combined.

As the two of them fought their way across the room, Twilight then shouted, “Spiderman. Get to that back balcony.” She pointed to the platform that was right next to the machine-gun-flamethrower. “I’ve got an idea.”

Spiderman trusted his partner, so he did as instructed. From the balcony, the two could see a vat of steel hanging directly over the jeep; Adam could see where this was going. They both dodged the incoming bullets and made their way up to the mechanism that was holding up the vat, and with all their strength, they pulled out the gears and dropped the vat.

The vat crushed the jeep and destroyed the gun; all of the True Humans had already got clear, so no one was harmed. With the large weapon taken out, the two Spiders took a moment to catch their breath.

“Talk about your basic work out.” Adam joked.

“There’s been nothing basic about us for years.” Twilight replied.

Now they could carry on the search for Pyro, the two Spiders broke down the large door with their strength, revealing what looked like the main boiler room; the core and centre of this plant. When the door came down, the True Humans inside turned to the heroes and began firing their guns at them.

The masked-gang had fashioned the main generator into what looked like a cage, and Spitfire was inside it; the bars were made of solid steel, too strong for her to melt through it with her fire.

As the gang kept firing at the Spiders, they took cover behind some debris; Twilight turned to Adam and asked, “Okay, there she is. What’s the plan?”

“I think we should get her.” Spidey replied.

“That’s not a plan, that’s just saying what you want to do.”

“Seriously, that’s the definition of ‘a plan’.”

More doors opened and more True Humans entered the room, some bringing the flying spider-robots with them. The heroes were completely out numbered now, they really needed a plan.

Twilight turned back to Adam and explained, “I’ll take care of them, you try and break out Spitfire.” She held her fist out to him and asked, “Go team?”

Spidey fist-bumped and replied, “Go team.”

So as Spider-Girl jumped over to start fighting with the criminals, Spiderman jumped over to the cage to try and free the prisoner. Two True Humans tried to intercept Adam, but he responded by webbing one’s foot to trip him up and kicking the other one away; but when the first guy got back up, Adam grabbed him by the throat and slammed him onto the ground.

“I saw that in a wrestling show once.” Spiderman then turned to Pyro and explained, “Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of there.”

However, Spitfire replied, “You can’t. They rigged this whole thing.”

Spidey then looked up to see one of the power-suppliers, it looked like it was feeding energy to the cage to keep it locked. “Then I'll de-rig it.” Adam jumped up to the power-supplier and began punching it, once it was cracked open, he pulled out some wires to shut it down.

Unfortunately, it was a bad move, the entire generator was sparking and catching fire; underneath all the platforms and catwalks, liquid metal was released from the generator and began filling the room with, basically lava.

Adam jumped back down to Spitfire and said, “Oops.”

“What did I just tell you?” Spitfire replied.

“Sorry, I’ve really had a week.”

Over where Twilight was fighting, she could be heard saying, “Could use a hand here.”

Spiderman said to Spitfire, “Be right back.” Before jumping over to help Spider-Girl with the fight.

Twilight slid under one’s legs and kicked them over to Adam, allowing him to kick them away. The two of them kept fighting, trying to deal with this quickly, as the room was filling up; they punched and kicked all they could. Adam web-zipped up to one of the robots and landed on it’s back, using his Spider-Strength he ripped off the spider-legs and kicked the torso to the ground.

“We have to shut down this furnace!” Twilight stated. “If we can overload the reactor with a coolant, it should shut down.”

After the True Humans and robots were dealt with, the two Spiders web-zipped over to the furnace’s control console; Twilight used the computer and her smarts to apply the coolant liquid to the furnace. Unfortunately, they came up with this plan too late; one of the pipes on the wall exploded, cutting off the supply of coolant, and a piece of debris was flung across the room and smashed into Pyro’s cage.

“Are you two trying to kill me?!” Spitfire shouted.

Spiderman replied, “Sorry, that wasn’t the plan.”

Needing a new plan, Twilight quickly thought fast, “Maybe we can weaken the cage somehow.” She commented. Spider-Girl then saw the answer, “There, if we pull out those support beams, it might weaken the structure.”

The Spider-Heroes used their webs to pull out the support beams, that plus the molten metal that was seeping out of the walls, the whole room was coming down.

“Okay, I think that did it.” The two heroes came together and fired two web-lines at the cage’s bars; with all their might, and with Spitfire pushing on the other side, the Spiders were able to pull the bars out and break open the little prison. “Let’s go.” Twilight yelled.

All three of them ran for it, through the doors and over the pools of lava that were forming all over the place. They were dodging falling debris, and explosions coming out of the wall; and with one final explosion, the former supervillain and the two superheroes jumped clear of the flames and escaped the steel plant.

They put some distance between them and the building, when they got round a corner, Spitfire needed a moment. “Hold up.” She said.

Twilight turned to Adam and asked, “Can you see if we were followed?” Adam nodded and web-zipped back to the plant.

After Spitfire caught her breath, she stated, “Only downside to going straight, the game keeps you in shape.”

The Spider-Hero replied, “Glad we got to you in time. Zzzax wasn’t so lucky.”

“Oh please, they couldn’t have off’d me if they tried.” Spitfire explained, punching her fist into her hand. “Beside, I overheard something. They were waiting for Tombstone to do the deed himself.”

Twilight felt like she needed to ask, “Have you got somewhere to go?”

Spitfire replied, “Yeah, I have a boyfriend in Manehatten; I can go there and stay with him. They come for me again, I’ll be ready.” Spitfire offered her hand, Twilight shook it out of mutual respect. “Thanks for the save, Spider-Girl.”

With that said, Spitfire walked away, officially done with this life; for good this time.

Adam then swung back, he explained, “Looks like the gang split before the place came down.” He then said, “We should to.”

The two superheroes then used webs to swing away, not wanting to be here if someone like Captain Gilda showed up; the last thing they needed was the headlines to blame the destruction of a steel mill on them. They landed on a roof top, removed their masks to have a talk.

Spidey started the talk with, “Hey, great job back there.”

“Really, it kind of looked like it was all going wrong.” Twilight replied.

“It was, but then you saw through it and you fixed it. And you saved Spitfire.” Adam explained. “You seem like you’re a natural born leader.”

That last statement took Twilight by surprise, Twilight Sparkle aka Spider-Girl, a leader? “No, come on Adam. You’re just being silly.”

“I’m serious. You handled yourself fine back there. I think you could do it.” Adam tried to convince her. “It’s even looking like you could really.... take my place one day.”

Twilight looked at Adam with confusion, but then realised his point; the two decided to call it for the day, go home and rest before the next big fight happened. The heroes reapplied their masks and swung away.

Meanwhile, sitting in her living room was the city’s well known party girl, Pinkie Pie. Just sitting at home and having a relaxing day, which was rare for someone like her. While she sat on her couch, she grabbed the TV remote to turn on the news.

When she saw the report on the news, she became quite concerned.

The reporter on the TV explained, “I’m standing here at Rykers Prison, where it seems another one of the prison’s most infamous inmates has escaped custody. The suspect is Trixie Lulamoon, aka Mysterio.”

“What?” Pinkie Pie couldn’t believe this, Mysterio had escaped prison, again. She kept watching the TV to get all the details.

As the reporter continued, “According to the guard who was on duty last night, he witnessed what looked like a large green dragon appear out of nowhere and scared him away from the cells. When he returned later with more guards, Mysterio was gone.” The TV screen then showed the security footage that had been released to the public, it showed a large green dragon walking down the cellblock and scaring the guard away.

She’d seen all she needed, Pinkie Pie turned off the TV and ran for her phone, she needed to call her friends. However, she remembered something that slipped that silly little mind of hers; she was a superhero to.

Pinkie concluded, “They’ve all got their own situations. I’ll take the heat off and handle this one myself.” The party girl then ran up to her bedroom, locked the door behind her and went to her draws; she pulled out a detectives cap and put it on.

She even got a prop pipe that blew bubbles out of it; Pinkie then turned to a board with pictures and green string that she had thrown together in the last minute, all the photos were of Trixie or Mysterio or places that she’s been in the past.

“Now if I was an escaped convict named Trixie, where would I go if I had just escaped the clink?” she asked herself. “What do you think, Sargent Gummy?” Pinkie Pie turned to her little gator pet with no teeth; the little creature was wearing a tiny neck tie and had a note pad in its mouth.

The party girl thought about this, for once, she really thought about something; she came up with a few ideas. Pinkie explained, “Well, she’d never be able to get her stuff back from the police lockup. So she’d have to go somewhere that has the same stuff she uses.” She picked up Gummy and placed the gator on her shoulder, hoping to get two sets of eyes on her mystery board.

However, when she turned to see Gummy, she saw one of his eyes drooping in the wrong direction; Pinkie looked at the direction it was going, and gasped with delight. Gummy’s eye was looking right at the poster for Friendship Land that Pinkie Pie had on her bedroom wall, that’s when she solved it.

“Of course, the Mysterium at Friendship Land. Snips and Snails have all of her original gear, and that’s all she needs.” Pinkie took Gummy off her shoulder and held the little gator in front of her face. “Gummy, you’re a genius.” She kissed her pet on the nose, and he responded by unemotionally licking hers.

And now that she knew where to go, it was time for a costume change; she changed into her superhero suit, climbed out her window and stood on her roof as Ms Marvel. Pinkie said to herself, “First solo mission. No pressure.”

And then, using her stretchy arms, Ms Marvel grabbed hold of two chimneys and pulled back; once she’d built up enough momentum, Pinkie Pie shot her self across the city. As she soured through the air, she knew she needed to keep herself up; so the superhero flattened out her body in order to glide like a kite.

Pinkie Pie flew all the way to Friendship Land.

When the party girl arrived at Friendship Land, the park was closed for the day; but that wasn’t going to stop Ms Marvel, she just stretched over the locked gate. Once that was out of the way, Pinkie Pie ran towards the Mysterium.

The park was completely deserted, not even cleaning crews walking the grounds; when the superhero reached the Mysterium, it had a sign out the front that read ‘Closed For Maintenance’.

Pinkie Pie decided to do the polite thing and knock on the door, and to her surprise, the door opened on it’s own. Ms Marvel stepped inside, expecting to find the large open room from the night before; instead, she got something a little different.

It was a corridor, a long walkway that turned around a corner; Pinkie commented, “This wasn’t here before.”

Suddenly, a voice could be heard over the intercom, “Welcome, Ms Marvel.” Pinkie Pie recognised that voice, it was Trixie, she was here. “If you’re looking for Snips and Snails. They’re no longer with us I’m afraid.”

Pinkie knew instantly what that meant, but she didn’t want to believe it. She asked, “You killed them?”

“Don’t act so surprised, you’ve known who you were going to be dealing with.”

“You’ve gone too far this time, Trixie!” Ms Marvel replied.

When Pinkie reached the end of the corridor, a large door opened, revealing the room she was in last night; the room was pitch black, with one light that lit up the centre of the chamber. Only, instead of a computer screen being in the middle of the room, it was a table; and on that table, was a snow globe, a snow globe of Canterlot City.

“What the...?” Pinkie asked as she entered the room. When she walked over to the snow globe on the table, she began to hear the sound of laughter coming from the darkness. Pinkie Pie turned to the direction it was coming from and saw someone emerging; it was Trixie, with her Mysterio attire.

All except for the helmet, which she was holding in her hands. Ms Marvel asked, “Trixie?”

“The name is....” Trixie stated, she finished with, “The name is...” she placed the helmet on her head and it began to glow like a lightbulb. “Mysterio.”

Mysterio’s hands then began to glow with her ‘magic’, she suddenly began growing bigger; with a wave of her magic hands, Pinkie Pie noticed the whole room was growing around her, but she wasn’t growing with it. There was a flash of green light, and Pinkie suddenly found herself inside the snow globe; she looked up to see Mysterio staring at her through the glass.

And then, out of nowhere; another, smaller Mysterio flew past Ms Marvel and was flying around the tiny city. The only way Pinkie could see herself getting out of this was to fight, and the smaller Mysterio seemed like the best place to start.

The superhero jumped from her place and aimed for Mysterio, but the villain moved out of the way, and began firing energy bolts at the hero. Despite her small attention span, Pinkie wanted answers.

“What’s going on? Why are you here? This place was supposed to be for people’s entertainment.” Pinkie Pie stated.

Mysterio replied, “Oh, I find this highly entertaining.”

As Pinkie dodged the blasts, she saw a window to get in close; using her bouncy body, Ms Marvel jumped up to Mysterio and began punching and kicking her. With one final punch from the hero’s giant fist, Mysterio was sent across the city, but the fight wasn’t over yet.

“I spent years of my life behind bars, because people believed my power was too much for the world to handle.” Mysterio explained. “And now, my illusions will be inescapable. You are mine, for all eternity.”

Ms Marvel replied, “You’ve flipped your wig, Trixie. You have to stop this.”

The villain’s hands began glowing, green clouds of smoke began filling the streets; from those clouds, green men with flaming skulls for heads, started charging at the hero.

One of the first things Pinkie did was grab one of the small car props off the fake street and slammed it onto the ground; this knocked back some of the bad guys, but more kept coming. As the hero fought off the minions, flying flaming laughing skulls soared in and smashed themselves into the ground; Pinkie Pie dodged them the best she could, she even grabbed one out of the sky and threw it at the enemies. With a powerful slam onto the ground with her giant fists, the rest of the bad guys were pushed away and exploded into green mist.

“What?!” Mysterio was heard saying. “How are you still alive?!”

The superhero replied, “Come closer and I’ll show you.”

Mysterio could be heard crying in anger, she appeared in the air above Pinkie Pie and flew away through a portal. Ms Marvel jumped in and flattened out her body to glide again, they were now in the normal city, but everything was upside-down; Pinkie focused and flew after Mysterio.

“Why are you doing this, Trixie? I thought you were making progress in prison.” Pinkie stated.

But the villain replied, “This is all about respect! Nobody ever respected Trixie, but people fear Mysterio!"

"This isn’t how you get respect.”

Suddenly, Mysterio opened another portal, leading back into the tiny city; when Pinkie flew through it, the portal spat her back out into the Mysterium chamber. Pinkie once again asked, “What the?” And in the middle of the room, was Trixie; not dressed as Mysterio, but in her prison jumpsuit.

Ms Marvel approached her and asked, “Trixie?”

“Keep fighting. Keep doubting.” Trixie explained. “It is the only way to defeat her.”

Now Pinkie was really confused, she muttered, “Wait, if you’re here, and Mysterio’s out there....”

“How is that happening?! GAH!”

The was another flash of green and purple, Pinkie Pie was back in the tiny snow globe city; Mysterio appeared in the air above her, “Enough of this! I’ll end you myself.”

Pinkie Pie joked, “I did not think this was going to happen today.”

The superhero quickly saw an opening while Mysterio was casting one of her spells; she jumped up to the villain and began punching and kicking, up until Mysterio released a blast of energy, knocking Pinkie away. The villain launched one of the flying skulls at Pinkie Pie, but she grabbed it with her stretched out hand and threw it back at her, causing it to explode.

Ms Marvel once again jumped up to Mysterio and punched and kicked the breath out of her; the finisher was Pinkie upper-cutting the villain and kicking her away, only for the hero to stretch her arm to Mysterio and pull her back, right into Pinkie Pie delivering a powerful double kick to the stomach. Once that happened, Mysterio shattered like glass into green mist.

After that, there was a green flash and the party girl found herself back in the Mysterium chamber. “It’s over.” She stated. Pinkie saw the open door and ran for the hallway, wanting to get out of here.

However, this wasn’t over yet; Pinkie noticed that the more she ran down the corridor, the longer it got. No matter how fast she ran, the hero couldn’t reach the door.

“So you managed to survive.” Mysterio could be heard again, talking on the intercom. “It doesn’t matter. Alive or dead, you will never escape my world.”

Eventually, Pinkie Pie stopped running; she muttered to herself, “Wait. I have to think about this.” Pinkie concentrated, remembering what she had learnt today. She then remembered how she got here, because Gummy’s eye was looking in the opposite direction.

Pinkie Pie turned around to the other direction, and there it was, the door leading out. “Gummy, I love you.” She stated. Ms Marvel opened the door, to see Friendship Land; except it was a little different.

Certain aspects of the park were now on flying islands, and below them was a bottomless abyss.

And hovering in front of the ferris wheel, Mysterio casted a new spell that split her into eight copies of herself. “You can’t leave!” the Mysterio in the middle stated. “I am infinite.”

Ms Marvel jumped over to the island in the middle, where all the ‘Mysterios’ were; she jumped up again and started punching them out of the air. Like before, if Pinkie took out a Mysterio, they would shatter into glass. Pinkie Pie took out each Mysterio with ease, but the villain began muttering things that were helping Pinkie understand what was really going on.

“No, this is not right!”

“Why am I losing power?!”

“Snails, do something!”

Pinkie was using her stretchy arms to pull herself to each Mysterio and shatter them into mist.

When there was only one left, she hovered in front of the ferris wheel, “We can’t let her do this. GIVE ME EVERYTHING!” the villain cried.

Once again using her stretchy arms, Pinkie Pie grabbed hold of somethings nailed down and sling-shot’ed herself towards Mysterio. The hero grabbed the villain with her giant hand and slammed her right into the ferris wheel, the entire illusion came crashing down, the whole world was glitching.

After one final green and purple flash, Pinkie Pie was once again back in the Mysterium chamber.

But what caught her attention, was the muffled voices coming from the back wall; she placed her hand on the surface, it felt hollow. Making her fist go big again, Pinkie punched right through the wall and into the hidden room. What the hero saw shocked her; Snips and Snails, alive. Snails was fiddling with a computer while Snips stood next to him, wearing VR goggles.

“The sim is down. Get it back!” Snips demanded.

“I’m trying.” Snails replied. That was until Pinkie Pie stretched out her arm and crushed the computer screen with her giant hand.

Snips took off his goggles and tried to explain, “Uh, it was Trixie. She made us do this.”

Ms Marvel replied, “Where is she?”

A muffled voice could suddenly be heard from behind the door on the back wall, “Help. I’m in here.”

Snips suddenly tried to run for it, but Pinkie Pie stretched out her arm and grabbed him by his shirt; she then threw him into Snails, knocking them both to the floor. Pinkie then opened the back door, only to find Trixie tied to a chair, in her prison attire.

“I knew you’d find me.” She muttered.

An hour or so later, the police had arrived; and with Ms Marvel’s help, they were able to clear this whole thing out.

Snips and Snails were arrested for breaking a convict out of prison and then kidnapping that convict; as the police walked the now cuffed Snips and Snails to the police car, Pinkie Pie was sitting with Trixie on the steps of the Mysterium.

“I still have a lot of questions.” Ms Marvel stated.

Detective Spear Head then walked out of the Mysterium, holding an USB stick; it had all the evidence they’d need. He approached the two and explained, “This should clear things up.”

He plugged the stick into a laptop he’d brought with him, the USB showed the security footage from inside the Mysterium; Snips and Snails were seen discussing their plan.

“Okay, we have Trixie locked in the server farm. Now we just need to find a way to get the riches people in the city into this attraction.” Snips explained.

Snails replied, “You know the police, and maybe even the Spiders are going to be looking for her.”

“That’s the best bit. Once you’ve hacked your way into the millionaires’ online bank, while they’re enjoying their illusion, we’ll be able to download millions into are pockets.” Snips explained. “And if the cops or heroes decide to come snooping, we’ll hand over Trixie; tell them we caught her doing the hacking. Trixie goes back to prison, we hand over some of the profit as evidence, but keep enough for us to retire in style.”

After that, the recording ended. Trixie commented, “I didn’t think these two were capable of coming up with something like this.” That made Pinkie Pie chuckle a bit.

The hero turned to her and asked, “So, can I tell people Mysterio’s a good guy now.”

However, Trixie’s mood suddenly changed from relieved to kind of angry, “No, you can tell people she’s gone. I’m finished with that name. For good.”

Despite the circumstances, Trixie was still and escaped convict; Spear Head took out his hand cuffs and placed them on Trixie’s wrists, he then walked her over to his police car to take her back to Rykers.

Pinkie Pie watched Trixie get in the car, all she could say was, “Good luck, Trixie.” With her work done, Ms Marvel went home; the sun was just setting on the city and this superhero could use a rest after all this.

As the sun began to set on Canterlot City, Adam was swinging his way to Twilight’s house; he’d asked to meet on her apartment roof. He had an issue that wasn’t a problem, yet; but needed some attention.

When Spiderman landed on the roof, there was Twilight in her normal attire; Adam removed his mask so the two of them could speak. “Any sign of them.” He asked, but Twilight just shook her head.

Earlier that day, Sunset Shimmer and Fluttershy had gone out into town for the day; but an hour ago, they completely went radio-silent. Twilight hadn’t heard from Sunset and Adam hadn’t heard from Fluttershy.

“Where could they be?” Twilight asked.

Suddenly, Adam’s phone started ringing; he took the device out of his pocket from under his suit and checked the caller ID, it was Fluttershy. “That’s her.” He stated before answering, “Hello, sweetheart.”

“Bad news.” Fluttershy replied. “We’ve found something. A van that belongs to the True Humans, it was parked in an alley next to the mall.”

Spidey replied, “And where are you now?” That’s when Adam thought for a second, he didn’t want to believe it, but it really seemed possible. “Please tell me you’re not in the van.”

There was a moment of silence before Fluttershy replied, “I’m sorry honey, it was Sunset’s idea. I think we’re on our way to their hideout.”

“As soon as you get there, text me the location and then get out of sight.” Adam calmly ordered. “I love you, be safe.”

Fluttershy quickly replied, “I will. I love you too.”

When the phone hanged up, Adam turned back to Twilight and explained the situation, “It appears our girls have gotten into some trouble.” After that, Twilight went to change into her suit and the two Spiders waited for the location; this could be their chance to stop this gang for good.

“Was this really a good idea?”

Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer were hiding in the back of the True Humans’ van, on their way to their base of operation, wherever that was.

Sunset replied, “We were never going to get another shot like this. Plus, we’re part of this super-team too; if we’d have told Adam or Twilight, they would have just told us to go home and chain ourselves to my laptop.” Fluttershy could see she had a point, in terms of action and missions, it did seem like them two were always the ones left at ‘mission control’.

Suddenly, the van stopped; they’d arrived. The two gang members in the front seat got out of the truck to unload the supplies; as one guy walked away, the other went to the back of the van.

“I’ll get the gear.” He said.

The two girls could hear the guy coming, they had to be ready; Fluttershy moved out of the way, and Sunset positioned herself in front of the door. When it sounded like the guy was opening the door, Sunset kicked the door open for him, whacking him with it and knocking the criminal out.

Hearing the commotion, the other True Human ran back over to the van and saw Sunset now; before he could run and tell the others, Sunset ran after him and tackled him to the ground. With one quick punch to his masked face, the guy was knocked out to.

After that incident, Fluttershy looked up to see where they were, it was a zoo; the old abandoned zoo outside the city, across the river. Once they were sure it was clear, Fluttershy took out her phone and texted Adam and Twilight the location.

Sunset however, was already thinking of going to look around, but Fluttershy tried to stop her. “Wait, where are you going?” she asked.

The red-haired girl replied, “I’m going to look around. We need to know what’s here so we can tell our loves; they could be swinging right into a trap.”

Fluttershy could see that Sunset had a point, this whole place could have been rigged; the pink-haired girl agreed and followed closely behind her friend. They were able to get in through a smashed window; however, there was a True Human inside.

Quickly ducking for cover behind a work bench, the two girls hid from the patroller. But it wasn’t for long, when the thug had his back turned, Sunset snuck up behind him and took him out; she grabbed him and held her arm around his neck and her other hand over his mouth, she felt him getting limper as he drifted off to sleep.

Seeing what she just did, Fluttershy asked Sunset, “How did you do that?”

“You pick up a few things dating a superhero.” Sunset replied.

Before the two could leave the room, Fluttershy noticed something on the wall. It was a whiteboard, with photos, drawings and newspaper clippings; they were all about Man-Wolf. The drawings explained his skills and strengths, some even showed weaknesses.

Fluttershy whispered, “Man-Wolf, oh my. They want to kill him too.”

The two girls found the exit to the room, they began sneaking their way through the zoo, listening out for any threat that comes there way. Their little journey consisted of crawling under tables and climbing over crates of supplies, all so the True Humans wouldn’t notice them; this place was crawling with gang members.

However, as they made their way over a plank of wood that crossed a hole in the building’s floor, the plank snapped in half; the two girls fell into another room filled with boxes of guns and weapons. Also, there was a guard in the room, she saw them fall in and aimed her gun in their direction.

The gang member was able to fire a shot, the bullet flew past the girls and unfortunately cut Sunset on the arm; as she quietly screamed in pain, Fluttershy fought back. She rolled across the floor and tripped the thug up with her legs, once the True Human was down, the pink-haired girl kicked the criminal in the face and knocked her out.

Once the threat was out of the way, Fluttershy ran over to make sure her friend was okay. She knelt down to check Sunset’s wound, “Are you okay?” she asked, taking off Sunset’s leather jacket to check her arm.

Sunset replied, “Yeah, it’s just a scratch. The bullet just grazed me.”

Fluttershy then took something out of her pocket she could use for a bandage, it was Adam’s spare glasses wipe. She tied the piece of cloth around the cut on Sunset’s arm, “That should do until we get you to a doctor.” The animal girl explained.

Once the little medical drama was done, Sunset turned to the side and noticed something in the next room. The two girls got up and walked through the door, there they found something quite unnatural.

It was a display case hanging on the wall, inside the case was a set of large red bird wings, they were huge. Beside the case was a work bench, on the bench was papers and documents, all referring to Red Feather.

Red Feather was one of the city’s rich tycoons, but secretly, he was one of the city’s most infamous crime bosses; he called himself the Owl. He was also effected by the energon explosion fives years ago, the energon changed his physical form, making him grow large red owl wings.

Fluttershy began to slightly panic, she muttered to her friend, “Are these....” the two knew all about Owl, from when Filthy Rich kidnapped the other crime-lord in order to steal their turf.

Sunset Shimmer could only reply, “Yes, I think they are.”

While looking through the papers, Sunset found an audio-recorder; wanting answers, she pressed play.

Tombstone’s voice could suddenly be heard, “Another day, another night with nothing but the silence of death. I wasn’t sure I could clip his wings, I was never one for flyers. But no, not even that could save him.”

“He’s dead.” Sunset stated after putting the recorder down.

There was nothing else they could do here, so the girls kept moving through the True Human base.

As the two began to exit the main building and into the large courtyard, they heard a strange but familiar noise; a were-wolf’s howl. The two ducked behind a bench, where they could see a cage in the centre of the courtyard; inside the cage, was Man-Wolf himself.

The wolf-man had a chain tied around his neck, the cage had really thick bars, he wasn’t getting out of there any time soon. Not only that, but True Humans were patrolling everywhere; a lot of them were armed.

“We have to get him out of there.” Fluttershy stated.

But Sunset replied, “What? Are you crazy?”

“If we leave him in there, they’ll kill him.” The pink-haired girl explained. “He may be bad, but he doesn’t deserve this. You remember what Adam told us, it’s not his fault he’s the way he is.”

Sunset agreed to what she was saying, they had to save Man-Wolf; the cage looked like it took a keypad code, the girls just needed to find the code. The two girls suddenly overheard something, something useful.

“Check the codes, make sure you wrote them all down properly.”

One of the True Humans was going towards the reptile house, it sounded like that’s where they’d find the code to the cage; so they waited for the right moment, and snuck their way over to the building.

The two would continue to duck behind cover, in order to avoid being seen by the True Humans, but they kept moving across the courtyard. As they snuck past the thugs, they could hear the conversations the criminals were having.

“I can’t wait for this one. Its been too long since we’ve taken down a beast this mighty.” one of them said.

Another thug said, “They’ll probably put us in the history books. The True Humans, saviours of Canterlot City.”

When the small group of gang-members moved away from the area, the girls got a proper look at the work bench they were next to. Sunset went for a better look at the contents of the bench, the strangest thing she found was a purple and green robot arm.

“Are they... experimenting with Smythe’s tech?” She asked. She was referring to Allister Smythe, aka the Spider Slayer.

Sunset then found another audio-recorder, she played the message and could hear Tombstone again, “This one. Waste of time if you ask me; not even a proper Meta-Human. Maybe his tech will come in handy.”

“This is terrible.” Sunset stated, Smythe was dead too.

Once they saw it was clear, Fluttershy and Sunset made a break for it, right towards the building that they believed the key code was in. Now they were inside, they could see a white board on the back wall; on it were number codes and the items they went to, the girls could see the code for Man-Wolf’s cage. Before they could leave again, Fluttershy noticed something she wanted to see; but it was a bad move.

When she stepped out of her hiding place, a True Human who was in the room instantly noticed her. “Hey you.” He stated. But before he could alert the others to his discovery, Sunset jumped out from her hiding spot and grabbed the thug in her sleeper hold; once the guy was out, the girls were okay again.

Now that the threat had been dealt with, Fluttershy walked over to what she noticed; on another work bench, she found Juggernaut’s helmet, cracked in half.

The pink-haired girl said, “Oh no. He didn’t deserve this.” As well as the helmet on the table, there was also a computer screen with a picture of Bulk Bicep; one with a caption that read ‘DECEASED’. Another recording device was then found next to the helmet, containing another message from this gang’s leader.

“This one was a different story. We lost three good men taking this man down, and what a fight it was. He didn’t fight to win, or for glory; he fought only to survive. And as the life left his eyes, I could still see it; the ambition that he might get back up and kill us all. But no.”

The two girls couldn’t stomach much more of this, all of this killing, it was getting out of hand. They knew what they needed to do, Fluttershy and Sunset had to get to Man-Wolf and free him, before he ended up like the others. Now that they had the code, the girls snuck back across the courtyard to the cage in the centre.

Avoiding the guards, the girls reached the cage; they could see Man-Wolf hiding in the corner, like a scared animal in the wild. After Sunset punched in the code to open the cage door, Fluttershy entered the cage and tried to calm Man-Wolf down, using her knowledge of animals.

“There, there; it’s okay.” She explained. “It’s Jacob, right. We won’t hurt you.”

Some how, the were-wolf suddenly felt calm; but he was confused as to why she was not afraid of him. Man-Wolf remembered this girl from a long time ago, he and Pyro once kidnapped this girl in order to draw out Spiderman. As Fluttershy got closer, the were-wolf carefully moved closer to her; he could suddenly feel her stroking his fur.

“You know this beast?”

Fluttershy and Sunset quickly turned around to see Tombstone standing outside the cage; when Man-Wolf saw him, he growled.

“This ‘person’ is called Jacob. And he didn’t ask for any of this.” Fluttershy stated.

Sunset suddenly went to attack Tombstone, she ran up to him and tried to hit his face; but the villain fought back, he grabbed her arm and threw her to Fluttershy. Watching Tombstone attack these two girls just made Man-Wolf growl more, but he could not get free from the chain around his neck.

Tombstone pulled a knife from his belt, “I wanted this to be a bit more sporting. But if anyone asks, I’ll lie.”

Without warning, a web-line came out of nowhere and grabbed Tombstone’s knife, pulling it from his hand. The criminal turned to see Spiderman and Spider-Girl standing on the other side of the cage bars, having just knocked out two of his gang members.

“Sorry we’re late.” Spidey stated.

Tombstone just put his fingers to his lips and whistled, calling the rest of his gang to the scene. When the rest of the True Humans ran towards the cage, Tombstone just walked past them to get out of the way; he gave an order to his crew, “No freak leaves here alive.”

The two Spider-Heroes jumped in the path between the True Humans and the girls; Twilight turned to them and explained, “Stay inside with Man-Wolf. We’ll handle this.” With that said, the battle began.

Spiderman started by pulling a thug forward with his web and then punching him into the air, he jumped up after him and began punching and kicking him until he was knocked out. Twilight was continuingly webbing up the gang members and then kicking them into each other, some were sticking to the floor, but others were getting back up.

“This gang must have a death wish.” Spider-Girl stated. “First Pyro, now Man-Wolf.”

Adam replied, “Seems like they’re just doing their boss’ dirty work.”

One guy, the two heroes took out at the same time; he charged for Spiderman, but the wall-crawler pulled him forward as he fell onto his back, Adam then kicked the thug away. This allowed Twilight to kick him from behind and send him flying across the courtyard.

Man-Wolf was getting tired of just waiting to be either rescued or killed, so with all of his were-wolf strength, he bit down on the chain that was holding him and was finally able to break it. Now he was free, he pushed past Sunset Shimmer and Fluttershy and escaped the cage.

The True Humans noticed their prisoner was escaping, some of them turned their weapons onto him, but he was too quick. After a few powerful jumps, Man-Wolf escaped; he jumped over the walls of the zoo and got away. There was nothing left for the heroes here, they could come back and deal with the True Humans another time.

Spiderman and Spider-Girl nodded to each other in agreement, they both jumped to where the girls were and grabbed hold of their respective partners; once Fluttershy and Sunset were in their arms, the Spider-Heroes fired web-lines to swing away.

Seeing it was pointless to pursue, the True Humans just let the Spiders go; but their boss was not happy. Tombstone walked amongst his crew, watching the Spider-Heroes swing away; they had cost him his latest kill.

Without warning, something came flying down from the sky; as it landed, Tombstone watched it revert back to it’s humanoid form. Morbius, the Living Vampire approached his partner with an update, “Every thing’s ready. We can move as soon as you say.”

Tombstone chuckled at that statement, he’d been looking forward to this; he replied, “Tomorrow night. We end the Meta-human plague once and for all.”
