"Could I speak to you for a moment, dear?"
"Cadance" requested she speak with her groom in private, much to Twilight's chagrin.
"Better see what she wants."
As Shining Armor walked inside the broom closet with "his bride", Twilight eaves dropped on their conversation.
"I thought I made it perfectly clear I didn't want you to wear that."
"This was my favorite uncles."
"And?"
"And I think I should wear it."
"Are you disagreeing with me?"
"I guess I am! And I think you should be more respectable of what I choose to wear! Don't you care how I feel about that dear?"
Chrysalis was surprised by Shining Armor's resistance to her control, she had never seen a victim resist her power to this degree. And there was something about the captain's resilience that Chrysalis found..... Attractive.....
"I.... Didn't know you cared so much dear....."
"Well I do! All I ask is that you-" Shining Armor suddenly felt a slight headache from his forehead, as "Cadance" stared in remorse.....
"So sorry about this dear......" She lamented, before casting a spell on Shining Armor that caused his eyes to loop around, as Twilight watched in shock and horror.
"She's not just unpleasant and rude, she's downright evil!" Twilight quietly exclaimed, as she ran off to warn her friends.
"Twilight?" Shining called to his little sister, as he and "Cadance" stepped out of the closet.
Chrysalis was in contemplation on what she was going to do now. She knew she had to feed her subjects, but was it worth it hurting someone she had developed an affection for?....
Later.....
Twilight was sitting atop the alter, crying for believing that her foalsitter was an evil witch who wanted to hurt her brother.
Until eventually, she was approached by the sound of hoof steps, and soon felt a gently rub on her head, as she saw "Cadance" comforting her with a warm smile.
"I'm sorry." Twilight desperately apologized.
"There there, it's not your fault Twilight." "Cadance" assured the depressed unicorn.
"But it is, I wrongfully accused of you being a nasty pony when really you were just going through a lot of stress."
"No, really Twilight! It's not your fault! I-...... I didn't give you much reason to trust me, and I wasn't as inviting as I should have been.... I don't blame you for reaching that 'absurd' conclusion...."
"But you didn't deserve to have me lash out at you in front of everypony during the rehearsal! That wasn't right..... Could you ever forgive me?....."
"Of course I forgive you, you don't need to beat yourself up over it.... Tell you what, let me talk to your brother and I'll try to convince him to let you attend the wedding."
"But I don't deserve to-"
"Please, it's the least I can do. You didn't deserve to see my..... 'bridezilla' side....." "Cadance" assured, as Twilight looked on in ponderation.....
"Ok....." Twilight agreed, before she walked away from the alter.
Chrysalis had never felt this way before. She knew she could have just imprisoned Twilight so she wouldn't interfere with her plans, but after developing such a strong emotional connection to her brother, it would feel so disrespectful to do so even if he didn't know about it.
It was a new feeling. A warm, fuzzy, feeling that lightened the changeling queen's blackened heart.
And as she left the alter to convince Shining Armor to let Twilight stay, she couldn't help but let out a small, genuine grin of pleasantness....
Later....
Chrysalis hummed to herself as she placed a rose on her head while starring into her reflection.
This feeling made her feel incredibly relaxed, no amount of love drained could give her this feeling of happiness that she strived for.
However, she was interrupted by something glowing underneath her gown.
She levitated the objects with her horn, and saw that the changeling communicators was glowing.
She placed the seeds on the ground, which activated the communication, and saw that it was a call from her subjects.
"My queen, what is taking so long? We've been waiting for the shield to break for hours! What is going on back there?" A changeling drone confronted.
"Well, I've been thinking..... Can't the invasion wait just a little longer?...."
"What?...."
"I mean, it's not like it'll be the end of the hive if it is hold off for just, a couple weeks....."
"You stated that this is the biggest food source you've ever encountered! And now you want to hold off our feeding for weeks?! And also, I sense that you are still weak, why haven't you drained the groom of the amount of love you should've gotten?"
"Well..... I mean, would it be really wrong if I?.... You know....."
"No....... Don't tell me you actually fell in LOVE with the hapless unicorn. You know the code my queen! Never-"
"Yes never fall in love I know! But he is unlike any other victim that I tried to drain before.... He is strong.... He is firm.... He is ridiculously handsome...." Chrysalis gushed just thinking about Shining Armor.
"Chrysalis, you have a kingdom to feed! It is your duty that you drain the groom of his love so that the spell will be broken so we can feed! Doesn't the lives of YOUR CHILDREN mean anything to you?!"
"OF COURSE YOUR LIVES MATTER TO ME!..... I just don't see why it should mean hurting someone I've grown to..... Love....."

"You have one, day, Chrysalis. We cannot stay like this for much longer. Make it count."
The drones ceased communication with their queen, as she glanced to the side in worried disbelief.....
Later....
The wedding officially begun, as ponies lined up in the crowd to witness two royals join in holy matripony.
"Cadance" was able to convince Shining Armor to let Twilight at least stay for the wedding, and to give her a chance despite her behavior earlier.
Twilight made up with her friends and apologized for earlier, as they all group hugged together in understanding.
As "Cadance" stared lovingly into Shining's eyes, she felt so happy that she almost forgot about.....
"Princess Cadance and Shining Armor, it is my great pleasure to pronounce you-!"
"STOP THE WEDDING!!!"
Everypony gasped in shock and horror, as Princess Cadance stepped through the door, looking incredibly furious.
Chrysalis was shocked to see that Cadance had escaped the caves all by herself.
"I don't understand! How can there be two of her?"
"She's a changeling! She takes the form of somepony you love and gains power by feeding off your love for them!"
"What?!" Shining Armor stepped back from what he thought to be his bride, as Chrysalis wore a nervous expression on her face.
Twilight's eyes widened in realization that she had been right for the wrong reasons, as her friends stared at her regretting that they didn't believe her.
"She imprisoned me in the Canterlot caves so she could drain my groom of his love!"
As everypony stared at the changeling in disbelief and shock, Chrysalis gave a sigh of reluctance, as she removed her disguise.
Everypony was horrified at the presence of a giant insectoid creature they have never seen before.
"I am Chrysalis, queen of the changelings! And yes, I did intend to drain the groom for energy. But while I took your place, I could see why you felt so attached to the captain of the guard...."
Everypony was confused on what the changeling meant.
"What?! He's MY groom!" Cadance yelled at her impersonator.
"Exactly! Did you actually think I would want to be with you?....."
Chrysalis teared up in doubt, knowing full well that he was right. After imprisoning his bride and taking over her life, there was no way the captain would want to be with someone like her.
"That explains why she was nice to me earlier....."
The other ponies stared at Twilight in confusion.
"When I was left at the alter, she could have imprisoned me with Cadance while I was alone, but she didn't.... She must have gone through some kind of change in attitude after experiencing the feeling, of love....."
Cadance and Shining Armor could only stare at the queen in shock and bewilderment, as she looked at the ground embarrassed.
However, because Chrysalis still drained Shining Armor of some of his love, it left the captain's spell partly weakened.
The ponies looked outside to see a swarm of changelings trying to bust down the shield with all their might, which was powerful enough to leave cracks in it.
Eventually, the shield was broken into a million pieces, and the changelings swarmed Canterlot in massive numbers.
"Time's up my queen." A drone stated buzzing near Chrysalis.
"Get the elements! Use their power to repel the swarm!" Celestia ordered the mane six, but changeling guards blocked the entrance before they could leave the room.
"I don't have enough strength to repel them....." Shining Armor lamented.
"My love will give you strength." Cadance assured Shining Armor, as he stared at the queen in doubt.
Chrysalis could only give a nod of conformation, as she stared at the ground with her head kneeled....
Cadance and Shining Armor then begun to share their magic, which resulted in an aura engulfing them both, as they were lifted from the ground.
Twilight and her friends watched in awe as the bride and groom used their love as a weapon.
Eventually, the couple's love was so powerful it blasted a wave of energy throughout Canterlot.
The changelings had little time to react before they were sent flying away from the capital at high speeds.
Chrysalis could only give a sigh of contemplation, before she too was sent flying away with the rest of the changeling hive.
As Cadance and Shining Armor were held back onto the ground, they hugged in loving embrace.
Meanwhile, as the changelings landed back to their own kingdom, the swarm stared at their queen with contempt in their eyes.
"We were THIS close, and YOU had to develop feelings for that inferior HORSE."
"Hey! Leave her alone! She was only experiencing what it was like to SHARE love instead of taking it!"
The other changelings turned to see the one defending the queen for her weakness.
"And what gives YOU the right to commend her for showing WEAKNESS to our enemies?"
"They are NOT our enemies! I know that there is a better solution to our hunger crisis!"
"And what would that be?...."
"We share our love."
The changelings turned to their queen when she suggested that.
"I felt how amazing it was to give someone else love I shared for them rather then taking all their love for myself, it was.... More delicious then having to take it..... It felt..... satisfying....."
The changelings chatted amongst themselves in contemplation.
"I think what she's trying to say is that we should feed ourselves the love we share for each other, so that we are always satisfied...."
"Thorax is right, it is an easier solution...."
The changelings stared at each other, giving the idea some thought....
Eventually, a wave of energy released from their chests as they floated in the air and were wrapped in cocoons.
And as Chrysalis did the same, she realized that if she hadn't fallen for the groom, this wonderful gift never would have happened to her....
She actually felt accomplished.....
