I don't consider myself a good writer so please be nice. a few notes, this is a Final Fantasy 14 crossover with a few references to other stuff. it's also a My Little Mages world, so all the ponies look human at first glance. what separates the three tribes visually is what I call Tribe Marks, which they are born with. Unicorns have a mark on their forehead that are shaped like gems and produce an ethereal horn when they use magic Pegasi have wing marks on their backs that produce ethereal wings for flight and Earth Ponies have marks on the hands and feet. As for clothes, Pegasi keep their backs bare for their wings and Earth Ponies go bare foot. there are also holes on both sides of pants and skirts to show cutie marks Waking Night Mare Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land. To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn; the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies. But the sisters had a friend, a dragon named Tiamat. A curious one, she could be reckless and adventurous one moment and wise beyond her years the next. The three had played together since before the sisters had their cutie marks and the dragon her wings. As they grew older, they took on more responsibilities. The sisters ruled as princesses and the dragon as a dragon lord. They had less time to spend together but still kept in touch, ready to offer aid if one of them need it. Then, one day, the sisters were alerted to a large dragon approaching their castle a great speeds. They went to intercept this dragon, for they knew not all were as kind as their dear friend. When the dragon came in sight; they discovered it WAS their friend. Tiamat crashed down before them for she was gravely wounded. The sisters rushed to her side and Tiamat gave them an egg. "Please take care of my child" she said before falling unconscious. The sisters moved their friend to a cave she had made for when she visited her pony friends. They tended to her wounds but she would not wake up, having fallen into a deep slumber. The two sisters vowed to care for the dragon egg until its mother reawakened. It was on the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration and the ponies were preparing for the festivities. The sun had just set with the moon rising to take its place. While the ponies were enjoying the celebration, something awoke in a cave in the Everfree Forest. "Ugh" moaned the waking creature. She stretched her green-scaled form, her large wings spread out nearly touching opposite walls of the cave. Beneath, gold and jewels shifted from her movement. "What time is it? How long was I out?" She took a peek out the cave entrance. "Okay, so its nighttime, but nighttime when?" She was about to pull her head back in when she did a double-take, looking at the moon or rather its surface where the image of the mare in the moon was. "That isn't good" First Dragon-View Seeing what was on the moon, things obviously didn't go well for Luna. I thought my talks with her might change things but apparently not. My name is Tiamat, or at least it is now. I am a reincarnator , a repeat reincarnator. I was originally from earth but have lived in over a dozen different worlds, many I knew from works of fiction. My Little Pony was one of those works. In those stories of a person being reborn in a world they thought was fantasy; they either try to change things or try to keep them same. I'm of the former, I don't believe in fate and after what I've been through, my word carries a lot of weight on the subject. But I digress, I tried to change things and depending on when I am, will continue to do so. "But first things first, I need to find out what happened to my child" I left my cave, sealing it up so thieves won't try and take my treasures, and took flight. I headed for Celestia and Luna's old castle, which if I'm right is now just some old ruins. As I flew, I felt a shift in the aether. I looked up to see the mare in the moon was gone. "Luna's back" I muttered. I shifted forms, choosing one for speed, hoping to catch my old friend before the Mane 6 make it to the castle. When I had arrived, I shifted again, this time take a small humanoid form (with clothes materializing) so I don't draw any attention.... and so I could fit through the door. The castle was in ruins like I thought. It was sad, I had so many memories here playing with Tia and Lulu. I made my way to the throne room and there stood Luna dressed in black armor. "Hey there" I called out, her back to me. She turned and here eyes widened as she recognized me. "Tiamat, you're awake" "Yeah, just now. Seems I've been out for quite a while" I said, making a show of looking around the crumbling room. "A thousand years" she responded tersely. "Really?! looks like things have changed in that time. Love the Dark of the Moon theme you got going on there, by the way." "what do you want?" "Can't I just visit my old friend without another reason?" She raised an eyebrow, obviously not buying it. "Okay" I held up my hands in surrender "I want to know what happened to my egg" After her initial surprise, Luna face had remained impassive with little change. But this time I saw a glimmer of something else. sympathy guilt regret But it quickly disappeared. "I don't know what happened to it. I've been gone a thousand years as well." Her voice gained a sharp edge. "The ponies rejected my night and when I tried to force them to see it, Celestia banished me to the moon." She yelled as her face twisted in anger. I stood there looking at her. I knew what would happen. I could've done more to prevent it. "I'm sorry, I wasn't there for you, Luna" She stared at me in shock, mouth open. After several silent seconds she turned away and said "I'm not Luna anymore, I'm Nightmare Moon." "You'll always be Luna to me. My best friend" I responded. She didn't turn back to me but said "In the village outside the forest, I saw a baby dragon. His magic felt like yours" Spike "Thankyou" I said and left to throne room. At this point it would better to let things play out like in canon. After leaving the castle I brought out my wings and once more took to the skies. As I made my way to what would only be Ponyville, I spied six ponies making their way through the trees. "This is their moment, mine is up ahead" I arrived Ponyville, the ponies were no nowhere to be seen, most likely hiding in their homes. I made my way to the treehouse library and landed on the second floor sundeck. The glass door was unlocked so I invited myself in. And there I saw him, sleeping in a large basket bed. Luna said his magic felt like mine, but I didn't know for sure if he was MY child or just a descendant. But now that he was right in front of me every instinct in my blood said Yes, this is my son. "*mumble* Nightmare...." He tossed and turned in his sleep. His dreams seem troubled. I sat down on the floor beside him and stroked his head singing a song I sang when he was just an egg. "Looks like everything worked out" When the sun's rays came through the glass and landed on Spike, he began to stir. This is it, I'm going to meet my son.... ..who has been growing up without me and probably has no idea who I am and might find it a little disconcerting that a strange person has been watching over him as he slept! My thoughts began to spiral and I panicked as the reality of what was about the happen set in and I hid.
