Chapters Prologue: Caught on the Edge
Every quarter, without fail, Midnight Dagger experienced the same bullshit. Her rotation with the Shadowbolt Reserves brought the gray batpony mare to HQ for a weeklong training regimen, and—every time—she would be forced to relive the same annoying failures: some twat would gawk over her perfectly normal wings, her height would become an issue, and she’d feel the insatiable need to put somepony in its place.
Apparently, the Shadowbolts had not gotten the memo the last time around and decided to bank two of those achievements during the process of checking in. The lime-green colt stationed at the registration desk stared at her wings in total silence for half a minute and then peered up at her towering figure to stretch that eternity well into the domain of discomfort.
She fashioned a scowl around her vibrant blue eyes, snapped her tail with a powerful flick, and slammed her black duffel bag atop the desk’s purple laminate. “I’ll take my key now,” she grunted, not wanting to bask in the idiocy any longer.
“Y-Yeah—” came the stumbling response as sloppy hooves scrambled through sheets of paper. The poor boy fumbled several golden keys before he triumphantly held up one attached to a diamond-shaped tag. “Midnight Dagger, you’re in Room 4 with Wing.”
“Wing,” she mumbled, scrunching her muzzle while her studded ear wiggled from the mounting curiosity. She snatched the key with one of her wing thumbs, chucked her bag onto her back, and trotted off. “What kind of name is that? Who in fuckin’ Tartarus would name their daughter Wing…”
The clean, modern lines of the tiled lobby gave way to a bolt-motif carpet and light-tan walls better suited for a hotel than a training ground. Not like she would complain. After enduring the hours of travel and the moron at reception, Middy wanted a bed to claim, and nothing was going to stop that. At least, that’s what the mare had hoped when she popped the deadbolt to #4 only to find the golden-brown gaze of a pegasus stallion waiting on the other side.
“Oh, fuck no.”
Stretched out on one of the two double beds, Wing blinked at the silhouette parked at the door’s threshold. The shadow only lingered there for a moment before it vanished as swiftly as it had arrived, leaving Wing in an unsettling aftermath where he pondered what exactly he could have done to deserve such an emphatic response. Though, during the fifth replay in his head, something clicked about the tone of his roommate’s voice.
Wing confirmed that hypothesis minutes later once Midnight returned. The contours of her cascading blue mane unraveled as she paced across the room in a brewing, festering huff that commenced the instant she dumped her heavy bag on the unoccupied mattress. Brief snippets of comprehension rose above the waves of barely uttered breaths that dripped from the batpony’s muzzle, and Wing knew well enough not to make an unsolicited intrusion upon an upset mare in the middle of a crisis.
“They won’t give me another room!” Planting a forehoof onto the carpet, she spun to glare at the sprawled Wing. “I’m a bucking mare! What is so damn hard to understand about that? I am not a stallion. I’m tall. Have they never seen the princesses? Do they seriously not grasp this? It’s the same incompetence every single time.”
Wing kept his sights homed in on her blue irises while the crisp punctuation that sandwiched the final three words drilled into his ears. Scorned sighs followed, betraying Midnight’s frustration to the one pony she likely had no desire to interact with at all. Still, the prone flier had the lingering suspicion that ignoring the elephant in the room would yield an even worse result.
Sitting up, the faded-lavender pegasus combed back his jet-black mane, flashed a quirky smile, and spoke, “Sounds like they screwed it up and aren’t willing to fix it.”
“No shit, Genius,” Midnight bit back. “What possibly gave you that idea?”
Wing timidly held up his forehooves. “The superposition of you and my knowledge of government bureaucracy.”
Midnight tilted her head at the response and blinked.
“Look, I get that it sucks,” the stallion continued, seizing whatever opportunity his nerdiness could garner. “Being stuck in a room with a stranger, especially a random guy, and especially at an event like this, is probably the last thing you want. You have every right to be pissed off. That said, I’m here to fly, so, if we’re going to be partners for a week, I’ll do whatever I can to make sure this situation isn’t a distraction.”
She blinked again, and the slightest hints of a smile began to tug at the corners of her lips. For the first time since she had started this trip, a pony hadn’t given her the odd stare or brainrotted over her physique. He was weird, but he probably wasn’t an asshole. He— was not formally introduced!“I’m Midnight Dagger.”
“Wing.” The stallion flashed another dopey grin. “I’m not sure if I should say it’s nice to meet you when the circumstances clearly suck, but I do hope that we have a good time flying together in spite of them.”
With another wave of calm eroding the awkward tension, the mare turned towards her bed and unzipped the gigantic black bag. “Most of the time, when I get called in here, ponies want to keep tabs on the bat or want to get my pussy. It’s annoying, but at least you’re bucking the trend.”
Wing snorted and rolled off his bed. “Well, it’s like you already said. I have seen the princesses. My lab partner is also a batpony, so I have endured more than a fair share of her mischief. There’s simply no need to keep tabs on something like that, especially not when I’m here to be the best flier.”
For a brief moment, Midnight Dagger paused her unpacking. She turned her attention to another compartment and glanced over at Wing to shoot a playful grin. “That’s too bad for you then because I’m the best flier here, and there is no way I’m losing to a nerd with a lab partner. You’re going to have to get used to being my wingpony, but I guess it’s just as admirable to shoot for being my Number Two.”
Her grin broadened when her hoof finally found the smooth metal bits she had been searching for. “Did you mean it when you said you’d do whatever you can to make me feel comfortable during this shitshow?”
“Promise.” He nodded. “I’m here for flying… not for, you know, chasing after your pussy.”
“Prove it,” she countered, challenging her roommate. She pulled her hoof from the bag and pitched a lockable chastity cage onto his mattress. “Put it on and give me the key.”
Wing still wasn’t sure if the cage worked well with his Shadowbolt uniform or not, but a promise was a promise. In the morning, he had performed quite the interpretive dance in front of the bathroom mirror to assess what the tight-fitting apparel revealed. A clumsy sequence of poses and pivots, the choreography managed to extract a series of giggles from his roommate as well, which painted a flustered blush across the stallion’s cheeks.
“If you keep acting like that, maybe I’ll keep the key instead.” The echoes of that teasing memory made him flutter, and a slow, burning breath streamed out of his flared nostrils. The morning’s experiment had at least determined that the suit concealed the equipment well, but—now that he was out on the field—he found that it also provided enough pressure to yield repeated reminders that the cage was there. Every stretch, every turn, every stroke—he was caged.
“You’re never going to be better than me with your head in the clouds,” Midnight yanked her partner out of his thoughts. “It’s your turn to take lead, and I’d rather not eat shit on a cliff.”
Snapping his neck to the taller pony, Wing jolted. “Eh, sorry,” he replied, briefly rubbing the back of his head. “It’s, you know, a bit—”
“Didn’t you say no distractions?” she teased again, wiggling her brows while Wing pursed his lips. “Surely, the best in the world can handle a little extra metal.”
“You’re right. You’re right,” Wing admitted with a heavy sigh. He stretched and shook out his limbs before crouching. “We’ll hit the obstacle course first, then double back over the grass field and arc out to hit the cliff range. There are some canyons I like. Just swap from the usual four o’clock position to seven when we near the face. It’ll be better for the turns.”
Slumping on the floor with his suit half open, Wing groaned, “The first day is always a bitch.” The exhausted stallion shuddered, his limbs quaking in lactic acid misery. His shoulders and wing joints twitched, and his lungs still fought through an onslaught despite having trekked from the flight grounds.
Midnight Dagger simply peered down at her partner and smirked. The blue-maned batpony fared far better than her pegasus counterpart, and she couldn’t help but feel a little taste of victory when it came to her performance.
“A physicist’s life is too sedentary,” Wing chimed with some additional commentary that subdued the mare’s swelling sense of pride. “I really need to get out of the lab more.”
“So, you were actually serious about that? You work in a lab for your day job?” Midnight asked as she vanished into the bathroom.
Wing waited for a few seconds while the sound of running water sent his ears into a gentle sway. His roommate emerged shortly after and placed a filled glass by his muzzle.
“Drink up,” she commanded, meeting his upturned gaze with a soft smile and a wink. “I can’t have my wingpony all dehydrated and tired.”
Pushing himself up, Wing corralled the cup with his namesake. “Mm, thanks. Hopefully, I’ll be in better shape during our next flight runs. As for your question”—he took a sip—“yes, I work in a lab in Canterlot. Sometimes I teach at the university or take a few students. It’s fun, but it’s not exactly a career that keeps you fit.”
Midnight hummed to herself and sat down on the edge of her bed. “Wow, you really are a nerd then! That opens up a lot of questions but explains a lot too.”
“And what might those be?” Wing probed once another sip of water slid down his throat.
“First”—the mare leaned forward—“what the actual fuck are you doing here? It doesn’t sound like you have to be, not with a job like that. But then, you also know your stuff. Don’t get me wrong. I’m still the best flier here. It’s just that good work is good work. You calculated your route, and you calculated it for me too. That’s talent.”
Heat swept across the colt’s muzzle when he fell victim to Midnight’s flustering antics once more. His hold on the glass tightened as he gave her his undivided attention, and his feathers pulsed with new life. “I guess I have lots of excuses not to be here, but I chose to be here all the same.
“I like pushing myself, and that comes with responsibilities. I think there are three types of ponies in the world: those who are the best, those who pretend to be the best, and those who admit that they’re not. The second category is where we get our dangerous dipshits. I’m not playing pretend. You were my wingpony today, so it was my responsibility to put you on the best path to shine—just like it was your responsibility to have my back.”
“I don’t know if that’s profound or profound bullshit,” the uniformed batpony replied with a chuckle, “but there’s no denying you put in the work today. You look like an absolute mess right now.”
Wing laughed. “Well, my ex loves to remind me that I’m the dumbest smart person she knows, so saying profoundly profound bullshit definitely fits the narrative.” He rolled his shoulders and squinted as the aches accompanied the uncomfortable sensation of sweat lingering beneath his loosened suit. “We should probably take showers and get some food before it gets too late. At this rate, I’ll start asking questions about you too, and that is a dangerous game that’s already tempting. After all, you haven’t told me what you do outside the Reserves yet, and I’m curious what kind of mare worries about stallions hitting on her but packs a chastity cage anyway.”
“Sweetheart, I have the word dagger in my name. Use your fucking imagination.” Snickering, Midnight sauntered towards the shower. She loitered by the door before entering the bathroom and planted one of her forelegs along the wall. A mischievous expression shaped the contours of her countenance, and her normal timbre yielded to something far more sultry. “Worry has nothing to do with it. I don’t like it when morons waste my time with their egos. I pack things on the off-chance I meet somepony who isn’t a moron.”
By the end of the week, Wing had survived the onslaught of Middy’s teasing along with the strain of the camp workouts. He genuinely felt like his old self on the final day of flying—as though the weight of years had been lifted off his body. Despite that, however, he had to admit that his partner was undeniably the best flier there.
Her wings generated an inspiring amount of power. Where others gaped at her height, all he saw was a pony in control of her body and capable of amazing things. The duo swept through the obstacle courses with towering corkscrews, timed barrel rolls, and sharp aileron ones. Rings passed by in streaking blurs, but—no matter the velocity—he kept pace with his lead and drifted to various sides of her haunches depending on what he thought her next move would be.
With the wind raking at their manes and coasting over their Shadowbolt uniforms, Wing’s spirit lifted beyond the sky. Midnight Dagger climbed in altitude too, literally taking him with her until dropping into a descent path that would carry their arcs through the final stretch of stunt hoops.
Wing naturally slid into the outside line, giving her the necessary freedom to pull to the inside if need be—and because her focus would naturally follow the path she intended to travel. Maybe he’d work up the courage to tell her how liberating it was to have her in charge and how it allowed his brain to enter what he could only describe as zen. The calculations didn’t have to run. He could just fly. All that mattered was that she got to shine, and he could devote all that extra energy to the sacred mission of guarding her back.
Amid their blistering glide, that duty encountered a real challenge. A pair of pegasi was quickly encroaching on the dive from Wing’s five o’clock, and they were utterly oblivious to the rocketing ponies hurling toward them from above. Wing snapped his gaze back to Midnight, who was, as expected, scoping out their path.
The calculations returned, assaulting the physicist’s mind with the plethora of options. Aborting could induce panic. Calling out would break concentration. Consequent delays, at this speed, could make things worse. Wing shifted his feathers, tweaked a few angles, and gained some distance from his partner. He darted down and forward, picking up some much-needed momentum for when they pierced the plane of another hoop.
In that instant, the first shouts of realization reached Middy’s and Wing’s ears from the contorted mouths of the fuckups. When the batpony looked down to grasp the situation, Wing’s frame pressed into her barrel, and a single strong flap provided enough Δv to lift the partners above the terrified idiots.
Instinctively, Midnight and Wing slowed along their new trajectory until they found themselves hovering above the landing zone. The latter broke the silence first, offering a simple and concise, “You alright?”
Midnight’s blue eyes darted about while her brain replayed what had just happened. Her experience swiftly filled in the gaps of what she hadn’t seen, and hints of red began to show on her muzzle. “You timed that to my wing flaps,” she mumbled, stewing for a few more seconds before she finally steeled her gaze and directed it right at her wingpony. “You had my back.”
The moment Wing stepped out from the shower, he popped the most embarrassing wingboner of his life. He hadn’t even been in there for long. He had barely gotten himself dried off, and yet, the Midnight Dagger he had left was not the same batpony mare he saw now. Merely staring at her made him twitch, and he shut his eyes while his shaft futilely battled that detestable cage.
But fuck, she looked gorgeous. Latex stockings covered her four legs with cuffs accenting both ankles and wrists. Black panties hugged the contours of her haunches, and the garment yielded infinitely more justice than their flight suits. A rumbling purr fermented in Middy’s throat as she took a step towards her partner. “I told you already, Wing. I pack things in case I run into somepony who isn’t a moron. You’re not a moron, and judging by how stiff you are, I’d say it’s a good thing I’m still holding onto the key.”
“That’s not fair, and you know it,” the stallion retorted while his feathered appendages kept twitching to a nagging need that grew more fierce the longer he gazed at her smile. “Just because I said I didn’t come here to chase pussy doesn’t mean I won’t find a confident mare extremely attractive when she does”—he frantically gestured at her with one of his forelegs—“this.”
She took another step forward and batted her eyelids. “So, the nerd admits he finds his lead attractive? That just makes this easier.”
Wing was about to shoot back another quip when Midnight’s clad hoof pressed against his lips. Her expression softened as she peered at his face, and flickers of shyness shaved some of the curl from her cocky grin. “What you’ve done for me this week, what you did for me today, hasn’t gone unnoticed. You’re a wingpony I can trust, so I’m asking if I can lead you in a different way tonight. That is if you want to have some fun.”
“What kind of fun did you have in mind?” he asked in a muffled response, watching as the mischief blossomed across her countenance.
She withdrew her foreleg and walked to her waiting bag. “The kind of fun where you’ll be at the mercy of my nocturnal instincts. How much do you trust your lead pony?”
Wing shivered once Middy pulled out the first piece of gear and held it up on the edge of her wing. Black straps and metal rings connected a black blindfold, a bit gag, and more bands meant to be secured around his head and muzzle. His namesakes flared, splaying his feathers in a revealing demonstration that betrayed his arousal in a way his caged cock could not.
“Completely,” he answered while lifting his head to eye the beaming Midnight. Excitement caught his breath the moment she used her wings to pull the straps of the headgear into a suitable alignment. Her wing brushed the stallion’s chin with an equal degree of delicacy. She held it up, practically giving her wingpony a new sense of pride before her voice cut through the colt’s elevated breathing.
“If at any point you’re not comfortable,” she spoke in a quiet, soothing timbre with her mouth placed directly beside Wing’s ear, “say ‘mango’ and I’ll stop. I’m sure you won’t forget it with me in charge. Now, let me hear you say it so I know the bit won’t be a problem.”
Unable to truly speak freely, Wing parted his lips and forced the syllables over his restrained tongue and around the invasive metal bar. “Mnnngo…” he grunted into the void. His ears flicked to the muted sounds of his own obedience and the shockingly giddy giggle that bubbled from Midnight.
“That’s a good boy,” she cooed, retracted her wing, and stepped towards her gear bag. “Lie down for me right there. On your belly is fine. I have some other things to prepare, and I’m not done with that nerdy body of yours.”
Again, the pegasus did as he was told. He shifted through the imposed blindness and carefully lowered his barrel to the carpeted floor. The firm material dug into his coat, and he fidgeted awkwardly while listening to the chorus of sounds Midnight produced. Something metal scraped against something hard. Dozens of soft whooshes coaxed his curiosity through a cadence of material flopping atop the mare’s bed, and shortly thereafter, the sound of her tapping a leathery substance caressed Wing’s awareness.
Staccato shuffles trailed Midnight’s hooves as she approached the prone pony. Her dexterous wings guided a black collar around the colt’s neck, and a satisfied hum quickly emerged. His namesakes grew stiffer, moans dribbled from his mouth, and his tail whipped vigorously while she buckled the new accessory. An argent ring was riveted to the collar’s front face, and the mare punctuated its placement by giving the loop a commanding tug.
Wing’s haunches tensed as the pangs of arousal darted up and down his spine. The clamping force pressing against his neck cemented his rank as her subordinate. It was the mark of an underling, a pet, or someone to be led. Except, for once, that was not an abstract concept born in some fantasy. He was living—drowning in it, and the swirl of emotions that kept his feathered appendages hard as stone also made his balls ache.
Midnight dragged a latex-clad hoof down his side, eliciting a gasp and a squeak once her meandering path charted a course along the edge of his wing. “Cute, but I haven’t even given you a reason to squeak yet. For the pegasus, the anticipation transformed the wait into an eternity of uncertainty and fluster. Twisting time, his imagination pushed his mind to amplify any perceived touch, and the torment alone made his caged cock yearn for escape. A growl simmered in her throat in response to his lewd pleas, and she affectionately brushed his mane while a hoof directed the untied end of the rope to his chest.
Heated pants burst from Wing’s quivering figure as his brain grappled with the notion that the Reserve’s best flier was tying him up. Her limbs deftly moved around his shoulders, chest, and barrel, tracing lines into his short coat that were hastily augmented with paracord. She wove a harness around him, and he melted to each grazing she blessed him with while doing so.
Her ravaging onslaught did not end there. Separate strands claimed his knees before taught lines wrapped around the spreader bar. His left wing was stretched up and toward the other side of his head until it received its own set of windings. Even his tail succumbed to Midnight’s whims once a black wrap concealed his dock and three ropes segmented the lengths of hair into bulging bunches.
A rush of wind swept over the pegasus as the mare leapt into the air. She punched out one of the drop tiles in the room’s ceiling and laughed upon spotting what she wanted amidst the building’s true structure. In the final coup de grâce, she descended upon her helpless stallion. Straddling his back, she yanked a squeal from his lungs by nipping his neck with her fangs. She lingered there, letting him bear witness to the strength that kept him bound, and snatched a clump of his mane.
She tied up that part of his mane, too, and began collecting all of the unsecured rope ends. Once again demonstrating her superiority over the pegasus, she took off, fed the strands of paracord through a truss anchor on the ceiling, and hoisted Wing off the ground. With the final knots in place, the colt was utterly hers.
He dangled in the air with his head pulled up by that single line. His right wing pointed downward, where it remained affixed to his folded forelegs. His hindquarters rolled to the right once the ropes connecting his knees to the spreader bar, and the spreader bar to the ceiling, decided on which way to break symmetry. A groan slithered around the bit while Wing got accustomed to having his left namesake, left hind leg, and tail elevated above his head. He instinctively wiggled and realized just how vulnerable he was.
Midnight prowled her captive and snickered triumphantly. She watched pre drip from her wingpony’s cage, and her sights absorbed every twitch, shudder, and struggle his body made. He was certainly vulnerable, and he wasn’t alone either. She cradled his head with both of her forelegs and tapped her nose against his. “You look stunning,” she offered in a tone laden with grit and lust.
Redness surged around Wing’s cheeks and crept underneath the blindfold to his ears. His raised hind leg jerked, causing him to squirm once more. Needy whimpers fell from his mouth, and Midnight closed her eyes as she toyed with bits of mane that she hadn’t tied.
“There will be a lot of that,” she whispered and gently pushed Wing so he began to sway. The batpony revisited her bed to work a stretchy band over her left-front latex stocking. It settled into place near the top of the garment, and after a moment of resting there, a green gem affixed to the strap began to cast an emerald light.
Held by a magical aura of the same color, a riding crop lifted above the ridges and valleys of the bedspread. Midnight Dagger wielded the instrument like the weapon of her lineage. She directed the folded leather tip to Wing’s jaw and methodically drew a path under his wing base, over his belly, and to his exposed thigh.
Wing grunted and jolted at the sudden touch. The application of magic had made him the target of the mare’s stealthy advance, and his only choice was to endure whatever trial she had in mind. “Hnnnngh!” he wailed when the crop bit into his inner thigh. The slap of the strike echoed throughout their tiny room—as did the residual sting that radiated through his limb.
Midnight beamed after a line of red sullied Wing’s light-lavender coat. For a nerd, he kept himself in decent shape, and she’d be hard-pressed to deny that she loved the way he struggled in her snare. Bringing the crop down a little closer to those pent-up balls, she whipped him again and listened to his guttural cry.
He gasped heavily and tried to move his head into a different position, but the rope firmly clutching his mane restricted those maneuvers and prevented any defensive option. She struck him again, and his balls clenched. More pre dripped from his confined tip, and Wing violently fought the restraints. It was another contest he was destined to lose to her. She continued to crop him—until his limb felt like it was on fire and his cage was drenched with a want that she happily denied.
Tension plundered every muscle as he writhed. She laughed, and nothing could compare. Even in his blinded state, Wing could see her shine. It made him fight more—to ensure that she would see all the evidence of her victory. Though, Midnight certainly did not need his assistance.
She silently positioned another weapon of her arsenal and surprised the stallion with a soft, rubbery surface pressed against his caged cock. For a while, Midnight held it there without doing anything. Instead, she focused on Wing’s tics: the way his ears jerked, the subtle motion of his lips around the bit, or the popping puffs he made. He really had no need to think, and by the time she was done—

You’re all mine, and I’m not letting my wingpony down until sunrise.” She laughed again when she felt him shudder, and she promptly tormented her catch by shoving the unpowered wand where his balls met the cage.
Held on the dagger’s edge, Wing gulped. At any second, she would resume the agonizing riling, and there was a lot of night left to give. He panted wildly as he basked in her radiant warmth, and he jerked when she set the wand on a low rumble. This was a brief mercy, and even then, it coaxed his arousal.
With Wing wriggling in her unbreakable grasp, Midnight went in for the kill. “Mmm, Wing, maybe—just maybe I’ll let you get off tonight if you make a second promise.” She paused, taking the opportunity to gradually increase the vibe’s strength until his squeals ascended an octave. “When the next quarter rolls around, write me down as your preferred roommate. It’s not really a request. It’s a command from the best.”
Incoherent syllables streamed from Wing’s mouth as Midnight supported his exhausted, limp body. Having freed him from the suspension, the batpony took great care in carrying her prize to her bed. He had survived her night, taken every strike from her crop, and outlasted the vibe—battery and all. She smirked just thinking about it, and because of his exemplary service to his lead mare, she graciously gifted three things to the handsome pegasus.
First, Middy utterly refused to free him from the chastity cage. That key was now a treasure, and every red, stinging line that marred the stallion only increased its value. Second, that collar was his to keep. She had no intention of taking it off at that moment, either. In the skies, he defended her, and in their room, he made her his Ruler of the Night. Finally, as her Shadowbolt subordinate, his wellbeing became her responsibility.
With the threads of day slicing through the gaps in the window curtain, Midnight sought to care for Wing in another way. She helped him onto the mattress and guided his head all the way to the soft caress of the nearest pillow.
A dopey grin stretched across his muzzle, reminding Midnight of when they met. However, this time, Wing’s relaxed, tired gaze shaped a much different impression. The filly found herself hovering over her prone prey. Her long, blue mane cascaded around his crown and enveloped him in a world where he saw only Midnight.
“You overdid it,” she whispered, running her hooves through his hair and giving gentle tugs to the black strands. The green gem on her armband flared at her thoughts, and within seconds, a filled glass of water and a jar of ointment were hovering at her side. A small voice in the depths of her mind urged the batpony to count the streaks she had whipped into Wing, but then she might be forced to confront her own statement and a subsequent pang of guilt.
Her stare wavered at the notion. His remained resolute. “Amazing,” he mumbled, directing his sore foreleg to lift so he could rub her cheek.
Wing stopped time and sheathed simmering doubts with a single touch. Blood rushed to Middy’s cheeks in its wake, and her adjacent wing moved on its own to wrap around his limb. “You need to hydrate.” She broke the silence and carefully rolled just enough to prop up the pillow and bring the glass to his lips.
The pegasus did not wait long to heed her command. He took paced sips that were regulated by her maneuvering of the cup. “Kind, too,” he murmured again while still getting accustomed to this sudden swell in pampering.
When he was finished drinking, Midnight pressed her hoof to his chest and reasserted his reclined position. “Tonight exceeded my expectations,” the mare admitted after lifting the cap off the ointment jar with her magical device. “You were a very good boy, and only the best boys deserve this level of kindness. It might sting a bit, though”—she twirled her hoof and scooped a blob of the creamy substance—“so try not to make too much of a fuss.”
Following the endless hours of being cropped and edged to oblivion, Wing fluttered as he melted to his mistress’s serene strokes. She hunted every mark on his body with the same diligent precision that put them there in the first place, and he couldn’t help but coo when she massaged his beaten thighs and fondled his haunches.
Midnight had been truthful when she said the lotion might cause some pain, but once the work was done, Wing felt like he was floating on the surface of a lake. The aches subsided. His muscles could rest, and his barely functional mind could focus on the beautiful bat.
Her smile enchanted him once more. Her eyes sparkled, even when his felt dulled by the rising need to sleep, and she tended to his wounds with a level of sincerity that ignited an inferno deep in his chest. She pounced on that flame in seconds, smothering his figure in an affectionate hug that involved every appendage Midnight had to deploy.
“Fuck, you’re cute,” she whispered in his ear while an errant hoof resumed playing with Wing’s mane. Having swaddled her stallion in a batwing burrito, Midnight could sense the low, rumbling purr that brewed when she raked his locks.
Wing inevitably succumbed to the larger pony’s wonderful embrace. He could live with being the little spoon if it meant basking like this. With every ounce of strength he had left, the pegasus pushed his muzzle towards the crook of her neck and kissed her cheek. The inaudible purrs emerged as a quiet hum, and Wing shut his eyes as he fully settled.
At the bourns of sleep, and obliviously in the presence of a now-flustered mare, Wing drifted off along with his precious thoughts of thanks. “You’re one of a kind…”

Chapter 1: Ponies and Pets
Ponies and Pets
The sun slowly approached the horizon as seen from Canterlot. The city’s elevation gave it a few more minutes of sunlight when compared to a village like Ponyville, which sat in the valley below, and the renowned views beckoned creatures from all over Equestria. Standing on one of the balconies at the outer edge of the city, Midnight ruffled her light grey leathery wings and prepared for the princess to perform her celestial rite over the plains that stretched out to the south and west. At the same time, she pushed her cyan mane away from her face while she looked out at the daily spectacle and waited for a very particular pony to show up.
He better be here soon… I did say sunset, didn’t I?
She shuffled nervously for a moment as she tried to remember if she’d specified the exact time. Her question was answered when she heard hooves hitting the stone tiles behind her, the lavender-coated, black-maned pegasus stallion coming up to her while breathing hard.
“I’m… so sorry! Work… held me up—”
Midnight Dagger pressed her hoof against his muzzle, silencing him. “Shut up, Nerd.”
Wing’s ears briefly splayed as his meandering eyes anxiously drifted between Midnight’s icy-blue stare and her outstretched leg. Holding his breath, the stallion kept his mouth shut when Midnight removed her hoof, and he only released a relieved sigh when she directed him to the sight of the setting sun. Instinctively, the two ponies pressed together as the last rays passed over the horizon and descended beyond it.
“Beautiful…” Wing whispered, giving a side glance to Midnight before getting hushed again as she turned his gaze to the opposite horizon. It took a few more seconds for the sun’s light to fade and the sky to darken further, but that only increased the spectacle when the first stars became visible and the moon started rising. The silver orb appeared massive over the horizon as it rose to take its place in the night sky, its princess gently coaxing it out to take center stage in her stunning tapestry of stars.
“That ’s beautiful,” Midnight smirked as she kept her gaze on the twinkling stars, her slitted eyes fully dilated to see the night sky in its true glory. Only after a minute or so did she move her attention to the stallion beside her, opening her wing and wrapping it around his back while resting her chin on his head. “Glad you made it in time.”
“So am I. I’d never want to miss out on time with you,” Wing purred, pressing his muzzle into Midnight's chest and prompting the batpony to give him a purr in response.
The two remained in the warm embrace for a bit while Midnight contemplated how to bring up a topic she had wanted to discuss with the pegasus. After their hookup and several dates, she had pondered it, and even though it felt right, the air of secrecy still plucked at her nerves.
“Hey, Wing, there's something I wanted to discuss with you…” Midnight carefully said, pulling back so she could look the stallion in the eyes.
Wing fashioned a concerned expression, and he timidly fluttered once he observed Midnight’s flushed muzzle and her struggle to maintain eye contact. “Middy, you're my priceless mare. You can discuss anything with me.”
Midnight's blush intensified for a moment as her eyes found the tiles of the ground between them. “Sh-Shush.”
“Make me,” Wing challenged, a smirk on his lips until Midnight's were pressed against his in a kiss. The maneuver caught the scientist off guard, and his feathers fanned in the wake of the accelerated intimacy.
Midnight coughed after she broke the kiss. “I’m trying to be serious here, Wing,” she huffed, having found some of her courage again after proving her point and taking a deep breath to calm her nerves. “Know how I caged that pretty little cock of yours when we first met at the academy?”
Now it was the pegasus’ turn to blush as he was reminded of what his member had been straining against for the last few weeks, the black plastic keeping it neatly restrained. “Hard to forget that.”
“Well…” Midnight bit her lip. “I'm not exactly the only pony into such things.”
Wing's eyes widened, but he kept his mouth closed as he allowed Midnight to finish what she wanted to say before confirming his suspicions.
“You see, there's this underground society of sorts where what we've been doing at each other's places can be done in the ‘open’.” Midnight punctuated the last word by making quotes with her hooves. “It’s a place where I've had some forays into but without a permanent partner… Well, it just didn't have the same appeal as it does now… and I was hoping you'd consider coming along?”
“Midnight—”
“If you don't want to that's fine too, I just wanted to—”
“Midnight, ” Wing cut the batpony off with an uncharacteristically gritty timbre. “I’d love to go to Clocktower with you.”
The batpony froze as she looked down at the smiling stallion, her mouth hanging open in shock. “You… you know of it?”
Wing snickered. “What? After all we've already done together, you're actually surprised?”
Midnight blushed again as she had to admit to herself that it was kind of obvious that the stallion had already been approached by the society, but that also meant the next part became much easier. “So, if you've been down there, what position do you hold within the society?”
“Well,” the pegasus explained, “I was first invited to do some research on the Fire of Devotion, but I’m guessing that’s not what you want to hear about. When it comes to masks, collars, and their colours, it depends on the situation. If I am wandering around by myself, I usually run with either a red collar or mask.”
Midnight's face stiffened a little upon hearing that, but the stallion shot her a reassuring smile.
“It’s not because I’m uninterested in permanent ties. I like building relationships on firm foundations. Wearing the white when I was alone always felt empty, like I was making some sort of sales pitch. If we’re going together, though, that wouldn’t be an empty action. That’d be going with somepony I admire, clicked with, and want to be around. I’d definitely go for the white collar instead.”
Upon hearing Wing’s interest in pursuing a deeper connection, Midnight let out a sigh of tension she hadn't realised had been building up.
“So what about you? What roles have you explored?” The stallion’s questions trailed the mare’s emotional release.
“Well, on the previous occasions I've gone down there, I picked a white mask. Although…” The blush came back in force, and she found the toes of her hooves to suddenly be the most interesting things in the world. “I-I went down there once with a silver-studded red collar…”
Wing’s ears perked at the revelation, and the corners of his lips swiftly spread to form a sultry, mischievous grin. “Here I thought you didn’t want guys chasing after your precious pussy. It’s a shame I didn’t run into you on that day. You would have had me pulling out my mask in a nanosecond, and I would have had you admitting you were priceless, beautiful, and cute months in advance. The pesky cage wouldn’t have been in the way either.”
With the mounting pressure of Wing’s teasing bearing down on her, Midnight took drastic steps to contain the pegasus. Her large span opened up, and she quickly engulfed Wing’s head in a cocooning hug that blinded the pegasus with her cozy chest floof. “I just needed some fun…”
Pressed between her wings and her chest, Wing listened to Midnight’s heartbeat as the batpony’s explanation trailed off. His haunches wiggled while his smirk curled a teeny bit more. “Did you get it? Is that why your pulse is racing?”
Immediately, Middy tightened her hold and thanked Luna’s starry sky that Wing could not see the wave of rosy hues that conquered her muzzle and cheeks. “No, you dork! It’s racing because I just asked about having a fun time with you!”
Wing’s train of thought derailed once his brain processed the blunt admission. Even Midnight had snapped her mouth shut after the declaration leapt from her lips, but the stallion carried on. He squirmed his way upward, practically snaking his way through her leathery grasp until his head popped out in the crook of Middy’s neck. “We certainly won’t be needing any silver studs during our visit. I can promise you that.”
Midnight kept her mouth shut once Wing’s declaration drilled into her thoughts. Various options filled her ponderings, and a blush swept across her muzzle. Even the idea of just dragging him down there made her stomach flutter, but she knew that the experience would be worlds better if she took some time to plan first. “Are you familiar with Carver's Pets?”
Wing lightly bit his lip and nodded. “I passed by there once or twice.”
“Be there. Tomorrow at twenty-two hundred. Understood?” Midnight gave the pegasus as intense a look as she could manage, which ended up being good enough to make the stallion shiver.
“Orders received, ma’am. Your wingpony will be in position as always,” Wing replied before receiving a loving nuzzle from the towering mare for his silly antics.
Midnight smiled. “Such a dork. I’ll have to reserve everything I need, so I’ll see you then.” She winked at Wing as she trotted away, revealing a small bounce in her step that he loved to watch.
Midnight stared into the mirror of the prep room she had claimed for herself. She'd retrieved a collar from the society and unboxed her personal mask. While the collar she chose was more plain than the standard Clocktower collars, which had metal hearts secured to the leather straps where leashes could be connected, she preferred simplicity. It wasn’t that she found the Clocktower’s more elaborate aesthetic terrible. She wanted something that better communicated her intent for restraint, and that, in her mind, demanded a design that was simple and rugged. It wasn't a collar’s job to look pretty. It was there to keep her firmly in place.
When that was what she wanted, of course. Tonight, there was another mission objective, prompting the mare to don a mask that matched the collar. The intricate piece was far more ornate than its submissive counterpart. The white mask had black borders and sharp shapes pressed into the surface, and around her eye holes, the dark shape of eyelashes had been intricately crafted onto the leather.
Strapping the mask around her face, she took another good look at herself in the mirror, deciding that she didn't want to leave her hair in its usual, rougher state. Grasping her mane, she divided it into three bundles and braided the strands together. At first, she used a normal, bland tie to keep the braid from unravelling, but the look didn't fully sit right with her – something she rectified when she found a small, buckled leather strap that she could pull over the tie.
“There, hope that impresses the nerd.” She blushed a little at the thought of Wing. They had been on a few dates, but this marked a way more significant step than simply going out to eat with the stallion or wandering around the academy grounds together during off-hours.
Midnight repositioned her white canvas saddlebag, signed off on the collar, tie, and strap she'd taken from the prep room, and left for the public areas of the society. Having taken the portal for dominants, she found herself in the grand halls of Clocktower's central hub, but if she wanted to find Wing, she would have to travel to the first level of the dungeon where they'd agreed to ‘meet up’.
Stepping out of the grand structure, Midnight looked over the adjacent square that complemented the front of the building. Large gear patterns had been set by masons into the stone slabs, and two cobble clock hands reached out from the center of the decoration to cement the society’s motif. There were quite a few other doms milling about and socializing with one another under the light of the moon. Some of them even had leashed subs lying beside them as they conversed.
Although Midnight was sure the topics being discussed were undoubtedly interesting, she had elsewhere to be first. After trotting down the steps, she crossed the square and descended into the market district, where she could find the dungeon entrance closest to the cages where Wing would be waiting.
The sub-to-dom ratio became noticeably higher now that she was moving away from Clocktower Square. Most doms guided their subs along to check out stores or eat at one of the cafés that lined the street. Midnight would return here later for what she had planned, but for now, she catalogued each of the stores as she passed. One had an assortment of chocolates and other treats, while another store sold clothing. Though some of the establishments were a little on the spicy side, very few truly explicit items were being sold on this level. That was something Midnight knew would change once she entered the lower floors – where the tides of commerce slanted drastically in the ‘toy’ store direction.
A few minutes later, she arrived at the large spiral staircase that led into the underground cavern in which the dungeon was constructed. Magical crystals embedded into the walls lit up the shaft, and the slight red glow set the correct mood. It wasn't a long walk to the kennels from there, but a glance at a wall-mounted clock revealed that Midnight might have been making too good a time. While she knew that Wing had likely rushed for the cages at her request, she also didn’t want to pull him from his situation that soon. A devious little idea popped into her mind as she considered her potential approach.
Taking position at a nearby bench, Midnight contented herself by watching ponies and other creatures pass by with their slaves, pets, and subs. She filed away some of the contraptions she saw for later consideration with Wing if today went well. After spending a good thirty minutes lounging and observing, she decided she'd let the stallion cook for long enough and slid off the bench to retrieve him.
A dom greeted Midnight as she entered the kennels. Cages lined the space in stacks that rose on both sides of the central aisle. Pairs of wooden posts appeared at regular intervals, supporting a ramp and platform that allowed perusers to safely access the additional inventory.
“Welcome to Carver's Pets!” exclaimed the light brown earthpony stallion who managed the place. His dark green tail swished from side to side as he peered at Middy through his mask, and a vibrant smile accompanied his jolly tone. “Are you here to pick up an order or do you wish to just browse?”
The question drew a subtle grin onto the batpony’s countenance. After speaking with Wing and agreeing on this kind of play, she had arranged everything with the kennels in advance. Now, however, the innocent proposition presented an opportunity to tease her pegasus in an unexpected way. Sure, it would alter the script, but if there was one thing that Midnight knew, it was that the ponies of the society were flexible .
“Just to browse,” Midnight casually said, her gaze passing over the locked, occupied cages. Some of the pets perked up and stepped toward the bars to see if there was a chance they could be picked. The kennels were mostly filled with ponies like Wing who were there on appointment, but there were always a few spots available for subs who wanted the chance for a random pony to take them out for a session. If Carver had no such ponies available, he'd reply that he was out of unreserved stock and that the requestor needed to place an order.
That procedure did not apply here. In Midnight's case, the shopkeeper understood exactly where she was going, and he smoothly replied, “Of course! Do follow along. I've got some very nice specimens in stock at the moment!” Carver took the lead as he pointed out various cages, the contained creatures behind the steel bars, and their longing, desperate expressions. The stallion paused in front of the cell holding the lone, young griffon in the kennel. “This one, for example. A bit feisty if you ask me, but you, Lass, look like you can handle ‘er.”
The griffon squawked and pushed herself against the back of the cage, lowering her chest to make it look like she would pounce the moment the door was opened. Midnight remained relaxed under the attempted intimidation, knowing that it was both for play and that – if the griffon really meant the hostility – she'd wipe the floor with the fledgeling regardless. “Hmm, perhaps another time. I was looking for something a little tamer for now.”
Carver bowed his head and continued to the next promising fit. As the pair neared, the captured stallion shifted closer to the entrance and peeked through the bars with a pleading stare. The pony possessed a similar colour to Wing, though his coat was decidedly more blue than the faded lavender Midnight sought. Nevertheless, the pet in front of the batpony put in some considerable effort, yielding a string of purrs as he pushed his head through the bars as much as the metal would allow.
Midnight responded with a soft, subdued smile as she repaid those efforts with a gentle cheek rub. The mare internally swore that she could hear a suppressed whine coming from Wing’s cage, and her smile grew as she provided one final headpat before pulling her hoof away. “Almost, but not quite…”
“Hmm… I may have another offer for you to consider, but I’m not sure of that one’s value,” Carver thought out loud, clearly intending to lead Midnight to Wing next, but she was well prepared to throw another wrench in the gears before getting to the stallion in question. Right as the shopkeeper stopped in front of Wing’s pen, Midnight let out a shocked gasp as her sights fell upon Wing’s particularly small unicorn neighbor.
“My my, this one looks exquisite!” the batpony exclaimed, mentally relishing her plan. She confidently strode up to the bars while the tiny mare inside looked up at the looming Midnight with an equally shocked expression. The sudden, unexpected attention drew an adorable blush on the mage’s cheeks, and the dom dove on the opportunity. “Can you get her out so I can inspect her?”
“I certainly can!” Carver chuckled, opening the cage and calling on the pet to step out and assume the down position.
Midnight used the demonstration as a reminder to review Clocktower’s pre-approved list of commandable submissive positions. Meanwhile, the little, crouched mare trembled beneath the towering Midnight, and the genuine intimidation honestly suited the batpony’s objectives in this instance.
The unicorn’s blush intensified as Midnight pushed aside the pet’s tail to inspect her marehood. The act coaxed another, definitely audible whine from the waiting Wing, and the nervous tremolo made the dominant flier flick her pierced ear.
“She looks like quite a steal. How much?” Midnight asked, smirking as she fixed Carver with a gaze.
“I fear this one is on order from another one of my patrons, but I can mark down her type as one of your preferences if you wish.” He ushered the unicorn back into her cell while delivering the apologetic explanation.
“An offer I appreciate,” Midnight replied through a reassuring smile, “but it’s unnecessary. You had a free pet you were leading me to?”
As she had her focus directed to Wing’s cage, the pegasus practically begged for attention by pressing against the bars and casting a timid, reserved glance in the mare’s direction. The delay had driven the cooped-up sub into a twitching frenzy – as though he had clung to every word and act that had transpired since Middy stepped into the kennel. Even now, his feathers quivered at the slightest movement. Apprehension kissed his wavering irises, and ears swiveled forward to snatch each statement.
“This pony here is not reserved by anyone right now, but I have to warn you that its previous owner left a chastity cage on its cock. I wasn’t able to acquire a key, and I fear that might pose a problem,” Carver apologised as if it were an actual issue.
Midnight abruptly waved his concern off. “He won’t need to have that freed anyway. Can I see him?” Midnight asked, locking eyes with Wing while Carver opened the door and beckoned the stallion out. Soon, Wing echoed the movements of his neighbor by assuming the down pose once he cleared the threshold, and Midnight followed suit by making another small show out of the inspection. She tugged on Wing’s namesakes, pushed aside his tail, and checked his teeth. Satisfied, especially with the shivers her touches induced, she gave Carver a smile. “How much?”
“Nine lashes,” Carver replied, using one of the common in-house denominations. While the rest of Equestria traded in bits, the secretive Clocktower Society devised a rather ingenious system for its self-contained economy. Within this space, tallies, lashes, and brands reigned supreme, and the names reflected almost exactly what one could expect on the tin.
“Deal!” Midnight exclaimed before she looked down at Wing and gave him a nodded order to follow. The stallion remained close to her flank while the batpony trailed Carver toward the counter for payment. There, they spotted a relatively common sight in society shops – namely a submissive mare trapped at the midsection by a hole in a decorative wall. Her hind legs had been chained to the base of the structure, making it impossible for her to buck under any circumstance, and her tail had been tied to an elevated hook to get the strands and dock out of the way.
Taking out her master phaser , the electrothaumic tool used to make transactions, Midnight got ready to make the payment for Wing. She glanced down at the console embedded into the base of the rounded, Y-shaped device and checked her balance. Happy to find that her charge was sitting pretty at eighty tallies, she shifted her focus to a sign nailed onto the wall beside the restrained earthpony. Written here, Midnight found the information she needed to properly adjust her phaser. Each unit had a circular dial mounted at the intersection of the arms, and that knob controlled whether the payment process would induce pleasure or pain in the store’s bank .
For the mare in question, there was no cap on the shock amplitude, but it was strictly prohibited to give this pony any pleasure. Midnight’s hoof slid across the dial face, and she homed in on the halfway point for strength before she put the tool to work. The targeted mare squirmed and squeaked as yellow sparks danced between the prongs of the Y – and as four lashes were deposited onto her flank. Once that was done, the batpony stretched her leg forward to firmly press the phaser into the mare’s side for five seconds, depositing a full brand to take care of the remainder.
“That should do it,” Midnight confirmed with Carver after seeing her phaser’s charge balance drop to thirty-five after the payment.

“Sure does! Enjoy your purchase!” Carver grinned as he hoofed over the temporary ownership contract. Midnight promptly stored the parchment and her master phaser before she pulled a leash from her saddlebag. In a blink, she had it clasped to Wing’s collar and gave an assertive tug that beckoned the stallion to follow her along the route she had already explored.
“Aren’t you a clingy one?” Midnight smirked as Wing had been practically pressed into her flank since she plucked him from the cage. He had still not uttered a single word, instead remaining a good pet with his purrs. “That reminds me! Now that I have you on the leash, I might as well offload some currency onto you. Sit!”
Wing obediently followed the command, looking at Midnight expectantly as she retrieved her phaser. The batpony briefly contemplated the setting she’d put it on, but, as a devious glint engulfed her icy-blue eyes, she settled on using the maximum pleasure the device could give. To an outside observer, the decision might have been viewed as an affectionate reward for a fantastic sub. However, considering the chastity cage the pegasus wore, Midnight knew the action wasn’t necessarily a blessing.
She pushed Wing’s soft, conditioned namesake aside and pressed the phaser into his blazeberry fur. A moan bubbled from his muzzle as his nerves surrendered to the magical shocks that rippled through his body the moment Middy applied a brand just beside the base of his wing. He shuddered and huffed while his cock strained against the confining plastic, and all that surging desire swirled around with no obvious outlet.
The mare couldn’t help but snicker at the spectacle, and she brushed his feathers after noticing the pent-up twitching of his hind legs. “There, a good start, don’t you think?”

Midnight beamed as she sneakily clutched the leash as if it had become her prize. The society facilitated this otherworldly realm, where nopony gave them odd looks as she led her pet toward their destination. In Equestria proper, this would have garnered the same kind of judgment her heritage garnered at the academy. Here, she could live out a fantasy with somepony she found quite valuable.
Several minutes of strolling finally brought her restaurant of choice into view. Another last-minute reservation, made the previous night, had gotten them a table. She endured a scramble to make it all happen, yes, but with a name like Pet’s Place, where else could she really treat her nerdy pet? Advertised as the perfect spot for such players to come and dine, the establishment sported a backyard garden where pets could frolic to their heart’s content, and the tables and menu had suitable accommodations for their particular patrons.
A collared stallion came up to them with his head bowed, and the pony’s horn glimmered in a faint purple aura that levitated a nearby clipboard. “Welcome to Pet’s Place. Do you have a reservation, ma’am?”
“Under the name Dagger,” Midnight acknowledged, prompting the sub to scan his list and mark off the name when he found it.
“I see that payment is still required. That will be three tallies in total, ma’am.” The stallion turned around and presented his flank, which already seemed quite filled with deposits from other customers. “Pleasure settings only please, ma’am.”
Midnight then noticed that the stallion was wearing a chastity cage, one even smaller than Wing’s. She clearly wasn’t the only dom who had figured out how to make pleasure such a frustrating thing to give to her sub. To the server’s credit, he only twitched slightly as the three tallies were applied.
“Thank you, ma’am. Table Five is yours. I’ll return with menus for you soon,” he provided after pushing himself back up. Midnight gave the host an appreciative nod, pulled Wing along to the allotted table, and set him down on the dog bed beside it. A solid metal post installed next to the bed served as a hitching spot, and the batpony took advantage by clipping Wing’s leash into a locking latch.
Looking around, Middy found that the restaurant was nice and compact, containing about thirty tables that pampered pets with toy boxes loaded with new balls, rubber bones, and mice plushies – along with other trinkets a cat or dog might enjoy.
“Now, if you’re a good boy, we may even go out and play in a bit, understand?” Midnight explained when she saw Wing silently examine the toy box and peer through the windows to the backyard, where another couple was engaged in a game of fetch. He purred in response and gave Midnight a nudge with his muzzle, receiving ear scritches as a reward. Not long after, the stallion that had received them at the entrance came bringing the menu and asked if the two of them required any drinks. Midnight asked for water for both of them.
“Let’s see. The hayburger sounds like a treat, but maybe a healthier option would be better…” While she checked the selection of foodstuffs, Wing did his best to scoot up to his mistress.
The deliberations carried on when their server returned with a glass for the lady, a bowl for the sub, and a pitcher for refills. “Have you decided on your order yet, ma’am?” he asked with a polite smile.
Midnight gave it a little more thought before she put down the menu. “I think the salad for the two of us will work just fine,” she said, passing the menu back to the stallion who bowed his head as he took it.
“Of course, I’ll be right back, ma’am.” The stallion retreated swiftly, allowing Midnight to take a sip from her water and simply enjoy the environment.
Another mistress was using a cat toy to play with her pet. The sprawled sub had stretched out on her back beneath the table and pawed at a bundle of feathers that dangled from some seafoam-green twine. Her tail swished from side to side, hurling reflections from the safety bell that soundlessly navigated the exuberant moves. A glance down at Wing showed that her stallion had a bell tied to his tail too. The simple instruments proved to be useful tools for when submissives were gagged or otherwise unable to say one of Clocktower’s standardised safewords. Her observations of Wing also reminded her of something completely different.
“Pet, is something wrong with the water?”
Wing’s ears flattened, and he glanced down at the untouched bowl of water before taking the hint. He lowered his muzzle to the metal dish and started scooping up the liquid with his tongue. Midnight hummed contently as his sounds joined the chorus of noises in the bustling restaurant. When the salads were delivered to the table, her pet needed no further encouragement to dig into his bowl of food. The two of them enjoyed the meal in their own ways – Midnight for the quality of its ingredients, and Wing for the humiliating manner in which he was made to eat. Midnight finished her plate first, having an easier time than her pet, who was putting in a valiant effort to finish his own bowls. When she chuckled at his struggles, he looked up at her and blushed at his own state. Though, his wagging tail betrayed his true feelings.
“Go on, you’re almost done,” Midnight encouraged, coaxing out a happy purr from the reinvigorated stallion before he put in the extra work to snatch the remaining scraps from the bowl. Midnight let out a giggle when Wing looked up at her again. “Up here, Girl. You have something on your muzzle.”
The flustered blush returned the instant Midnight referred to her pet as a girl. Of course, the pegasus immediately jumped up beside the batpony and obediently waited while she used a napkin to clean the bits of salad that clung to his muzzle.
“Much better. Now, shall we?” A tennis ball rested atop Midnight’s hoof, and she teased Wing to try to take it. The stallion’s eyes grew along with his excitement as he was released from his leash and led to the playgarden. The pet-master duo that had been playing fetch before was now tucked away in a corner of the yard where the stallion was combing out his mare’s hair. More importantly, they had unwittingly yielded the entire field to Midnight and Wing.
Chuckling, Midnight tossed the tennis ball up and down in her hoof before pitching it away. “Fetch!”
Wing didn’t need to be told twice. He bolted after the ball the second the syllable shot from his mistress’ mouth. His namesakes spread as he raced through the grass, revealing the brand to any onlookers lucky enough to catch it. They’d have to be quick, though, because Wing darted through the yard with reckless abandon and returned in no time with the ball held firmly in his muzzle.
Panting slightly from the sudden exertion, Wing dropped the ball for Midnight and received purr-worthy ear scritches as a reward.
“Good girl… again!” the mare shouted after she flicked the ball up with her wing, bounced it on the leathery surface a few times, and launched it across the garden.
Once again, Wing repeated the rapid recovery. He sped through the yard at a blistering pace, chomped down on the tennis ball with more vigor than he attacked the salad, and returned to his owner with a triumphant trot. Without even receiving a command, he placed the ball in front of Middy’s hooves, lay down in front of the toy, and pleadingly nudged it with his muzzle.
“You are absolutely adorkable you know~”
Midnight repeated the game a few more times, heaping small bits of praise onto the stallion whenever he returned. The cycle drew out the most adorable melody of squeaks and purrs, and his notes continually made the masked batpony vibrantly smile. Eventually, when Wing delivered the ball, he put it down and rolled over onto his back, looking up at his mistress with begging eyes as he wiggled in the grass. “You want belly rubs?” she asked with a chuckle.
He let out a happy squeal and squirmed a little more, doing just enough to persuade Midnight to plant her hooves on his belly and give a great rub.
“Such a good girl~” Midnight sighed as her pet was panting from all the running and wriggling he had been doing. He was downright irresistible in this cute form, and the mare couldn’t keep herself from pulling him close and treating him with gentle brushes. With all the purrs she was getting in return, Midnight assumed the stallion was loving the attention, but all great outings couldn’t last forever. Even her plan had to end, and time was ticking on. With that in mind, and after another round of scritches and rubs, the batpony grasped the leash and connected it to Wing's collar once more.
“Up!” she commanded as she stood. Taking point, Midnight guided the stallion through the restaurant, out its front door, and onto the society streets. She didn’t head back down to the kennel – instead charting a course toward a nearby, strategically located establishment named The Pup Shack.
Here, you could make use of Clocktower’s answer to a fundamental petplay question and ‘drop your pet off for the night’ in a manner that wouldn’t break immersion in a way that regular submissive prep rooms could. At the establishment’s door, Midnight confirmed her reservation. Just like Carver’s, the Shack’s space had a row of small cages, except these units possessed two doors – one that faced the shop’s main hall, and another that led back to care rooms for the subs to use after the drop-off was completed.
Stopping in front of one of the cells, Midnight gave Wing his last ear scritches before she whispered into the stallion’s ear. “Meet me on the balcony tomorrow at noon.”
Wing responded by giving a gentle nuzzle to Midnight’s hoof before he stepped inside the cage.
With that, the mare closed the door, waved goodbye, and departed as her heart jittered from the rush that accompanied every memory of their evening.
Midnight found herself back at the balcony. This time, the warm rays of the sun fell upon her grey coat and counteracted Canterlot’s typical altitude-induced chill. Despite the pleasant weather, Midnight stewed in some self-inflicted turbulence. Somehow, she was more nervous than when she had asked WIng to join her in the Clocktower Society.
She fussed with her hoof, anxiously fidgeting as her mind asked questions that only somepony else could answer. Did he enjoy himself? He didn't say anything or use any safewords, so that's good, right? But maybe he was just being polite. Maybe he didn’t want to make it weird. Maybe he just didn't want to disappoint you?
Not having seen or heard from Wing since she had left him at The Pup Shack, the mare fought the harassing thoughts that plagued her mind while she waited for him to show up. She was so occupied with this battle that she completely missed Wing’s arrival, giving the stallion the exceptionally rare opportunity to sneak up on her. Midnight almost jumped when he nuzzled her cheek.
“Hey there, Priceless,” he cooed as a devious glint flashed across his irises.
“H-Hey,” Midnight stammered, trying to compose herself as she blushed. “S-So, what did you think about last night?”
Wing immediately met Midnight’s nervous twitches with a gentle, reassuring smile. “What I thought?” he answered in a teasing tone before he extended his namesake, wrapped it around the back of Midnight’s neck, and pulled the mare into a passionate kiss with more force than she ever thought he could muster.
At that moment, Midnight's world changed. Her body felt light as a lavender feather as she pushed into the kiss. Nothing within her wanted it to end. The nagging thoughts ceased. Her pride couldn’t be bothered. Wing could hold that kiss forever.
When he finally broke it, his chocolate-colored eyes locked onto Midnight’s crisp blue stare. One word dripped from his muzzle in the echoes of that epiphany. In the past, he had blurted it, but this time, he spoke it with a surprising degree of resolute authority. “Beautiful.”
Midnight blushed once again. “W-Well, you were pretty good yourself,” she answered while shyly looking away from the pegasus that now sat in her embrace.
The two leaned into the hug and cast their gazes across the valley. They watched, in silence, as weather workers scurried over the landscape to clear a few rogue cloud puffs that drifted into Canterlot airspace. They both hummed at the spectacle – perhaps reminiscing on the days when they flew side-by-side – and then laughed at their spontaneous unity.
Wing took advantage of the jovial moment to spur a much-needed addition to their conversation. “So, when do you want to go again?”
Midnight bit her lip at the question and glanced down at her wingpony. “Well, maybe you should be the one to tell me that. Since… I thought it might be a nice idea if you organized the next visit.”
The admission stoked a fire in Wing’s stare and prompted another quick kiss that found Midnight’s cheek. “You had better prepare yourself then – because I intend to make you the most precious mare in the society and give you a night that you’ll never forget.”

Peering down at the contents of his liberty blue saddlebag, Wing took a deep breath. He craned his neck and stretched, trying to relieve the tension that had built between his shoulders, before he flipped the top flap of the canvas closed and slung the pack onto his back. The pegasus had sounded quite sure of himself when he told Midnight that he would make her the most precious mare in the place – and that she would never forget what he had in store for her.
With the rendezvous time nearing, however, that resolve felt a touch arrogant. The stallion ran a hoof over his last piece of unplaced gear while his stare wandered to the prep room’s nearest mirror. “Deeds, not words,” he spoke softly to himself, grasping the item before holding it up to catch the bright light pouring from the ceiling.
The white mask gleamed atop the elevated limb. At the edge of the fabric, a thin blue border faded-in above the right eye slit and ran all the way around to below the left eye. Swooping from the fabric just above the bridge of the muzzle down toward the right cheek, a fiery feather pattern had been carefully stitched onto the material. The reflected glint caught Wing’s attention, and a smile slowly stretched across his face.
He donned the mask and chuckled at how well the snug apparel clung to the contours of his head. Wing immediately dragged his lifted hoof through his combed mane and hurled a determined stare at the mirror. “That’s much better. A promise is a promise, after all, and you always deliver on what you say. Isn’t that right?”
Following a confident, self-assuring nod, Wing strode out of the prep room and set a beeline through Clocktower’s grand hall. Beneath the palace’s high vaulted ceilings, a large gathering of creatures manoeuvred past the marble colonnades as they pursued their various endeavours. The scientist had not anticipated such a crowd, and he was forced to sidestep and glide his way down and over the crimson-carpeted stairs and floors.
A thoughtful hum rumbled in his throat as he scooted around a griffon pair. Midnight’s stature would almost certainly make the mare stand out, and Wing was sure that he would find her with some thorough scouting. Still, this was a rare chance to put some Clocktower tech to good use, and denying such an opportunity would be a shame.
Eagle Vision, on… he consciously spoke in his mind, activating his mask’s enchanted functionality. A faint purplish glow hovered in front of the eye slits, and Wing’s perception of the hall instantly changed. Code names and collar labels appeared like cyan holograms projected onto a 3D HUD. While that information concisely consolidated all of the intricacies of collar construction, the format wasn’t what he was after. Mode shift, compatibility.
The characters vanished like fleeting wisps of snow. Instead, Wing observed various outlines of red and gold around the submissives he passed. Algorithm shift, CTRL HQ. COLLAR Database, Devotion’s Inferno Release. Authorization, W-1028. Preference Model, W-1028. Execute. The ocular spell seemed to glitch out for a second before the lenses returned with a bluer hue. With this program, the red outlines disappeared completely, and the gold ones looked far more subdued – except for one.
A vibrant beacon drew Wing’s attention toward the large main doors. Just off to the side, a field of gold compelled the pegasus to take to the air and fly to the spot. As he landed, he deactivated the Eagle Vision cast and grinned as Midnight came into crisp focus once the blinding indicator turned off.
He peered at the white collar wrapped around the batpony’s neck and the matching cuffs that snuggly sat above each of her hooves. Wing stepped closer, his eyes still tracing the heart-themed metal accents that adorned the padded leather bands. He smirked at the sight of Midnight wearing the submissive apparel, and his tail flicked once he caught the subtle shades of red on her grey cheeks. “M-0117, your master has arrived to initiate your special Clocktower practice session. Are you prepared?”
Midnight flinched at the sudden use of her Clocktower designation. She shuffled laterally for a few seconds and briefly rubbed the cuffs on her forehooves together until she composed herself enough to set her icy-blue stare on the stallion. “M-0117? Seriously, you are a ner—”
A serene amber glow kissed Wing’s irises as he stepped toward the mare. He walked as though he were floating, and even Midnight – with her elite sensory prowess – could not pick up a sound as he approached. Wing watched as her ears swiveled and as she rapidly scanned the edges of his mask for any sign of a breaking façade. He refused to give her an opening. Instead, Wing reached up, grasped her collar, and pulled her head down. “I expect my question to be answered.”
Where there had been hints of red, Midnight now fully succumbed to a fiery heat that quickly covered every inch of her face. Her wings quivered. A shiver rolled up her spine, and her eyes widened when she felt the stallion’s primaries brush the underside of her muzzle. Her heart pounded after she returned her jostled gaze to Wing’s steeled, dominant expression. “S-Sorry, Master. Your sub is ready for her session.”
“That’s more like it,” Wing replied while rummaging through his saddlebag. He retrieved a leash that matched the white of Midnight’s collar, clipped the lead to the attachment point, and wrapped the free end around his right cannon. “We have a short trot to our room, but there is nothing like starting practice out in the open. Let’s see the quality of your base position.”
Taking several preparatory breaths, Middy lowered her head until it was level with her body. She pitched her muzzle downward, setting an angle that centered her sightline on her master’s hooves. Her own legs pressed inward, slightly reducing the bat’s stature, before she swung her tail to the side to reveal her marehood.
Mischief blossomed on Wing’s countenance. He slid in the opposite direction of Midnight’s tail and inspected his pet’s alignment right then and there. Even as other ponies and creatures passed through the entrance, the pegasus paid them no mind. Their giggles, smiles, and gestures of support washed away like white noise on a shore. “Do you remember that one time we met up after camp was over – when you insinuated that I was pretending to be your master?”
She shuddered, already knowing where he was going, and he brushed her flank with his namesake. Heated pants poured from her mouth in the moments that followed. His commanding stare sliced through the silence, subtly alluding to the most recent lesson. Midnight responded with a nod.
Immediately stoking the embers, Wing firmly tugged the leash and pressed his lips to her splayed ear. “I’m not pretending anymore,” he whispered in a gritty timbre that triggered a trembling cascade of twitches. The wave flowed along Middy’s back, sent her wings into a frenzy, and concluded with her winking, damp marehood wetting her inner thigh.
“That’s my good girl,” Wing continued, stepping in front of the batpony before he guided her forward. “Let everybody see that you’re mine, M-0117.”
Pressing a fang into her lower lip, Midnight maintained her posture as Wing gently led her back toward the large steps of the grand hall. Though she kept her eyes trained forward, she could feel the stares of others lock onto her yielding figure and displayed vulnerability. Her ears habitually jerked, and she kept her strides light – as if she were subconsciously avoiding additional attention.
Instead of ascending to the higher levels in the tower, Wing took the channel that parted the risers and remained on the ground floor. Once they passed through the gap, the duo veered left into a corridor that appeared far more modest in terms of its decorations and scale. Humming, Wing pointed at an orange elevator door that shattered the typical rhythm of banners and marble. “One day, I’ll take you down there. It’ll be something to anticipate – should my batpony continue to behave.”
Midnight briefly glanced at the bland stainless steel doors, but her focus rapidly returned to her master and the strap dangling between them. During the next few minutes, she held her tongue and watched Wing interact with several other members. Most of those exchanges had been limited to curt nods. Though, he did grin and tilt his head in Midnight’s direction when a shockingly excited, pompadour-wearing white unicorn mare passed by with a leashed blue pegasus in tow.
The acknowledgement rekindled Midnight’s blush, and she anxiously rubbed her hoof cuffs together in the aftermath of being casually shown off to another couple. Those ponderings were pushed to the back burner when Wing slowed to a stop in front of a private dungeon. The locked latch popped open at the behest of his enchanted mask, and with a kick of his leg, he revealed his selection to the adorable sub.
Compared to other Clocktower spaces, the room radiated a warmer vibe. The walls appeared bright. One side even had a whiteboard, and a large mirror had been mounted on casters such that it could be rolled around the perimeter of the chamber. The limitation in that movement came from the padded blue mats that covered most of the laminate.
Wing coaxed Midnight inside, locked the door behind the duo, and led the batpony onto the mats. The padded surfaces weren’t all that thick, but they added just enough cushioning to make the spot perfect for what he had planned. Unclipping the leash from the collar, the pegasus planted a kiss on Midnight’s forehead. “Such a spectacular form! And even maintained while others were gawking at your indisputable cuteness. Lifting her head and straightening her legs, Middy looked around the room while Wing dumped his saddlebag on the mat and opened it up. “I’m not cute,” she protested. “Cute sounds more like a certain somepony renting a dungeon on the ground floor of the main building.”
“Is that what you think?” Wing pulled a riding crop from the bag and coiled his feathers around the wrapped handle. “Those who smiled at your wonderful base pose had no idea where I was leading you. All they saw was a strong mare lowering her head for her master in flawless devotion. By the time we’re done, I’ll make sure that all of your submissive positions meet the same exceptional standard of quality.
“Since I didn’t get to bask in the view on the way here, why don’t we start with Display?” Wing’s lips curved upward as he began to walk in an arc that brought him alongside the taller mare.

The tactic drove the pair to circle one another in a deliberate prowl, which undeniably gave the experienced hunter an advantage over her dorky master. “We could always start with me pouncing you instead. In a locked dungeon with me, you’d better show that you’re still—”
In a succinct sequence of sharp motions, Wing loudly exhaled, collected the emerging water vapour with his innate magical ability, and swatted the tiny tuft that formed onto the tip of the crop. He whipped one of Midnight’s haunches with enough force to fragment the little cloud on impact and unload a jolting electrical charge into the batpony. Her challenge devolved into an embarrassing squeak, and the stallion’s sudden display of power rekindled her arousal.
“My pet seems to have forgotten that I have spent a lot of time honing my crafts. Perhaps phrasing it like a question was a miscalculation on my part. You will assume the Display position, and you will receive your master’s instruction. I can produce a lot more voltage than that, M-0117, but I would much rather be nice to a first-time student.”
“Bite me!” she hissed, recovering quickly from the shock.
Wing met the dare by delivering another electrified strike to her plot. The second charge was far stronger, and it induced a shuddering ripple that made Midnight’s step falter. “We’ll just skip ahead in the manual to Discipline then.” Wing slid behind the mare and planted a stinging strike to the other side of her rump. “Hind legs straight and spread. Chest and face pressed to the mat. Forehooves behind the back.”
“I said bite me—”
Taking his free feathered appendage, Wing spun together a fresh cloud tuft, accumulated a large amount of charge, and thundered forward to press the grey sparking mass directly against Midnight’s clit. While grinding his primaries against her entrance, Wing reached out with a foreleg, set his hoof on the center of her back, and pushed down as another series of shocks yanked a needy wail from the feisty sub.

The sensation of a feather’s touch vanished – only to be replaced by the same metal shoved against her entrance.

Those delightful notes persisted even after the stallion sat down in front of the mare’s lowered head.
“I could get used to a view like this,” Wing teased while lightly running his forehoof through her mane, “but let’s revisit things we skipped due to your little rebellious streak. Bow.”
Though certainly capable, the muscles in Midnight’s forelegs silently rejoiced when she was allowed to slide her limbs beside her chin. “You're sure it's left?” the unicorn whispered to her partner about their next move. Concern and caution muted her volume as anxiety scrunched her expression. Her horn still bore a magic-suppressing ring that the masters had undoubtedly placed there to mitigate any unwanted spells, and a silver-studded, standard red collar sat around her neck, showing the pony’s willingness to be used freely within Clocktower’s walls. “If it’s a dead end, we'll… You know what they’ll do, right?”
Not wanting to attract attention either, the earthpony companion hissed her reply in a harsh, yet restrained voice. “Right is just going closer to the masters again! Do you want to go in their direction?” An identical collar clung to the second mare of the duo. The studs weren't a surprise around these parts. In fact, they were mandatory for those who wished to enter the Lower Mines.
Unfortunately for the escapees, their quiet deliberations had not been quiet enough. Midnight’s bat ears heard every word, and she was not roaming the mines as a submissive. She was here as part of the scene, and that scene called for a creature of the night. Black paint surrounded her eyes, and a cloth-covered chain wrapped around her foreleg. Having decided on their best option, the mares soon turned to the left side of the fork. Little did they know that it was already too late. A whoosh of displaced air yanked at their manes and coats as Midnight landed in between the couple. Piercing screams of terror bombarded the stone corridors before the scraping sounds of scrambling hooves joined the score. The batpony would not afford the fugitives a single scrap of freedom.
With one smooth motion, Midnight uncoiled the chain from her limb. She slammed the first end clasp around the heart-shaped ring embedded in the unicorn’s collar, forcefully binding the frightened mage to the dooming links. The targeting order bought the earthpony an extra second to contemplate her getaway, but she hadn’t created enough distance. Midnight strategically placed her hoof to make the deserter stumble, and the brief moment of imbalance provided the window needed to clasp the other end of the chain to the mare’s collar.
The manoeuvre held no room for error. If Midnight had missed the heart-shaped rings, the earthpony could have prolonged the escape. While one recess of the hunter’s brain found playing with the prey appealing, tracking down parties all night grew tiring, and extending the assignment with a captive in tow would have been a pain in the ass. Thankfully, she didn’t miss.
“Where do you two think you’re going? Down!” Standing on the chain, the batpony smirked as she watched the shocked mares lower themselves to the ground. Midnight tilted her head toward the unicorn when she didn’t receive a prompt answer. “I asked a question, slave. ”
“P-Please! D-Don’t take us back there.” The unicorn cowered, letting out a few pathetic mewls, but she was unable to hide the look of raw need in her eyes.
Midnight showed a fanged smile and gently brushed a hoof over her captive’s cheek. “And what will you offer for me to do so?” she asked gleefully, having already heard this speech more than once tonight. With all the previous encounters, she had just given her prey menacing stares or rebuttals, but the temptation to abuse those silver studs grew with each outing.
“I, uhh, well…”
“Don’t do it, Glitter!”
Midnight was upon the earthpony within a fraction of a second to press the defiant mare’s head into the dirt. “Were you given permission to speak?” she growled while using the sub’s hair to gain additional purchase. “Perhaps I should teach you a lesson before returning you to your masters.”
Having brought a few items if the opportunity arose, the batpony tossed her saddlebag to the floor and moved to rummage through her equipment.

“SILENCE!” Midnight snarled. She spun around and glared at the mage as a biting edge usurped her voice. A serious timbre bled through as well, which the hunter hadn’t intended to reveal, and the impact drove the unicorn to cower even more.
“S-Staircase,” she stuttered through the confusion that was etched onto her pleading greyscale eyes and frowning face.
Immediately reeling herself in, Midnight took a deep breath to compose herself. The safeword was meant to slow a dom down if a scene was getting a little too intense – something the batpony now chastised herself for. She hadn’t meant to expose her insecurity about the marks on her flank, but it came out regardless.
“Up, both of you,” Midnight commanded, making sure she toned down her body language to not push either of the two over the line again. She was absolutely made for the role of a menacing hunter in the dark, and the missions made easy money that would help fund her own Clocktower escapades.
Soon, they arrived at a large central cavern where more ponies milled about. Some pulled carts, while others had been locked in cramped cages. Halting her stride, Midnight eyed Steel as he added the promised charge to her balance, which clocked the hunter’s account at a healthy eighty-eight and put her close to the tool’s maximum charge. Accounting for the brand and lashes she had stored on Wing’s body, the batpony’s Clocktower finances were looking strong, and that restored a proud smile to the mare’s face. “See? With that, Midnight turned to leave, but Steel halted her in her tracks. “Hey, Midnight! A corset, bridle, cuffs, and wingbinders followed – which progressively drove Wing’s fiery blush to more embarrassing levels. “Be a good girl for Mistress. Put on the dress.”

“Welcome to Le Parfum, where scents are spun. May I assist you, or has your search just begun?” a zebra greeted her new customers. Similar to Midnight, she was wearing both a collar and mask. Though, instead of white, hers was matte black.
“I’ll just browse for now. There are sample bottles for each of the fragrances, if I remember correctly, right?” Midnight asked, getting a nod in acknowledgement.
"Yes, there are indeed, along with paper strips to heed. Simply apply each scent, and test how much you need." The zebra held up one of the small pieces of paper she had behind the counter before turning her attention to some nearby brews and letting Midnight do her thing.
“If it’s your wish, I would gladly assist you with finding the right perfumes,” Wing proposed meekly while sharing a sweet smile with Midnight, who gave the notion some thought.
“A good enough idea. If you find one I like, then perhaps I’ll figure out a reward for you later,” Midnight eventually decided in a singsong voice. Wing silently bowed once Midnight unclipped the leash, and he quickly disappeared into another aisle to start his new quest.
As Midnight meandered through the store, she came to grips with the enormous selection. It wouldn’t have surprised the mare if the zebra running the place told her that they carried every aroma on the market. From scents as simple as the standard rose to one as complex as the bat flower , the options were endless, amusing, and mildly ironic. She didn’t particularly like the smell of her kindred choice, but it marked a noteworthy oddity she’d remember.
Rounding the bend to peruse the next row, Midnight suddenly came to a halt. Her muscles twitched, and her hair stood on end when the faintest tendrils of a familiar fruit yanked her focus directly to Wing. “Not that one!” she barked, her ears flicking as her dilated eyes homed in on his sprayed test strip.
The stallion jolted in surprise, and he popped his head up as high as he could before turning to his mistress. Without delay, he chucked the mango-enriched paper into the nearest scent-neutralising bin, replied with a wide-eyed, profuse apology, and ducked back down to resume his search.
Midnight briefly shuddered as a thought lingered in her mind. I love mangos, but having their smell around me constantly would drive me mad. Regaining her composure, she ventured into the aisle with more esoteric perfumes. Gone were the bottles labelled with flowers or fruits. “Well, thank you. He's undoubtedly a cutie,” Midnight answered with a smirk before she took note of the immense redness that painted Wing’s cheeks. “And he clearly loves public praise.”
“Those are certainly hard points to disagree with,” the pony chuckled, politely covering her muzzle to hide the smile that formed. She lit her horn with a blue aura that matched the color of her eyes, and she peered at Wing once mischievous intent tugged at the corners of her lips. “Would you mind?”
Midnight grinned wildly at the thought of putting her servant through such an ordeal. She made some space for the mystery mare to work with Wing before offering permission. “Please, do go on.”
In an instant, the unicorn's aura forced the pegasus to look up at her, and her professional evaluation commenced. “Hmm, black works quite well with all coat and mane combinations, but it is best to go all in with it if you pick it.”
Wing’s frozen expression and utterly flushed face left the impression that he wanted to sink into the ground under the weight of the examination. Midnight completely brushed that off and relished her maid’s fate. She couldn’t have scripted it better. The unexpected doting served icing on the cake and would cement her victory—
Undeterred by the frenzy of emotions, the newcomer carried on with her analysis and interrupted Midnight’s internal celebration. “An alternative would be a light blue colour for both the hooves and lipstick – not unlike those gorgeous eyes of yours.”

Gleaming, glossy marble greeted ponies from every direction, and the elegant banners and tapestries injected some color. Connected to the corridor through a carved, wooden archway, a dimly lit expanse awaited Wing and Midnight. He slowed to a stop before crossing the threshold and gestured toward an easel that sat in the middle of the path.

The glass funneled entrants toward the centerpiece exhibit, and with every step, Wing drew Midnight closer to her fate. Polished steel tubes rose from the floor and bent inward at their tops to create an abstract cage. A wider gap in the tube spacing faced the entrance of the gallery – perfect for guiding the batpony inside and garnering future views.
Every so often, the mare’s focus wandered to peek through the glass panes, but she’d inevitably catch her reflection and swivel her head to face Wing again. He hadn’t bothered with a leash this time around, and yet, she followed him without resistance. When he walked beneath the shimmering construct, he stepped to the side and cast a mischievous expression her way.
“Take a look around. I had this built just for you, Midnight. Every beam, every grommet forged into the sturdy frame, every ring”—his hoof pointed in numerous directions, highlighting the smooth holes and anchors evenly spaced up the length of each bar—“and the spotlights!” On cue, a set of six crystals fastened to the metal surfaces bathed the center of the cage in a serene glow. “Your wingpony will make sure you shine.”
The batpony’s breathing quickened as her keen gaze devoured the details. Her heart thumped and her muzzle reddened after his words sank in. “Wha.. When the fuck did you even do this? How did you even convince the managers to let you build this? Wing, this is—”
Thundering forward, the stallion hurled a commanding stare at Midnight, clutched her collar, and yanked her into a kiss. He growled as their lips met, and his hoof meandered from the band around her neck to her mane. He held her there for a moment, closing his eyes and waiting until the affection made her melt just a bit. “I’ve been too lenient if my sub is questioning her master already. Move to the center of the circle. Orient your body so your broadside is facing the opening, and assume the Down position.”

Utilizing the metal rings on Midnight’s collar as starting points, Wing began to weave a crisscrossing harness around the mare’s chest. When Wing popped the cap, the elixir fizzed, and the mare’s flared nostrils were immediately bombarded with the aromas of chocolate and cinnamon. “I’ve been working on this little gem since I got back from camp. It’s my very own Clocktail, and I think you’ll find the effects very well suited for a roped-up bat destined to be on display. Time to open up.”
Staring at the glass bottle drawing closer to her muzzle, Midnight fashioned a nervous smile. “You made a Clocktail, hm? Wh-What exactly does this one do?” Her voice carried a timid intonation, which reflected Wing successfully pushing her comfort zone. Though, the inquiry itself succinctly conveyed the batpony’s knowledge of the society’s special beverages.
“Things you’ll probably hate and then love,” Wing replied in a singsong, teasing manner that instantly made Midnight pout. “I can’t give away everything upfront. That would ruin the surprise. Also, I don’t recall getting any advance insight about a certain mare’s shopping spree. What I will say is that my concoction is a bit feisty and sweet – just like you.”
Despite sustaining her displeasure at the compliment, the mare could not contain the blush that swept over her cheeks and ears. A subdued snort served some dwindling defiance before she opened her mouth to accept the drink. At first, it reminded her of a cream soda. Even in her prone pose, Midnight found that the beverage went down easy – with the cinnamon kicks providing the main flavour of resistance.
Wing dropped the bottle into his saddlebag the second after it was emptied, and he resumed his work with a renewed sense of urgency that the mare definitely spotted. From the same pack, the pegasus plucked a polished metal toroid that matched the look of the towering cage. Requiring several passes, the stallion tossed multiple strands of thick cord through the loop and tied the opposite ends to various points along Midnight’s harness.
She cooed as the fibers coursed through her fur, and her hind legs tried to push against the spreader. Midnight blinked once the pangs of her growing need subsided. The Clocktail didn’t reveal an immediate effect, but she quirked her brow while trying to put a hoof on it.
The hoop quietly rattling on the floor yanked Midnight’s attention from her internal deliberations. She glanced upward to see Wing hauling six more paracords, which he fed through the anchor points in the arches. He tied the top-side strands together with a massive crown knot, which effectively formed a compact shower of manageable loose ends that could be moved as one unit. The other ends fed through the beams and down toward Midnight, and the pegasus methodically guided each one of the six ropes through the polished ring waiting at her side.
Once the lines were drawn through another set of anchor points in the steel beams and secured, the glimmering hoop hovered a couple feet above the sprawling mare. “Gorgeous,” Wing growled as he sauntered to the batpony. He snatched the purple lead attached to her mane, tugged the length through the suspended ring, and thoroughly knotted the twine around the smooth metal such that Midnight’s mane was pulled taut.
Panting as her head was lifted, Midnight moaned again. Another ripple bolted down her spine, and her haunches flexed as her master’s strokes painted the picture of her predicament. She shuddered, and he doubled down – grabbing her tail and braiding it too.
This time, however, he didn’t bring in any additional supplies. Instead, he flapped his namesakes, hovered, and dragged the vibrant blue fibers toward the metal toroid. That braid engulfed an arc of the ring, and after the flier worked the clumps of hair, Midnight’s tail was also upright, taut, and directly tied to the polished metal.
Squeaks and murmurs dribbled past the mare’s fangs as the air nipped at her extremely exposed entrance. It winked, and she snorted in response to the second wave of confusion that assaulted her senses. She should have been dripping more, but she wasn’t—
Wing darted upward and snatched the bundle of ropes just beneath the crown knot. He twisted his body, planting his hind hooves against the top of the cage, and pushed off for the floor with the cluster in tow. The manoeuvre pulled the batpony higher, and by the time Wing reached the base of the cage, Midnight’s three dangling legs were about a foot off the ground.
“M-Master,” Midnight spoke up, shuddering from the feel of the harness squeezing and supporting her frame. The sounds of the cords scraping along the chosen beam drilled into her ears as well, and when Wing appeared in front of her with another rope and cuff in his grasp, it clarified exactly what he had been doing outside of her direct line of sight – given that she was still airborne.
“We’re almost there,” he answered, strapping her unbound foreleg before feeding the line through the cuff’s metal fitting. Wing smirked at Midnight as he carried the twine toward the lowest hole of the beam she faced. Naturally, her appendage straightened until it was pointing downward at a roughly 45-degree angle, and the pegasus promptly yanked the rope through the anchor point and added another tie to his arsenal.
With that, Wing trotted beside his captive. His feathers raked her side, and he reached down to collect the last rope ends he needed to address. This was the purple strand he had wrapped around the spreader bar, and while it was a simple addition, he secretly held it as the pièce de résistance of the exhibit. With steady flaps, he ascended until he was roughly two-thirds up the height of the cage. Each end of the rope went into the nearest hole in adjacent beams, and Wing kept pulling until Midnight’s hind legs formed a line with her outstretched forelimb and body.
After applying the final knots to keep the mare’s limbs held aloft, Wing landed beside her helpless figure and purred at the result. “Exactly as I intended! Like a fierce hunter in the midst of her pounce… and a fierce hunter who is now mine.”
Succumbing to yet another fiery blush, Midnight huffed and struggled in her restraints. Of course, the suspension held firm, only accommodating small wiggles of her appendages and barrel. Her muzzle experienced a little more range of movement, but that induced painful reminders through her mane that subdued further fuss.
Wing grinned at the sight of the batpony’s writhing. The signs of a well-designed setup were plastered on her face. Every twitch in her cheek or bite of her lip displayed her devotion. Her body fared no better, for each cord-creaking jerk she produced through her plight betrayed just how riled he had made his beloved bat. However, the job wasn’t quite done.
He briefly turned his attention to his saddlebag to retrieve a clippable safety bell and a purple ball gag. “Tying your tail runs afoul of safety-bell restrictions, but I’m afforded the opportunity to test another CTRL product.” He started hovering next to Midnight’s pierced left ear and attached the bell to one of her studs.
A pulse of light flashed across the eye holes in Wing’s mask, and he quietly snorted in scientific satisfaction. “Give it a ring with a flick of your ear, please.”
Once the command was heeded and an audible note cut through the gallery, Wing drifted to Midnight’s muzzle to push the soft silicone gag into place. He worked the buckle with his hooves while he peered into her blue eyes, and a giddy smile swept across his countenance. His forehooves slowly shifted toward her collar, and his forehead lightly pressed against hers after he closed the gap between them.
“Before I show everyone else how priceless you are, there’s something important that I want you to know. You’re incredibly special to me, and”—Wing moved his lips to her ear and unleashed a hungry whisper—“I want you.”
An adorable, embarrassed “mmf” rammed into the gag’s surface while Midnight’s entire figure quivered from the stallion’s stunning declaration. For a few seconds, she fought against the ropes with renewed vigour before settling on nuzzling his chest to the best of her ability.
“You’re so fucking cute,” he added quietly and returned to his saddlebag. He rummaged through its contents again and retrieved a vibrating wand, which was held aloft to ensure the mare saw it. “In case it still isn’t clear what my elixir does, I believe this will clarify everything.”
The batpony sharply inhaled when the toy and pegasus disappeared from view, and her ears swivelled the moment the buzz reached them. She bit her lower lip in anticipation and suppressed the squeal that emerged when the wand’s head pressed against her clit. Her muscles tensed against the ropes, and she attempted to thrash as the waves of pleasure wrecked her nerves.
Midnight barely moved amidst the fuss, but her marehood winked with an insatiable need that devoured the vibe’s tip. Heated breaths assailed the surface of the gag, and every gasp carried a note that grew in volume. Once the stallion turned up the toy’s intensity, the batpony fully grasped what he had done. The overhead lights suddenly shifted to a warmer temperature – a sign for other Clocktower members that the gallery was now open for general admittance. All Midnight could do was gasp, grunt, and squirm as the incessant bombardment continued.
Waiting for guests to arrive, the pegasus approached the glimmering beam directly in Midnight’s sightline and leaned against the steel. A smug expression invaded his smile as he watched the batpony struggle to keep him in focus. Each rumbling crescendo yanked another melodic note from her lungs, and her pupils wandered at the behest of the torment that kept her perpetually pressed against her denied climax.
For minutes, the pair basked in this cycle with Wing never shifting his gaze. Even when the murmur of visitors stroked Midnight’s senses, the stallion kept his chocolatey eyes trained on his mare. He watched while she futilely tried to swallow her moans and escape the attention. The pointless attempt only fueled his grin, and after a brief flicker swirled around his mask, the vibe’s pulses spiked in intensity.
Guttural cries erupted from Midnight’s muzzle. The gathering crowd remained pin-drop silent for the symphony of wails and strings. Frustration built around the batpony’s furrowing brow and cutely bared fangs. A high-pitched squeal raced past the beams after Wing upped the frequency of the vibrator, and he continued to stare at his writhing prize until her eyes went wide and she unleashed a desperate scream.
The pegasus made the most of the moment. He pushed himself forward, trotted to the opening of the abstract cage, and calmly began to address the growing audience. “Good evening. Ladies, gentlecolts, and kind creatures the world over, I welcome you to the special exhibit of Wing’s Whisper. Behind me, I have ensnared an exquisite hunter. Practically caught mid-leap, this brilliant, priceless bat is a tantalising tease who has charmed me with her beauty and frustrated me to no end with her unrelenting brattiness.”
Wing paused for dramatic effect, forcing Midnight to endure the echo of his words and allowing the crowd to aww at her reddened face. “Some of you might have even seen how she’s kept me under her cute, thorny wing thumbs. However, M-0117 is mine, and as a Distinguished Scientist with CTRL, I have developed the perfect counterattack to deal with strong, stubborn switches.
“Wing’s Whisper is the ultimate edger. Designed to inhibit right before the gates of climax, this new Clocktail will ensure that your pet, no matter the sex, has zero chance of achieving release until the dosage runs its course. Or, for those of you wearing collars out there, it ensures that your owner will have you mewling for as long as they damn well please.”
Cheekily setting the vibe to its maximum setting, Wing held his tongue until Midnight’s pleas and screams slammed into the gag’s silicone. He turned around to look at his catch, and he slid closer to drag a forehoof along her roped barrel. “See? Take it from a pony who knows. Her thighs should be soaked right now, and yet, they’re bone dry. Kept as a pristine, priceless piece of art – my cherished property – until my will lets her have bliss.”
Wing brushed her curled foreleg as violent shudders conquered his pretty mare. “Now you know exactly what it’s like, Priceless.” With that, the pegasus gestured toward the visitors with his namesake and wrapped up his introduction. “The drink will be showing up in the CTS bars tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the spectacle of my gorgeous pet and her struggle. Just remember, no touching. It breaks the gallery rules, and she’s mine.”
Midnight panted as Wing’s hoof and feathers raked her coat. The oscillating pattern resumed, and each jolt pushed another embarrassing note from her lungs. He went as far as to walk beneath her suspended frame and rub his tail and coat against her barrel. When he popped out in front of the batpony, she couldn’t avoid his scent either. If she had been free, she would have pounced on him right there. She would have fucked him into the ground, and not a single pony could have pried him from her grasp. Instead, all she could do was moan, wail, and whimper while he went back to smugly leaning against the beam.
“I knew it. I could never forget a face! Darling, you look dashing with a mask, too.” Rarity’s voice made Wing’s ears twitch and Midnight’s blush deepen. “Now I’m even happier that I accepted this invitation. Such bold lines, an excellent physique, and fantastic rope work to boot!”
Wing glanced at the white unicorn and smiled. Rarity stood in the opening of the abstract cage, and while her focus had centered on the conversation with the pegasus, another flier stood beside the fashion designer and struggled to keep her light-blue wings folded.
Each time the mare’s magenta eyes devoured Midnight’s predicament, the appendages pomfed again. “Fuck, that’s hot,” she whispered just loud enough for Rarity to cast a sidelong glance of disapproval at her eternity-collared submissive.
“Dear,” Rarity interjected, “if you continue to be crass, I will not go out of my way to put you in a similar position.”
The blunt delivery made Rainbow Dash snap her muzzle shut. However, her eyes kept darting from rope to rope as she ogled the suspended batpony.
Rarity gestured to Wing with her foreleg. “This is the pretty maid I was telling you about, and I must admit I am greatly intrigued by the reversal of fortunes. White Collars sharing such devoted, mutual displays of affection”—she threw her wrist to her forehead and sighed—“so romantic! I must hear the details, especially after such an introduction. How did you meet? How long have you been members? Will we see you in black collars soon?”
Wing’s feathers fluttered, and he blushed upon being called a pretty maid. The more Rarity pressed, the more flustered he became. Inevitably, he snapped his gaze back to Midnight and released a relieved sigh as he savoured her struggling, aroused figure. He hummed thoughtfully before a giddy smile accompanied his flushed cheeks. “We met several months ago during a Shadowbolt Reservist flight camp. The organisers made us roommates by mistake, but I’d say that ended up being a happy accident.”
The stallion’s chest floof puffed out the instant he detected Rainbow’s intent, curious glare, and he fashioned a subtle smirk. “Yes, RD-001, I know who you are. You’d have to be buried under a rock named Tom not to know that. As for our memberships, I don’t know how long Middy’s been involved with Clocktower, but I’ve been around for long enough to build some of the dark and mysterious places.” Wing’s voice trailed off while he pondered Rarity’s last question. “Darling, that would be spoilers.”
Wing set the vibe on an extremely fast pace and grinned wildly as Midnight’s shrieks and wails of unbridled lust reverberated throughout the gallery. “But we have been on a few dates, and I am extremely devoted to my priceless hunter.”
Ordinarily, the batpony’s unparalleled sense of hearing would have revealed every single word uttered by the trio. But in this instance, she could only make out a few bits and pieces over the sound of her own screams. Midnight shuddered and squirmed as the vibrations kindled a fire in her depths. The agonizing burn drove heavy pants through her throat that accompanied the numerous squeals she hurled toward her guests.
Time lost meaning while she dangled there. In one moment, she could still see Wing blushing as he talked with Rarity and Rainbow. Her eyes rolled back from the surge of need, and – by the time Midnight’s gaze found the pegasus again – the girls were gone. His stupidly smug expression coaxed another round of melodic moans, but all those notes brought were numerous cycles of intense pulsing at shifting frequencies.
Her breathing grew ragged for a stretch, and Midnight allowed the rope tugging her mane to bear the brunt of her sagging head. She lost focus again and let her thoughts drift to an imagined scene in which Wing broke free from his chastity cage and railed his pony. Desperately groaning into the gag at the notion of him destroying her marehood, Midnight found Wing again. The murmurs had vanished. The lights had dimmed, and her stallion stood alone – with that smug grin still etched upon his countenance.
Drips finally flowed down her thigh, and Wing promptly shut off the vibe. He vanished beneath her barrel and removed the toy before his forelegs reached to grip her haunches. The pegasus pulled himself up and planted his muzzle against Midnight’s clit. He licked, nipped, nuzzled, and rubbed while the elixir wore off. Midnight battled to snatch those memories. A wave of relief washed away the torment she had endured, but the hours of edging had run their course. She breathed in his scent and shifted her muzzle to confirm that she was lying atop Wing. His hooves gently brushed her mane, back, and wings, and she let out a sigh before her fangs grazed his neck and pressed down.
Wing quietly grunted from the bite while he tended to his priceless bat. “Midnight,” he whispered in a quiet voice that pierced her lingering fog, “the white collars aren’t enough for us. They aren’t enough... when I’ve completely fallen for you.”
