It was the most special time in Reine City. The holiday season. Reine City was already a magical place, but for one month out of the entire year, it became a completely different place. It was Velvet’s favorite time of year. It used to be because her fans gave her lots of gifts, but ever since she met Vixen, she started to love it for another reason entirely. Vixen was given a month off, along with all the other Elites, to spend the holidays with their families or whatnot, meaning that Vixen could spend more time with the doe that she loved.

Tonight however they didn’t have any elaborate plans like they usually did. They had already decorated their homes together (they didn’t actually do the decorating, they just had their winter sprites do it,) they had already gone to every special play they were showing this time of year, they had already enjoyed their fair share of ice skating and ice sculpture making, even though those two activities were a year-round sort of thing, which makes sense in a land of eternal winter. And so tonight, not being in the mood to go out, they spent their night at Velvet’s home in front of a fire.

Vixen always loved Velvet’s home. Of course, ‘home’ would be a vast understatement to describe her place. You see, Velvet lived in a manor. She was, after all, the ice queen! Velvet’s manor, located in one of the more busier parts of town, had EVERYTHING. Six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a ginormous library, a huge kitchen and dining room, a cellar, a greenhouse, a tennis court, four emergency exits, a vault, a panic room, a room full of mirrors for Velvet to admire herself, a bathhouse, and a humble little living room where the two spent most of their time, along with the master bedroom, of course. How did Velvet afford to pay for such a place? Her father paid for it. Velvet chipped in, of course… By using her college savings.

Out of all the rooms in Velvet’s manor that were probably older than the two of them combined, the living room was probably the simplest room in the entire home. It was the perfect place for them to simply unwind and spend time with one another. Tonight, Velvet and Vixen sit in front of the fireplace, empty cups of hot chocolate sitting beside their hooves. Curious readers might imagine that sitting in front of a campfire while covered in fur would make for an uncomfortable time, but it’s important to note that air conditioning doesn’t exist in Fœnum.

The room was silent except for the gentle crinkling of the flame, and Velvet sat silently while her doefriend softly stroked her floof, something she usually charged other reindeer to do. Vixen was the only exception.

“Can’t get enough of ze floof, can you~?” Velvet turned her head, locking eyes with her lover.

Vixen chuckled, she heard Velvet say that at least five times a day, yet she never grew tired of hearing it, “You know it, snowflake~” Vixen murmured, using her other hoof to pull Velvet’s head closer.

Velvet snuggled closer, her tail fluttering as their bodies touched, their floof ruffling each other, as they got closer. Vixen lowered her head, delicately nuzzling her cheek, “What would I ever do without you, ice queen?”

Velvet giggled as she pulled away, “You couldn’t live without me~”

And that was right. Life without Velvet seemed unbearable. Agonizing, even. The only way Vixen wanted to live was with Velvet right by her side, “You’re right~”

Their snouts touched, and Vixen felt Velvet’s hooves start gracefully dancing over her body, “You don’t have to worry~” Velvet said, her voice lowering to a whisper, “I’ll never leave you~”

Vixen shivered, her each twitching. Her promise carried only the most sincere, most genuine love, and Vixen believed it with every fiber of her being. She hugged her doefriend tightly, as if someone would try to take Velvet away from her. “And I’ll never leave you either.”

“Good~,” Velvet said, sighing softly as Vixen started exploring her body. Velvet was a beautiful, beautiful doe, and it was no wonder that everybody wanted a piece of her. Despite being one of the Elite, Vixen always found herself surprised that SHE was the one who was able to win her love. They were both almost the same, yet it was like they were both worlds apart.

Velvet stayed perfectly still as she touched her, Vixen felt the slow rise and fall of her chest as she held her close, rubbing down from her back to her thick haunches. Velvet blushed, and Vixen giggled as her face turned a shade of pink similar to her own body while she poked her flank, feeling more adventurous than usual.

“You should be lucky I love you so much.” Velvet said, blinking slowly, her cheeks still red, “I would kick ze oats out of anyone else who did that to me~”

Vixen pulled away to just look at her doefriend again. Velvet’s muzzle curved in a smile. She was beautiful, there was no other way to describe it. There were no words that could be said to describe just how gorgeous she was. Vixen never had an eye for females, she always thought she would fall for a buck eventually… But never a doe! Oh… When her father found out that she was dating another doe… He was mad… Vixen briefly recalled his fury when he discovered she was dating Velvet, and how it escalated into a huge argument when she tried to defend herself. In the end, she was glad that she stood up to her father. Ever since she started seeing Velvet, her life changed for the better… Even if people started fawning over her like they did Velvet.

Velvet closed her eyes and started leaning over for a kiss. Vixen blushed, her heart thumping in her chest as she quickly snapped back to reality, closing her eyes and meeting Velvet’s muzzle with her own. The two does kissed, their heads slowly tilting, their hooves touching, as they finally did what they wanted to do from the moment their little date had begun. Velvet was a fabulous kisser, at least, according to Vixen, she was. She didn’t know what exactly made someone a good or a bad kisser. It didn’t matter. It was the greatest feeling in the world, and that’s all that mattered to her.

“I love you, Vixen~” Velvet chirped, licking her muzzle, “From the bottom of my heart.” She said that with no accent… She really did mean it. Velvet always used a phony accent whenever she spoke, to make herself sound sophisticated and fancy, diligently sticking to it, only dropping it when she got angry. It was the first time Vixen had heard her ever speak without it… She must really love her…

And Velvet really did. Though her words said plenty, all Vixen needed to do was look into her eyes to see the undying love twinkling in those big blue diamond eyes to know just how much Vixen meant to her. A kind of feeling that Velvet herself had never felt towards any other reindeer other than herself. They rested their heads together, content with being with each other.

“Do you vish to stay with me tonight, darling?” Velvet said, her accent returning as quickly as it disappeared. Vixen couldn’t help but laugh a little. Velvet frowned, “Vhat?”

Vixen laughed again, bopping her snout with a hoof, “Nothing, my deer~” she said, “I would love to stay the night with you…~”
