Author's Note
hi everyone! I'm sorry for any possible mistakes - english is not my first language, nor second. there are illustrations to the text that my girlfriend makes (m-a-l-u-m on tumblr), please tell us what you think in the comments! we just love evil startrix so so much that we decided to create something and share our silly little headcanons in a form of an illustrated story. it's a 1950's human au so we worked HARD to make everything as historically accurate as possible. there will be a LOT of chapters, and things will get steamy! love y'all!
also we wanted to thank a few authors with gorgeous trixie and/or starlight art who inspired us:

Acquaintances
The crowd gasped in awe as the magician sawed through the box with the volunteer who felt brave enough to participate in a magic trick at first, but now was keeping her eyes shut in anticipation of being split right in half. And when the boxes, containing the said halves were shown to the previously frightened crowd, people started cheering and clapping, while the volunteer was nervously looking around, being glad to be left alive.
"Thank you everybody! Thank you so much! You have been an awesome audience!". People started cheering louder. "The Great and Powerful Trixie Lulamoon loved performing in your town!"
After the show was over and loud cheering turned into quiet murmuring from the people who were going back home, Trixie was trying to wipe away what was left from her stage makeup (shouldn’t have gone so heavy on the highlighters) in her traveling van. As she was naggingly rubbing her cheek, someone gently knocked on the door. Trixie raised a brow - she didn’t expect any more fans tonight.
“I’m sorry, but the Great and Powerful Trixie isn’t giving any more autographs tonight!” she exclaimed, still looking in the mirror. The bulbs that were attached around her mirror shed some warm light on her surroundings - the walls that were decorated with different posters and sometimes photos of different women in suggesting poses, a coat hanger, some chests she was using to store her things…
“Surely I consider myself a big fan of your performance, but I am not here for your autograph right now,” said a familiar, muffled female voice behind the door.
“Oh, it’s you! Why didn’t you say so? Just give me a quick second,” hurriedly responded the young magician. Trixie was a relatively tall, lean, brown-skinned woman in her mid-twenties, who now quickly put down her makeup pad, dusted herself off, and hurried to open the door of her van.
“Hi there! I just wanted to drop by for a quick chat. I won’t take much of your time, I promise,” said the woman, standing in the entrance. Trixie and her were around the same age, although the lady was a bit shorter than her.
“Yeah, not a problem. Come in.” she said, inviting her late visitor in. The woman thanked her while stepping into her van, curiously looking around. It looked just like a typical celebrity’s dressing room with a few added pieces of furniture, but… A little unkempt.
“Your performance today was magnificent! Everybody loved it. The cards, the metal rings, and don’t even get me started on the sawing!” she praised her. It sounded genuine, and Trixie always loved genuine praise. By that time, she could always differentiate between false flattery and actual compliments.
“Thanks Starsparkle, it turned out to be even more of a success than usual. Although, I always make quite an impression on my audience,” cheeringly answered Trixie, clearly being proud of herself.
“It’s Starlight. Starlight Glimmer,” the lady corrected her, seeming to not take it as an offense.
“Yeah, sorry Starlight,” the magician apologized nonchalantly, as she had already returned to her makeup stand, removing the last bits of eyeliner. Starlight raised her brows at this, and started to look around more, noticing some of the props and clothes lying around on what looked like tables (which, she was pretty sure, were just some chests with a cloth thrown over them), boxes, she was surprised the floor was relatively clean. It looked like no one bothered to tidy up here in a good hot minute.
“Wow, this is quite an… artistic clutter you have in here,” the lady voiced her concerns, tucking a strand of her dark, long hair behind her ear. She picked up a snow globe that was laying on its side on the nearest box. It had some high-rise buildings and a Statue of Liberty inside of it, with a sign below that said “New York City”. Starlight put it back, noticing a dartboard near it, with what looked like a photo with torn edges, pinned to it as a target. Perhaps it was from a poster, she thought. A tan, mysteriously looking middle aged man in a suit was grinning in the photo. He had a dark, curled mustache and a goatee, along with a shiny, golden tooth. Judging by the sole fact of this picture being on the target board, pinned by two darts this man was a rival of Trixie’s. There was a word beside the photo, right at the edge - “Disco”, and Starlight wasn't sure if that was the whole word, as the rest was torn off. By the looks of it he was also a performer, possibly competing with her in show business (maybe he performs at different clubs and that is what the “Disco” was about, Starlight thought). She wondered if people really lived on the road in vehicles like this, traveling from state to state and constantly meeting new people. Starlight always preferred to settle in one place and keep everything organized and neat. Tidy house, tidy mind, just like her father always used to say.
“Yup, and the best thing is - I always know where anything I need is! It’s just those damn makeup pads… Give me just a moment,” Trixie started nervously going through different drawers in her makeup stand, clearly being run out of cotton pads for removing her makeup. “What did you want to talk about, by the way?” she asked, crouching down and rummaging through all different types of things, with the tails of her blue tailcoat jacket now dragging on the ground.
“Oh yeah. I was just wondering that maybe you’d fancy resting in a real bed tonight, and by that I mean our guest house,” offered Starlight. Trixie gave her a quick nasty look, thinking she was judging her living space.
“No, no, I didn’t mean to offend you, or your van–” she tried to explain herself, but the young magician cut her off mid-sentence.
“The Great and Powerful van, you mean?” she asked, standing up, crossing her arms and raising a brow. Even though the inside of the van looked somewhat messy right now, it’s really special to Trixie. She found this van all rusty and missing different parts on the side of the road a few years ago, and although it was not an old model, the years of all types of weather and animals got to it. And it was love at first sight. Surely, it took some time, effort and of course money, spent in the old car shop that her uncle ran, with him mumbling and grunting about the state of the car as he was fixing it, but she got it up and running, renovated the inside to make look like a Hollywood’s actors’ dressing room and painted the outside a pretty blue color, spraying on some white stars as a final touch. So yes, this van was like her own kid to her, whom she dearly loved and cared about. And certainly did not let anyone disrespect it.
“Yes, your Great and Powerful van. I just meant that maybe you would want to spend the night in a house, because unfortunately, every now and then at night a pack of boars runs past our town… We’re not sure why they do that, but we still need to take precautions,” warned her Starlight with a confident, but a little off-putting look in her steel blue eyes. Which were really standing out, considering everything else in her looks was warm and pretty welcoming: her soft face features, chestnut hair, teal suit with a skirt, tomato red shirt and short, dark heels that were making a nice clicking sound when she moved around. There was an unmistakable sense of authority whenever she talked - it wasn’t an overbearing feeling, but you could tell who’s superior in the conversation.
“Oh- Okay. Didn’t know that, that’s for sure…” Trixie started nervously twisting a wavy lock of her blond hair that had fallen out of her short ponytail. A pack of wild animals is something she has dealt with before in her travels, but surely would’ve liked to avoid it. A bunch of hungry coyotes once tried to attack Trixie and her van when she tried to heat up some canned meat campfire-style and have dinner outside in her camping chair after a show she did in a town near a valley. She managed to stay unharmed, but repairs of the van have cost her a pretty coin.
“Well, then I guess I-” the young magician was interrupted by a loud rumbling that was coming from her stomach. Starlight slightly chuckled at the view of Trixie, who really resembled a sad, hungry puppy right now.
“And what did Great and Powerful Trixie have for dinner tonight? A slice of applause with a side of ovation?” she said sarcastically, with a smirk on her face and playful lights in her eyes.

“Mind you, it was a full meal! There was also a lot of praise served with a couple of bravos!” she said sassily, trying to hide the embarrassment, but her stomach growled once more, even louder than before. Trixie sighed. “But I have to admit, the Great and Powerful Trixie is having a pack of crackers and a handful of raisins for dinner tonight. I thought that I could get something after the show, but everything was already closed. Is your village always this quiet at 9:30 in the evening?” she asked, with palpable annoyance in her voice.
“Ah yes, sorry I didn’t warn you before - our village has a curfew that starts at 10 in the evening, and ends at 5 o’clock in the morning, so everything is surely closed at this time of the day. A safety measure like this protects us from dangers like wild boars or strangers, who do not wish well,” explained the lady. Before Trixie could ask or even think about those mysterious ill-wishing strangers in the village that’s literally in the middle of nowhere, Starlight carried on, “Would you be interested in having dinner over at my house? I have some leftover meatloaf with mashed potatoes and canned peas. I already had dinner, but I don’t mind heating it up for you. What’d you say?” she suggested. Trixie’s hazel eyes lit up at the mention of a warm meal.
“Yes! I would actually love that. Wow, we’ve been talking for only what, 5 minutes? And you already succeeded to ask me out for dinner. You’re a flirt, Starlight Glimmer,” she smiled smugly at her. Starlight looked caught off for a second, clearly taken by surprise, but regained her composure after a few seconds. A delightful sight just for Trixie, who was clearly enjoying her little moment, anticipating a reaction like that.
“What can I say? I always make sure to be a hospitable host and take care of my guests. Perhaps you can stay at my place, as your dinner will probably end well past the curfew. Gather the things you need for the night, and I will be waiting for you in my house. Just knock 4 times and I will let you in. My house is quite near your van, as you might have noticed, the one with an apple tree right beside it. Hurry up, the curfew starts soon!” and before Trixie even could say anything, she walked out of the van, closing the door behind her.
“What a woman…” mumbled Trixie, fascinated by the somewhat bossy lady. But she would lie if she said she didn’t like that about her.
