A flash step into learning how magic works.

Within Twilights mind

"Huh, interesting." I said looking at the glaive

"Let's continue reading the manual that appeared with me." I was reading a heavy leather bound book with the soul reaper logo on it.

"Hello? Miss alicorn lady?" said the young Twilight "There you are, and what's that?"

"It's a manual that I use to remember how to teach some spells as learning them is different then already knowing how to use it, and just casting. You would need to know how it works before you can cast it as second nature."

"Ok so what do we start with? Me teaching you magic, or you teaching me some cool spell?" she asked a little impatiently for new knowledge.

"We will start with you teaching me with magic as it would be best to know how work with it." we started talking about mana flows, and magical output starting with levitation which took a while as I kept sending imaginary mugs into nothingness, after that we tested my mana capacity... it was 2x my Reiatsu, so that was quite the feat alone. We finished playing around with mana, now we play with speed. "First you need to learn how to use spirit energy."

"What's spirit energy, Why do I have it, and lastly because I forgot to ask before why are you in my head?" She asked curiously with a cheerful grin almost about to split her face, and her head tilted making her ears flop to one side.

'EEEEEEEE she's adorable. This is my child now sorry not sorry Ms. Velvet' "Well my little scholar spirit energy is almost identical to magic, but while magic is power around you spirit energy is well energy from your spirit, or more accurately soul." after I said that Twilight's bugged out and screamed in outrage "MY SOUL!? WHY WOULD I USE MY SOUL!?"

I was at a loss "This energy held within your soul, not the soul itself, is used to produce impressive abilities like what I'm about to teach you." as soon as I said that I use Shunpo to get behind Twilight spooking her when I speak behind her "this ability is known as Shunpo, or flash steps. This ability is the least dangerous that could think of."

Twilight was shocked stiff to where I had to booped her on the nose to get her attention back "hay don't do that our noses are sensitive... wait why could I feel that."

"That's because instead of a dream you are directly in your mind as a soul, so it's not recommended to continuously do this without natural sleep." said in Twilights favorite way known as teacher Y⚐︎☠︎✌︎😐︎✌︎. Yes she found a way to get one letter out of my name after the 3 hours learning magic. "First I will have to open you spirit energy AKA make it physically noticeable." I put my hand above where her heart is, and used a touch of SP to let her feel her pathways.

"That feels weird," looking at her now glowing body "Looks weird too." the glowing was not white, but a bright lavender.

"It's almost like your spirit energy and mana are mixed. Impressive, now that you can feel your weird concoction of what Imma just call spirit mana lets try using it. focus on the spirit mana, and let it flow to your legs," as I say that I see Twilight moving her Spirit Mana(TM) to her limbs "Now try walking on the air." she lifted her leg and set foot on the air like a step stool "Now for the hard part. Run using as few steps as possible going as far as possible,"

"Ummm ok" she tried to run it a strait line, but ended up sending herself into the floor after 3 steps "ow"

"Ok let's try again but on ground so you don't sling yourself to the ground." I said she got back up on the ground and tried again. Thanks to luck, and maybe divine intervention this place was completely flat, but that also means it's slippery making it hard for Twilight to keep a grip in the floor sliding, and tripping like a drunk sometimes "Ok I think I know the problem. You're using too much energy so you have less stability It's like when you try running with different sized shoes, Try using less energy." with that she closes her eyes, and the light from her limbs dim down a bit "Ok now try again." she runs again, and this time she did it, but she was still a little dizzy from going at 60% the speed of sound.

"ughhh I feel dizzy, *rapidly shakes head* I finally did it!" she said jumping up, and down cheering, but after all of this my eyes shot open

"Umm twilight how long have we been training?" I said slightly panicking while also forcing Twilight to wake up.

Twilight's bedroom

"TWILIGHT!" yelled a frantic Shining Armor "You're about to be late for school!"

"WHAT!?" Twilight shot up, and started panicking grabbing everything she needed except the group project

"You forgot your project. I said, reminding her about it.

"Thanks," she grabs her project, and subconsciously uses Shunpo to get to school. "That ability really is useful to get here in 2 seconds." Everyone was staring at her like some type of demon.

"Good thing that was the first thing I taught you eh?" I said with smugness

"yes I get it your a proud teacher" Twilight said out-loud, but the crowd talking to each other was louder

Classroom

"Today we will be showing our projects about the rune system of magic. Twilight, would you, and your group like to show your project?" Mrs. Script asked my wielder

"Oh sure, give me a second. *pulls 3 books, 2 pamphlets, and a poster* There we go let me just set it up" Twilight said, making the teacher give a look of concern for this foal's mental health, and being impressed by this filly's focus on education.

"Well this is my entire project about the rune system of magic." She started to talk about the necessities of runes for more permanent applications like kitchen appliances to more complicated things like the train that I can't stress this enough is called the "Friendship Express" which was really educational for every~~one~~pony including me. After everyone showed their project which by all means paled in comparison to the bookworm princess known as Twilight Sparkle. 'I heard that'

"I know." I said as Twilight could feel my smile.

"Ok class just so you know tomorrow we will be talking about "the Last Shinigami, and Wises Wizard" Star Swirl The Bearded." said Mrs. Script

"Must have a powerful constitution then... Wait "Last Shinigami"!?" I said with a heavy feeling of confusion. "How do they deal with Hollows without Shinigamis then?" I asked wondering how that was possible unless the other Shinigamis were hiding from the public to keep the Hollows at bay.

'What are Hollows, and why did she mean by "Last Shinigami"?' asked Little Magic in her head

"Hollows are monsters, and from what I am HOPING is that she unknowingly meant the last Shinigami open to the public because if not so we have a BIG problem."

"Twilight the answer is B"
'No it's A because if you go with B the formula mixes there, and there making it blow up'
"No it would only mix there, and there leaving the end part more stable to make a thin magical barrier so when in use the barrier will mix with the rest making a quick grow solution because if you do it with A the solution with consume to much magic subsequently making it act slower."
'...You're right... how.'
"I'm in your mind, and is using a whiteboard at the moment, while A is also the answer in a more unnecessary stable way using up too much magic I'd rather use B for such application... WHY ARE WE LEARNING ABOUT ALCHEMY YOUR 6 YEARS OLD!"
'I... skipped a lot of grades,' apparently 4 of them exactly.

Back home

"Twilight, what did we talk about using high level spells not authorized by us?" Ms. Velvet said as her, Strawberry who learned was named Cadence, and Mr. Light stared disappointed while I was not happy with MY child 'even though I am a part of her soul I am mostly my own soul from being transported here.' being reprimanded for using the most common ability of a Soul Reaper. "Another thing here, did you even learn teleportation?"

"It wasn't teleportation." my little magic correcting them as all Shunpo was is "Gotta Go Fast" while defying the laws of physics like other types of magic.

"Then what is it as the only spell that could transport you instantly is teleportation which is dangerous for fillies if they don't do the spell correctly."

"Ok this is getting annoying really quick. Just tell them about Shunpo, but leave out the spirit stuff because i think they could make a weaker version of it if they brute force it enough making it believable."

"It's called Shunpo which translates to Flash Steps. The spell is self explanatory due to using magic to heighten speed without harming the cast due to the magic also stops the user from feeling the effects of high speeds." she said going into her teacher mode.

"And who taught you this?" said Cadence

"Well..."
"Just say you wanted to create a spell."
"I wanted to create a new spell last night, that's the reason why I was almost late for school. Good thing the spell worked **"

"..."
"..."
"... That has to be the dumbest thing you've done next to seeing how many Hayfries can Shining fit in his mouth." Cadence said as everyone deadpanned.

"Well it worked..." Twilight said slightly sweating bullets

"you're grounded from your spell books for 2 weeks, and not using that spell again. We don't know how dangerous it is" Ms. Velvet said with a slightly irritated voice. "The last time you tried making a spell you made half the Furniture combust."

"When did that happen?!"
'When I first got introduced to the runic alphabet.'
"Impressive."
