This story takes place in a town far from Canterlot, to a Sunset that never knew friendship or compassion. Rather, knew only of loneliness and bittersweet tales of solace.
Within the town of Ravon, where people come to celebrate Christmas as their favorite holiday cheer. One woman grew to hate it. She was not cruel or selfish to those around her like some other stories may tell. But she refused to join in on their Christmas cheers.
Sunset Shimmer, a middle-aged adult who would work her days in a diner to make ends meet, dealing with the customers to only come back home to her rundown apartment that reeked of cigar and mold. This was the life the woman endured; as she entered, greeted by the empty cold room.
“I’m home…” she spoke out, though no answer were given, “not like it matters though.” Walking into the empty room with no joy or happiness. She headed to the couch where she laid to rest in hope of getting some sleep before work again tomorrow on Christmas day.
As she closed her eyes and rest, unaware that a certain something had their yellow eyes with red pupils staring at them with a devious cackle.
Sunset was stirred awake when feeling snow droplet land on her face, she opened her eyes questioning if she had possibly left her window open or maybe she was outside again waking in the snow. The flurry of white danced on down, and when she looked to the sky only to find her ceiling was there… Creating snow?
“What the? How is-“ her question was cut to an end by the sudden cheer from behind.
“OH WHAT FUN!” Sunset shrieked as she flung from the couch into a pile of snow on her living room floor. When she looked to where the voice came from, only to see a creature that was unusual. It had mixed antlers, a long snake-like body with a pair of different parts for limbs. “I got to say, this ‘Christmas’ of yours is truly something unique! I mean, it’s no Hearth warming… But who cares!”
Sunset stumbled in confusion at this creature. Rubbing her eyes to make sure she was actually seeing what her eyes laid witness on. “Wh-who, or what are you?” she was lost on what to take of this.
The creature laughed, pressing a ‘lion paw?’ to his chest. “Oh, silly me. I guess I should introduce myself, I mean you’re not Sun-butt’s little prodigy so I guess you wouldn’t know of me. I’m Discord! Lord of Chaos and Disharmony.” He spoke with pride, this… Discord?
“Discord?” Sunset asked with skepticism, though she wondered what this ‘Sun-butt’ is referencing too either. “Alright, so… I’m dreaming of some talking…mythical…THING! Wow. What was in that soup I ate?”
Discord looked amused as she mumbled in confusion, reaching for a paw of snow and crunching it together to make a pony with wing shape snowball? He admired the design, almost as if it had some meaningful look to him. “Alright, how do I wake up from this dream?” Sunset asked, slapping her hands to her face.
“Wait, you think… that this is…” He pointed in amusement as he tries to speak between laughter, “This isn’t a dream dear. I am very much real.”
He reached behind Sunset’s ear to pull out some weird book, wherever that thing came from as he started to read it upside down. He pulled out a pair of shader glasses as he placed them over his eyes before starting to look through the page as if confirming something. “Ah ha! Here it is… How to make somepony realize they are not in a dream.”
Looking from the book to Sunset in silence before closing the book and slapping it against her head. She cried in pain as she rubbed where the book hit her, “There, you see. If this was a dream, you wouldn’t had felt that… Or maybe this is my dream, and you only felt that cause I thought of it?” He took the book in his hand and gave a harder slam to his own face, knocking him down as a white rabbit and a yellow pegasus pranced around his head. When snapping out, he reached to grab the white rabbit by the scuff, “How did you get here?” he sounded disappointed before tossing the rabbit away.
“I believe we are getting off track here, Sunset. I came here for a purpose, and I’m afraid I can’t leave without doing what I was asked to do.”
Sunset looked questionable, wondering how this creature even knew her name, if he wasn’t a dream of her, what was he and what was he doing here… Or rather, how was he here? Every time she thought of one question, two more slapped her in the face as if this ‘Discord’ was mocking her. Rubbing her template, as she felt a headache coming on, “Alright, if this is real… Which I’m saying it’s not. What are you here to do? Tormenting me for not celebrating the holiday?” she asked with disdain.
Discord gave a laugh, amused by her words as he spoke, “Oh my Celestia! No! I don’t do none of that stuff anymore. I was reformed! I came here to offer to grant you a single wish!”
Sunset was left on the fence of what to make of it. “A wish? Why?”
“Simply because the real plot that the author had in mind is on its way some time soon. But that is spoilers for the audience!” Discord said as he looked beyond the pages. A slight annoyance could be heard as he turned his attention back to Sunset. “A single wish, whatever it may be. It could be something as simple like giving you a mansion to ruling the world!”
“There is no catch?” She asked, curious about what he were to gain from it in which Discord gave a solemn promise of being fair and honest in his wish granting. She gave it some thought before taking the chance. If there is a chance that she could have a wish granted, anything at all no matter how ridiculous it may be, she was willing to take it.
“I wish to…”
As Christmas came close again the next year, a girl with crimson golden hair walked through the streets with a bright smile, heading on home from her work as she would wave the people on by. As she made it to her home. It was a moderate home of a single floor light green wall; she opened the door to smell a freshly baked cinnamon-sugar bread. Walking into the kitchen to see her girlfriend. “I’m home.” She spoke out, grabbing the girl’s attention.
As she turned around with a slight sour expression, though beneath the dexterity she was happy to have Sunset home again. “Yeah… Go and sit down.”
Sunset gave a loving smile to the girl that entered her life, though there were some complications. Especially about her crazy story of knowing an another version of herself. She would call her crazy, but after encountering that ‘Discord’ guy, she was not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. For some reason, that felt odd for her to think.
“What’s for dinner, Aria?”

Merry Christmas, I am happy to be able to have a Jinglemas story that didn't have me adding Pinkie Pie!
I have an idea from this story task I was given. I will be trying to have the full idea made some time by January if I can remember to do it.

If this is still here, it means I didn't get around to doing as I said I would do... I apologize if the story isn't formatted looking good. I am feeling sick and I wrote this to explain that I am having a hard December. I will try to get this written looking better but I am dealing with these annoying medical problems.
