SpongeBob SquarePants vs Sunset Shimmer
In the underwater town of Bikini Bottom, there lived an energetic sea sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants. One day, SpongeBob was helping his squirrel friend from the surface, Sandy Cheeks, put the finishing touches on her latest invention, a portal machine to other dimensions. She had hoped to travel to other dimensions and discover new things.
“Is it ready for testing, Sandy?” SpongeBob asked.
“It should be.” Sandy answered. “Brace yourself, little square dude.”
Sandy pushed the button on the remote hoping that the machine would work. Thankfully, it did. They had managed to open a portal to another dimension.
“Yee haw!” Sandy shouted with excitement.
“Good job, Sandy.” SpongeBob said congratulating his friend.
“Thanks, SpongeBob.” Sandy replied. “Should we test it out see where it takes us?” she then asked her underwater friend.
“Yeah.” SpongeBob answered. He then playfully skipped into the portal. Unfortunately, after he did, the machine began to malfunction and the portal closed, leaving SpongeBob stranded on the other side. Worried about her friend’s safety, Sandy pressed the button multiple times hoping that it would open the portal again, but nothing happened.
“Holy guacamole!” Sandy shouted. “I gotta get this thing fixed right away! I hope SpongeBob’s okay wherever he is.”
SpongeBob found himself in a strange new world and he was on dry land.
“Oh no.” SpongeBob said as he started to dehydrate. He then reached into his pocket and grabbed some moisture sealer he got from his other dimensional friend, Jimmy Neutron, and sprayed himself with it. He then returned to his normal, hydrated, form.
“Thank you, Jimmy Neutron.” SpongeBob said to himself. He began to look around and noticed that he was in a city. He walked along the sidewalk and saw a big building that looked like a school. He then noticed a teenage girl passing out flyers. She had light pink hair and was wearing a white shirt, a green skirt with three butterflies on the side, and green boots. SpongeBob decided to walk up to her and introduce himself.
“Hello, there.” SpongeBob said to the girl.
The girl was shocked and dropped her flyers. She had never seen a creature like SpongeBob before.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” SpongeBob said picking up the flyers and handing them back to the girl.
“That’s okay, I get startled quite often.” the girl replied.
“My name is SpongeBob SquarePants.” SpongeBob said introducing himself.
“I’m… uhh… Fluttershy.” the girl said very quietly. Almost too quietly to hear.
“I’m sorry, what was your name again?” SpongeBob asked.
“It’s… Fluttershy.” she said again quietly.
“Fluttershy?” SpongeBob asked.
Fluttershy nodded her head in response.
“Nice to meet you, Fluttershy.” SpongeBob said taking his hand out to shake. Fluttershy then took SpongeBob’s hand and shook it.
“I hope you don’t mind me asking, but where are you from?” Fluttershy asked SpongeBob.
“I’m from a town called Bikini Bottom.” SpongeBob answered.
“Oh my.” Fluttershy said in shock. “I’m sorry, but I never expected a town to be named that.”
“It’s okay.” SpongeBob replied. “I actually never thought about it myself, but now that you bring it up, it is an unusual name for a town.”
“Where is it?” Fluttershy asked.
“Well, it’s actually in another dimension.” SpongeBob answered. “I was helping my friend, Sandy with her latest invention that allows us to travel to other dimensions.”
“You’re from another dimension?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yes, yes I am.” SpongeBob answered.
“That’s amazing.” Fluttershy said with a little bit of excitement.
“What are these flyers for?” SpongeBob asked.
“They’re for Canterlot’s animal shelter. It always needs more volunteers.” Fluttershy answered.
“Why do you even bother with that?” A voice had asked.
SpongeBob turned around to see where that voice was coming from. He saw a teenage girl with red and yellow hair and wearing a leather jacket. It was Sunset Shimmer, the notorious bully of Canterlot High.
“Who is that?” SpongeBob asked.
“That’s Sunset Shimmer, she practically rules this school with an iron fist.” Fluttershy answered.
Sunset walked up to the two of them in an intimidating manner. Fluttershy started to shiver in fear in Sunset’s presence. Sunset looked at SpongeBob perplexed.
“Who are you, and what are you?” Sunset asked.
“I’m SpongeBob SquarePants, I’m a sea sponge from under the sea.” SpongeBob answered.
“Is that why you look like a rejected character from The Little Mermaid?” Sunset asked jokingly and laughed.
“Well that’s not very nice.” SpongeBob said defensively.
Everyone in the surrounding area, including Fluttershy gasped. Nobody ever talked back to Sunset Shimmer before.
“What did you say?” Sunset asked angrily.
“I said that’s not very nice.” SpongeBob answered.
Sunset starred at SpongeBob angrily.
“I can speak to anyone any way I want.” Sunset told the sea sponge. “I am the princess of this school.”
“You’re not a princess, you’re a bully and a liar.” SpongeBob said which caused everyone to gasp again.
“SpongeBob, I don’t think it’s a good idea to talk to Sunset like that.” Fluttershy whispered to SpongeBob.
“Well, you shouldn’t let her talk to all of you like that.” SpongeBob replied.
“Please, like I’d care about what someone who looks like Swiss cheese has to say.” Sunset said.
“Swiss cheese? Well at least I don’t have hair that looks like bacon.” SpongeBob replied.
“Well at least I have hair period.” Sunset retorted.
“Do you think that I’m bothered by not having hair?” SpongeBob asked.
Sunset then slapped SpongeBob across the face which caused Fluttershy to gasp concerned about the sea creature from another dimension.
“Are you okay, SpongeBob?” Fluttershy asked.
“This means war!” SpongeBob said picking himself up.
SpongeBob then pulled out his red karate gloves and helmet and gave Sunset a quick karate chop and knocked Sunset down.
“So that’s how you want it to go down.” Sunset said picking herself up preparing to fight. SpongeBob and Sunset both began to fight, throwing and dodging punches.
“Go, little square dude.” one of students said cheering for SpongeBob.
“You stay out of this!” Sunset yelled at the student.
“And now, spin technique!” SpongeBob said as he began to spin around and lunged himself towards Sunset, but Sunset managed to dodge his attack.
“Oh, tartar sauce.” SpongeBob said.
Sunset then ran towards SpongeBob ready to attack, but SpongeBob jumped the upper half of his body to avoid the attack.
“How did you do that?” Sunset asked.
“Don’t ask questions you aren’t prepared to handle the answer to, because I really don’t know myself.” SpongeBob answered.
“That’s it! You’re going down, you porous freak!” Sunset yelled as she punched SpongeBob so hard that his face sunk into his body. SpongeBob however popped his face back out and delivered a karate kick to Sunset. As the two of them continued to fight, the crowd started to cheer SpongeBob’s name.
“SpongeBob! SpongeBob! SpongeBob!” everyone shouted.
“All of you be quiet!” Sunset demanded. But nobody listened as they continued to cheer SpongeBob on. That just made Sunset angrier.
“Hey, Sunset.” SpongeBob said as Sunset turned her attention back to him. “Did you ever hear the one about the girl and the bush?”
“Are you seriously trying to tell a joke now?” Sunset asked.
“It’s a good one.” SpongeBob answered as he then stretched his arm out and it ricocheted off the wall and the horse statue in front of the school to come to Sunset. “Oh, wait, I forgot the punchline.” he exclaimed as his hand stopped before it could reach Sunset. “Oh yeah.” he continued as his fist hit the ground sending Sunset into a bush.
“I told you it was a good one.” SpongeBob said.
The crowd then picked SpongeBob up and cheered for him.
“Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!” everyone shouted.
“That was incredible, SpongeBob.” Fluttershy said.
“Thank you, Fluttershy.” SpongeBob replied.
All of a sudden, a portal opened up and Sandy jumped out from the other side of it.
“Sandy!” SpongeBob exclaimed happy to see his friend.
“Are you okay, SpongeBob?” Sandy asked.
“I’m fine, Sandy.” SpongeBob answered. “I had a little trouble with someone, but it was nothing a little kara-tay couldn’t handle.”
“That’s a relief.” Sandy said with relief. “Come on, let’s get you home.” She then jumped back into the portal.
“I better get back home.” SpongeBob said. “It was a pleasure meeting you, Fluttershy. Maybe we’ll meet again someday.” He shook her hand and then jumped into the portal back home.
“So long, SpongeBob.” Fluttershy said as she waved goodbye and the portal closed. She then walked over to Sunset who was still in the bush.
“What do you want?” Sunset asked.
“I just wanted to make sure you weren’t hurt.” Fluttershy answered.
“What do you care? You never seemed concerned about my well being before.” Sunset said as she walked away.
Fluttershy signed. She was hoping that Sunset had some good in her, maybe she would find someday.

This was just a crazy idea I’ve had for quite some time. What if SpongeBob fought Sunset Shimmer? Back when she was still evil that is. This is somewhat inspired by the season one episode of SpongeBob, Karate Choppers.
