//-------------------------------------------------------// Royal Sentai Knightranger meets MLP -by TheMaster1200- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 1: the Knightrangers //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 1: the Knightrangers The crimson sun of Romuanus bled across the sky, painting the ravaged landscape in hues of rust and despair. For generations, this world had been a battleground, a stage for the unending conflict between the forces of light and the encroaching darkness of Lord Seth and his Doom Raiders. The once-proud cities were now skeletal remains, monuments to a war that had consumed everything. At the heart of the resistance stood the Royal Sentai Knightranger, five kings bound together by a shared oath and a desperate hope. Leading them was the Ignias King, the Gold Knight. His armor, burnished to a radiant sheen, was a beacon of courage. He was honest, kind, and his strategic mind was as sharp as the sword he wielded. Beside him stood the Terra King, known simply as Scythe. A mountain of a being, he moved with a quiet strength, his massive, scythe-like weapon a testament to his raw power. He rarely spoke, letting his actions speak for him. The Aqua King, Red, was the tactical genius of the group. His crimson armor and visor were always polished, reflecting his sharp, analytical gaze. He was the tech expert, able to manipulate the most complex systems and anticipate the enemy's next move. Then there was the Thunder King, Masher. A boisterous, larger-than-life figure, he wielded a mace and chain, with a unlimited chain that could clear skies, his laughter a defiant sound amidst the chaos. And finally, there was the Glacies King, Tara Fin. Born of the sea, he was a half-shark, half-human hybrid with a keen hunter's instinct. His tracking skills were second to none, and his quiet intensity a perfect counterpoint to Masher's exuberance. And wielded a hammer that can freeze the area in a 20 meter radius They had fought countless battles, faced down countless monstrous creations, each one more terrifying than the last. The Doom Raiders were a nightmare made manifest; grotesque amalgams of animals and robots, stitched together and fueled by Seth's dark ambition. Seth, the Gold Knight’s own brother, had become a twisted reflection of everything the kings held dear, his thirst for power insatiable, his desire to rule all worlds and enforce his order, paramount. For years, the Knightranger had held their own, protecting the remnants of their people, but the war had taken its toll. Romuanus was dying, its very essence ravaged by the constant conflict. They had pushed Lord Seth back time and time again, but they were losing ground, they could feel the darkness press down on every side, the threat of defeat looming over them. They had to do something, something drastic. “We cannot win here,” Red had declared, his voice tight with grim acceptance. “Seth’s influence has become too strong, the world is tainted by it. We need to find a new battleground, a place where his power holds no sway.” The decision had been a desperate one. Leaving their people was a betrayal of their oath, but staying meant certain annihilation. The Aqua King managed to locate a dimension rift, a temporary tear in space-time, leading to a new world -- one they knew nothing about. With their world practically destroyed, they had no other choice. They had poured their remaining resources and energy into a final, daring plan to escape. The ship shuddered as it pushed through the dimensional rift, the very fabric of reality twisting and distorting. They held their breath, unsure if they could survive the trip - not to mention the consequences when they arrived on the other side. When they finally landed, they tumbled into a forest, the green foliage clashing against their battered armor. The world that spread before them was a spectacle unlike anything seen on Romuanus. Towering trees stretched towards a gentle blue sky, while vibrant flowers bloomed at their feet. There was a peaceful hum to the air, a stark contrast to the war-torn landscape they had left behind. "Where are we?" Gold Knight asked, his voice tight with apprehension. The unfamiliar atmosphere was both a relief and a source of concern. "The sensors are reading high levels of magic, a completely different energy signature, I've never seen anything like it," Red replied, his fingers flying over the console of his modified gauntlet. "It appears to be called Equestria." Before they could speculate further, they heard a rustling in the trees. Emerging from the forest were six figures, unlike any they had ever seen. They were small, equine creatures with brightly colored coats and flowing manes, they were the ponies. In front of them stood a tall, purple pony with an alicorn horn on her head. "Who are you?" The purple pony asked, her voice clear and curious. "And what are you doing here, in the Everfree forest?" The Gold Knight stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "We are the Royal Sentai Knightranger," he declared, his voice ringing with regal authority. "We have come from a world far away, seeking refuge from a great evil." The ponies exchanged glances, a mixture of confusion and concern on their faces. The purple pony, whom Red's scanners identified as Twilight Sparkle, stepped forward. "I am Twilight Sparkle," she said. "And you are welcome here, in Equestria. But what evil are you running from?" The kings looked at each other, they knew they couldn’t afford to hide the truth from their new found allies. This world seemed peaceful now, but they needed to know the gravity of the situation they were in before they decided to stay. Gold Knight explained their story, the devastation of Romuanus, the tyranny of Seth. As he spoke, Scythe’s hand clenched around his weapon, Masher's laughter was nowhere to be heard, Tara Fin’s eyes grew sharper and Red’s movements became more precise with the tale of Lord Seth and the Doom Raiders. Twilight and her friends listened in stunned silence. The notion of such a brutal war was foreign to them, a dark cloud over their peaceful world. "We must be careful," Twilight said. "This Lord Seth sounds like a great threat. If he were to follow you here..." "We won't let that happen." Gold Knight declared, his voice filled with resolve. "We may be strangers here, but we will do everything in our power to protect this world, just like we tried to protect our own.” "We will stand with you," Twilight vowed her friends all nodded in agreement. "We may not be warriors, but we are strong in our own way, we'll protect Equestria together." The kings looked at each other, a glint of hope now sparked in their eyes, they wouldn’t face this alone. For the first time in a long time, they felt something akin to hope. Romuanus was lost for now, but perhaps in this new world, with new allies, they could finally find a way to fight back against the darkness and find peace. They couldn't let Lord Seth reach this world, there was now a new world to protect, new allies to fight by their side. The battle was far from over, it had simply moved to a new stage and the Royal Sentai Knightranger was ready to face it, together. //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 2: the first monster //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 2: the first monster The sun of Equestria cast a warm glow on the quaint town of Ponyville, a stark contrast to the battle-worn lands the Knightrangers had left behind. Today, they stood not as armored warriors, but as the kings they were, their royal attire shimmering in the morning light. Gold Knight, or simply "Gold" as he preferred to be called out of his armor, adjusted the fine embroidery of his tunic, his gaze taking in the colorful buildings and the friendly smiles of the ponies. Twilight Sparkle, her amethyst eyes shining with curiosity and hospitality, led the tour. "And over there is Sugarcube Corner, home to the best cupcakes in Equestria," she announced, gesturing with a hoof. The other Knightrangers, Scythe, Red, Masher, and Tara Fin, followed, their expressions ranging from Scythe's stoic observation to Masher's playful grin. Tara Fin, his shark-like teeth peeking from behind a polite smile, seemed most fascinated by the various plants and wildlife. As they strolled, Gold felt a need to share a piece of his history, a burden he carried. He turned to Twilight, "Twilight, there's something I wanted to tell you about. A collection of trinkets, we call the "Armor Collection". It wasn't always trinkets, once it was one piece of armor." Twilight tilted her head, her ears perked with interest. "It belonged to a dark god, one known only as… 'The Darkness'," Gold continued, his voice taking on a somber tone. "Before any of us were born, it was said that The Darkness plagued our world into darkness, but his was shattered into the armor pieces we know today by his brothers, the ancient gods of our elements, and became separated, each piece placed in a temple between all five kingdoms. But, my brother… he was under the influence of The Darkness, and he stole them all." Gold said as he showed his armor piece, itnwas a onight statue with flames on its shoulder and helmet A gasp escaped Twilight, "Your brother, did he steal all of the armor pieces?" Before Gold could answer, the peaceful atmosphere of Ponyville was shattered by a piercing scream. The group turned to see a monstrous figure emerging from the woods, a hulking beast with a scorpion's tail for a left arm and a menacing pincer gauntlet on its right. The creature's body was a grotesque union of flesh and hardened plant matter. It was Kon Kozue. "Drats they found us!," Masher muttered, his jovial tone replaced with seriousness. Gold didn't waste another second. "Knightrangers, prepare to morph!" The team echoed his words, their royal clothes vanishing as their pieces of armor materialized around them, the ancient pieces resonating with power. Gold's golden armor gleamed, Scythe's dark armor emanated a brooding strength, Red's armor bore intricate tech patterns, Masher's armor was bulky yet agile, and Tara Fin's armor shone a deep blue hue. "Strength strong as the mountains, Terra King, Scythe!" Scythe yelled as he posed "Knowledge flewent as the sea, Aqua King, Red!" Red yelled as he posed "Speed fast as lightning, Thunder King, Masher!" Masher yelled as he posed "Skills cold as ice, Glacies King, Tara fin!" Tara fin yelled as he posed "Courage hot as flames, Ignias King, Gold Knight!" Gold yelled as he posed as spoke once more "and together we are" Gold and the other spoke in unison and posed "Royal Sentai Knightranger!" The Knightrangers charged towards Kon Kozue, who hissed and swung its pincer. "You will not stop Lord Seth, GET THEM!" The monster roared, its voice a gravelly echo. as he summoned cyber knights "Well see about that!" Red sais, as he fought the cyber knights, cutting them down with his battle axe Kon Kozue slammed its tail into the ground, sending plants spiraling from the earth, and then with its pincer, summoned bolts of energy, striking a few buildings, but luckily the citizens were safe. Twilight and her friends, now joined by Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Rarity, stood back, ready to assist. Gold deflected a thorny vine with his katana, his movements a blur of practiced grace. "Scythe, deal with the plant matter! Red, find out what the monster is made of. Masher, and Tara, protect the ponies, that thing is too dangerous to be running free, make sure the buildings stay standing!" As Scythe cut through the plants, his scythe a whirlwind of destruction, Red observed Kon Kozue with his tech enhanced vision. "There's some kind of safe on its back!" Red yelled, "and it's emitting a strange energy signature! I think it's one armor pieces, Gold!" "Good eye Red!" Gold exclaimed, "I need to get to that safe!" But Kon Kozue had other plans. He slammed his tail into the ground again, summoning a horde of Cyber Knights, their metallic bodies glinting under the sun, and directed them towards the kings. The Knightrangers found themselves embroiled in a chaotic battle. Scythe and Masher battled cyber knights, while Tara Fin, with a speed that defied his size, was keeping the ponies safe. Gold, with his katana flashing, managed to fend off Kon Kozue, but the monster retreated, letting the Cyber Knights swarm. After dealing with cyber knights, the kings regrouped, their armor bearing the marks of battle. "That safe, it's not going to be easy to get to," Gold said, his voice tight with determination. "I've got an idea!" Red announced, "I can use my tech to create a device, a decoder of some sort. We can use these to hack in any safe any monsters are carrying around!” Red held out five small devices, each with a distinct shape. “One for each of us! We’ll use them next time we see this thing!” The Knightrangers accepted their decoders, a sense of renewed hope filling them. The next day, the peace of Ponyville was again disturbed. Kon Kozue reappeared, drawn by the fear he was causing the ponies, plants warped and twisted, and the cyber knights were back with him. "Alright team, you know what to do!" Gold yelled as they morphed, their armor shining bright. The Knightrangers charged into action once more. Masher and Tara Fin worked in tandem, Masher using his demolitions skills to create distractions while Tara Fin used his tracking abilities to restrain Kon Kozue’s tail, holding him still. Red, his eyes narrowed in focus, rolled behind the restrained monster and attached his decoder to the safe. The device whirred and beeped as it worked to crack the code; "9-6-0!" The device yelled, Red opened the safe, and Red grabbed the armor piece, it was a small knight statue withbvines on it, it was the plant armor, “I’ve got it!” Red yelled With the armor piece in hand, the Knightrangers unleashed their full force upon Kon Kozue. A final, devastating combination of blows sent the monster reeling, "this scorpions been squashed!!!" an explosion rocked the area and Kon Kozue burst into pieces. But before they could celebrate, the scattered remains of Kon Kozue began to reform, growing in size. “You think that was enough to defeat me?” A booming voice echoed through the town, Kon Kozue, now a giant, towered over them, his eyes burning with anger. Masher whistled, "Well, that escalated quickly." Gold, with a grim nod, spoke, "It's time. Knightrangers, call upon the Element King-Oh!" The ground vibrated as a massive, four-legged structure rose from the ground. This was no ordinary mech, it was a powerful machine combining all four kingdom's specialities, made for fighting giant monsters like this one. With a beam of light, the Knightrangers were transported into the cockpit of the giant mech. “Element King-Oh! Activate!” Gold yelled as the mech roared to life. The challenge had only just begun. Ponyville was still in danger, and the Knightrangers, now piloting their mighty mech, stood ready to face whatever Kon Kozue, and the Darkness, threw their way. "Come on!" Kon yelled as he slapped element king-oh with his tail arm making it stumble, tho Element King-Oh stood irs ground and charged forth, slashing Kon Kozue with its claymore and bashed him with its shield, Kon Kozue stumbled back but spat venom on the shield making it melt, Element King-Oh tossed the shield away and ran and dropkicked Kon Kozue, as its sword glowed bright "time to finish this!" Gold said, him and his team made Element King-Oh jump kn the air and raise it's sword, Kon saw this and stumbled back a bit in fear "c-cant we talk about thie?!" Kin said, the five kings yelled out in unison "royal elemental strike!" They yelled in unison as Element King-Oh flew down slashing Kon Kozue and slid to a halt behind him, dark energy poured out of Kon Kozue "Lord Seth, my master, FORGIVE ME!!!" He blew up behind Element King-Oh as they mech posed, soon Gold and his team were beamed out the mech and were infront of twilight and her friends as they were amazed, "ya know what, I'm famished, how about we go get something to eat?" Masher suggested and they went to sugarcube corner to have a small feast //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 3: the arrival of Lord Seth... //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 3: the arrival of Lord Seth... The air in Twilight’s library was thick with the scent of old parchment and the quiet rustle of turning pages. Gold Knight, his golden armor gleaming softly under the lamplight, leaned back in his chair, a history of Equestria open before him. Around the large table, his fellow kings were similarly engrossed. Scythe, ever the stoic, flipped through a bestiary with an occasional grunt; Red, his fingers flying across a complex diagram, muttered about magical energies; Masher, despite his usual boisterous nature, was unusually quiet, studying a map with a focused frown; and Tara Fin, a more calming presence than his brother, was tracing glyphs with a thoughtful expression. Their recent victory against Kon Kozue had granted them a much-needed respite, but the quiet hum of knowledge-gathering had become the new norm. They were here to learn, to understand the land they had sworn to protect. Suddenly, the silence was broken by a swirling tendril of bright pink fire, materializing on the table. It coalesced into a letter, the parchment bearing the elegant crest of Princess Celestia and Luna. Gold Knight reached out, his gauntlet clinking softly as he carefully unfurled the missive. The letter, written in elegant script and imbued with a warmth he recognized as Smiles’ magic, invited them to a meeting in the Canterlot Castle. "It seems our presence is required," Gold Knight announced, his voice firm and calm. His team nodded, their own curiosity piqued, and before long, they were stepping through a portal created by Twilight’s magic, finding themselves in the sun-drenched courtyard of the Canterlot Castle. They were ushered into one of the grand halls, where Celestia and Luna awaited them, their regal presence radiating warmth and wisdom. The meeting was productive, the princesses eager to share their knowledge and learn from these new arrivals. They spoke of ancient threats, hidden histories, and the importance of unity. Unbeknownst to them, however, a creature of nightmare was perched high above, clinging to a shadowed alcove. Its scaled, serpentine body was coiled around a stone gargoyle, leathery bat wings folded tight against its sides. A single, unblinking camera lens replaced its head, recording every detail of the meeting below. This mechanical spy, a grotesque hybrid of flesh and machine, transmitted its findings to a colossal warship hanging silently in the depths of space above Equestria. Inside the warship, Lord Seth sat in his command chair, his metallic frame larger than any of the robots that served him. His right claw, a cruel, crab-like appendage, tapped impatiently against the armrest. The fusion cannon on his left forearm glowed with contained energy, and his spiked shoulder guards added to his menacing silhouette. On the view screen, the recording from the spy played, showing his hated brother Gold Knight and his allies speaking with the two princesses, a fiery hate in his spark, remembering how he was left behind, to suffer, now it was his turn. His cold, calculating gaze swept over his holographic maps, the plans he had meticulously crafted finally coming to fruition. He would not only take but show his brother just how far he had fallen, as he was nothing more than a pretender and his time would be short. "Prepare for planetary descent," he ordered, his voice a grating rumble that echoed through the warship. "It's time to introduce ourselves to these… primitives." The warship descended towards Equestria, a silent leviathan blotting out the stars. It was a sight that would have sent shivers down the spines of even the most courageous hearts if they had seen it. But below, in the Canterlot Castle, the meeting continued, oblivious to the impending storm. Later that day, the sun began to set, casting long shadows over Canterlot. A tremor, barely perceptible, rippled through the ground, and the air itself seemed to crackle with a strange energy. Then, a colossal warship descended, landing with a deafening thud that shook the very foundations of the castle. From its hull, a ramp lowered, revealing Lord Seth and his generals, each a terrifying embodiment of power and malice. General Kouumoto, a monstrous stag beetle with multi-jointed arms, led the way, his segmented legs scrabbling against the stone. Behind him, Knight Reaper, a living shadow in dark armor, glided effortlessly, his scimitar gleaming in the twilight. The undead Samurai, Sanda Tameyoshi, followed, his skeletal form unnervingly calm, a katana in each hand. Finally, Lord Seth stepped out, his presence radiating power. Death Lock, the warship’s lead scientist, skulked behind, his mechanical dreadlocks twitching. Uncaring of the world around them, they made their way to the castle, their presence stopping the guards from engaging, as they found themselves frozen in place, watching as the Doom Raiders walked right through their formation. With a burst of raw power, Lord Seth blasted open the doors to the throne room, the sound echoing like a thunderclap. Inside, Gold Knight and his team stood ready, their weapons already drawn, the princesses standing behind them with shocked faces. The air was charged with tension, the silence broken only by the hissing of plasma and the scraping of metal against stone. "Brother," Lord Seth growled, his voice laced with venom. "It seems our paths have crossed again." Gold Knight’s face was grim, his jaw tight. He had known this day would come. "Seth," he replied, his voice hard, but firm. "You will not harm this land." The battle erupted. Elite guard robots, their bodies gleaming with dark energy, followed their masters, firing plasma cannons, as the kings engaged them in a furious ballet of martial prowess. Scythe's scythe carved through the air, leaving trails of dark energy as he swept aside the robots, their metallic bodies crumpling into twisted heaps. Red’s battle axe thundered, shattering the robots into pieces, while Masher's mace cracked with destructive force, shattering the robots that dared come close, each blow more devastating than the last. Tara Fin’s hammer, despite its size, danced with uncanny speed and precision, shattering metal and sending robotic pieces flying in every direction, while Gold Knight, his katana a blur of gold, deflected laser fire and sliced through robots with ease, each swing precise and deadly, but soon they saw that the generals were giving trouble, Knight Reaper moving too fast to engage, and when they did, they seemed to pass right through him, Sanda Tameyoshi's undead body seemed to just keep going, always back in the action, while Kouumoto's sheer size, and ability to split his arms into four, made it hard to engage. Lord Seth watched the battle, his claw tightening in frustration. He had expected more of a challenge. He was about to end the battle himself when his sensors tingled, detecting three distinct points of power nearby, three sources he had sensed before, before he was betrayed. He sensed a familiar magic that was used to imprison them. "Enough of this," Lord Seth roared, the force of his voice shaking the room, making a small crater on the floor. He raised his claw and energy pulsed from him, forcing everyone away from each other, both sides. "My forces, retreat! We have more pressing matters to attend to.” His generals and robots retreated, the elite guard forming a protective wall around their leader. With a final glare at Gold Knight, Lord Seth teleported away, his image flickering and fading. The kings stood there, weapons ready, but the battle was over, they had not won, it seemed as if a new threat had just arrived, and they had no idea what that threat was going to be. Lord Seth then entered a secret chamber, finding three familiar statues, Queen Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow, each frozen in a block of stone. He touched the Chrysalis statue and it absorbed his energy, and then Lord Seth teleported the three statues to his command center on his ship. With a burst of energy, Lord Seth cracked the stone, freeing the three villains. They were disoriented, their eyes narrowed and angry, their magic still weakened from their imprisonment. “Who are you?!” Tirek shouted, his voice thick with rage. “I am Lord Seth,” he replied, offering them a cold and calculating smile. "And I offer you power, a chance for revenge against those who imprisoned you." The three villains stood there, each considering it in their own way. Cozy Glow just looked at him as if he was nothing more than a bug, while Chrysalis was watching, thinking on what she could use him for, and then Tirek let out a loud laugh. "And why should we serve you?!” he asked, his eyes narrowed with suspicion. With lightning speed, Lord Seth backhanded Tirek, sending him flying across the room, crashing through several metallic boxes. Tirek lay there, stunned, as he tried to get up, his eyes wide with fear, showing just how powerful Lord Seth was. “Do not test my patience,” Lord Seth growled, his metallic voice echoing through the room. “You will serve, or you will be removed. It is that simple.” The three villains looked at each other, their pride still screaming at them to fight, but they knew they were beaten, and they knew they needed to bend to his will, for now. And with that threat, Lord Seth had gained three new pawns to his army, three pawns he was going to use to get what he has long desired. //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 4: a dreadful hunt //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 4: a dreadful hunt The grand hall of Celestia and Luna’s castle, still bearing the scars of recent battles, buzzed with a tense energy. Sunlight streamed through the partially repaired walls, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. Around a large, ornate table sat the five kings – Gold Knight, the Ignias King; Scythe, the stoic Terra King; Red, the ever-calculating Aqua King; Masher, the boisterous Thunder King; and Tara Fin, the enigmatic Glacies King. Their faces, usually bright with camaraderie, were now etched with concern. A few days ago, they'd received a magically-delivered letter, a flickering missive carried on the wings of Smile's enchanted fire. It requested their presence at the castle, and now they were here, listening intently to Princess Twilight Sparkle. "The statue… it's gone," Twilight said, her voice tight with worry. "The one that held Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow – it vanished last night." A ripple of unease passed among the kings. "Who are Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow?" Gold Knight asked, his hand resting on the hilt of his katana. Twilight explained, her voice growing more somber as she recounted the history of the villains and their destructive capabilities. As she spoke, fear crept into the eyes of the ponies present. These were not just villains; they were cataclysms waiting to happen. Gold’s eyes narrowed. "Lord Seth," he growled, the name a rumble in his chest. "He must be behind this. He would take any opportunity to increase his power." A cold dread settled over the room. Lord Seth, the malevolent entity who had plagued them before, was far more dangerous with these new pawns. Unbeknownst to them, a bat-like creature with a serpentine body, membranous wings, and a camera for a head, perched on a distant rafter, its lens recording their every word. It relayed the information to its master: Lord Seth. Far above Equestria, a massive warship, a metal leviathan cutting through the black expanse of space, loomed. Inside, Lord Seth sat in his command chair, his crab-like claw tapping impatiently on the armrest. The images from his spy flitted across a holographic display, the faces of the kings, the ponies, all a tapestry of fear for him to relish. "They are predictable," he rasped, his voice a metallic growl. “They believe they can rebuild and that will be enough. They will soon learn that order comes from chaos.” His eyes flickered to his generals. "Kouumoto!" The stagbeetle monster, his body a mess of chitinous plates, stepped forward. “Yes, Lord Seth?” “Choose a monster," Lord Seth commanded, his voice a low, dangerous purr. "A suitable distraction. Something… imaginative.” Kouumoto considered this, his four eyes blinking in rapid succession. Then he pointed a clawed finger at a screen displaying a multitude of captured creatures. "I believe Konda Sojuro will be most fitting. He has a knack for the… theatrical." Lord Seth chuckled, a chilling sound. "Excellent. Unleash him. Let the games begin." On Equestria, the tranquility of Canterlot was shattered. In a blink, the buildings shifted and twisted. Walls grew taller and longer, new pathways suddenly appearing, turning the elegant city into a bewildering labyrinth. The castle of Celestia and Luna was no exception, its familiar corridors becoming a maddening maze. Panic erupted in the streets as citizens found themselves lost and trapped. Back in the throne room, the Kings, Twilight, and her friends were disoriented. The familiar space had morphed into a confusing tangle of hallways and dead ends. Red was the first to react, his blue eyes scanning their surroundings. "This isn't natural," he said, his voice calm despite the chaos. "It must be the work of Lord Seth." “I’ll bet it’s a monster.” Masher added as he cracked his knuckles. “Any chance to hit something I’ll take it!” "We need to find the cause of this," Gold said, his voice ringing, a beacon in the disarray. "And stop it before more damage is done.” They ventured into the maze, their weapons at the ready. Gold's katana glinted in the dim light of the twisted corridors, Scythe's scythe scraped against the stone floor, Red's battle axe was held firmly in his grip, Masher's mace and chain rattled ominously, and Tara Fin kept a keen eye on every shadow, his hammer ready to strike. After many twists and turns, they stumbled into a large, bizarre chamber. Standing in the center was Konda Sojuro, a grotesque figure made of mismatched game boards, his flag pole scythe in his hand. The safe on his left bicep gleamed ominously. "Welcome, players!" Konda Sojuro boomed, his voice laced with false cheer. "You are now trapped in my labyrinth! Only by defeating me can you ever leave." "We're not here to play games, you overgrown board game!" Masher roared, swinging his mace and chain and slamming it into one of the many walls. Konda Sojuro laughed, a dry, rattling sound. "Oh, but you must play! The rules are simple: survive my labyrinth and take my armor piece, which lies locked in this safe!" The battle began. The Kings, Twilight, and her friends fought with a combination of brute strength and tactical prowess. Gold’s katana was a blur of speed, cutting through Konda Sojuro's board-like limbs, but the monster reformed with every blow. Scythe’s massive blows shattered the ground, leaving craters in his wake. Red utilized his knowledge of the maze patterns, guiding the others to create tactical advantages with his battle axe. Tara Fin tracked where Konda Sojuro would be likely to appear next, providing warnings to his allies, before smashing his attacks with his hammer. Masher swung his mace with reckless abandon, striking the monster repeatedly. Masher had an idea. "Red, can your tech get through that safe?" Red narrowed his blue eyes, scanning the safe with a device on his glove. "Possibly, but it will take too long. I have a better and faster idea." Masher grinned then used his amazing speed to run around Konda, and used his decoder putting it on the safe as the decoder hacked it and unlocked it, "2-7-1" the decoder said as the door on the safe opened as masher grabbed the armor piece. The other kings were now ready as Masher had the armor piece, the Kings together with twilight friends all took the offensive. Konda Sojuro, enraged, was quickly destroyed. "My games finished!!!" Konda yelled as be blew up and the labyrinth began to shift as the kings took out their respective elements and the rest of Twilight's group to the outside. "He is growing giant!" Tara Fin shouted as everyone looked and saw Konda Sojuro growing to a massive size. Together they summoned Element King-Oh, the giant robot that represented all their powers. "Come on!" Konda Sojuro yelled as he ran at the robot swinging his weapon. Element King-Oh took on the monstrous Konda Sojuro, slashing him as it kicked him, there was was no match for the combined might of the Kings in their giant mecha, the blade glowed as masher was leading this final attack "Let's do this!" Masher yelled as him and his team made the mecha raise it's sword high as it was powered with lightning. And slashed downward makjng a slashbeam of lightning sending it to Konda, the final blow came, and Konda Sojuro tried to block it but his weapon was destroyed and was stuck with the attack "games over!!!" He yelled as he blew up. The city and the castle reverted to their normal forms, the citizens of Equestria released from their game-induced imprisonment. The battle was won, but the kings knew this was just one small victory in a much bigger war. Lord Seth was still out there, and his next move would be their biggest yet. //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 5 A Nightmareish Event pt 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 5 A Nightmareish Event pt 1 The swirling amethyst of the dream realm pulsed around Spike, who was giggling as he chased a small, emerald green lizard through fields of cotton candy. This lizard, who introduced himself as “Konno,” was unlike any creature Spike had ever encountered. Konno was friendly, always offering words of encouragement and making even mundane activities feel like thrilling adventures. He was like a perfect, imaginary friend. Unbeknownst to Spike, Konno was anything but. In the waking world, Konno Sora, a nightmare demon, was weaving his insidious magic around the dragon. He was one of Lord Seth’s most dangerous creations, a dream weaver who fed on the hopes and fears of his victims. He was a master at manipulating the intangible threads of the subconscious. Back in the waking world, a worried tension hung heavy in the air. Twilight Sparkle, her horn glowing faintly with concern, paced before the slumbering form of Spike. "He's been asleep for too long," she murmured, her voice tight. "It's not natural, even for a dragon." Gold Knight, the leader of the Knightrangers, stood beside her, his golden armor gleaming softly in the dim light. A frown creased his normally kind face. “It’s Seth’s doing; I can feel it. He always targets the vulnerable.” He clenched his fist, his fingers brushing the hilt of his katana. Seth, his brother in blood but an enemy in spirit, was a constant, looming threat. "We need to go in," Twilight stated, her eyes filled with resolve. “We did it before to save Ponyville from nightmare moon, we can do it now to help Spike, I can use a similar spell but we'll need to be careful" Gold Knight nodded, his gaze hardening. "Then let us gather the Kings.” a short while later the rest of the Ignias team showed up. Scythe, the silent giant of the Terra King stared at Spike, his hand gripping the handle of his massive scythe. Red, the Aqua King, fiddled with the tech built into his battle-axe, his brow furrowed in concentration. Masher, the Thunder King, cracked a joke about sleepwalking, though his usual jovial demeanor was noticeably muted. And Tara Fin, the Glacies King, his shark-like eyes scanning Spike with predatory concern, gripped his hammer tightly. With Twilight's arcane guidance, they stepped into the swirling vortex that would carry them into Spike’s dream. The moment they entered, the vibrant world of cotton candy and giggling shifted. The sky had turned a sickly grey, the once lush fields now barren and cracked. The air was heavy with a sense of despondency. "This isn't good," Red muttered, his tech analysis flashing across his eye piece. "Konno has already taken root. Look at the despair in the atmosphere." They saw Spike, huddled beneath a wilted candy floss tree, tears streaming down his face. Konno, no longer a friendly lizard but a smaller, more sinister version, was whispering to him. The once cheerful dragon was now trembling with fear and defeat. "Spike!" Gold Knight called out to him, rushing forward. "It's us, we're here to help!" Spike turned, his eyes wide and filled with a deep, disturbing sorrow. "It's no use," he whispered. "Konno says...he says all my dreams are worthless." Konno hissed, his form shimmering, shifting with malevolent energy. He grew in size, his small sharp teeth elongating into fangs, his once harmless emerald skin turning a sickly shade of dark green. He was no longer the conscious but a creature of nightmares, a lizard demon with large, cold eyes. “You can’t save him, he’s mine now!” Konno bellowed, his voice echoing with a terrifying distortion. He raised his giant mallet, its head twisted and barbed, and slammed it down onto a nearby dream structure, a towering castle made of books representing Spike’s dream of becoming a great scholar, shattering it instantly into a pile of broken pages and dust. Tara Fin roared, charging forward and swinging his hammer, but Konno simply sidestepped it, his movements unnervingly quick. Scythe followed him, his scythe leaving trails of jagged energy in the air but Konno was too quick for all of them. Masher swung his mace against the ground, sending a shockwave that rippled through the dreamscape, but Konno remained unfazed. He simply laughed, the sound a grating, discordant melody. Red, his ax humming at his side, attempted to use his tech to disrupt the dreamscape. However, Konno seemed to absorb the energy, growing larger and even more grotesque with every attempt. Gold Knight, with his katana drawn, leapt into the fray, his blade dancing with golden light. The fight was a chaotic ballet of power and agility. But the heroes seemed to be fighting a losing battle. The more they attacked, the more corrupted and twisted the dreamworld became. With each destroyed dream, Konno grew stronger, feeding on Spike’s despair. He was not only fighting them, but he was also fighting against the very essence of Spike's inner world. Konno, however, was playing with them. He wasn't only feeding off Spike's sorrow he was using it, he used Spike's largest dream to send the team out of the dream. He had a giant crystal tower, as it represented spike's biggest dream of being a hero. Konno smirked, his teeth glinted in the dim light before he slammed his mallet down onto the tower. A massive surge of distorted energy erupted from the dream, engulfing the Ignias Kings and their allies. It pushed them back, scattering them like leaves in a storm. The world around them dissolved into a disorienting vortex, forcing them out of Spike's dream. They were back in the real world, gasping for breath. The faces of the Ignias team were grim, their bodies littered with minor injuries from the struggle within Spike's mind. "He’s too strong," Red said through strained breath, collapsing into a nearby chair, the tech on his axe short circuiting. "He's feeding off Spike’s despair." “I could feel it. The dream was completely corrupted,” Masher added, his usual smile replaced with a grimace. Gold Knight looked at Spike, still sleeping peacefully, seemingly unaware of the nightmare that was consuming his mind. “We have to find a way to fight back,” he declared, his golden eyes burning with determination. “We can’t let Seth take him - we can’t let Seth destroy the dreams of anyone.” Twilight, shaking off the dizzying effects of the forced ejection, held up her magic staff. "We’ll have to learn more about Konno, about how to overcome his powers, and how to protect Spike. For now, we need a plan, a way to fight this darkness before it’s too late." She knew, with a sinking feeling in her stomach, that this was far from over. The fight for Spike, and for the hope that resided within dreams, had only just begun. //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 6 a Nightmareish event pt 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Ch 6 a Nightmareish event pt 2 The air in the library crackled with unspoken tension. Twilight Sparkle paced, her brow furrowed in concern, while her friends, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Rarity, sat slumped around the large table, their usual vibrant energy dimmed. The silence was heavy, punctuated only by the rhythmic tick of the grandfather clock in the corner and the frantic scribbling of notes by the ever studious Red, their Aqua King, who was hunched over a datapad, a frown etching itself onto his usually composed face. "There has to be something we can do!" Rainbow Dash burst out, slamming a hoof on the table, "Spike’s been trapped in that nightmare for days! It’s like, no matter what we try, we can't get through." The object of their worry, Spike, lay peacefully on a nearby sofa, but his tranquil exterior belied the turmoil raging within his subconscious. In the surreal landscape of his dreams, he found himself a helpless spectator in a world twisted by Konno Sora, the dream demon. Lush fields had morphed into desolate wastelands, soaring castles were now crumbling ruins, and the joyful melodies of his past were replaced by dissonant, fear-inducing screeches. Konno, in his small, seemingly harmless lizard form, perched on Spike's shoulder, whispering insidious doubts and crushing his hopes with a cruel, almost cheerful demeanor. “Remember that dream where you became a knight?” Konno would croon, his voice syrupy sweet. “Pfft, you? A knight? Please. You’re just a little dragon, destined to fetch books and polish trophies.” And with a flick of his metaphorical tail, the vibrant image of Spike triumphantly wielding a sword would shatter into a million shards of dark glass. Back in the waking world, the weight of their helplessness was palpable. Gold Knight, the noble leader of the Ignias Kingdom, stood near the window, his gaze fixed on the distant sky, his hand resting on the hilt of his katana. Scythe, the Terra King, stood beside him, a silent, brooding figure, his scythe held loosely by his side. Masher, the Thunder King, bounced on the balls of his feet, his mace and chain jingling rhythmically, while Tara Fin, the Glacies King, paced, his shark-like eyes scanning the room, a low growl rumbling in his chest. "We've tried everything," Gold Knight spoke, his voice filled with rare frustration. "Telepathy, magic, even Red's… ‘experimental’ dream-diving contraption. Nothing has worked." Just as they were about to fall into a spiral of despair, a soft glow filled the room as a shimmering portal materialized, and Princess Luna stepped gracefully through. Her regal form held an air of serenity, contrasting sharply with the tension that filled the room. “I sensed a disturbance in the dream realm, one that has seeped into the very fabric of our world,” she said, her voice gentle yet firm. "I believe I can help." Despite the urgency, Luna’s regal composure soothed their worries. She explained that while she had never encountered a being like Konno, she was no stranger to the intricacies of dreams. “The mind,” Luna stated, “is the most powerful weapon, and the key to breaking any hold.” With that, she closed her eyes, and a silvery thread of light extended from her horn, reaching out to Spike’s sleeping mind. Deep within his nightmare, Spike felt a warmth, like a gentle hand resting on his brow. And then, Luna’s voice echoed in his mind, clear and strong, “You are not a prisoner, little one. You hold the power, you are in command of your dreams.” The words resonated deep within Spike's soul as a sudden surge of realization washed through him, the fog of despair beginning to lift. He had allowed Konno to dictate his reality, he had given the demon his power. He was not powerless. That’s when a familiar power began to flow within him, the very power he thought he had lost when he had left his homeworld. It was the power to reshape dreams, as he had done when he first discovered his gift. With a surge of new-found confidence, Spike met Konno’s mocking gaze. "You're wrong," Spike declared, his voice echoing with a newfound strength. “You have no power over me!” Fueled by his renewed determination, Spike focused, and the fractured dreamscape around him began to shift once more. Where there had been desolation, vibrant flowers bloomed. Crumbling ruins reformed into shimmering fortresses and the screeches of nightmares dissolved into the sound of cheering friends. He stood tall, and his scales shimmered as he sprouted sharp claws, as his form changed, he felt his power grow. Konno, his cheerful facade cracking, recoiled in shock, his small form trembling as Spike, now formidable and determined, moved to strike. He wasn't fighting his fears anymore. He was fighting for his dreams, and with one final, mighty blow, he banished the demon from his inner world. The impact of that blow sent Konno hurtling, not back to his realm, but straight into the real world, colliding with the library wall in a shower of dust and plaster. The Knightrangers were instantly on guard, their weapons drawn as they watched the small lizard suddenly morph into his demon form, a hulking monstrosity with a menacing mallet. He looked around in confusion, his eyes reflecting the terror of having been pulled into reality. “Cyber knights, attack!” Konno roared, and from the floor, mechanical knights rose, cannon fodder for the battle that was to come. Gold Knight instantly took charge, “Red, Scythe, Masher, Tara! Morph!” In a flash of light, the five kings transformed into their warrior forms, their powers surging. They charged into battle, their weapons a blur. Masher’s mace and chain thrashed, demolishing cyber knights with each strike, Tara Fin’s hammer crushed them like tin cans, Scythe’s scythe reaped through them, and Red’s axe tore through the metal hordes. Gold Knight, his katana shimmering, weaved through the melee like a golden tempest, each slash finding its mark with deadly precision. With the robot knights eliminated, the Knightrangers turned their attention to Konno. He was powerful, but the combined might of the five kingdoms proved too much for him. They kept him in place, each King using only one hand to hold him. That is when they saw Spike. At first he was behind them, then he was suddenly in front of them, holding Red's decoder. He knew what he had to do. He approached Konno's chest and slapped the decoder onto his safe. The device hummed, as it began to hack the lock "9-1-6" the decoder spoke. Once complete, the safe was unlocked. Spike quickly opened the safe put his hand in and removed Konno's armor piece. Konno let out a guttural scream "NO!!!" that was heard throughout the city as he was weakened. The Kings instantly let go of Konno, and with one swift move, a combined attack, they destroyed the demon. Or so they thought. Like the others before him, Konno began to grow, his body swelling in size until he towered over the city in all his monstrous glory. "Time for some BIIIIG nightmares!!!" Konno exclaimed "Element King-Oh!" Gold Knight commanded, and from the sky, their giant robot roared to life. The battle had truly begun. With the battle cry, Element King-Oh charged forward, its sword crashing against Konno's mallet. The city echoed with the sounds of struggle and the metallic screech of clashing titans, as the Knightrangers and their robot were all united to defeat this once small, but now gargantuan monster. "Come on!! That all you got!!" Konno said as he kicked the mech, Element King-Oh stumbled but stood it's ground, charging forth and bashed konno in the face, and leaped over him slashing him in the back, konno stumbled but got right back up, and turned to the mecha, "spike" Golds voice came over the speaker of the mecha, as he looked down, "care to empower Element King-Oh's sword with your green flames?" Gold asked, spike's eyes grew with excitement as he flew up, "Would I ever!" Spike yelled as he took a deep breath and spewed out his green flames, Element King-Oh's sword was covered in spikes fire, asking the kings shouted in unison, "dragon ember slash!!" The kings all shouted as the ran at Konno slashing him as the mecha slid to a halt behind him, Konno's hands shook as he dropped his mallet as it dissappeared as a slash mark appeared on his chest as dark energy came out "i-impossible......I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE NIGHTMARE KING!!!" he shouted as be blew up behind the mech, Gold and his team were beamed out of the mech, as the mecha dissappeared as it did the last few times "another day, another armor piece collected" Gold said as spike gave him Konno's armor piece
