//-------------------------------------------------------// Mighty Alabama -by CortezDude- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Equestrian Families + Museums = Disaster //-------------------------------------------------------// Equestrian Families + Museums = Disaster 10:00 AM Friday Mobile, Alabama You, a 25-year-old man/woman who is still in college but also maintaining a part-time job, just woke up from your bed at your room and to be exact, in your own house knowing that this is the day. And what day you may ask? The day that your summer break has started and you've been saving up a lot of money to go to where you've been always wanting to go: The Battleship Memorial Park. Ever since you were a kid, you and your parents along with your younger sibling had been visiting there for the past 5 years and now, you will visit there on your own. You eventually get out of your own bed and start doing your daily routine by going to the bathroom where you start relieving and cleaning yourself. Then, you head downstairs in which you head into the kitchen and prepare your breakfast. Once you've finished eating, you head upstairs again but this time, you take a shower in the bathroom and when you're done, you choose your clothes and unplug your fully charged phone out of it's charger where the time says, "10:35 AM". No time to waste then! You head into your car which is full of gas and drive off towards the museum. The drive was actually a bit far away and since you left the house early, you my friend, decided to go do a little bit of me time and where exactly is this 'me time'? Well, duh! The mall is where you wanna go first, no doubt! You've planned on how many minutes that you want to spend at the mall and the minutes that you decided was more than a few long minutes. Luckily for you, there was a car that was leaving it's parking spot and you got your chance of parking there before anyone had gotten it. After exiting your car, you enter the mall in which you decided to just roam around and see if there's anything that interests you. But after a long walk around the place, it seems there's nothing that interests in you; so therefore, you turn on your phone and the time says, "11:55 AM". Well, that's the end of your mall trip! You head back into your car, pay your ticket, and drive off, heading straight to Battleship Memorial Park. But along the way whilst driving, you hear a loud growl on your stomach and that means only one thing: Hunger; and it means that it's time for lunch because the time on your car now said, "12:25 PM". That means you need to find a place to eat. You decided to do a drive-thru at Culver's and since it's your cheat day today as well as you eating a light breakfast earlier this morning, you decided to get a bit of a large order. After the last car drove to the pay area, you stop at the speaker where a female worker gives you a cheery greeting as she asks on what your order is. You tell her your order which is a Culver's Bacon Deluxe, a Crispy Chicken, an Original Chicken Tenders, a Large Crinkle Cut Fries, a Large Onion Rings, a Large Strawberry Custard Milkshake, and a Large Fanta Orange. The worker tells you the proceed to the paying area and you drive off to where she said. When you arrive, a male worker tells you the exact change and thus, you hand him first your disability card since you are a special needs person. Because of this, you receive a discount from it in which he tells you, your new change. You give him your amount that was in your wallet and in return, he gives you some change and tells you to proceed to the takeout area. Good thing you brought your water bottle because your parents always tell you to drink water since it's more hydrating than any other drink since your folks always call it, "Nature's Gatorade", and they're not lying about that. You drive to the takeout area and there, they hand out your order and thanked you for ordering at their place in which they tell you to come back soon as you drive off and start eating your lunch whilst driving and focusing on the road. Once your meal is finished, you open your glove compartment and get your wet wipes in which you wipe your greasy and messy hands off, knowing that you will have to go first to the bathroom once you arrive at your destination as well as to throw your garbage at a trash can, that's if you can find one. Viola! You have arrived at Battleship Memorial Park as you look at the time of your arrival. The time on your car read, "12:58 PM", and luckily for you, there was a vacant parking spot in which you park your car and exit your vehicle, breathing in the fresh air, thus you knew that it smelled of memories in this park. The sight of the South Dakota-class battleship USS Alabama, the Gato-class submarine USS Drum, the Aircraft Pavilion, the 2 memorials of the fallen warriors from the Korean and Vietnam War, Vehicles, Equipment, and a Ballistic Missile is enough to evoke childhood memories. You take out your phone from your pocket and take a selfie in which you send it to the family group chat at the Messenger app. But enough of that, it's time for you to go in and have a fun time! You pay for your admission ticket and grab a map of the museum. But wait! The first place you need to head is to the bathroom so you head into the bathroom, throw your trash that you ate at Culver's, and relieve yourself. Remember to wash your hands, for goodness sakes! You're done? Good. After doing those things, now it's time to get a tour of the museum and the first place you want to go is none other than USS Alabama. Ever since you were a kid, you loved anything that's about military history and that's what you like to be, a Historian who knows about military and battles throughout the world's history. You climb aboard the WWII-era battleship and tour around the turrets, anti-aircraft guns, and the interior of Mighty Alabama herself. Afterwards, you decided to go to the USS Drum and once you arrive inside the submarine, you feel like your at the Pacific War, ready to take down a Japanese vessel of any kind. You decided to have a turn at the periscope after a 12-year old boy had used it and pretend that you see an enemy approach and say out the bearings of the enemy ship. But enough of that, it's time you see the different military aircraft, helicopters, vehicles, and equipment used in different war eras of the 20th century. Oh....what's this? You see 2 families but these ones are not human. In fact, they are Equestrians! You knew that you've read in articles of Earth making alliances with the magical land of Equestria and you've seen some news at the TV or in the newspaper, so it's no surprise to see them in this museum. The 1st family is a group of Pegasi and unicorns; the father is a 37-year old blue Pegasus stallion while the mother is a 39-year old yellow unicorn mare while their kids or the correct term to be used; foals were a 19-year old red unicorn colt and a 16-year old green Pegasus filly. As for the 2nd family, well.....were all Earth Ponies with the father being a 35-year old light brown stallion and the mother being a 33-year old light cream mare along with their foals, who were in the forms of a 9-year old fuchsia filly and a 6-year old teal colt. You're guess is that these Equestrian families are friends, since they were chatting about their lives in Equestria and what not. But enough of that, it's time you head into the Aircraft Pavilion. When you enter inside the pavilion, memories once again evoke your mind as you see many planes from WWII to the Cold War and still, the museum hasn't changed one single bit. But wait! What is this you see? Why, it's none other than those Equestrians and they too were getting a tour inside this place. You walk from start to end, looking and reading at some of the artifacts and information about the different conflicts and what nots. You exit the pavilion and look at the other military hardware they used back in the day and until now. Such as an A-12, the Blackbird's predecessor or the B-25 which you probably knew it from the Doolittle Raid. Your favorites ones were the F-15A and the B-52D since they're always a spotlight for everything. The PT-Boat that you see and knew, came from the Vietnam War ever since you watched the film, Apocalypse Now. Afterwards, you decided to head straight to the memorials of the Korean and Vietnam War. Suddenly, there's a loud scream which isn't out of horror but out of shock as you turn around and see that the 4 foals were getting into trouble, somehow these foals teleported themselves inside the B-52 and you suspect it was the unicorn who did it. Afterwards, the 4 of them were standing on the F-15 while their parents called them out. The Pegasus and unicorn adults were calling out to their teenage foals, saying something about them being the irresponsible ones and for encouraging them to be bad influences to their cousins. That's when you realize something, these 2 Equestrian families were actually close to each other and you're guess is that 2 of the couples are siblings. You can hear the staff trying to catch them but they were too quick, so instead, you hear the Earth Pony stallion tell the unicorn mare who turns out to be his sister to do something as she lit up her horn and caught them in her magic aura. The staff then scolded the foals for their rowdy behavior and that one more of this, then they were going to ban them for 2 days. Those foals apologized to them as their parents had to discipline them for this unacceptable actions. It's not your fault that you couldn't help but chuckle at them but hey, sometimes life is unpredictable and just like Forrest Gump said, "My mama always said, "Life is like a box of chocolates". You never know what you're gonna get!". Without further ado, you take a look first at the Korean War Memorial in which you silently gave a bit of tribute to the fallen heroes of the conflict. Same goes for the Vietnam War Memorial where you too pay tribute to those that had fallen to the most unpopular war of the 20th Century. You looked at the time and now it read, "4:20 PM", which meant one thing, it was time for you to go home. As you make your way to the car, you can hear the group of Equestrian parents exasperating again but this time, it was the 2 Earth Pony foals and each one was insanely carrying something with their magical strength. The filly was carrying a M-4 Sherman while the colt was carrying the Vietnam PT-Boat. Once again, the staff knew that they had to deal with this mess once again. You chuckle as you pay the exit fee and head towards your car. The voices of the staff loudly telling the Earth Pony siblings to let go off the equipment as the younger ones decided to have another go while the staff had to chase them again. Before you drive off, you see them again but this time, they're in the USS Alabama and they were trying to get into the 16-inch barrels of it's 3rd turret while the staff along with the police try to pry them out. You couldn't contain your laughter as you laugh away driving, knowing that this one story to tell to your family and friends. After all, it isn't everyday that you get to see some Equestrian tourists causing funny mayhem every time. FIN Author's Note I might make a Story Notes sometime. But anyways, like I said before, if you enjoyed the story, leave a like and remember: NO HATEFUL COMMENTS IN HERE!!!!! Other than that, I hope you loved it. :scootangel: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/scootangel.png
