Starlight & Trixie: Tartarus buddies

Trixie sat in her cell in Tartarus, bored as usual....

She had found a way to kill time by practicing her magic tricks on piles of rubble on the ground, planning to use those tricks against Twilight if she ever found a way to escape this infernal prison.....

It wasn't fair how she and her friends tricked her into removing her Alicorn Amulet by putting on an elaborate show that she had a "better" one when really it was just a pretty necklace.....

She swore she would get out of here, and make her PAY for her humiliation.......

However, she stopped practicing when she heard something behind her.....

She turned around, and saw a portal being opened up as guards stepped through, carrying a cage with a new inmate inside......

Her curiosity peaked when they placed the cage down, and in laid a lilac coated unicorn with a purple and blue streaked mane, with a swirly stared cutie mark.....

The guards then walked back through the portal, leaving Trixie alone with her new cellmate.......

The unicorn turned to face Trixie.....

"Umm, hi neighbor..... Heh heh, wanna be friends?....." The stranger asked Trixie.

"Who are you?....." Trixie asked the unicorn.

"Well, my name is Starlight Glimmer. And you are?....."

"The great, and powerful, Trixie! Who was UNFAIRLY imprisoned here after being HUMILIATED by Twilight Sparkle in a magic duel!"

"Twilight Sparkle you say? I know how that feels....."

"Oh do tell? How did YOU end up in this dump?"

"It's a rather long story, but to put it simply, Twilight took away something that was VERY important to me. And so I only did the reasonable and rational thing, GO BACK IN TIME TO STOP HER FROM MAKING HER FRIENDS."

"YOU?! You went BACK IN TIME to stop Twilight's friend bonding before it happened?! Nopony but the great and powerful Trixie should be CAPABLE of performing a feat like that!"

"Believe me it was easy, I just needed to alter Star Swirl's time travel spell and go back to when young Pegasus Rainbow Dash performed her first sonic rainboom, and stop her before she could complete it."

"A SONIC RAINBOOM?! That's just an old mare's tale!"

"It's how she and her friends even became friends! They all saw the rainboom and got their cutie marks at the same time because of that rainbow! So I had to stop it."

"Right..... And I'm guessing you were not successful, seeing as how you ended up here."

"DON'T, REMIND ME."

"Hmph, you think YOU have it bad? Trixie was once adored by millions of ponies clamoring together to witness her amazing talent! She was once the most talented, most powerful, most skilled, most special pony in ALL of Equestria! Until Twilight and her ridiculous friends heckled Trixie for her performance! She showed up Trixie by banishing an Ursa MINOR back to its cave while Trixie couldn't even lay a SCRATCH on the overgrown bear!"

Starlight could only groan at this blue pony's unfathomable ego, something she greatly detested....

"Ugh, could you BE any more full of yourself? Why should you CARE about being great and powerful when you can be just as talented as everypony else? I once built a community that took away a ponies cutie mark, so that they wouldn't have experience the heartbreak of losing a friend over a special talent ever again, until TWILIGHT and her stooges came along, and took away EVERYTHING that I built!"

"Gee, Trixie feels SOOOOOOO sorry for you..... Cough cough, not really, cough cough."

"Well, it looks like we're gonna be stuck together for a long time..... So why don't we try to get comfortable and try to get along?"

"And let you brainwash me like you did to those villagers? NO WAY. Trixie quite loves her cutie mark, and would NEVER give it up for ANY reason!"

"You have made that quite clear......"

Time went by for a while, Trixie continuing to practice her magic as Starlight either watched or kept to herself, while sometimes stopping to ask Trixie questions.....

"Soooooooo..... What do you do when you're NOT performing for random ponies?"

"Trixie usually enjoys a nice spa relaxation, to fix up her face after a long day of performing."

"Interesting....."

"Why do you ask?"

"Oh nothing, I just wanted to see what I could do to conver- I mean, befriend you better....."

"Trixie isn't falling for any of your games Starblight!"

"STARLIGHT."

"Yeah, whatever. If you want Trixie to give up specialty and embrace humility you'd have to try better then that."

"I just don't see how anypony could be so egotistical, especially one who I've yet to see actually perform such 'great power'."

"Well maybe if she wasn't imprisoned in Tartarus with the likes of you, Trixie would be able to actually SHOW YOU."

"I sincerely doubt that but if you say so......"

Hours turned into what seemed like days, or even months, perhaps years. And Trixie's attitude has not at all changed, noir did Starlight give up on her pursuit to make her embrace equality.

"Why can't we just work towards a common goal? We were both defeated and humiliated by Princess Twilight and her five lackeys."

"Pfft, yeah right. The purple unicorn is a Princess now. Trixie will believe THAT when she sees it...."

"Wait, she was a UNICORN when you two encountered?"

"Well, yes! Wait..... Don't tell Trixie......"

"Yeah........."

Trixie's eye merely twitched as she realized Twilight became an Alicorn after their duel.....

"IT'S NOT FAIR!!!"

"Oh quit your whining! At least SHE actually proved her power, unlike YOU."

"The more you talk, the more you risk Trixie blasting you with every spell she knows when she escapes this cell and teaches you a lesson for your MISTREATMENT!"

"If I was mistreating you, I would be doing MUCH worse to you then I am right now....."

"Laugh it up, Glim-Glam. Laugh it up."

"At least here we don't have to sit through her big long lectures about 'friendship'......"

"You're right about one thing......."

"But it would be a hundred times better without YOU."

"Or YOU."

They both turned their heads away in anger, as Trixie continued to practice her magic......

Later...........

"Psst, Trixie."

"It's the GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie, and what is it now?"

"I just wanted you to see the opportunity of equality I am presenting to you."

Trixie merely grunted before trying to practice her magic again, before she and Starlight were both taken by a dark swirl of magic.....
