After returning to Canterlot High to help her friends in the battle of the bands, Twilight decided to take a different approach. This time, she wanted to act alone. She was convinced that confronting one of the mermaids could give her answers and, hopefully, an advantage over the Dazzlings.
As she walked through the halls of the school, her eyes scanned every corner, looking for the girls responsible for the chaos. Finally, she made out a familiar figure: purple hair pulled back into two pigtails and turquoise locks. If her memory served her right, that was Aria Blaze.
Cautiously, Twilight began to follow her, making sure to stay out of her sight. She followed her throughout the school, waiting for the perfect moment to confront her. The trail led her to the gymnasium, where the long-awaited battle of the bands would take place.
Aria walked nonchalantly up to the stage and disappeared backstage. Twilight, determined, followed closely behind. However, when she turned the corner where Aria had disappeared, all she found was an empty hallway.
Confused, she turned in all directions, looking for the purple-haired girl. Suddenly, she saw her enter a dressing room. Without hesitation, she headed for the door.
Opening it, she found herself in a completely dark room. There was absolutely nothing to be seen. Twilight moved forward carefully, feeling the walls for a light switch, but before she found it, something pushed her hard against the wall.
“Why are you following me?” a low, menacing voice said.
Twilight blinked, trying to get used to the dim light. Slowly, Aria’s figure became visible in front of her. She held her arms tightly, immobilizing her.
Twilight gasped. From this close, Aria was even more beautiful than she remembered. Her face was intimidating, but there was something hypnotic in her eyes. For a moment, she completely forgot her purpose.
The pressure on her wrists increased, tearing her from her reverie.
“I asked you a question,” Aria said, her tone harsher this time, making Twilight shudder.
She blinked several times, trying to calm herself, and began to struggle.
“Let me go!” she demanded, trying to free herself.
“No,” Aria replied coldly, tightening her grip even more. “Not until you answer my question.”
Twilight stopped struggling, but refused to speak. Aria glared at her in irritation before bringing her face closer to hers, her eyes shining menacingly in the dim light.
“So, are you going to answer or not?” Aria snapped, as she squeezed Twilight’s wrists tighter.
Twilight groaned in pain and glared at her. Her reaction seemed to amuse Aria, who smiled in satisfaction.
Weighing her options, Twilight decided to speak.
“I want answers.”
Aria's expression hardened slightly, though she also seemed confused.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she replied coldly, relaxing her grip slightly and taking a step back.
Twilight exhaled deeply, not realizing she'd been holding her breath.
"I mean this whole band battle thing. What are you planning?" Aria looked at her with a mix of amusement and mockery, which only irritated Twilight more.
"I still haven't decided if you're very brave or very stupid for facing me alone," Aria said with a sarcastic smile before letting go completely. Twilight rubbed her wrists as Aria turned toward the door.
"You're not worth my time, girl. If you were hoping to get anything out of me, forget it," Aria said dismissively, giving her one last look before turning toward the door.
But before she could leave, Twilight held her firmly, refusing to let her go. Aria, surprised by the grip, tried to jerk free, but Twilight didn't budge.
“Let me go!” Aria demanded in an irritated tone, her eyes glowing a deep ruby red. Twilight was momentarily paralyzed, mesmerized by the glow in his eyes. Something in that gaze stirred emotions she didn't understand, but that were beginning to affect her deeply. Shaking her head, she managed to snap out of her trance and shook her head determinedly.
“No, not until you give me answers.” Annoyed by the refusal, Aria yanked hard on her arm, trying to free herself. The sudden movement took Twilight by surprise, who lost her balance and stumbled forward. The momentum caused them both to fall to the ground, with Twilight landing directly on top of Aria.
“Get off me, you idiot!” Aria growled, clearly furious as she writhed under Twilight's weight.
Twilight, still somewhat dazed, straightened up as best she could, sitting on top of Aria. Seeing her in that position, immobilized and visibly upset, a small spark of satisfaction ran through Twilight. Her friends always saw her as the kind and compassionate girl, but at that moment, she couldn't help but enjoy the irony of the situation a little.
Determined to take advantage, Twilight grabbed Aria's wrists tightly, lifting them above her head and pressing them against the floor.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Aria demanded, struggling to free herself, but to no avail.
"I want answers, and you're going to give them to me, whether by fair means or foul," Twilight replied firmly, keeping Aria pinned down.
It was then that she realized how compromising this all was. The dimness of the room barely softened the intensity of the moment. Her gaze lingered on Aria's face: her messy hair fell over her cheeks, framing her features in a way Twilight couldn't deny was... attractive.
A light blush began to tint her cheeks, but she was grateful that the darkness hid any obvious signs. Shaking off those inappropriate thoughts, she focused on what was important.
“I’m not leaving until you talk,” Twilight said, her voice shaking slightly at the closeness, but her resolve remaining.
Aria narrowed her eyes, watching her with a mix of frustration and something else Twilight couldn’t quite place.
“You’re more trouble than you look,” Aria muttered, still trying to free herself. Twilight knew she was treading on dangerous ground, but she was willing to take the risk. No matter what she felt or how complicated it all was, answers were her priority. Twilight kept her grip firm, even though her heart was pounding. She tried to ignore Aria’s proximity and focus on what she was looking for: answers. However, the mermaid had other plans.
Aria stopped struggling for a moment, raising an eyebrow as a lopsided smile spread across her face.
“Wow, is this your way of intimidating someone?” she murmured in a mocking tone, her voice low and seductive, soft enough to make Twilight hesitate. “Not bad... though it seems like you're the most nervous one here.”
Twilight gulped, trying not to react. "I'm... not nervous," she replied quickly, though the slight tremor in her voice gave her away.
"Oh, no?" Aria tilted her head slightly, causing her messy hair to slide across her face. Her eyes, bright even in the dim light, were fixed on Twilight's, studying her intently. "So, why are you so red?" Twilight looked away, feeling her face heat up even more.
"That doesn't matter. Just answer my question." Aria let out a soft laugh, low enough to make Twilight's skin crawl.
"You're adorable when you try to be serious, you know?" she said, her tone now much more provocative. "But tell me, do you really think you can get anything out of me with this... tactic?"
"I'm being completely serious!" Twilight exclaimed, trying to regain control of the situation.
Aria took the opportunity to shift slightly beneath her, causing Twilight to stumble. Before she could compose herself, Aria leaned her head forward, getting close enough for her lips to almost brush Twilight’s.
“Are you sure you wouldn’t rather stay like this a little longer?” Aria whispered, her smile equal parts defiant and flirtatious.
Twilight froze, her eyes wide. Her mind clouded, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say or do. She could only feel the heat emanating from Aria, her warm breath against her skin, and the way that gaze made her emotionally reel.
“I-I’m not playing!” she finally stammered, pulling away slightly, but still holding onto Aria’s wrists.
“Of course not,” Aria said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “But, admit it, you’re enjoying this more than you should.”
Twilight opened her mouth to protest, but the words didn't come out. Something in Aria's tone, in the way she looked at her, made her thoughts tangle.
"Tell me, what if I refuse to answer?" Aria asked with a playful smile. "What will you do, Twilight? Keep me here all night?"
The question, intentionally ambiguous, made Twilight press her lips together. Her face was still burning, and she wasn't sure if it was from frustration, nerves, or something else she didn't want to acknowledge.
"If you don't talk," she finally said, struggling to maintain her composure, "I'll find another way to make you do it."
Aria arched an eyebrow, amused by the statement, and her lips curved into an even more provocative smile.
"My, my... it seems you have an interesting side after all. This could be fun." Twilight tried to ignore the effect of those words, but her own nervousness betrayed her. How was it possible that someone could be so frustratingly irritating and, at the same time, so disconcerting?
Twilight took a deep breath, trying to regain some composure. She knew Aria was playing with her, but that didn't make the situation any less complicated. However, she wasn't going to let the provocation derail her from her goal.
"If you think your games are going to distract me, you're wrong. I already told you, I want answers." Her voice was firmer this time, though Aria's closeness still made it difficult for her to fully concentrate.
Aria tilted her head, her expression showing a mix of mockery and consideration.
"Answers, huh?" she repeated, her tone still playful. "Very well, I'll give you something. But not because you asked me to... but because I'm bored."
Twilight narrowed her eyes, unsure if she should trust her, but nodded to encourage her to continue.
"Listen carefully, princess," Aria began, dragging out the word with intentional irreverence. "We Dazzlings aren't just here to 'cause chaos,' as you surely think." This is bigger than just a singing contest.
Twilight pursed her lips. That was exactly what she suspected.
“What does that mean? What are you planning?” she asked, her tone serious.
Aria chuckled, her gaze glinting with mischief.
“Ah, ah, not so fast. I’m not going to tell you everything, that would be too easy. But let’s just say that this little show is just the beginning. And trust me, when we’re done, Canterlot High won’t be the same again.”
Twilight felt a chill run down her spine. She couldn’t allow herself to let her guard down, but something about the way Aria spoke made her feel like she was in on a much bigger game than she had anticipated.
“Why are you telling me this?” she asked, suspicious. Aria smiled, this time in a softer, almost genuine way.
“Because I want to see what you’ll do with this information. You intrigue me, Twilight. There’s something… different about you.”
“You’re more persistent than most boring people in this school. And, in case you haven’t noticed, I enjoy seeing you nervous when I’m this close.”
Twilight gritted her teeth, struggling to ignore the heat rising to her face again. “I’m not going to let you confuse me. I’m going to stop you, no matter what you’re planning.”
Aria let out a theatrical sigh, as if Twilight’s determination amused her more than she took her seriously.
“Oh, sure. I’m sure you’ll look adorable trying to save the day. But in the meantime…”
Before Twilight could process the change in tone, Aria took advantage of a moment of distraction. With a swift movement, she twisted her wrists to free herself from Twilight’s grip. She then gently pushed Twilight to the side, but this time, instead of pulling away, Aria quickly reversed their positions.
Twilight gasped in surprise as she found herself flat on her back against the ground, with Aria on top of her. The mermaid positioned herself between her legs, holding her firmly as she smiled cheekily.
“Wow, look what we have here,” Aria murmured, her voice filled with mockery and a hint of flirtation. Twilight, now completely exposed and unable to ignore the closeness, felt the heat spread across her face. The blush was soon evident, and before she could stop herself, she let out a light moan at the impact.
Aria’s expression lit up with a teasing smile upon hearing it.
“Was that a moan, princess?” She asked mischievously, leaning slightly towards her. “I thought you were more serious, but it seems I’m starting to get to know you better.”
Twilight pressed her lips together, her gaze divided between frustration and bewilderment.
“Get off me!” she exclaimed, trying to regain some control, although Aria’s strength made it practically impossible to move.
“Why the rush?” “I admit,” Aria replied, her tone deliberately slow as she watched her. “I admit this is an interesting position. You don’t look so threatening now, you know?”
The mockery in Aria’s voice ignited a mix of anger and embarrassment in Twilight. She was trapped, not just physically, but also in a mind game that Aria was clearly enjoying far too much.
Twilight tried to regain control of the situation, but Aria’s weight on her and the mermaid’s teasing smile made her concentration waver.
“Really, Twilight, if you keep getting so nervous, I’m going to think you like this situation,” Aria murmured in a honeyed voice, leaning in even closer.
“Don’t be ridiculous!” Twilight replied, though the blush on her cheeks betrayed her. Aria let out a low giggle, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
“Oh, you don’t need to admit it. I see it in your face, princess. That mix of confusion, frustration… and something else.” Twilight looked away, trying not to fall for Aria's game.
“Why do you always have to be so annoying?” she growled, though her voice lacked the firmness she wanted to convey. Aria cocked her head, pretending to think for a moment.
“It’s funny. And, to be honest, you make it way too easy. Look at you… so determined, so serious, yet so awfully bad at hiding what you really feel.”
Aria’s smile widened as her fingers gently traced Twilight’s wrist, still trapped under her grip.
“You should relax a little, princess. Maybe learn to enjoy the moment.” Twilight gritted her teeth, her eyes burning with determination.
“Stop it!” she snapped, though her voice shook slightly. “If you’re just here to make fun of me, then—”
“Then what?” Aria interrupted, leaning in so close that their noses were almost touching. “Are you going to make me stop? Because you don’t seem like you’re in any position to give orders.”
Twilight gulped, her mind clouded by the closeness. The words seemed to escape her, and Aria, noticing her bewilderment, took the opportunity to lean in even closer.
“You know?” There's something fascinating about you, Twilight Sparkle," Aria whispered, her tone now low and seductive. "Maybe it's that mix of bravery and clumsiness. Or maybe it's the fact that, despite everything, you're still here, facing me... when you're clearly losing."
Before Twilight could respond, Aria leaned in, her eyes shining with a mix of desire and defiance. With a provocative smile, she pressed her lips against Twilight's in a kiss that was anything but innocent. It was a heated encounter, full of passion, where their mouths intertwined with a palpable urgency, as if time stopped and the world faded away around them.
Twilight felt a torrent of sensations run through her body, the touch of Aria's lips igniting every fiber of her being. It was a deep, exploratory kiss, filled with a lust that left them both breathless. Aria moved confidently, her tongue gently brushing Twilight's lips, inviting her to surrender to the intensity of the moment.
The kiss was brief, but it left a burning imprint on Twilight’s mind, who stood still, stunned and wanting more. Aria pulled away with a triumphant expression, finally releasing Twilight’s wrists as she stood up with a carefree grace, as if she had just won a game only they understood.
“Well, that was fun,” she commented, calmly fixing her hair, dropping a seductive gaze on Twilight before heading for the door.
Twilight, still on the floor and with her face burning, tried to find the right words, but only managed a soft stammer, caught up in the intensity of the kiss. Aria paused in the doorway of the dressing room, turning her head to look at her once more, her smile full of mischief.
“See you later, princess. Oh, and thanks for the entertainment.” With a wink and a smirk, Aria walked out of the dressing room, leaving Twilight alone, confused and with her heart beating frantically, as if she had run a marathon.
Twilight brought a hand to her lips, still feeling the burn of the kiss, the echo of the connection they had shared. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself and process the explosion of sensations that had invaded her.
“What the hell just happened?” she muttered to herself, knowing that Aria had managed to completely disarm her, awakening in her a desire she had never anticipated.
