Meet The Velvet's (No Smut)

Night Light made sure the bedroom door was closed shut before kneeling down to the bottom of his wardrobe, hidden behind a row of dress shoes and under old shoe boxes was a simple small black box. The mature stallion leaned his head over to check again that the door was shut and that he was alone, once he knew the cost was clear he retrieved the black box and placed it on the king sized bed next to the cobalt blue suitcase.

The bed sat in the middle of a luxurious room which would feel big if it wasn't for the multiple wardrobes and shelves full of clothes, jewellery and other materialistic trinkets. Between the high-end furniture and the huge extravagant bed Night Light found it hard to move around the room to pack.

Laid out on the king sized were neatly folded clothes and bags of toiletries, Night Light went though checklists in his mind, everything had to be perfect and according to his plan. Now that he saw all of the clothes and items on the bed he relised that he's still missing one thing, he opened the drawer next to his side of the bed and pulled out an open white envelope, the word "BINGO" in full capital letters was written on one side.

Night Light opened the envelope and thumbed through the dollar bills inside, there was over $500 inside made up of hundred, fifty and twenty dollar bills. After counting and inspecting the money he closed the envelop and placed it inside of the deep blue suitcase. Next he turned his attention to the small black box, he once again looked behind him to the closed door and then open the lid.

Inside the descript black box was a silicon tulip anal douche with a long plastic nozzle and a small pipe cleaner for cleaning after use. Night still remembers when he first bought it he paid extra for a blank box, the last thing he needed was for a bag or a box with the logo of some sex shop in his home. He emptied the contents of the box into his suit case and started to stack his clothes on top, hiding the douche under a mixture of dresswear and more stylish casual wear.

He was just about to finish packing his clothes when he relised that he can't just leave the black box out on the bed, he mind started to race as he held it in his hands "Even if the box is empty, isn't suspicious to own such a box? It's clearly not a shoe box, it wouldn't take a genius to eventually work out th-" Night Light's spiralling thoughts were interrupted by his bedroom door swinging open and a young blue haired colt bursting into the room.

"Dad, it's dinner time. Mom told me to get you!" Night Light nearly jumped out of his skin, his grip on the empty box loosened and it went flying into the air before falling next to the wardrobe where it was originally hidden. Night Light took a deep breath in before spinning around with a smile on his face.

"Jeez there, son. You nearly scared me to death. Why don't you run along and save my seat, I'll be there in a second" Night Light grinned wide as he guided his son out of the room. The colt happily left the room to go eat dinner, if he had only turned back to his parents' bedroom before the door closed, then he would've seen the kind smile his farther always wore fall into a tired frown.

Twilight Velvet had just sat down at the dinning table to join her son and daughter when her husband walked into the room. Night Light ruffled Shining Armor's hair as he walked over and took his seat at one end of the table. His beloved children were to his left and right and infront of him was their mother, his wife.

The "Velvet" household lived in the middle of Canterlot city, a city known for it's fame, fortune and status. Twilight Velvet and Night Light were both born and raised in Canterlot, they even went to the same schools and were forced to go to the same after school activities. If you had asked any of their childhood friends they would all say the same thing, that those two were made for each other and it was only a matter of time before they got married and had a whole herd of foals.

"So, honey, how is the solo packing going?" Twilight Velvet asked as she twirled her fork into her bowl of spaghetti.

"It's going fine, dear. Just have a few more things to do and I'll be done" Night Light said as he helped pour his daughter a glass of water. "Also, can I just say that this pasta looks fant-"

"Because you know, I could help you." His wife cut him off. "Like if I helped you plan this little trip of yours I would have gotten you a better hotel"

Night Light looked to his children to see their reaction before he reacted himself. His son, Shining Armor was pretending that he couldn't hear what was surely the start of another one of his parents' arguments and his daughter, Twilight Sparkle, was too preoccupied with her spaghetti meal to pay attention.

Night Light cleared his throat and forced another smile. "Now, remember what I said, sweetheart. I booked that hotel because it's closer to the convention center, I don't always have to stay in some five star hotel, especially for a two day trip."

Night Light struggled to make his voice sound serious enough for the point to get through to his wife but also not so strict that she'll use it to start an argument. This is a balancing act that Night Light had been doing for decades now.

Twilight Velvet didn't seem to like that response. "I am just saying that, if I booked your trip then it would have all been easier but you insisted that you'll book a trip for yourself, by yourself" she argued without looking up from her food.

In this moment Night Light knew that he could have said alot of things in response to his other half, he could state that it actually was very easy to plan the trip, he could argue back that she doesn't have to control every aspect of his life or if he was feeling extra bold he could finally tell her off for always trying to start these arguments in front of their childhood, the two people he loved most in the world but instead Night Light gave a polite chuckle and ate his food.

After Night Light was done washing all of the dishes he made his way to the front living room of his and Velvet's large luxury home. In the afternoon Night Light likes to spend as time as possible with his children and every night the two miracles liked to read quietly in a room together with their farther as their mother locked herself away in her study working on her newest novel.

He was, of course, warmly welcomed as he walked into the room. His youngest dropped her book and ran up to him.

"Dad, dad, I'm learning about the Hoofbel space telescope. Do you think you'll see it tomorrow?" At first Night Light didn't understand his daughter's question, that was untill he took a look at her chosen reading material of the night.

While her brother decided to read a series of comic books about crime fighting, Twilight had taken the astronomy book from the center coffee table. This certain book was the newest copy of "Stargazer Monthly". Night Light had intentionally left it out because the cover was an ad for the astronomy conference that he had convinced his family he was going to. If his wife had any questions or doubts about the conference all she would have to do is read that book.

"Daddy?" Night Light snapped back from his thoughts to find his daughter looking up at him with a worried look, he turned to his son who was across the room also wore the same concerned look. Their father quickly cleared his throat and gave a small chuckle.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. I was completely lost in thought, what were you saying?" Twight smiled and ran back to her spot next to the fire place to retrieve the book, she came back to her farther pointing to an open page including serval photos of groups of ponies standing around a telescope satellite. The Hoofbel telescope was the prize jewel of the Manehatten "Astom-Con" an annual conference which is hosted in a different city in Equestria every year.

"Ahh, yes that telescope. Why don't you come sit next to me and I'll tell you about it" Night Light sat down in one of the many luxurious reading couches then he dramatically brushed the seat next to he of any dirt or lint before patting the seat. His daughter excitedly hopped up on to the couch, book in hand, she cuddled up to her father's side before handing him the book.

"You see, Twily. This telescope will be on display in a huge convention hall, there will be many many brilliant scientists from all over Equestria and tomorrow night your old man will be right there" He points to the front row of ponies observing the satellite telescope. "I'll be going to all of the speeches and events, I'm sure I'll even run into all of my friends from work"
Twilight's eyes want wide with excitement and curiosity.

"But, but you didn't say that the coolest telescope ever would be there! Can I please PLEASE go with you?" His daughter was now slightly tugging on his shirt, he let himself bask in the cute moment for a split second before sadly replaying with "I'm so sorry sweetie but daddy has decide to do this trip alone, I know that we would have lots of fun going but I'm not so sure about the other two" Night Light gave Twilight a goofy smile before shifting his eyes to his son reading in the corner of the room.

This teasing gesture earned him a giggle from Twilight. "This trip will be dad only but don't be sad because I'll be back home before you're finished school on Monday and I'll have a whole bag worth of gifts for you and your brother. Dosn't that sound nice, a whole weekend with just the three of you?" Twight's and Shining Armor's faces both lit up as she heard the mention of gifts. Night Light already knew what gifts would make each foal the happiest, Twilight would want a key chain and other merchandise from the conference and Shining Armor would want something more flashy and trendy, good thing those are the exact type of prizes that they give out at Bingo. Night Light, of course, was not actually going to play bingo this weekend, he has already per ordered his gifts and "prizes" using cash, all he'd have to do is go to each store and collect them.

Night Light meandered around his house as he dried his hair with a small towel, he had decided that he would leave in the middle of reading time in order to have a shower and get to bed before his wife was done writing for the night. He took his time walking around the wide empty kitchen, the more he looks around the more he thought that almost all of the furniture and décor was of his wife's choosing. Night Light had always seen himself living in some penthouse apartment in a big city, surrounded by fun paintings and contemporary sleek couches and seats but instead he lived in a normal suburban house which his wife had filled with neutral tones and minimalistic furniture.

Night Light had so many ideas and plans of how his life would pan out and much of them did not involve the suburbs, a wife or even staying in Canterlot at all. Yet, he felt guilty even thinking those thoughts, if it wasn't for all of this then he wouldn't have his two beautiful children. The only part of his life plan that actually happened was having a son of his own, a son that he could raise better then he was raised by his father, so far in their twelve years of marriage it was the only thing that his wife had begrudgingly let him have.

He made his way to his bedroom, he had hoped that he would be able to read and mentally prepare for what tomorrow had instore but instead his wife was waiting for him in bed. She was wearing a slightly see through nightgown with pink frills around the thighs and cleavage, she had also taken the time to light several candles around the room, the dancing lights helping to set a sensual mood and to add more definition to her already thick mature curves. This was the exact situation that Night Light wanted to avoid.

"Close and lock the door, dear. I want you to give me a proper send off." Twilight velvet cooed in a seductive tone. Night Light did close and lock the door as he was told but instead of crawling into bed as his wife commanded he stood firmly by the door.

"What are you doing? The kids are still awake, what if they had walked in?" Night Light tried to keep his voice low as he told his wife off, worried that his voice would travel through the beige wallpaper and carry through the whole household.

"Don't worry, I sent Twilight to bed early." Velvet sat up on her knees and angled her arms to push her breasts together. "Now, get over here."

Night Light sighed deeply before saying "And what about our son, you know, your other child. You can't just focus on one of them, Velvet." his eyes fell to his suitcase placed underneath the bed. The small midnight blue lock was still intact, good, that means that his wife hadn't tried to look through what he had packed. "Also, I need to sleep so sorry but not tonight"

Velvet let out a dramatic sigh. "Seriously, Night? Don't give me that line again." She defensively crossed her arms over her near naked chest. "Every single time with the excuses. If you don't want to have sex then just be a man and say it" her mood had quickly changed as it always had when she didn't get something her way.

"I'm not having this conversation with you again, I need to be awake and ready for the taxi" Night Light moves through the cramped bedroom trying to get to his single wardrobe in the corner of the room.

"Do you even remember the last time we had sex? Because I certainly don't." Twilight Velvet asked rhetorically trying to goad her husband to react. He would never admit it out loud but he actually did remember the last time he had to fuck his wife to make her happy, it was their ten year anniversary which was more then two years ago.

Leading up to the date Velvet had started to drag her husband to multiple therapy sessions with several therapists, in which she would rant about his "intimacy issues" and apparent lack of love and respect for her. Unfortunately for Night Light, the majority of the doctors were mares and the majority basically just told him to do as his wife said.

Night Light thought for a moment if he should come up with some lie, excuse or comeback but instead he just stood there and let his wife berate him once again. He watched as she stood up and wrapped a white and lilac house coat around her body, for a minute Night Light thought that she would walk up to him and try something unpleasant but he found himself relived when she instead walked right past him and unlocked the bedroom door.

"If you don't want to touch me, fine asshole, be my guest. Have fun sleeping alone all weekend!" Velvet shouted that last part as she slammed the door behind her. If Shining Armor was still up reading then there's no way he didn't hear what she just said.

Night Light knew that he would have to apologise in the moring, he knew that with in the next month she will insisted that he was the one who MADE her sleep in her study instead of her own bed and he knew that he would have to be the one to comfort him son. Funnily enough after all of that Night didn't need to read a book or watch tv to fall asleep, he was absolutely exhausted as he blown out all of the lit candles in the room and got into bed.

Instead of staying on his side of the bed in hopes that his wife will change her mind and come back to bed, Night laid right in the center of the obscenely large bed, He might have been alone but being alone in bed will always be better then feeling alone while laying right next to his wife.
