"I mean, isn't it obvious?"
Discord held Tree Hugger with his magic near an interdimensional portal, as Fluttershy pleaded with him not to boot her to a different dimension.
"I'm doing her a favor Fluttershy! It's a lovely dimension: white sand beaches, attentive wait staff..... I mean, okay, the humidity isn't great, but where isn't that the case these days?....."
"I don't understand why you're doing this! We were all getting along so well!"
"As well as we COULD, considering you've already stomped all over our friendship by inviting your new girlfriend to the biggest night of the year as if I didn't matter at all!"
"Did you really think I-.... Wait, you think we're WHAT?!"
"I mean, isn't it obvious?"
"Tree Hugger and I aren't dating! We're just friends!"
"Oh come on Fluttershy! You can't seriously hold hooves, call her juvenile nicknames, and tell me that it's just platonic friendship between the two of you."
Tree Hugger floated there watching the two argue, very confused how this new spiritual creature was accusing her of getting freaky with Flutters.
"Tree Hugger and I are just really close! And besides, why should it matter if she's my girlfriend or not?! Don't you want me to be happy?"
"Well of course I want you to be happy! I just wish I can be a part of it! I mean, why should you value her over me?! You've known me way longer then her!"
"Umm, if I may interrupt, I like Fluttershy however she chooses to like me. It keeps us inter bound and connected spiritually through mutual agreement."
"This conversation doesn't involve you!" Discord snapped at what he believed to be Fluttershy's date.
"Discord, of COURSE you will be a part of my happiness! I would never abandon you! Why do you believe that just because I have a girlfriend that means you should cut her off from my life so it's just you and me?!"
"So you ADMIT it!"
"What?! No! I meant hypothetically! Hypothetically speaking!"
"It's too late to take back what you said Fluttershy, I already know."
Fluttershy promptly rubbed her face in annoyance.
"Discord, why can't I just invite a friend to the Gala? I only wanted to take a FRIEND to a place I think she would have a nice time! It's nothing romantic!"
"Oh please! You honestly believe that you can just take your 'FRIEND' to a place that's suited perfectly for a romantic evening and tell me that there's nothing going on between the two of you?"
"Haven't YOU invited a non-romantic partner to a Gala before? How would you feel if people looked at you and The Smooze and accused YOU of dating?"
"The Smooze and I are very close friends, but there's nothing else between that. You just don't understand how it feels when you bring a partner to a very important event that's not me!" Discord pouted.
"Discord, you can't just send Tree Hugger to another dimension because you think we're dating!" Fluttershy yelled.
"It's not so much that you're dating, more that you value your sex life over your time for your friends!"
"For the last time Discord, we, are, not, DATING! How many times do I have to tell you?!"
"Probably until the day the Grand Galloping Gala is cancelled for business, or until the sun explodes. And Honestly, I'm willing to bet the sun will go first."
Fluttershy promptly groaned in irritation over Discord's stubborn accusations over her personal love life.
"All I ask is that you put Tree Hugger down before you dropkick her into several parallel dimensions ahead of us!"
"Flutters, just tell him that we like each other on a field of spiritual equality, neither platonic or romantic......"
Discord could only let out a loud groan that made Fluttershy and Tree Hugger cover their ears.
"Discord, do you really think I would abandon you just because I invited a new friend/possible romantic partner?"
"Yes! Because that's what you did!"
"No Discord! I invited a friend/partner to a party! I didn't abandon you! What would happen if you made a new friend/partner you could discuss chaos based magic with?! Would that mean we aren't friends anymore?"
Discord tapped his chin in ponderation.......
"Umm, no.... It wouldn't! It would just mean that I would have different friends for, different things.... Oh dear, it may seem I may have overreacted just a skoosh....."
"More like a lot of skoosh's! Tree Hugger, could you give us a minute?"
Tree Hugger nodded in conformation.
"I'm just so new to this whole 'friendship' thing, it's a lot more complicated then it looks...."
"Do you think you maybe owe somepony an apology?"
Discord manifested a flower in his paw as a sign of apology, before Fluttershy slapped it away.
"Not me!" She pointed a hoof at Tree Hugger.
"Oh, right."
Discord snapped his fingers which made the portal vanish, and Hugger fall to the ground, landing safely on a pin cushion.
He then pulled the jewel's out of the Smooze, shrinking it to how it was before, and releasing Twilight and her friends.
"Umm, Tree Hugger, I'm terribly sorry that you got caught in the middle of my....... uh hum.......you know...... wrath......"
"Oh, it's all groovy....."
"And I am also terribly sorry for accusing you of being in an intimate relationship with my bestie, I know now that she would let me know about things I like that....."
"Of course I would..... Yup! Definitely would tell you about stuff so important. But all is forgiven Discord, let's just enjoy the party."
Discord nodded his head in agreement, before he went to apologize to Smoozie.
Later.......
Fluttershy closed her bedroom door, before turning to face Treezie.
"That was too close, if he ever realized the truth, we would never hear the end of it....." Fluttershy lamented....
"Oh, I'm sure you can tell him one day Flutters, he just needs time to accept that there is a world outside of the one he lives in, and that people like him develop intense feelings for the ones we love......" Tree Hugger stated, as she laid in Fluttershy's bed.
"Oh you always have such a way with words Treezy." Fluttershy chuckled.
"Just try to relax and vibe with me." Hugger invited.
"Oh ok....." Fluttershy accepted, before she closed her bedroom curtains.....
Angel could hear the "good vibes" from outside the bedroom, as he stuck out his tongue in disgust.....
He thought about telling Discord, but then decided.....
Nah, he'd let them have this.....
And besides he can't understand him anyway..........
