Snowflake Obsidian stood alone on a hill with a sprawling cemetery at her feet. In her left hand was a book, more like an encyclopedia of names and descriptions of people long passed on. "It's funny really, you once told me Rosebud that one day you'd have a decendent with a similar name to you. Guess you had a small foresight. Over in Ponyville you had a have great, great, great granddaughter named Rose Luck and she still runs that flower shop you opened up." Snowflake Obsidian said to herself. "Tell Silverlining that I still drink that awful ale she recommended during our spring holiday, it still smells like sewage." Snowflake chuckled as she remembered that old argument.
Snowflake Obsidian was seventeen hunred years old and has been everywhere and done everything. Snowflake remembered when Luna and Celestia took the throne and Luna's banishment. With her own hands she had built Ponyville's old school house which still stood as a historic marker. Flipping through a few pages she came to a name - "Old man Quartz, your great granddaughter is raising her family well. You'd probably criticize me for my hair cut, I've changed it to fit the era in which I walk. Cloudy Quartz' daughter Limestone is just like you...which is scary. By the way - today is your birthday and also ironic that you died on your birthday. Life has a weird sense of humor. Thank you for taking me in when I ended up on your rock farm. I still wear that home made necklace with the Dragon's Flare Ruby in it. I'm currently getting the necklace cleaned and people have offered hundreds of bits for it. Star Swirl and the other Pillars have come back and live in this era as well."
Snowflake heard footsteps behind her and she turned her head to see Twilight Sparkle." Your highness".
"Hi Snowflake, Cloudy Quartz said that you'd be here today. How do you manage living as long as you have? I've become an alicorn and Luna and Celestia told me that I should talk to you. I fear that I might fall apart the day I start losing my friends. I've written in my journal everyday and everything I can about them."
"Can't really help you because it never gets easier. My first friend, Solar Flare loved being in the sun even though she burned easily. I lost that crazy girl when I was seventeen. She got burned at the stake in an era where we were hunted like prey, The government paid only four gold bits for her death. I managed to escape that era because I never stood still I kept moving around."
"Your race managed to escape and go back to Threstralia, why did you stay here?"
"I had friends I tried my best to protect. However, death and old age got them. I guess, when the day comes you and I will still have each other until it's my time. I'm immortal when it comes to unnatural deaths but I may live to be eighty thousand years old, I want to be buried in the far left corner of this cemetery.... I promised Solar Flare that when I died, I'd be buried beside her. That plot is still in my name and I intend to keep my promise. It sucks that all I could bury of her was her bones and ashes - I couldn't even have a proper funeral for her because after I buried her with my own hands and then I had to run."
"Cloudy Quartz said that you knew her great great grandfather? If that's the case, I was wondering if you knew my mom's great, great, great, great grandmother?"
"I knew her, in fact you're named after her....I may have been the cause she developed a phobia of ladybugs. She was obsessed with the little bugs, so I one day collected about a thousand of them and released them into her bedroom one night, I may have also scared her as well. The qusadilla phobia, I never figured out how or why she became afraid of them. Come to think of it, she became afraid of the on a nightmare night years before Luna had been banished and before they took the throne. Nightmare Night was originally designed to scare the demons that brought bad luck. "Well, we had grown up together and she was my first real friend. She had given her life to save mine in total reality. She died but her husband and children managed to escape and you know one of her heirs."

Spitfire's thing about a body cast and a straw....that refenced me and a dumb stunt I did and I actually did wound up in a body cast and drinking through a straw." Twilight Sparkle laughed, Snowflake Obsidian chuckled. "I was trying to y through a barn loft hatch and miscalculated my angle and climb and browse a wing. then the rest of body slamming into a bunch of tresses and supports.
Twilight and Snowflake talked for a few more hours and Twilight learned that Snowflake Obsidian knew more history than anyone she knew and that also included Starswirl himself.
