Bonus chapter one: Dancing the night away
The Ponyville gala was basically Ponyville's version of the grand galloping gala. Another name to call it was the Ponyville dance. Everyone in ponyville was invited to the dance. It didn't matter the class in the community you were, as long as you wanted to have a good time, you were welcomed to come and enjoy the festivities.
After the first grand galloping gala disaster they experienced, Twilight and the others thought that throwing their own dance would probably be a better time for them.
So, after speaking with mayor mare, getting help from some of the local vendors with food, and hiring vinyl scratch for the music, the first annual Ponyville gala was finally ready to go!
Twilight was walking past Spike, Rainbow dash, and Rarity when she remembered that the Ponyville gala was tonight. She'll have to question why Rarity and Rainbow dash were acting like they were his dates later. Right now, she decided to poof over to the castle, and get ready quickly.
It was six p.m., and the guests were already arriving to the gala. Their were enough tables and chairs to accommodate everypony at the dance. Including a big one for Twilight, the main six, and of course Spike as well.
There was also a big dance floor for dancing, a buffet full of food, restrooms at the far side of the gala, even some party games made for the occasion by Pinkie pie.
Spike looked around as Twilight gave the speech about the dance. He was surprised on how big they went on the ponyville gala. What also surprised him, was the way the founders table, as arranged. From Twilight's right, was Fluttershy, Pinkie pie, and one pouting Applejack and a awkward Thunderlane next to her.
But the most surprising thing to Spike, was the arrangement to the left of Twilight. Rainbow was in the seat next to her, Rarity was in the far left, and Spike was in the middle.
But, unlike their right-sided neighbors, Rainbow's and Rarity's seat were surprisingly close to the violet dragon's chair. As both mares sat close to him, enjoying the company of their dragon, and seeing Applejack have a awkward time with her ex stallion friend.
Twilight was looking to her right after her speech, she then pouted a bit as she thought 'Ugh, why are they latching on to my dragon like that?!'
Twilight then sighed as she thought 'Why am I still thinking this? I know his older now and all, but...I just wanna cuddle with him on the couch and have him be mine.'
After a hour of talking and playing some party games Pinkie had on hoof, it was time for Vinyl scratch to play the music for the Dance.
Of course, Twilight wasn't looking forward for the dance, since her dance skills were not the best. Luckily, Spike saw her distress as whispers to Rarity and Rainbow dash and says "Hey, I know you two wanted to know who would have the first dance with me, but..."
Rarity and Rainbow dash looked at Twilight and looked at Spike, having a idea what he was asking them. Surprisingly, it was Rainbow dash responded with a smile first and said "It's ok Spike. Go and bail her out. I'll just have the second dance with you, ok?"
She then winked at him as it made him blush as Rarity then said "And I'll have the third dance then. While I am annoyed that Rainbow called ahead for our first dance, I am proud of you for choosing to help Twilight and coming to her aid. Such a gentledragon!"
She and Rainbow quickly nuzzled Spike as he got up and walked over to Twilight. Ready to help her. Kick off the first dance of the night.
Twilight was nervous as she wasn't exactly excited to dance here. During the last grand galloping gala, she just hung around princess Celestia and enjoyed her company.
Now, she's hosting her own gala. And she was really nervous about doing the first dance of the gala. But also, she was worried WHO was gonna dance with her. She didn't want to dance with any random pony. They would have to be special to her. To make it the night so memorable.
Twilight then felt a familiar tap on her shoulder as she looked down and saw Spike looking up, nervous to ask her something. "Um, T-Twilight? I-I was wondering. If -y-you don't have somepony to dance with...c-can I have your first dance?"
Twilight saw Spike's blush on his face, and began to felt a familiar beating in her heart. She quickly looked at Rarity and Rainbow dash who nod at her. Silently telling her to go for it. She then looked at Spike, and gave a blushing smile back as she said "I would love you to be my first dance Spike."
They walked over to the dance floor, as vinyl played the first track of the gala.
As the music began to play, Spike took Twilight by her hoofs and began to slow dance with her. As Twilight began to blush as she read the atmosphere in the dance floor. It felt less like a royal first dance, and more like a private dance with her oldest friend. As the lyrics of the song echoed how she felt.
I know we've been friends forever, but now I think I'm feeling something totally new. And after all this time, I opened up my eyes. Now I see, you were always with me!
Twilight then realized that for a long time, Spike had always been by her side for so long. She finally realizes why Spike never felt like family to her, yet more then a friend to her. She was always in love with him.
Could it be you & I, Never imagined. Could it be, suddenly, I'm fallin' for you? Could it be, you were right here beside me, and I never knew. Could it be, that it's true, that It's you. That it's you.
As they danced, Spike didn't need words to know what she was feeling. He always felt that the two of them were more then friends.
But then realized thay this feeling, was the exact same as he feels for Rainbow dash and Rarity. Did he have feelings for all three of them? Well, he'd worry about that later. For now, he was enjoying this moment.
It's kinda funny you were always near, But who would ever thought we'd end up here. And everytime I need you, you've been there for me. But now it's clear, I've been waiting for you.
As a tear of happiness fell from both of them, they felt like the world disappeared from the both of them. It was just a alicorn and her dragon, together against the world. But they were both happy, since they had each other in their arms.

Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie pie looked at the dance floor, and saw Spike and Twilight lost in each other's eyes. All saying "Awwww" as they watched in silence at the beautiful moment.
Cause today is the start of the rest of our lives. I can see it in your eyes. And it's real, and it's true. It's just me and you. Could it be, that it's you!
Rarity and Rainbow dash looked at the dance floor and smiled as Rainbow dash asked "You know Rare, I know we just wanted for US to be with Spike, but..."
"You wanna add Twilight into the herd? I was thinking the same thing darling. It's obvious she's madly in love with him, just like us. We'll have to discuss this with her another time."
"Yeah, I agree. For now, I want my slow dance with our drake." Rainbow dash said as a blush creeped up her face as she faced the dance floor.
Rarity also sported the same blush and said, "Me too darling. Our perfect night has only just began."

As the song faded away, Spike and Twilight rubbed the other's eyes dry as everypony in attendance clapped in Applause at the wonderful slow dance.
After half a hour, another slow dance played as Rainbow dash walked up to Spike and said "Come on Romeo~ show me those dance skills on the dance floor."
Spike then was gently dragged by Rainbow dash to the dance floor, as tango music started to play. And to Spike's surprise, a rose had suddenly appeared in Rainbow's mouth. Spike had a feeling this would be interesting, as the two of them danced the tango for the whole gala.
Twilight, instead of sitting in her sit, she was signaled by Rarity to sit next to her so they can talk. "So darling, did you enjoy your romantic slow dance with Spike?"
Twilight blushed as she replayed the moment in her mind. "M-Maybe. It felt like I was in a fariy tale! And Spike was my prince! It was wonderful."
Rarity giggled. Seeing the princess of friendship in a love sick state similar to her own and Rainbow's. "Well darling. I know I like Spike, Rainbow dash likes Spike, and obviously you like him too. What do you say about making it...official?"
Twilight blushed, but also nodded in excitement, as she said "Oh Rarity, yes! I want Spike in my life! Even if I have to share him, I'm just glad it's with best friends like you and Rainbow dash."
They watched Rainbow dash and Spike dance the tango as they discussed about the future. Smiling at the potential of a happy future together.

(Applejack's P.O.V)
Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like everypony is against you? Welp, that's how my day feels like. I just came back from Cantrlot, seeing the princess on an important matter.
A crime had been committed by a mare I thought I could trust. Rarity bell, a mare I knew since our filly days, tried to take me a bath by force!
It was unbearable. The hard scrubbing, the perfume soap she used, and the worse part of it? She had the moxie to do ALL of this in the middle of town! It was humiliating! I'm a country filly, not one of those stuck-up mares in Cantrlot! I have chores to do and a farm to run! I can't worry about getting clean all the time!
Besides, getting dirty is not only how you show you're a hard worker, but you feel mighty accomplished about your work too. Though, to be honest, it does get a bit itchy at times.
Still, Rarity did me dirty by humiliating me out there, and Rainbow dash had the nerve to laugh at me while I was getting washed against my will! Even Twilight had given her a pardon to do this!
But thank Celestia, I saw the beautiful mud puddle on the ground and got a temporary coat of mud back. But more importantly, I got revenge on the two of them for being a couple of Snakes in the grass.
I got off the train from Cantrlot after asking Princess Celestia to arrest them and Twilight for getting me clean without my consent. She said they would "consider" it. But I knew what it meant. She wasn't gonna do anything to her "Precious student."
Well, I'm not concerned about Rarity or Rainbow dash anymore since I already paid them back. Twilight on the hoof was the last pony I needed to get revenge on.
I then walked up to that crystal castle of hers, knocked at the door, and waited for her to open the door and let her have it. The door finally opened, and I shook the mud off me like Winona after a bath!
Finally got the mud off and...oh. Oh dear.
(Normal P.O.V)
Spike's eyes slowly opened and began to process everything that happened in the past minute. He was in his room, trying on the tuxs Rarity made for him a while back, he heard the knocking on the door, opened it, and saw Applejack spray him with a bunch of wet mud all over him.
Spike then looked all over him and saw the door covered in mud. But that wasn't the worst part. That would be him getting covered with mud all over himself. His scales her dirty and getting in the in-between wages of his scales.
To make things worse, the tux he was wearing was completely ruined. Rarity had made it for him for the grand galloping gala a while back, and he was gonna wear it to the ponyville dance. He didn't have a date to the dance, but he still wanted to have fun with Twilight regardless.
Now his plans were completely ruined, and he saw the mare responsible for it. "Applejack, what the buck is wrong with you?!"
Applejack gulped in guilt. She admittedly didn't mean to target Spike like that. She then immediately apologized as she said "Sorry Spike. Didn't mean to spray YOU with mud. Have you seen Twilight around? That was my real target."
Spike, who was still VERY crossed with Applejack, said coldly, "She's not here. She's with Pinkie pie and Fluttershy on a friendship mission in the Crystal Empire."
Applejack, feeling the cold glare from Spike, was about to apologize again when he then pushed past her and ran from the castle. Clearly hurt from the prank. Her head then hanged low as she slowly walked back to the farm.
Meanwhile, at Carousel boutique, an annoyed Rainbiw dash, wearing her special spa robe, waited at near the entrance for Rarity. After her attempt to get Applejack clean backfired and her getting caught in the crossfire, she made Rarity promise a spa day to make it up to her.
However, Rarity wanted to grab HER special robe for the spa as well and was having a hard time finding it in her closet. "Argh, hurry up, Rarity! I feel the mud drying on my coat as we speak!"
Rainbow dash didn't seem like it, but she detested getting dirty. She knew it was a part of life, but Pegasui was more triggered about getting dirty for a number of reasons. One. Their wings needed to be cleaned for proper flight. Otherwise, it would be too dangerous to fly for them.
Two. Showmanship was a key part of a Pegasus. Especially when it came to attracting a mate. While Rainbow dash didn't have a mate of her own yet, she DID have somepony in mind for the role.
"Just a minute, darling! I'm trying to get enough bits for the both of us!" Rarity said from her bedroom, going through her purse for enough bits for the spa.
Rainbow dash grunted as she heard a knock on the door. "Rainbow,darling? Can you get the door for me? And if it's a customer, tell them I'm closed for the day." Rarity asked politely as she got ready.
Rainbow dash walked over to the door and opened it, prepared to tell whoever it was to scram. She looked down and saw Spike. Covered in mud and trying to hold back tears. Rainbow's heart cracked when she saw him like this. "Spike, what happened?"
"Spike?!" Rarity came downstairs, ready to go, when she saw Spike in the same state. Her heart broke as she ran over and inspected him. The suit he wore to the gala was ruined, and he was covered in mud. "Darling, what happened?"
"*sniff* Applejack played a dumb prank and covered me in mud entirely. I was all set for the dance tomorrow, and now...*sniff*" Spike said in a sadden tone. I'm still upset about what she did.
"She did WHAT?!" Rainbow dash said in an angry shout. Clearly upset at Applejack's actions.
Rarity was also upset hearing this, as well as she said, "I know Applejack is probably salty for her much needed bath, but that NO excuse for such a cruel prank!"
Spike looked at Rarity sadly as he saw her get angry and said, "I-I'm sorry I got the suit dirty. I-I-"
"Spike, there's no need to apologize. A suit can be replaced. But not your comforting smile." Rarity said while nuzzling his left cheek. "R-Rarity, you're gonna get -"
"It's alright, Spike. A little mud doesn't hurt if it makes you feel better." Rainbow dash said, nuzzling his right cheek akin to Rarity.
"G-Girls." Spike said in embarrassment. Blushing as both mares were nuzzling him as Rainbow dash said, "I know I don't show my girly side offen since I'm awesome and all...but with you Spike, I'm comfortable with it. As long as you and Rarity can keep this a secret."
Rarity giggled at the thought and said, "Oh, of course, darling. I know you have an image to hold up, but that's no reason you can't lower your gurad when it's just your friends, right?"
Rainbow dash smiled at the thought and said, "Yeah, I don't mind acting all gushy with you guys at times."
After a few more seconds, Rarity then moved from Spike and then gave scowled expression as she said, "Darlings, I believe some payback is in order, don't you think?"
Rainbow dash gave a smirk as he said, "Count me in! You know how long it takes to clean my feathers?! You bet there's Tartarus to pay!"
Spike then gave an evil smirk, as the thought of revenge was too tempting to resist as he said, "...hehehe, I'm game. Maybe we can help her get ready for the dance tomorrow."
Rainbow dash and Rarity sprouted their own evil smirks as well, knowing what he had in mind. "Brilliant darling! I didn't know our young dragon was such an evil genius~ Spikey wikey, Rainbow, I think this calls for an evil laugh. Laugh with me, darlings! Haaah ha ha ha ha ha!"
"Hah hahahahaha!"
"Mwah hahahahaha!"
"... But let's start tomorrow, darlings. I think all three of us need a trip to the spa."
The three of them went to the spa and enjoyed a nice and relaxing time together.
Rarity was enjoying the spa's wonderful bath, and Rainbow dash was enjoying a nice wing combing. While Spike was enjoying a detailed scale cleaning to get the mud off. He hadn't enjoyed one of these in a long time. The last time he wanted one, Twilight tried to do it for him...he lost a lot of scales that day and couldn't go out for two weeks.
Spike then looked at Rainbow dash as she felt a sore spot on her back. He felt bad for her and wanted to help. Plus, he does not know a thing or two on messages when trying to help Twilight relax.
Spike waddled over, grabbed a step stoll, and found the sore spot quickly as Rainbow's wings shot as she gave a "Oooooh! Ahhhh... that's it. Spike, you didn't have to -"
"Hey, if I can help the most awesome and gorgeous Pegasus out there, that's good enough for me."
Spike didn't notice Rainbow's face, but she blushed from the praise he gave. She wasn't a stranger from compliments from fans. But from Spike, she practically melted from the dragon's words. "Spike..."
'Oh Spike... That's it. I can't deny it anymore. I'm head over hoofs for Spike. I mean, how COULD I not? He's just as awesome as no, even more awesome than me! He's kind, brave, funny, and just awesome to be around! Once the revenge pranks on A.J is done, I wanna show Spike how awesome I think he is.'
After the massage, Spike joined Rarity for a mud mask and hoofacure. For Spike, this meant getting his claws done, which he enjoyed very much.
What caught his attention though was Rarity front hoofs. She was rubbing them like they were sore. So, while waiting for Blossom and Aloe, Spike got up and asked "Do you want a hoof massage before your hoofacure? It'll probably hurt less after the massage."
Rarity shook her head as she said "That's sweet of you Spike, but you don't have to do that. This is suppose to be a relaxing trip for you too. Don't go running yourself ragged for us."
"But helping my friends dose make me feel good. And your hoofs look sore too. It'll hurt when they bring the file out. Trust me, I know that pain. Besides, a gentledragon always helps a lady in need after all."
Rarity was that she said the mud mask on as she was blushing heavily by his words. 'So Chivalrous. Oh Spikey-wikey, why didn't see it before? Your the perfect gentlecolt-err-Gentledrake- I've been waiting for. Chivalrous, kind, respectful, honorable, funny. Oh Spike, Once all this with Applejack is done, I'm gonna make up for all the lost time we missed. You'll see."W-Well...I suppose if a gentledrake like yourself is offering, then..."
She let out her hoof, and Spike began to massage it gently. Rarity lost herself in the tender massage as she felt bliss cover her body.
After their relaxing spa trip, Rarity then suggested, "Darling, why don't you stay at my place tonight? I know it would be scary to stay alone while Twilight is gone, and having somepony around will be a bit safer."
Rainbow dash nodded as she said "And I'll stay with you to protect you! Any stinkin' pony who try to harm you will have to go through me first!"
Rarity suddenly then acted brave and said "And that gose double for me! I won't let them harm a single scale on you Spike. We'll protect you tonight." The two mares hoof bumped as they headed for Carousel boutique.
Once they got home, Rarity brought Spike to her bedroom and cuddled with him on his left side, while Rainbow dash snuggled on his right. The two mares surprised him by kissing both his cheeks and saying "Goodnight Spikey."
Spike blushed as he fell asleep, resting for the revenge prank tomorrow, while Rainbow Dash and Rarity smiled, hugging their caring dragon.
The next morning, Spike, Rainbow dash, and Rarity began to plot their revenge on Applejack. Bigger and cleaner then last time.
The plan of course, was simple. Lure Applejack away from the farm, all the way to a unassuming location, and then scrub her without mercy.
However, picking a location proved harder then they thought, as they needed a location that will not tear down their efforts almost immediately.
Eventually, they had the perfect route to lead Applejack to their trap. And they were ready to spring it.
Applejack was going about her usual chores on the farm. Working the field, cleaning the barn, bucking apple trees, the usual chores she said.
However, as she saw working, the guilt she said for her actions yesterday kept eating her since yesterday. She didn't mean for Spike to be the target pf her revenge. She'd do anything to make it up to him.
However, just as she felt a breeze come in the barn, she noticed something was missing on her head. "W-What in tarnation?! Where's my hat?!"
"Looking for something farmgirl?" Applejack turned around and spotted where the taunt came from. It was none other then Rainbow dash, wearing the missing hat.
Applejack was crossed, and wasn't in the mood for a prank. "Rainbow dash...give me my hat back, and I WON'T get your feathers ruffled, got it?"
All Rainbow dash did was show a cheeky smirk and said "You want it? Come and get it!" She then took off in a blue blur as Applejack grinded her teeth and said "GET BACK HERE YOU RAINBOW-COLORED VARMINT!!!" Applejack took off in a fury after Rainbow dash, as they traveled quite a bit.
Meanwhile, in Carousel boutique, Spike and Rarity prepared the tub for the show room, packing away all the dresses she had on display for the day. Rarity stared at Spike in a dreamy stare. 'Oh, how is Spikey-wikey so attentive to our needs?'
She mind started to travel back to her conversation last night with Rainbow dash, making her blush at the thought.
*Flashback*
Rarity had gotten up to get a midnight snack and to think about her feelings for a certain dragon as she noticed a certain Rainbow mane already in the refrigerator. "Ahem."
Rainbow dash then looked up and saw Rarity looking at her as she asked "Rainbow, darling. What are you doing?"
"I was looking for a snack. I thought it would help me sleep better, you know?" Rainbow dash said as she continued to look in the fridge for food. "I guess your down here for the same thing?"
"Believe it or not, yes. I do get midnight cravings sometimes. I have apples in the bottom left drawer. Will that do?" Rarity said, pointing where the apples were.
Rainbow dash opened the drawer and nodded as she said "Well that's ironic. We're about to eat some apples before we clean a big apple tomorrow."
"Hehe, I suppose I can see the irony behind that." Rarity said as she grabbed on apple with her magic and walked over to her dining table and said "Actually Rainbow dear, I did want to talk to you about something now that Spike isn't here."
Rainbow dash was surprised by the request as she sat on the chair. "Ok, what's up? What is it you wanna talk about?"
"Well, it's no secret that Spike has a crush on me. Try as he might, he can't keep his feelings hidden very well." Rarity said, already blushing over his cute attempts to impress her.
Rainbow dash began to feel annoyed by this already as she said bitterly, "Yeah, no kidding."
"Now now darling, no need to act bitter." Rarity said, trying to keep the situation from going wrong. "I also have recently noticed that Spike has been oogling at you for a while now too. The way you move your hips helps too you know."
Rainbow dash blushed in embarrassment as she said "I-I can't help it. That's the way I walk. Wait, are you saying that...Spike has a crush on me?" She asked as her blush deepened.
"No doubt about it darling. He's smitten on the both of us, the sweetie." Rarity blushed at the thought. Which was bad timing as Rainbow spotted it and said "Wait...you DO like him back, don't you?"
Rarity eyes shrunk and her blush was even more as she said "*Sigh*. I suppose it's only right that you know...Yes. I DO like him back. No, I'm in love with him. I've been a fool for not seeing it earlier."
Rainbow dash then looked curious as she asked in a surprisingly mature tone. "When Did you start having feelings for him?"
"I suppose it was before his 13th birthday, When he gave me his fire ruby. I still feel bad for basically manipulating him into giving it to me. I still think the thought it was sweet of him to do. After his party however, when he turned into a giant dragon, I saw him revert back to normal. His love for me made him fight his dragon instants and return to normal. I suppose that's when I fell for him. Both figuratively and literally, hehe."
Rainbow dash smiled as Rarity glowed in love and happiness, visiting memory lane. Rarity then asked "So, when did YOU fell for our dragon then,darling?"
Rainbow dash blushed as she started to panic a bit as she said "H-How did you-"
"Darling, it's obvious. I saw you melting from Spike's praise for you during your massage at the spa. And wanting to sleep over to protect him? That's a grade-A class of love struck darling! Don't worry, I won't tell. But I do wanna know when they started to form." Rarity asked in glee. Wanting to know when her speedy friend fell in love.
Rainbow dash sighed, knowing there was no way to change the subject with Rarity. She then explained, "Well, I think is was around the time where he took my place as the element of loyalty. Honestly, I was kinda shocked by it AND how he stuck by Twilight during one of her darkest hours. It...it really impressed me."
Rainbow dash blushed as she began to walk down memory lane as she also brought up, "There was also that the time where we followed Spike on the dragon migration and he stood up to Garble and his gang to protect the Phoenix egg. While in our disguise, I might have blushed seeing him standing to those bullys."
"That dose explain why you looked red when we came out of the costume. But I don't blame you darling. He was rather gallant against those brutes." Rarity commented on his actions back then.
Rainbow dash nodded and continued her explanation, "Well, I think that what made me fall for him was when he saved the crystal empire. He risked his own well being against Sombra and saved that whole empire. In saving the crystal heart...he also won my heart."
Rarity then sniffed as she dried her tears away and said "That was sweet darling." She then said confidently "So, let's review. You like Spike. And I like Spike. Two mares who are best friends like the same drake. Kinda of a pickie for most, hmm?"
Rainbow dash looked confused as she said "Umm, Rare, what are you suggesting?"
Rarity smiled as she plainly said "Darling, I AM the element of generosity Rainbow. And I'm suggesting that we share Spike!"
"S-Share Spike?! I-I don't know if I'm...you know...ready to confess yet." Rainbow dash said in a nervous tone, worried about what Spike would say.
"Rainbow, I know your scared. Believe me, I'm frightened too." Rarity said in a sympathetic tone. Scared of Spike's response too. "
"So...what do we do?"
"Simple darling. We get closer to him, and in the future, we'll confess our love to him and get married one day."
"M-Married?!" Rainbow dash blushed as she imagined herself in a wedding dress on Spike's side and Rarity on the otherside.
"Now darling, all that can wait for another time, for now, I think Spike could a reward for helping us pull this prank off." Rarity said
Rainbow dash then smirked, saying "Oh, and I have an idea that'll make him the envy of every colt in ponyville."
*End of Flashback*
Rarity giggled at what Rainbow dash had planned, as the tub, soap and scrubbers were ready for Applejack's revenge bath.
"HA HA, YOU CAN'T CATCH ME, APPLE SMACK!"
"Oh my, Rainbow's almost here. Quick Spike, hide."
Spike and Rarity hid as they heard Rainbow dash and Applejack close by, waiting to anbush her in the tub.
Rainbow dash landed on the ground as she ran inside. Smirking as she thought, 'That's right Applejack. Take the bait.'
She quickly hid behind the wall as she saw Applejack run inside as she said "Rainbow! Where are you?! You sneaky varmint! This is low of you to pull!"
Applejack ran to the showroom as Rainbow dash put her one of her back legs out and tripped Applejack, sending her to the air.
*Applejack's P.O.V*
As I flew in the air, the only thing I saw on the way down was a tub of cold water. Dang Rainbow dash! Should've known you and Rarity teamed up against me. Ya couple of snakes!
I was blinded by water when I saw Rarity and Rainbow dash smirking like a couple of snickering hyenas. I then heard a a third snicker to the right of me. I turned to the right and saw...Spike?! W-What is he...I suppose I can't blame him for teaming up with these two. After all, I DID do him dirty yesterday. I'll make it up to him one day, but for now, I'm stuck in a three way trap with no way out.
And there i was. Getting scrubbed and bathed like no tomorrow. Rainbow and Rarity were scrubbing my coat, while Spike scrubbed my mane and tail. I kept flailing and whaling for help, but nopony showed up. So, I was at the mercy of these bath causing varmints.
I smelled the perfume soap they were using as I tried to squirm out of there. But like last time, Rarity's magic was too strong. And it didn't help that she had the others scrubbing me down.
The more they scrubbed, the more of my proud dirt on my coat was washed off. It was a faith worse then death. And this time, there was no mud for salvation.
Finally, what felt like forever, I was finally out and dried off. I smelled...like apples? That was strange, I could have swore Rarity used that fancy soap on me. "Wait...why do I still smell like apples?"
"Well, last time, I used my cantrlot soap to prove a point. But now~ we have a different idea." I gulped at what Rarity said. A feeling of dread washed over me as she and Rainbow dash brought out...oh no. "Noo! No! You all are NOT putting that fru fru dress on me!"
This time, Rainbow dash was smirking as she said "Well, you have to look your best for the dance...AND for your date~"
Date? Who did Rainbow dash get for me as a..."Oh no! You didn't, you couldn't!"
I was in denial as all Rainbow dash did was nod. "YOU DID NOT SET ME UP WITH THUNDER LANE!!!"
I then spotted that evil grin on her face that confirmed my doom. Me and Thunderlane used to date back in the day. We parted on good terms due to us not clicking as a couple. We're still friends and all, but the awkward situation we'll have at the dance will be the worse!
*That night*
*Normal P.O.V
The ponyville dance was about to get underway. Everypony had a date to the dance. Even the reluctant Applejack with her awkward date. Turns out Thunderlane was only there because Rainbow dash payed him to be there.
Spike, however, was not at the dance. He was at the castle of friendship, sitting in the library all alone. He was glad to get back at Applejack for what happened yesterday, but that didn't change the fact that his night was ruined.
*knock knock* a knock was heard at the door as Spike got up to answer it. Maybe it was Twilight, back from the crystal empire? He opened the door and saw a unbelievable sight. It was Rarity, in a stylish black evening gown. She blinked slowly as she said "Why good evening Spike."
"R-Rarity?! W-What are you doing here? I thought you would be at the dance with your date by now."
"Well...I WAS on my way to the dance, when I remembered that your tuxs was ruined yesterday. So, last night, I took the spare tuxs I had and adjusted it to fix your current size. It seems you grown since the grand galloping gala."
Rarity said in a slightly teasing tone as she pulled out the new tux. But it was a bit different then before. It was dashed with emerald dust and had a purple under shirt in the suit. "Put it on darling. I wanna see you in it!"
Spike went up stairs to try the tux and came down stairs to Rarity as she blushed and said "Oh my Spikey-wikey, your so hoofsome and dashing in that tuxs."
Spike smiled as he said "Thanks Rarity. It was real nice of you to drop this off while on your way to the dance with your date and all."
Rarity looked confused as she said "Date? I haven't picked up my date yet."
Spike looked confused as he asked "Oh. I thought that-"
"But I guess now a good time to pick up my date." Rarity then used her magic to pick up Spike and hugged him, saying "Spike? Would you like to be our date to the dance tonight?"
Spike blinked as he processed what just happened. Rarity was asking him to be their date. He then looked confused and asked "Wait, "our date"? Who's gonna-"
"Hey guys." A Rainbow blur then flew in and landed gracefully next to Spike. Spike saw that she was wearing similar dress to Rarity, except it was red instead of black, and she had her mane in a bun. She nuzzled Spike's cheek as she said "Is our date ready to go Rare?"
Spike looked even more confused as she said, "What is going on here?"
Rarity giggled as she explained, "Well darling. Me and Rainbow dash wanted all three of us, after the successful pranking on Applejack, deserve a night on the town! So, we thought at we can celebrate at the dance."
Rainbow dash smiled as she said "Well Spike? Wanna go to the dance with two hot and gorgeous mares tonight?"
Spike smiled and teared up and he hugged the both of them and said "I love too! Thank you girls! You made me the happiest dragon in equestria right now!"
Rarity and Rainbow blushed as they returned the hug and headed to the dance.
On the path to the castle, Twilight was exhausted as she, Pinkie pie, and Fluttershy barley arrived back to ponyville from their friendship mission as Twilight sighed and said "So tired...I really hope that Spike made dinner so-"
She stopped mid sentences as she saw Rarity, Rainbow dash, and Spike walking by, all dressed up and heading to the dance. She then looked at the reader and said "...What just happened?"

One month later
As Ponyville was going about their day, Applejack was at the market, who was surprisingly clean this time, was selling her apples to her customers.
Recently, though, more and more customers have been coming to her stand as of late, and they've noticed Applejack's smell. Her new apple smell was attractive for her customers , and sales have increased by several folds.
The secret? The next after the dance, Applejack asked about soap they used on her. And she was surprised at what she heard. "Darling, I know you're not a fan of my personal soap. So, I asked for some special apple scented soap to keep your signature apple scent,...without all the gram and gunk you get on the farm. No offense, Darling."
Applejack then smelled the soap and liked the smell as she then looked at Rarity's normal soap and asked, "Rare, I appreciate ya taking me into consideration, but I have to ask. What kind of fancy soap do you use? It's really strong for my nose."
"Oh! That's my homemade brand of soap. I make my own because the scent I desire should be my own signature secnt. Just like how my fashion has its own signature style."
"Well... I got to ask ya. What KIND of scent are you using anyhow?"
Rarity giggled as she then gave a small look as she said, "Delicious gems~"
Applejack then snapped out of her flashback as she recalled what happened next. She then asked Rarity to order more of the soap if she promised to NEVER do that again. Rarity agreed and ordered more soup for her humbled friend.
Now, customers didn't have the disgusted look on their faces anymore, and they were willing to buy more apples and other products from her. 'You know, maybe being clean has its perks after all.'
She then was to close up shop, then a familiar voice rang out and said, "Hey A.J!" Applejack turned around and saw Spike in front of her stand. When she saw him, her mind immediately made her start apologizing, as her guilt was still there and stronger then ever.
"Spike! I'm awful sorry about my actions to you last mouth! I didn't mean to cover you in mud and ruined your tux! I should've let my anger get the best me like that, but can you forgive his silly little pony for her awful mistake? "
Spike was taken aback by her sudden apology. But it did make him feel good that she was willing to properly apologize to her as he says, "It's ok A.J. I forgave you long ago. I know you didn't mean it on purpose. Beside, we both got something out of this. Me and the girls got payback, and you got a coltfriend out of the prank."
Applejack blushed as she recalled her night at the Ponyville gala. She and Thunderlane were in an very awkward spot.
Thunderlane admitted that this wasn't ideal, but decided to talk to Applejack about their break up. He admitted that he wasn't exactly a gentlemen back then, and apologized for storming off and regretting not being talking it out with her.
Applejack looked back and admitted that she could've been more patient with him on that night and regretted her attitude toward him that day too.
To her surprise, he revealed that he still had feelings for her after all this time. He said if he could, he would treat her like a princess and even work on the farm as a farm hand.
Applejack was surprised, as she also still had lingering feeling for Thunderlane as well. The both of them kissed, as the two rekindled their love for each other. And danced the night away.
Applejack blushed during her daydream as she shook her head and asked "Umm, well, how was YOUR time during the Ponyville gala? Was it a fun time?"
Spike blushed as he recalled the gala from last month as he heard a heavenly familiar voice behind him as a pair of white hoofs covered his eyes. "Surprise, Spikey-wikey~"
Applejack blinked in surprise as she saw her oldest friend, cover Spike's eyes and gave him a love struck stare. Oh, she knew that look on her all too well. "Heh. So, ya are FINALLY together, are ya? It was about time if you asked me."
Rarity blushed at her best friends comment, panicked a bit as she said "W-What do you-"
"Rare, I've seen the hearts in your eyes. You've had dinner with him on multiple occasions, snuggled by the fire during winter, I've seen the secret shrine you made of Spike in your room."
Rarity blushed and panicked as Spike blushed like crazy after hearing this. "APPLEJACK! I told you that in confidence!"
Applejack gave a smug look as she felt proud of herself for getting a bit of payback on Rarity.
Spike, while embarrassed that Rarity had a shrine of him, wasn't weirded out by it. The ponys at the crystal empire had actually made a few of them in his honor after he helped save them.
Thankfully, the still awkward air was broken by loud far away yell, saying "Incoming!"
A rainbow blur came from the distance, as Spike, Rarity, and Applejack were about to jump for cover. Surprisingly, there wasn't a powerful gust of wind blowing them over. Instead, they saw Rainbow dash gracefully land in front of them.
"Hello darling, what a graceful entrance. Have you been practicing Rainbow dash?"
"Well, you know. Even a awesome pony like me can show some grace once in a while."
Rainbow dash then looked at Spike and gave a flirty smile. She walked walked up to him, who was blushing, and said "Hey there Romeo~ how are ya?"
Rainbow dash then kissed Spike on his left cheek as he blushed a bright red and said "I-I'm doing f-fine Dashie. Thanks."
Rarity giggled at the dragon's reaction as she then told Rainbow dash, "Now Rainbow, no need to fluster him just yet. We still need to wait-"
"For me?" Rarity jumped a bit as Twilight teleported behind her as she walked to Spike's right side and said "Thanks for waiting Spike. Your so sweet." She then kissed his right cheek, making his blush a brighter red.
Applejack then gave a confusing look as Rarity wrapped her forearms around Spike and said "Now that we're all here, I believe we're ready for our date, yes?" She then kissed Spike on his forehead as Spike's head blushed a deep red as he said "How am I the luckiest dragon ever?"
Rarity,Rainbow, and Twilight smiled at Spike's reaction as Applejack was lost and confused at the exchange that was happening. She then decided to ask "Hold on, what in tarnation is happening right now?! Why are all three of you acting all lovey-dovey with Spike all of a sudden. I mean, Rarity I get, But since when did Rainbow dash and Twilight had a crush on Spike?!" She looked at Spike's direction and said "No offense sugercube."
"None taken A.J."
Rarity then realized that what's been going on had been a secret to avoid any interruptions during dates. So she began to simply explain. "Well daring. I guess it'll be fine if your the first to know. You see, Spike, Rainbow dash, Twilight and I are...a herd. We're together now."
Applejack mouth hanged down as she heard the news. She's never seen a herd in real life, but has heard about them from Granny Smith.
In fact, she learned that Granny Smith was actually a part of a herd herself a few hundred years ago. But left with her parents when they wanted to spread the apple family name across equestria.
Now, she's having a idea. Would Thunderlane want to be a part of a herd? And who would she ask to join? Maybe Fluttershy and Pinkie pie would be a good idea since, even though their a couple, they probably wouldn't mind being in a herd if Applejack asked. She'll have to talk about that with them later on.
"Heh, Well I'll be. I never expected you four to be a herd together. But I'll admit. Yall are cuter together then a family of bunnies...who aren't Angel bunny."
They all laughed as Spike snuggled together with his three mare-friends, as they talked with Applejack and bought the last of her apples for lunch, as Spike planned to make dinner for his beautiful herd.
He smiled and looked at Applejack and Smiled at her. To think this all started because they got Applejack, to get clean.
