Introduction
I was just a filly when I was in Cloudsdale. So ordinarily I thought it was the best place in Equestria. I’m Flutter Shy and I’m a Pegasus. I was never one to go at anything, I normally stayed at home with my parents, FIy Shy and Butter Shy (originally called Butter Bean).
I had a sister named UniqueShy, because she had some of the most interesting things to say. I had a certain way of communicating, I would talk very softly, like mouse, which is why they nicknamed me “Squeak”.
This is my story
Chapter 1
“Squeaker! Unique! It’s time for school”, my parents called. Me and my sister both had different schools, she went Cloudsdale Elementary, and I went to....Junior Speedsters...
“C’mon, you don’t want to be late again!”, they yelled. Unique went rushing down the stairs... I walked slowly behind her. “Squeak, did you not get enough sleep?”, my dad asked.
“N..no”, I said with butterflies in my belly. “Well then, what’s wrong?”, my mother asked.
“I’m... Fine”, I answered, “Shy girl, I know something’s wrong with you?”, she replied.
“I...”, before I could finish, the bus came. I walked out the door with my head down.
“Fly, should we really send her?”, I heard mother say. “She’s a Pegasus dear, she has to learn.”, he replied. I walked into the bus without saying a word. I didn’t know anyone in my school, so I was on my own...
“Hey look, it’s FlutterCan’tFly!”, one of the girls said. “You’ll never be a REAL Pegasus, you’re pathetic!”, another girl said. “Aww, is Fwutter Shy gonna cry, what a baby!”, all the kids pointed and laughed at me. I kept thinking to myself, don't cry, don’t cry you’re almost there!
As I arrived at school I was making my way off the bus and one of the girls pushed me off, “What’s the matter FlutterCan’tFly, you can’t walk either?” The girls laughed at me as I ran towards the school.
Chapter 2
As I got there I ran towards my class as fast as I could, but as I did somepony tripped me, it was Violet Shine. The meanest, toughest, and most talented girl in the Junior Speedsters.
“Oh FlutterCan’tFly, you forget to run as well? HAHAHAHA! You are such a wuss, I can’t believe you were allowed in this camp! You… Are... A… EMBARRASSMENT!”
I got up as fast as I could and ran away, I found the janitors closet, closed the door, and began to cry... I don’t know how long I was in there, but I couldn’t face being insulted.
Then I heard knocking from the outside…
I sniffed up my tears and unlocked the door.
“What are you doing in here?”, she said.
I sniffed once more.
“ Nothing.”, I said as a tear fell down my cheek.
“Hey, come here.”, she said as she hugged me.
“What’s wrong?”
“No one likes me!”, I said while I was crying.
“I like you...”, she said.
I looked up and said, “R..Really?”
“Yeah! You seem cool, I like cool!”, she answered with certainty.
“Wha… What’s your name?”, I asked softly.
“Rainbow Dash.”, she replied.
Chapter 3
“You’re a very beautiful pony, I love rainbows.”, I said.
“Oh, thank you.”, she said, “C’mon we have to go back to class.”
I felt as if I was transported to the janitors closet.
“I can’t go in there, I’ll cry, and everyone will call me a foal.”, I said as I began crying again.
“What class are you in?”, she asked.
“Mrs... Chestnut”, I hesitated.
“NO WAY! I’m in there TOO!”, she said with joy.
“Don’t worry, if they make fun of you, I’ll end it!”
“Okay..”
“That’s the spirit!”, she said feeling proud, “Now let’s get to class!”
We arrived to the classroom.
When I saw the ponies there I hid to the left side of the door.
“I can’t do it!”, I shouted.
“What do you mean you can’t do it?”, she asked with frustration.
“I’m too scared.”, I answered feeling terrified.
“Flutter Shy? Is that you?”
“Oh no.”, I said hearing Mrs. Chestnut.
“Ms. Shy? What are you doing out here?”
“Uhh… She couldn’t find her way so I helped her.”, Rainbow Dash said.
“That’s very kind of you Ms. Dash.”, she said,
“C’mon in you too.”
I proceeded to walk slowly.
Chapter 4
“Take your seat Ms. Shy.”, she said with a kind voice.
I looked around and found my seat, the whole time I was constantly harassed by Violet Shine. I wanted to leave so much, but I couldn’t risk being in trouble. The school bell rang and I left the classroom.
On the way, Violet was following me and insulting me. I couldn’t take it and was wondering if I was on my own again.
Then, from out of nowhere I heard a loud bang.
“DON’T EVER MAKE FUN OF HER AGAIN”
I turned around and it was Rainbow Dash! She had her pinned on the lockers.
“I’M SICK OF YOU BEATING ON OTHER PONIES LIKE FLUTTER SHY, SO SHE ISN’T THE BEST FLYER. WHO CARES! YOU COULDN’T BEAT ME IN A FLYING CONTEST OR.... AN INSULT CONTEST!”
My eyes widened as I heard her say that.
“YOU THINK YOU’RE SOMETHING VIOLET, YOU’RE NOTHING! YOU’RE THE EMBARRASSMENT TO NOT ONLY PEGASUS, BUT ALL OF EQUESTRIA!”
Violet’s eyes were shocked and almost... Sad?
“YOU ARE NOT EVEN TOUGH. YOU TELL PONIES THEY’RE WUSSES! THEY’RE NOT THE ONE’S WHO HAVE FRIENDS GANG UP ON SOMEPONY!
FACE IT! IF I WAS FACING YOU IN A FIGHT! I’D BEAT YOU WITH BOTH HOOVES BEHIND MY BACK AND BEAT YOU WITH MY WINGS!!”
“OH AND I KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON’T KNOW.”
“No don’t say it! Please! Okay, okay, I’m sorry FlutterCa- Flutter Shy!”
I couldn’t believe it. The meanest Pegasus ever, begging for my apology!
Chapter 5
“Are you truly sorry Violet?!”, Dash said.
“Yes yes I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Please don’t tell them!”
Violet was so scared she was on the ground hugging on Rainbow’s legs, crying and begging.
“Violet’s score for the fly meter.”
“NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, PLEASE!”
Tears were flooding out of her eyes,
even though I hated her, I felt like she learned enough of a lesson.
“IT’S…”
“Rainbow Dash stop!”, I yelled.
Both Rainbow Dash and Violet looked at me with surprise,
and Rainbow Dash said,
“....2.5%”
My jaw dropped.
Violet was on the floor crying and wouldn’t stop.
I walked over to her. Put my hoof around her, and tried to comfort her
I looked at Rainbow Dash and said,
“Remind you of anyone!”
Rainbow Dash still didn’t know what she did, and she walked away.
I didn’t know how to feel, my hooves around my enemy. I just don’t know.
Chapter 6
“I’M RUINED, MY LIFE IS OVER! NO ONE WILL WANT TO BE WITH ME ANYMORE!”
She began crying again.
I had no idea that she would get this mentally depressed over the fly meter.
“I have nothing now...”
I ducked my head down.
“You...”, Violet said.
“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! I TEASE YOU WITH REMARKS THAT BARELY DO ANYTHING! AND THIS STUPID BITCH RAINBOW DASH GOES AND RUINS MY LIFE!”
“But… I…”
“DON’T EVEN TALK TO ME! YOU HAVE DESTROYED ME! I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY YOU INSECURE, MINDLESS, HELPLESS, LITTLE CUNT!”
I began to tear up.
“YOU THINK I CARE IF YOU CRY, YOU THINK I CARE IF YOU’RE HURT!
I WOULDN’T CARE IF YOU DIED RIGHT NOW FLUTTER SHY! YOU’LL FEEL THE PAIN THAT I’M FEELING RIGHT NOW!”
“It wasn’t m...”
“GET OUT OF MY FACE!”
She slapped me.
I collapsed on the floor, holding my forelegs over my head,
...Then she left.
I proceeded to walk to my next class... With hoof print and all…
Chapter 7
I went to my locker to get my things,
…Then out of nowhere,
“MAN DID YOU SEE THAT!”, Rainbow Dash said, “I TOLD YOU I’D BE THERE FOR YOU! BROHOOF!”
“...No”
“Wait, WHAT! Why not?”, she asked surprised.
“You don’t know what you’ve done.”
“Uh… I think I just got rid of your problems, you should have a better attitude!
...What’s that on your cheek.”
“It’s nothing”
Her expression was the equivalent to a bull ready to charge,
“...Who did this?”
“It doesn’t matt...”
“DON’T GIVE ME THAT CRAP! WHO DID THIS!”
“Promise you won’t go after her.”, I said.
“I promise.”
“Violet Shine…”, I answered uneasily.
“...Speaking of which.”
“Rainbow Dash, you promised!”, I shouted with force.
“My wing was crossed.”
Chapter 8
“HEY VIOLET!”
Violet was running as fast as she could... But Rainbow Dash caught up.
“You like hoof prints Violet?”, Rainbow Dash said with authority.
“Please... Don’t touch me!”
“HOW ABOUT I GIVE YOU ONE OF YOUR OWN!”, she said.
“NOOOO!”
I jumped in front of her,
and received the slap from Rainbow Dash…
Rainbow Dash's eyes lit up, and I dropped to the ground.
“Flutter Shy! Flutter Shy, wake up!”, she screamed with sorrow.
I was unconscious,
when I woke up I was back home.
“Wha... What am I doing home?”, I asked out loud.
“Easy ShyGirl, you had a bit of knockout!”, my mother said.
“How… How’d I get here?”, I asked confused.
“This young filly brought you here, she says she knows you.”, my father said.
“Did you almost die?”, Unique added.
“UNIQUE, I WILL NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF LANGUAGE! GO TO YOUR ROOM!”
“Awwwwww”, she said unhappily.
Chapter 9
Everyone except me and Rainbow Dash left the room.
I couldn’t stand the sight of her.
“Why did you do it?”, she said, “I had her in perfect position, and you jumped in front!”
“You are turning crazy Rainbow Dash, you just can’t see it!”
“I can’t see it! You not only jumped into my punch, but you interrupted me when I was talking!”, she said without holding back.
“Rainbow Dash, you ruined her life.”
“Like she didn’t ruin yours?!”
“Not saying she did, but I can recover from it, she won’t.”
“Well... I...”
“You went too far, if I were you, I’d apologize”
“APOLOGIZE! ARE YOU CRAZY!”, she said, “It’s one thing to know you lost but to say sorry?! I can’t.”
“I didn’t ask for your opinion.”
“WELL I’M GIVING IT TO YOU ANYWAY!”
“You will come to your senses soon Rainbow Dash...”
THE STORY BEGINS
Chapter 1. Waking Up
“Flutter Shy!”
It was a dream? It felt so real…
“FLUTTER SHY! C’MON WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!”
I yawned lighty.
“Late for what?”, I yelled.
“We’re gonna be late for the reunion!”
The reunion? When did she mention that?
“C’mon sleepy head! Up and at ‘em!”
I was still thinking of when she told me about this?
“Well! I guess I’ll just go without you!”
Just as she said that, she went through the window and tried to wake me up.
“FLUTTER SHY! GET UP YOU LAZY FILLY!”, she said.
“I don’t want to go.”
“You have to go! I can’t go by myself!”, she answered.
“Let me stay in BED!”
“Okay Flutter Shy, we can do this the easy way? Or the hard way” She demanded “When I get to the count of “5” you better be out of that bed!”
“1!”
I knew all the ponies who mocked me were going to be there…
“2!”
I didn’t want to go, I would be humiliated…
“3!”
“Rainbow Dash, don’t make me go!”, I said.
“4!”
“Please!”
“5!!”
“AHHH!!”
She grabbed me by my stomach and started pulling me up.
“LET GO!”
“Flutter Shy I warned ya!”
She had me in the air and flew towards Cloudsdale.
As we arrived there were ponies already entering the building.
“Come... On... Flutter Shy.”
I was grabbing the stairs as she pulled me in.
I tried my best, but eventually we entered.
“See? This isn’t so bad?”, she said in a tone trying get me happy.
“Oh... But what if the Crunkles will be here?”
“Ah, don’t worry about it! I got your back!”, she said with a smile.
“Hey! Blazer!”, Dash said.
“Dash! Good to see you girl!” the stallion said, “Hey, who’s this?”
“Oh, this is Flutter Shy.”, Dash replied.
“Pleased to meet you.”
He stuck out his hoof and I backed up and whimpered.
“Uhh... Is she, okay?”, he asked.
“Oh, she’s just a little shy”, Dash answered.
“Umm, Rainbow Dash, Can I go outside?”, I asked
“Promise you’re not gonna leave?”
“I promise.”, I said with a persuading look.
“Okay then go, BUT meet me back here once you’re done!”, she said.
“Okay...”
I left the party and went over to the garden to see the butterflies. It was nice and quiet and I loved being there.
Until...
They arrived…
“Hey look. It’s FlutterCan’tFly!”
“How’s it going Can’tFly?!”
“Y’know something! We never got to teach you a lesson for getting rid of Violet.”
“P... Pl... Please don’t hurt me…”
I was so afraid.
Chapter 2. Beat down
“You know what girls! It’s time for a biology lesson... First lesson... PAIN!”
“AAAAHHHHHH!!”
“CORNER HER!”
I was running around the entire garden until they got me cornered.
“Get her!”
I got jumped by all of them. Not just the three girls, but there entire gang!
I was punched, kicked, bit, spat on, smashed on walls and held down while they hit me with bats.
I was shivering in fear. There were no tears. Just my shaking body…
…Then the Crunkles left.
I was alone, bruised and bleeding.
I had nothing else to do but get up.
My entire body ached and I could barely move.
I then collapsed from the pain…
“Flutter Shy! You here! You’ve been gon-FLUTTER SHY! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!”, Dash said shocked as she saw me.
“Oh my Celestia, where’s a hospital!?”
I had awoken in a white bed,
my body ached and I couldn’t feel my right hind leg.
I got ambushed by a hug from Rainbow Dash.
“Don’t ever scare me like that again.”
I could feel her tears running down my shoulder.
“R… Rainb-”
“Shhh, it’s okay I’m here”, she said with a mixture of tears and a smile, “Who did this to you?”
“The… The… OW!”, I screamed in pain.
“Don’t move so much.”
“Th... The... Crunkles…”
Her eyes looked like they were on fire and she was about to break something.
Rainbow sighed a little.
“I should’ve listened to you.”, she said feeling guilty “C’mon lets go home.”
As we made towards the lobby. Two of the Crunkles were standing outside with bats and they started to do fake cry faces.
“WHY YOU HEARTLESS LITTLE BUCKS!”, Dash said.
She busted through the window and knocked both girls down.
Both girls looked at her with fear.
“IF YOU GUYS EVER TOUCH HER AGAIN! THE WINDOW ISN’T THE ONLY THING THAT’S GONNA BREAK!”
They both ran away like the cowards they were.
When we got back home, Rainbow Dash wouldn’t let me, or the Crunkles thing, go.
I was lying in my bed trying to get some sleep, but I was too worried about her.
“Flutter Shy. Are you awake?”, she asked softly.
“...Y... Yes.”
“Why did they jump you?”
I didn’t want to answer that question.
“I need to know.”, she said with her voice getting higher.
“Violet Shine…”
She didn’t say a word... She started to punch the walls and kick the couches in anger.
“I can’t believe this!”, she yelled.
“You didn’t do ANYTHING!”
I knew only one way to solve this.
“Rainbow Dash, we have to find Violet.”, I said with a serious voice.
“What will we accomplish once we do, huh?”
“Maybe... She can make them stop?”, I said unsure.
“I doubt it... I don’t just doubt it, I deny it!”, she said feeling confident.
“It’s worth a try.”
She took a breath and said,
“…Fine, but not right now, you’re still hurt.”
“Okay” I said.
Chapter 3. The Pursuit
It is a week past the events that happened and I was almost fully healed again.
“If we’re gonna find her, we need a guider.”, I said.
“Well, Twilight is the closest to that!”, Dash said eager to leave.
So we left my house and flew towards the Tree Library, and when we arrived at her house, Rainbow knocked on the door, waiting for a response.
Nothing happened...
“That’s strange…”, Rainbow said, “Most of the time she rushes to doors!”
I didn’t understand anything...
“Hey, I can get in through the window!”, Rainbow said upon noticing a open window.
“But that’s illegal!”, I said under a loud gasp, “You can’t do that!”
“What’s the worst that can happen?”, she said with a cocky smile on her face.
“You can be banned, jailed, hated, and sent to the dungeon!”, I replied.
Rainbow placed a hoof in her face.
“Ugh, I know what could happen Flutter Shy”, she said annoyed.
“Just let me see through the window.”
“Well... Okay”, I said.
She flew up to the window...
Peeked inside and said surprised,
“It’s empty?”
“What...? How is that possible?”, I asked.
“I... Guess she isn’t here?”, Dash replied
“It’s not normal...”
“....We have to go in”, I said as a last resort.
“FINALLY YOU AGREE WITH ME!”, she said with a relieved tone in her voice.
After some struggling to go through the window, we both landed in the house and looked around for any signs. But all we saw was books.
Not even Spike was there…
“You think Rarity would help?”, I said while looking around.
“I doubt it, all she does is find diamonds and move stuff, she can’t do spells.”, she said feeling certain
“Wait… W-what’s this…”
Chapter 4. Info
I pointed to a piece of paper and walked up to it.
“It looks like a letter…”, Dash said.
We both read the letter:
The time has come, bring no one and do not be late.
Your debt to us has come, bring us what we ask for pronto!
If you tell anyone about this letter, we will kill you.
Don’t forgot Twilight.
We know all.
~Black Pega
“I... I just...”, Dash was speechless.
I was shaking under the table.
Dash looked at me and said in an irritated tone, “Flutter Shy, get out of there!”
“What if they come for us? I don’t want to die Dash.”
I began crying under the table.
“Hey come here.”, she said as she sat down on the ground, looking at me.
“You’re not gonna die. I promise.”
I slowly got out from under the table
and grabbed onto Rainbow Dash, hugging her tightly.
“Okay now, you’re gonna have to let go.”, Dash said after a short time.
I let go and I was shivering.
“We need to go get our friends.”, she said.
“We should start with Apple Jack.”
“I agree.”, she replied.
We crawled back out the window and made sure nopony saw us, as we then flew toward the Acres.
As we arrived at Sweet Apple Acres we only saw Applebloom working on the farm.
“Hey Flutter Shy, hey Rainbow Dash!”
“Hello Applebloom” I said.
“You seen your sister Apple Jack anywhere?”, Dash asked to the little filly.
“No. Ah saw her this mornin’, but that’s it.”
“What’s going on here!?”, Granny Smith said as she came walking out the house.
“Nothin’ Granny! We’re just talkin’!”
“Can we speak to you privately?”, Dash asked Granny Smith.
“Well alright. Let’s go in the barn!”, she replied and she walked as fast as her legs could carry her.
We arrived in the barn and sat down on hay bales.
“What cha wanna talk about?”, Granny asked after she took place on one as well.
“Have you ever heard of the Black Pega?”, Dash asked.
Granny Smith gasped and closed every door and window as fast as she could. Then she lit a candle.
“Where did ya hear about, the Black Pega?”, Granny asked on a quiet tone.
Dash showed her the letter we found in Twilights house.
She sighed deeply at seeing it.
“Kids, ya don’t know what ya just found out about!”, Granny eventually said.
“What’s so scary about a group called ‘The Black Pega’?”, Dash asked with a cocky tone.
“Oh, they’re worse than scary”, Granny answered
“They’re deadly and vicious!”
“W-what do you mean?”, I said while starting to shiver a little.
She sighed again.
“Years ago, before even Princess Celestia was a princess! There lived a group’a protestors against the order’a non-Pegasus ponies. This group would kill earth and unicorn ponies unless they brought them 10 bits of gold each month. You two’re lucky! Pegasus don’t have to pay the fee. The Princess then took the throne and the Black Pega all surrounded her and nearly killed her and Princess Luna. Even if’n she’s part Pegasus, she still pays the fee because she is part unicorn. Mah fam’ly has done this for generations. The Black Pega are the richest ponies in Equestria.”
Me and Rainbow Dash were astonished!
“Why do you know about them?”, Dash asked the elderly mare.
“Ah know them all too well, because it was the darkest day of mah life…”
She said with a tear going down her cheek.
“Ah had just got home from visiting mah sister Green Apple. When Ah saw a note. The Black Pega do not send you fees until you are out of the filly stage. The note read,
The time has come, bring no one and do not be late.
Your debt to us has come, bring what we ask for pronto!
If you ask anyone about this letter. You will pay dearly

We know all…
Ah didn’t know when Ah was little that it was real, and Ah threw it in the trash.
The next day Ah woke up, Ah went over to the market ta get some fresh apple pie for Green Apple. Ah had to help her with supplies, when Ah arrived there Ah called her to open the door, but she didn’t answer. Ah tried turning the door and it opened. The lights were off and Ah could see a note on the wall saying,
We warned you!
An arrow pointed from the note to the kitchen. I walked over and saw my sister.
Dead…
Ah collapsed down to the floor crying and screaming. Ah sat by her for hours.
When the news heard about this they warned everypony about this. A week later the news reporters were found dead. Nopony talks about them in the open. They are the most heartless and terrifying ponies in Equestrian history!”
I was crying on Rainbow Dash’s shoulder.
She held my head I could feel her tears too.
Granny Smith did the same and said,
“Ah loved mah sister more than anything. Even more than Apple Jack.”
Before I could say anything,
we heard a voice shouting,
“We... Warned... You!”
The windows all opened and the doors as well,
and there were about 20 pegasus stallions and mares dressed in black.
“You have defiled our rules. Now you must pay with your life.”, one of them said.
Granny Smith was sobbing and looked up to them as she said,
“YOU KILLED MAH SISTER YA HEARTLESS BRUTES!”
They pulled out knives and were starting to charge.
“STOP!”, I shouted without knowing.
They all looked at me and a black suited stallion with a white wing design on his head said in a demanding tone,
“BE SILENT! THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!”
“Why are you doing this!”, Dash said assertively.
“HOLD THEM BACK!”, the stallion said.
7 stallions rushed towards us with ropes and tied us to a bar on in the farm. Not even Rainbow Dash could fight them.
“You two need a lesson in history.”
“SHE TOLD US EVERYTHING!”, Dash said.
“No, she didn’t.”, he replied in a oddly calm tone.
“THEN PROVE IT!” Dash said again.
“Centuries ago, we made this land of yours for an exchange for 10 bits of gold. The Pegasus were never respected and were treated like trash! We worked tirelessly on Ponyville and Canterlot, only to be shoved aside for no reason! We were going to claim Ponyville as Pegaland, but the land walkers took our land by force and forced us into the clouds. We wanted nothing to do with them, we just wanted money, so we built the beautiful Cloudsdale.”
“What difference does that make?”, Dash said, feeling confident
“IF YOU’D LET ME FINISH I’D TELL YOU!”
“Fine…”, she said.
“Thank you! When we built it, we had no worries. We all built lives and had jobs and families. Then the Unicorns demanded a fund in exchange! We lived in a cloud and they wanted a FUND! We refused and went back to Cloudsdale. The next day we could see Unicorns and Land walkers marching towards us. We were terrified and shocked. Most of the Pegasi flew away and didn’t come back. I was the prince of Cloudsdale, and I could remember it like it was yesterday. My father was trying to coax them into calling it off, and what do they? They kill him! I watched my father die by a stupid debt! I would not stand for it and I called all my best guards and fighters. We charged the land walkers and unicorns... Many were lost that day. When in the heat of battle, I pulled back the arrow on my bow, aimed, and killed the unicorn princess. Princess Majestic herself had fallen by my hooves! The battle ceased, and as they looked at me they were freighted. I told them,
You question our independence!
Take our land!
And think of us as a joke!
If you do not give us what we want!
You will die!
They all dropped down and gave me 10 bits, each, those who didn’t were beheaded.
Each month all non-pegasi must give me 10 bits of gold. Or they will die.
If you speak to anypony who’s a Pegasus or a filly/colt. You will be killed in an instant.
Now that you know the truth, can I kill this land walker?”
I looked at Rainbow Dash and said,
“I don’t believe them Rainbow…”
As I said that the prince flew to my face and yelled,
“YOU THINK I’M LYING?! MY FATHER IS DEAD BECAUSE OF THESE SAVAGES! AND YOU THINK I’M LYING! KILL THE OLD HAG!!”
“NOOOOO!!!”, Dash yelled back.
I closed my eyes and heard a splat noise.
“THIS IS WHAT THEY DESERVE!”, The prince continued.
I heard two more cuts and both Dash and I fell to ground as several wings flap as they flew away, leaving us behind…
Chapter 5. Friend or foe?
“Flu… Flutter Shy”, Dash said.
“Don’t talk to me!”, I said angry, “You were gonna say yes.”
“No I wasn’t!”, she replied, “Honest!”
The barn door opened and Apple Jack came in.
She was singing a song and her eyes were closed.
“Oh i’mma make some apple pie today, oh yes I a-”
She stopped singing and looked down
“Oh mah Celestia....”
She dropped down on her and began sobbing harder than Granny Smith was.
“Granny… Please wake up… PLEASE!”
I hated seeing her like this. She wouldn’t stop crying.
“...Ah love you...”, she said with tears.
We didn’t talk, it was too much already.
When she got up she turned left and saw us.
She then hid behind the door and said,
“Please don’t hurt me! Ah paid my fee! Just leave me alone!”
“Apple Jack, it’s us!”, Dash said.
“Rainbow Dash...”, Apple Jack said unsure.
“Who did this?!”, she replied while wiping her tears away.
“...Black Pega…”, Dash said.
“...But she paid her fee... Unless?”, she said as figured it out and tears once again filled her eyes.
“AH HATE THE BOTH OF YOU! NEVER TALK TO ME AGAIN! YOU’VE RUINED MY LIFE!”, she said as she ran away crying.
“...I hate myself…” I said softly and started to tear up a little as well.
“Don’t say that. She told us, she knew the risk.”
“I don’t even want to be here right now…”, I said.
In the house Apple Jack ran upstairs crying and went up to her room and fell on her bed, as she continued crying in her pillow.
“Apple Jack, what’s wrong?”, Applebloom carefully asked as she approached the doorway leading to her bedroom.
“Have ya seen Granny?”, Big Mac asked who also came upstairs after hearing the sobbing.
“Jus' leave me alone!”, she said with her voice breaking up.
They both entered the room and sat next her on the bed.
“Tell us.”, Applebloom said with a careful voice.
“Granny’s gone!”, she said though her sobbing.
“Well a course she’s gone. She’s out in the field.”, Big Mac said as sober as he was.
“No she’s... DEAD!”, she replied as she cried even harder.
“What!?”, Applebloom said in a voice crack as a tear appeared.
“NO!”, Mac said as he looked at his sister in disbelief. Even he started to tear up now.
The Apple Family was all crying on Apple Jack’s bed.
Rainbow Dash and myself slowly walked out of the barn and heard the family cry.
I walked home slowly but was followed by Dash.
“Flutter Shy...I’m-”
“JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!”, I screamed while turning around.
Rainbow Dash then flew away, back to Cloudsdale…
When I made it home I fell down on my bed and did the same as Apple Jack.
Angel went to my left side and nuzzled me lightly.
“Go away Angel…”, I said, “I’ve ruined Apple Jack’s life…”
He nuzzled me again.
“I SAID GO!”, I screamed accidentally hitting Angel out of the room.
I cried once again, tears pouring down my cheeks.
Then the doorbell rang.
I got out of bed, tried to wipe the tears away as I walked downstairs and slowly opened the door.
In the door opening stood Apple Jack who let go a deep sigh, but the dried up tears could still be seen on her face.
“Listen Flutter Shy Ah’m sorry. Ah didn’t mean to judge yall so quickly.”, Apple Jack said.
“It’s all my fault!”, I said, “I suggested going to your house!”
“Listen, Granny’s in a better place now. Ah’m glad she had a good life, but Ah want to know what they told you?”
I sighed and explained everything to her.
“...Ah knew Aunt Green didn’t just leave Equestria.”
“Is it true?” I asked carefully.
Apple Jack ducked her head down and said,
“...Yes.”
“WHAT!”, a voice said, “YOU’RE TELLING ME YOU ALMOST KILLED MY RACE!”
It was Rainbow Dash, she was angrier than when I accidentally ruined her autographed picture of The Wonderbolts.
“It happened when ah was a filly…”, Apple Jack told and she made a long, dark trip down memory lane.
“Ah was just wakin' up and my ma was in the livin' room, Ah walked over to her and asked her,
Mama where is daddy goin'?
She said he was goin' to the market and Ah should stay in mah room. I stayed there listening to my CD Player and watching TV.
When Ah heard a noise my mom said,
Do not go to the windows Jackie!
As a defiant filly Ah walked over to my door, locked it, and opened the drapes from my window, Ah watched a group of stallions and mares march towards a big cloud.
Ah'd never seen anything like it…
Royal guards, townspeople, civilians
all marching towards a cloud.”
At this moment Ah didn’t know which is more scary, being a Pegasus or being a Earth Pony…”
She shivered a little recalling the events but then spoke further.
“Ah was wonderin' where they were goin'? When they left ah could hear a colt screaming ‘charge!’, and trail of dust came from behind them.
They screamed so loud it shook mah house! Ah looked very close into the crowd, and Ah saw my father, Colby Jack, Ah wanted to scream for him, but Ah didn’t want to disturb him. When the noise stopped, mah mother told me we have to go to Canterlot. There I saw men and women, earth and unicorn. On the ground giving bits to those selfish Pegasus… Another attempt to get rid of Black Pega had failed…”
“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!”, Dash barked in anger.
“YA HEARD ME LOUD AND CLEAR!”, Apple Jack said getting in Rainbow Dash’s face.
“HOW DARE YOU CALL OUR RACE SELFISH!”, she screamed furiously, “WE GIVE YOU THE SEASONS AND YOU CALL US SELFISH?!”
“BECAUSE OF YOUR RACE GRANNY AND MAH PARENTS ARE DEAD!”
Rainbow Dash stopped as she saw tears form in Apple Jack’s eyes.
“Mah parents couldn’t pay the fee because they had bought something I cherished forever.”
She took off her hat and had a good look at it.
“Mah cowgirl hat.”, she said as a tear ran down her face.
“Ah tried to get mah mother to run away with me, but she said,
Little Apple, I love you, go to Sweet Apple Acres with Granny and Macintosh. Take Applebloom with you. She’s sleeping. I love-We love you both so much. GO!
She was crying as she told me that. Ah ran away from the scene, only to come back when they called mah father’s name. He pleaded for more time, and what did they do? They beheaded him,
and my mother.
Ah put Applebloom in my backpack and ran to Sweet Apple Acres, and the rest is history...”
Me and Rainbow Dash were in shock. We never knew why Apple Jack never saw her parents.
“Ah hate the pegasi, and Ah hate both YOU and Flutter Shy!”
Right as Rainbow Dash was about to speak, I ran upstairs, closed the door, and continued what I was doing before.
Chapter 6. The Secret
“You Pegasus took away mah family, and you took away mah life!”, Applejack said in anger and sadness.
“You think you have it easy! My mother and father left me!”, Dash said, “I had to raise myself! My grandparents were dead, my parents didn’t want me, and everypony hated me because of my mane!”
“Rainbow Dash...”, Apple Jack said, “Ah… Ah’m…”
She stopped being so mad when she saw Dashie fall on the floor and start sobbing.
“Rainbow Dash... Ah’m sorry…”, she said concerned, “I didn’t-”
“YOU DIDN’T KNOW?!”, Dash said with tears still rolling down her cheeks, “YOU INSULT MY RACE AND CULTURE! AND YOU SAY YOU DIDN’T KNOW!”
“Ah-”, was all Applejack could bring out before she got interrupted by Dash.
“NEVER TALK TO ME AGAIN!”, she said a flew away still crying.
Dash flew as fast as she could to Cloudsdale and slowed down, still sobbing deeply as she flew through the streets.
“Hey everypony! It’s Rainbow Dash!”, somepony cheered.
Everypony applauded and cheered for her.
Then it got quiet as they saw her crying.
“What’s wrong with her?”, somepony else asked out loud.
“Dunno…”, another pony said.
“WHY DID I HAVE TO BE BORN WITH A RAINBOW MANE?!”, she said continuing to cry.
“Ms. Dash?”, a stallion asked.
“W-what?”, she said with her voice breaking and sniffed.
“Are you alright?”
She sniffed again and then said, “Yes.”
She stood still and opened the door of her house.
“I’m fine.”, she tried to hold back the tears but it was no use and the stallion walked into the house.
“What happened?”, the stallion said as he entered the house.
They both sat on the bed and she explained.
“...Ms. Dash”, he said as she was laying down by him and crying heavily
“Nopony loved me!”, she said.
“Why do you think that?”, he replied.
“I try to be a daredevil, but I’m scared!”, she admitted to him.
“Why? You seem fine”
“I’m scared of being made fun again…”, she answered.
“I don’t see why it affects you.”, the stallion said carefully.
“They called me gay, fake pony, Rainbow retard, and Dash the dumbass”
“Why would those names be so bad? They seem so generic.”
“They called me gay because of my mane, fake pony because I was the only Pegasus in my entire school until they built a Pegasus school. Rainbow retard because I scored the lowest on my career test, and Dash the dumbass because when I tried to beat everypony in races I would always end being thrown to the side somehow?”, she said through her sobbing.
The stallion held her tighter and said,
“I would never do that to you.”
Rainbow looked up with tears pouring out,
and kissed him.
The stallion didn’t mind it, he knew it was just her way of a ‘thank you’.
“I have to leave Dash.”, he said.
“Okay, I’ll show you out.”
They both made it to the front door Rainbow opened the door for him..
“I’m glad I could help you Ms. Da-”
Before he could speak further she kissed him again,
"Call me Rainbow.", she said with a smile,
and she closed the door.
Chapter 7. Shocker
Back in my house Apple Jack had walked up the stairs and stood before my bedroom, knocking on it.
“Shy....”, Apple Jack said softly, “You in there?”
“Leave me alone!”, I screamed through the sobbing.
I could hear her sigh in sorrow.
But moments later she screamed in pure horror,
“OH MAH CELESTIA!”
I looked out the window and saw maybe 200 Black Pega racing towards Ponyville.
“…NO!”, I screamed as I broke through my window and charged them.
“FLUTTER SHY!”, Apple Jack screamed as she heard the window shatter, “…AH’LL BRING REINFORCEMENTS!!”
Back in her house Rainbow was reading one of the many Daring Do books she had and tried to get her mind off the past events.
“Daring Do then raced towards the mountain, only to be stopped by her arch nemesis-”
A loud boom shook Rainbow Dash off her bed.
“W-what’s the big idea?!”, she said wondering.
“WHERE ARE WE GOING TO HIDE!”, somepony yelled.
“They’re almost here!”, another pony said.
Rainbow Dash looked out her window and saw the huge group of Black Pega.
“Oh no.”, she said, “No, no, no, no, no!”
She blasted through the door and charged the group. Same as Flutter Shy.
Applejack galloped back to the Acres as fast as her legs could carry her as her tears dried up.
“Big Mac, Applebloom!”, she said panting, “We gotta go, Flutter Shy needs us!”
“We saw it.”, Big Mac said.
“Let’s kick their flanks!”, Applebloom said who was ready to go.
“...For Granny.”, Apple Jack said and both Big Mac and Applebloom nodded.
I flew through countless members of Black Pega,
“GET OUT OF HERE!!!!”, I screamed as I charged through them into the prince.
I had brought him down to the ground and pulled out a dagger from under my wing which I keep for emergencies.
I was pushed off him by a mare with a pink and black mane.
“Finish her!”, the prince said.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!”, a voice screamed loudly through the skies.
It was Rainbow Dash!
After the scream she did the biggest Sonic Rainboom I’ve ever seen!
The shockwave was so heavy that it blew ponies halfway over to Canterlot!
It was so powerful that it knocked the pink and black maned mare off of me and was sent into a boulder where she died on impact.
I then I was greeted by Rainbow Dash as she said with a smile on her face,
“Ready to redeem ourselves.”
As I reached for her hand she was shot in the wing by an arrow, and she plummeted to the ground.
I looked furiously at the prince and charged at him with all my speed.
He tried to fly away but he was already in my clutches.
I threw him against the ground and began punching him.
He countered and did the same to me.
I kicked him off, grabbed him, and broke his wing.
“AAAHHH!”, he screamed in pain.
“You won’t be following me!”, I said as I flew away.
Chapter 8. Hell on Ponyville
I went over to assist Rainbow Dash who was lying on a boulder with the arrow sticking out her wing.
“It grazed me.”, she said, “I-I can still do this.”
“Then get up!”, I said with the adrenaline of battle
She got up and we both flew towards the horde of Black Pega’s.
When we made it there Apple Jack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, and Rarity were all fighting against them.
We then rushed over to assist them.
“Rainbow! Flutter Shy! Over here!”, Twilight screamed to us.
“No hard feelin's!”, Apple Jack said.
“We’ll talk about it later!”, Dash said, “I already did a Rainboom to weaken their defense!”
“We need a plan to beat them.”, Rarity screamed.
“We could make a distraction!”, Pinkie Pie said giggling.
“…Never heard you come up with plans that good!”, Dash replied to her.
“Where would we lead ‘em!?”, Apple Jack asked.
“We can lead them to Canterlot silly!”, Pinkie answers giggling.
“...Again! Wow!”, Dash said.
“Who will lead the distraction?!”, I asked looking at everypony.
“...Ah will.”, Apple Jack eventually said.
“Alright everypony, let’s do this!”, Twilight screamed.
We started to distract the most of them and got them crazy enough to follow us as Applejack galloped as fast as she could towards Canterlot leading the herd of Black Pega.
“This is for you Granny.”, she said while galloping.
The plan was a success and we lead them to Canterlot. There the Princess had come out of her castle.
“CLOSE YOUR EYES!”, Princess Celestia ordered.
We closed them as soon as we heard her and heard a crumpling sound and a breaking sound. We opened our eyes and saw she turned them to stone.
About one hundred statues all laid in the grass, some were broken in half due to height they fell from, but most appeared to be intact.
“I’ve dreaded the day this would happen!”, Celestia screamed.
“We have to come up with a way to stop them!”, Twilight said.
“My stone spell only works at a radius!” Celestia said.
“Then we need to get more magic!”, Apple Jack replied.
Chapter 9. The Outcome
“...I have an idea!”, I said, “If Rainbow Dash can try one more Sonic Rainboom on the town it will take out all of them!”
“But judging by the amount of them and how much power she needs to pick up, she won’t survive!”, said Twilight worried.
“Rainbow?”, Pinkie asked.
“...I’m in.”, Dash replied with a cold voice.
“No Dash, it’s too risky!”, Rarity screamed.
“Listen, I’ve valued all your friendship, and I’m proud to have had my time here. I will miss you dearly!”, she said as she went up to the sky.
“RAINBOW DAAAASH!”, Pinkie Pie screamed as she cried on Rarity’s back.
“Mother, Father, I know you would’ve been proud of me. Even if you didn’t know it. I’m proud to be a Pegasus, and I’m proud of myself.”
“I love you, both”, Dash said as she soared through the skies.
I could see Rainbow Dash flying down as fast she could. She had huge Sonic Rainbooms behind her.
She had made it down and a Sonic Rainboom surrounded all of Equestria.
Black Pega stallions and mares were either slingshot in the air, or were burning alive…
But Rainbow Dash was no where…
We all made it back to Ponyville as fast as we could, only to be greeted by Rainbow Dash’s cracking body.
“Dashie don’t leave me!”, Pinkie Pie said.
“Ah can’t look”, Apple Jack said as she turned her head away.
I walked over to her, sat by her and said,
“Thank you sister.”
“Flu… Flutter Shy…”, Dash brought out with a lot of pain in her voice.
“Shh… It’s okay Rainbow… Don’t fight it”, I said with acceptance as I put my front leg around her.
Pinkie Pie was crying the hardest out of all of us and couldn’t bare to look.
“Did... I do it?”, she asked.
“Yes.” I answered back.
Then Rainbow Dash died… She closed her eyes and we all saw her body move up one last time, for one last breath, but when it lowered, it didn’t move back up…
“No... Get up Dashie. PLEASE!”, Pinkie Pie said as she rushed towards her lifeless body.
I grabbed Pinkie and said,
“It’s okay... She’s in a better place.”
Pinkie Pie’s hair went straight as she grabbed onto Rainbow Dash and said
“I’ll never party again...”
The next day I woke up, I cried for hours. I missed Rainbow Dash. I always used to hear her calling me to do something with her, now, there is nothing but silence…
I arrived at the market with my head down walking slowly, while walking ponies would start saying how sorry they were.
In fact I haven’t seen Scootaloo with The Cutie Mark Crusaders for a while.
I walked to a fruit stand and looked a little around.
“Do... You have any... Oranges?”, I said in a depressed voice.
The stand worker wasn’t looking at me, but she said,
“Umm… Not sure. I can check in the ba-”
I couldn’t believe my eyes, they had to be lying to me.
“…Flutter Shy?”, the stand worker asked as she was looking at me.
“...Violet?”, was all I could bring out.
“I haven’t seen you in ages!”, Violet said.
“...I’m sorry for what Dash did!”, I replied, “She only defended me, I didn’t know!”
“Hey, hey, calm down.”, she said, “You changed my life!” And on her face a smile appeared
“HOW!?”, I demanded.
“Well. While I was trying to live my new life, I started to try and find a job. Then I found one at the local fruit store, where this stand is also from. I was always criticizing what the boss would do. I thought I was gonna get fired, but then he said
If you put that aggression into determination. This place would have more ponies and a better building.
When I went home, I thought about it. Maybe he’s right, maybe I shouldn’t be using my energy for judging, but put it forth action. So now I made the fruit store 10 times more richer and I’m now the manager!”
“But why are you here?”, I asked feeling confused.
“Well it’s a memorial to Rainbow Dash...", she said, "And, I always admired her.”
I couldn't believe it! Mean little Violet. Has turned into my friend...!
Rainbow Dash would be proud...
Epilogue
The Black Pega group was no more. The Prince was executed for murder against ponies, and the rest of the group was dead or turned into stone.
Twilight Sparkle is back to her old ways, studying magic, learning, the usual.
Rarity Belle has made a special dress for that day called “Rebirth”.
Pinkie Pie has not been the same. Her mane never went up and she hasn’t thrown any parties since that day.
Apple Jack still maintained the farm and made a special burial for Granny Smith
I put a portrait of Rainbow Dash on my bed stool in honor of her, and I have left the guest room she stayed in, untouched.
The Wonderbolts have put a statue in Ponyville of Rainbow Dash in a Wonderbolts outfit.
We all visit the statue daily, Pinkie Pie cried every time we went there.
