New wings, old woods.
Meet me at the White Tail Woods.
Load Full StoryRainbow Dash was, by her own admission, not a pony who was good with mushy talk or using fancy words. She was always the kind of filly who preferred to let her actions speak for themselves, and if that was not what was legitimately needed than she would do her best to just keep silent and let others who were more qualified to handle the situation do their thing. She’d made too many mistakes in her life by talking too soon about things she didn’t understand, and the Pegasus had personally decided to make an effort to be more patient and less confrontational about numerous issues unless she had at least an IDEA of what to do and/or say something that was appropriate given the circumstances.
But when the glorious light which eclipsed the brightness of the stars above had finally faded, the heavenly music which had sounded in the ears of herself and her friends had at last subsided, and she was the first to open her eyes as she desperately looked forward at the familiar shape that stood where Twilight Sparkle had, and her heart leapt in her chest when she saw her beloved mare standing right there, completely unharmed!
Rainbow could not stop the joyous smile and the blur in her vision as she looked upon the pony who she loved with all her heart. Up till now, she was convinced that Twilight could not have gotten anymore beautiful, precious, and magical in her sight. The mare was so drop-dead gorgeous already, so very beautiful and adorable all at the same time, that it seemed impossible for her to improve in any conceivable way… unless of course, she got wings of her own.
But that was just a fools dream, right?
And yet right now? The egghead just looked so much more dazzling now than before, and Dash could not put her hoof on what. Those eyes, that mane, that fur, that adorable face… every single thing. The Unicorn was in some unspeakable way just better than she had been prior. Everything about her that Rainbow loved had been some strange way enhanced exponentially by this magical transformation, and Dash’s heart swelled so much now, and she could not stop the smile of wonder and love that shone on her face as she gazed at the shining, SPARKLING pony who now stood tall and totally cool.
But then, Twilight did the most unexpected thing imaginable: she revealed her wings.
Revealed her wings.
Her wings.
Wings.
I’m
WINGS!
At a later date, Rainbow Dash would thank her lucky stars that all their other friends were here as well and had also gasped and exclaimed in surprise and excited disbelief at the glorious sight. Because the light-blue Pegasus herself practically cried out, with tears in her eyes, and for a split second had nearly collapsed as her legs gave out under her before managing to regain their strength.
The Mane Five and the little dragon just stared in silent awe at the new Alicorn before suddenly four of them managed to overcome their shock and surge forward, flooding her with congratulations and declarations of adoration and joy at her unexpected arrival and ascension.
But for a few moments, the light blue Pegasus was frozen in place, unable to even fly as she instinctively bit her lip and kept herself silent. Again, she would thank everything good in the future that she was in the company of somepony else who was currently the complete center of attention, and she managed to recover herself and put back on her mask to hide her true feelings.
Flying forward, Dash hugged Twilight for a shorter much time then she wished to, and proclaimed that she so happy to now have a new flying buddy and was excited to fly with her. It was a half-truth, but the other four and Spike didn’t have to know that.
And then Princess Celestia appeared, and declared that Twilight apparently was now a Princess herself! Rainbow’s poor heart again pounded in her chest like the Cloudsdale Weather Corporation’s various machines working at full capacity, and her breathing became labored as Princess Celestia and the new Alicorn exchanged a few meaningful words, and then all of them were bowing in respect to each other. Celestia then stated that they would deal with Twilight’s understandable worries about how she should act and what to do from now on later, and that they would hold her official coronation tomorrow.
Everypony and one special little dragon smiled happily and excitedly, and if any of them noticed the quick and truly joyous look snuck in between the new Princess and the hovering blue Pegasus(who was staying behind the others and had a tear streaming down her face), they didn’t say a word.
The pure and simple happiness that filled Rainbow Dash was the greatest she had ever felt yet, even greater than the first time that she and Twilight had first taken their feelings for each other to the next level and consummated it physically.
Twilight Sparkle, the mare who held Rainbow’s heart in her hooves. The most incredible and awesome Unicorn ever. The most beautiful and amazing and awesome and precious and fantastic and phenomenal and every-other-big-word-out there-that-Rainbow-could-not remember-at-the-moment amazing mare… had just ascended and become now a Princess.
And now she had her own set of wings! And they were not JUST any normal set of wings, no. These ones, Dash could see, were larger and stronger and lovelier than any other pair of wings than those of Rainbow herself or any that she had ever seen on any other Pegasus. Or pretty much any other species of creature at all!
Only Princesses had these beautifully awesome Royal wings, and Twilight now had the most coolest and most majestic ones of them all!
And now Rainbow truly, TRULY realized it: Twilight Sparkle was complete. She was whole, having become who and what she was meant to be, having fulfilled her destiny at long last.
This wasn’t just an upgrade, this was an AWAKENING. An awakening to her true self, a realization of her own true destiny.
And Rainbow Dash couldn’t be happier for the pony she loved most.
-
The first time they were able to meet up again intimately in secret since Twilight’s ascension was approximately one month later, along the trail where the Running of the Leaves took place. Twilight took a day off from any studies and work, saying that she was going there to meet Rainbow Dash who was going it continue teaching her how to fly more efficiently.
Truthfully, she just ached to hold and be held by her secret marefriend again, as they hadn’t been able to do ANYTHING intimate really for over 4 WEEKS, even though they saw each other quite often along with the rest of their friends!
She had restrained herself for as long as she could!
Twilight sent Rainbow a secret via her Teleportation Magic, which had strengthened now by her newfound status and powers that came along with it. All she had to do was teleport to the other pony’s house with a bit of concentration, knock on the door, and teleport after dropping the message off. Her new Divination Spell allowed her to see that Dash was there and alone, so the Alicorn had no fear of being seen by anypony else.
After getting herself to White Tail Woods, she cast a Spell and created a secret Detection Field, which would alert her if anypony or anycreature was coming within a hundred hooves of her own location. It would alert her and identify the intruder(s), sending all the information directly to her mind. It was a practical and useful Spell for a variety of situations and purposes.
Back at the cloud house, Rainbow Dash had quickly read the mysterious note, and it had told her to:
Come to the White Tail Woods alone. Something very special and specific awaits you there.
Of course, she went. Why wouldn’t she, after all?
Arriving at the trail where the annual Running of the Leaves race takes place, the Pegasus looked around from side to side, and even sniffed the air for anything that could be found. There was nothing.
“Ok, I’m here. What’s next?”
No answer, as expected from something like this. She grunted in frustration and impatience, already starting to feel just a bit tired of this.
“Oh great. Is this seriously gonna be another hide-and-seek thing or something? I’m not in the mood for this nonsense, ok?!”
Yet even as she said such, Rainbow Dash was already walking down the path and deeper into the woods, her ears peeled for any suspicious sounds and her eyes carefully scanning her surroundings. Nothing seemed off, but she could not shake the feeling that she was being watched.
“Gonna make me do this the hard way and try to find you, huh? Well guess what, whoever you are: I’m NOT playing this with you! So unless you can give me a bucking good reason to stay even one second longer, I’m leaving! 1! OK your time is-!”
The sound of a few leaves being blown out of the way as something sped past them sounded in her ears behind Rainbow’s, and she spun around in alarm at the strange sound… only to have an exceptionally large leaf blow right in her face!
“Hey-!”
And then she felt herself get tackled to the grass by her unseen assailant!
Rainbow’s fighting instincts kicked in, but just before she could throat out a jaw-breaking strike with a hoof, felt a pair of lips slant themselves against her own.
Dash didn’t need even a second to realize just who this was. The softness of the fur, the wonderfully sweet and gentle scent, and the taste of those lips all introduced and confirmed the identity of this brazen pony in the span of time it takes to blinks just once.
Dash let out a happy “Hmmmm!” and placed her hooves on Twilight’s cheek and neck as she deepened the kiss further, her head rotating side to side as she remembered again just how much she had been missing this and how much she needed it.
The two marefriends lay there for a nice long while, Twilight straddling Rainbow and both moving their mouths against each other’s in a hot and harmonious dance that was both intense and peaceful. Eventually though, they both needed to breathe, and Twilight slowly leaned up and separated from Dash with a delightfully soft and wet pop, a thin strand of saliva still connecting their muzzles.
For a few long moments, they both simply gazed at each other, the only sounds being the soft wind in the trees and their own breathing.
“I’m honestly a bit surprised, y’know?”
Twilight said with a smile chuckle and a smile, looking to one side as she blushed again. Rainbow beamed at just how naturally cute yet seductive her beloved friend could look.
“I was legitimately half-expecting you to just dash forward and kiss me right in front of all the others, back during the night when I became an Alicorn.”
Rainbow’s eyes widened just a little at that unexpected statement, then she shrugged and snorted.
“Believe me, the thought DID come.”
Twilight smiled down at her and asked, “I’m not saying that I’m dissatisfied because you didn’t do it, but… why not? What kept you from doing so? What held you back?”
The Pegasus closers her eyes and bit her lower lip as she grinned, and it took all of Twilight’s self-control not to just lean down and kiss her again, forgetting about her answer. Rainbow opened her eye again, and while she still had a genuine smile on her face, her voice was now just a bit serious. More solemn.
“It wasn’t my place to do something like that to you, Twily.”
“What do you mean, Dash?”
“What I’m saying… what I am TRYING to say is, it was YOUR moment of glory, Twi. You had just made history in probably the most awesome way none of us probably even dreamed. You had just completed Starhurl’s-“
“Starswirl.”
“Right. You had just completed Starswirl’s unfinished spell that was, like, a thousand or more years old. You literally SWITCHED our destinies, fixed it all up, and then transformed into an Alicorn, and THEN five seconds later just got announced to be an ACTUAL PRINCESS! I mean, it was you becoming YOU, who you were always meant to be. It was your own personal triumph. And I…”
Now she looked off to one side, and her voice became quieter, more subdued.
“I couldn’t just give in to my own desire and… ruin that for you by making it all so awkward.”
Twilight’s eyes shimmered and her mouth opened just a little as she heard and processed what Dash said.
The latter had refused to expose their secret because she wanted Twilight to enjoy her moment of glory for as long as possible. She had unselfishly let Twilight have all the glory, and even more impressively, had not pressed her for another secret meeting at all for weeks and weeks afterwards either. Rainbow knew that the new Princess was busy with a number of new duties and trying to stabilize herself in her new position as well, and had given her space and time to work it all out.
Politics could be a REAL pain, after all.
And Twilight felt her heart swell even more now as she stared down at her partner and giggled.
Dash, for her part, simply grinned and raised a hoof to Twilight’s chest, letting it sensually run down the soft yet firm flesh and fur with a wink.
Twilight smiled wider and her breathed hitched for a moment, her breast heaving slightly and feeling absolutely delightful to Dash.
“You really have gotten more beautiful in every conceivable way since you transformed into this new form, Twi. No joke, you even FEEL softer and stronger than before.”
“Heh, I thought as much, considering the way you really seem to be having fun touching me up there.”
Rainbow smirked further and now raised her other hoof up to join the first, rubbing Twilight’s chest slowly in a circular manner, eliciting another gasp or two from the now more tense Alicorn.
“Well… I’m not complaining.” Came the husky voice of the lavender pony. She licked her lips anew as her eyes became more focused and glazed with want, an action mirrored by Rainbow too.
She then placed her hooves on Dash’s cheeks and leaned down fast to kiss her again, doing it hard and passionately from the very start at this moment. She moved her mouth skillfully and used her lips to part Rainbow’s own, kissing her deeper and more dominantly. Rainbow Dash’s eyes actually opened for a moment in surprise at the Alicorn’s surprising amount of force and aggression, but she soon closed them and hummed in contentment as the latter leaned down a bit further and pressed the Pegasus’s head into the grass.
And as they got more and more into this special moment, Rainbow had at least one certainty in her head: she liked being in charge of their lovemaking, sure. But it was also REALLY awesome when Twilight took over!
