A candle and a blanket

“Dash, why exactly did you come here and hide under a blanket? With a CANDLE as well?”
Twi raises an eyebrow in question as I grin up at her under the soft blanket I’m currently covered by. "You are aware that I technically found you and so I need to go and seek our other friends who are hiding, right?"

"Not if you don’t want to," I reply. It hits me that those words might just be the most convincing argument that I could make right now. Good job, Rainbow Dash.

I wink up at her a second or two later and the stunningly perfect Alicorn mare doesn’t move for a few moments, but I can see clear as day how she loses almost all resistance in about two seconds flat, and I can’t help but lick my lips as she smiles that beautiful gentle smile down at me and then leans down, her purple muzzle lowering towards my blue one.

“Is this an attempt to recreate what we did last time camping like this, Rainbow?” She asks me with a chuckle. We both smile and think back to that trip, nearly 8 months ago shortly after we first became involved together secretly.

(Flashback)

It's like 8:30 or so PM, the first chance for us to have some serious alone time since that last awesome meeting a couple of weeks ago.
With everypony else currently occupied by the need to hide and not be found by the cute and sexy Sparkling Twily, I was hoping to be able to get just a few minutes with her so that she and I can finally breathe... And cut off each other’s breaths as well in our favorite way. And also so that I can do something equally as cute and incredibly romantic.
Yeah yeah I know, I’m acting really unlike how everypony else would assume me to be when it comes to relationships, so what? Twilight is worth every second of it to me.
Besides, it’s not like I’m just putting up some lame kind of act to try tricking her into falling in love with me. She already has, and if she’s going through the same thing I am… she’s only falling for me more and more everyday the same way I am for her.

"But for real though Rainbow, is there something you want, other than the obvious stuff that I want too yet also don’t think th-mmmph.”

My lips don’t let her lips finish that sentence. The fact that she blatantly admitted that she also wanted to have the same fun I wanted was more than enough for me to push forward and just do it.
The fact that she didn’t pull away at all and actually opened her mouth wider to allow her tongue to meet mine was just so awesome… and hot!

After too short a time we pull apart and I grin at seeing the strand of saliva still connecting our lips together. I always love when that happens.
“Hold it,” the Unicorn says suddenly, and her horn glows for a second as she carefully casts a silent Spell, her eyes narrowing as she looks at nothing. Then it’s done.
“There. I cast my newly created Detection Field Spell so that nopony can sneak up on us. It’ll alert me when they’re a hundred steps from us at most.”

“Good! Now come on in here and see the secret little message I got for ya!”
She sighs and rolls her eyes, but squeezes into the space I created under the blanket anyway. Things just got at least 20% more awesome!

“Seriously Rainbow Dash, what is it?”
She asks with no small amount of confusion and just a hint of anticipation, not even bothering to try hiding the little smile she now wears.

“Don’t worry, just look up above your head.”

"What did you…" Twilight looks up and lets out a little gasp followed by a chuckle. I smirk and look up with her to see my hoofiwork: a mistletoe drawing crudely etched into the blanket right where she is, drawn with a broken pencil I grabbed for this purpose.

"I did not want to put it draw it anywhere else for obvious reasons. I know it's a little cheesy but hey, there are some cliches about Hearths Warming that I'm a fan of, even if it’s still a long time away. And besides, I'll take ANY excuse to kiss you."

Twi just shakes her head with her eyes closed and lets out an amused breath, "You're such a prankster, aren’t you?”

I roll my eyes and smile, "Yeah but I'm your prankster. Now are you gonna kiss me or do I have to do it?"

She chooses wisely and leans in for a tender kiss full of all those silly holiday metaphors. I can taste raspberries on her lips, and it makes me just want to devour her right there. But we both have enough self-control to part before we get too carried away with ourselves.
The candle burns brightly between us, it’s light comforting and shining upon her beautiful face and eyes. Her complete beauty is somehow greater now and like an angel looking at me in a closed dark room, her eyes shimmering and looking upon me with an intense and sincere love that I don’t deserve at all.

I run my wings along her blushing face, my feathers sliding over her closed eyes and fur in a sort of Harmony that is just too cool and great to describe, we hold one of each other’s hooves firmly and gently at the same time, and our eyes are locked to each other’s for a heart-poundingly long moment before she looks away.
I lean forward and nuzzle her beautiful soft ear, and giggle as it moves slightly as my breath and lips tickle it.

I keep my hoof in hers, and she giggles cutely and speaks.
“I love you, my beautiful Rainbow," she leans her face into my muzzle, and I move my own head too that our foreheads are rubbing softly against each other’s.
"I love you so very much."

"I really love you too," I say, resting in her embrace. We stay under that snug blanket for a little bit longer, until we realize that we have to get out and she has to go looking for our other friends who are still out there hiding and waiting to be found, hehe...
Before we go back outside though, I lean in and sneak her one more hungry kiss under the blanket.

I don’t really know how we got from remembering the past under that blanket to playing tonsil-tennis on this cloud top while remembering that fond memory… but I sure as hay am not complaining about it.
Our friends may need to wait a while for Twilight to come and find them, though.
