Beneath the light of Moon and Star.
The lavender beauty of the twilight sky hung in the air with a radiant grace that must have been extremely rare, for Rainbow Dash had never seen it so fair and perfect as it was now.
But maybe that was due to the awesomely gorgeous Princess who was sitting down beside her, resting with her on this soft and comfy cloud as Celestia lowered the Sun and Luna started to bring up the moon. It was a full moon at that, and very beautiful.
Both seated next to each other, the two ponies were silent and surprisingly were not snogging hungrily or touching each other or anything like that.
She just did not know why, but despite her ever-growing love for the pony just inches to her side, Twilight Sparkle somehow knew that she would be content with this ending of the day if Dash simply chose not to kiss or try to climb on top of her or anything like that. Sure, she enjoyed the warm sensations that were flowing through her body as the cyan Pegasus was softly kissing and nipping her ear and her mane, but it was not as aggressive and demanding as many other previous encounters had been between them.
It seemed as if Dash too felt genuinely calm and was simply displaying her affection in a more physically relaxed and gentle manner tonight. Just being in the company of the pony she loved more than anything else was enough for Twilight right now, and here on a cloud miles above the surface of Equestria and watching as the night’s glory filled the skies and bathed the world below in its sacred glow? She could not think right now of a more beautiful way to greet the end of day.
Meanwhile, the Pegasus gently nuzzled the purple mane, sifting her nose in the long sweet soft hair and breathing in her favorite scent. Somehow the elevation of their current position and the freshness of the light wind up here made the wondrous Alicorn look, smell, and even TASTE more pleasant.
The scents of lavender and raspberry mingled together with the powdery cotton one that sometimes was natural to clouds as well along with the fresh coolness of the night air, and Rainbow closed her eyes as he nostrils drew in the heavenly aroma and her tongue was gifted with the sweet taste of lavender mingled with sugar powder and freshly washed raspberry jam.
Gosh, she felt so great and so peaceful right now. The usual friskiness she had whenever she was with her marefriend was strangely absent, and in its place was a calm contentment. Without even knowing it, Rainbow raised a hoof and started to slide it down Twilight’s shoulder and foreleg, the only way to describe it was exactly what it was: a lover’s caress.
Her tough, firm hoof slid over the soft smooth lavender fur and the edges of it flowed between the majestic strands of fur like a fish swims down a gently flowing stream.
Rather then feeling the urge to tackle Twilight and start showering her in kisses and touches, Dash only felt a soothing warmth flowing through every inch of her very being as she smelled and felt and looked upon her special friend and loved her even more every second.
She is so beautiful. So very beautiful and perfect. I don’t even want to sleep with her right now, I just want her to be happy and safe forever… and to be content with a pony like me.
She could feel and somehow even hear Twilight’s steadily beating heart as she continued to tenderly nuzzle that delightful neck and one particularly sensitive blood vein, the sensations going through her lips and echoing in her ears. The latter now stiffened slightly and then somehow loosened up with a deep sigh, her eyes closed and her head slowly raising up to the starlit sky as her breathing also heightened just a bit, Rainbow’s soft and sensual activity continued to effect her in the best ways possible.
And looking at the lovely Alicorn up close like this while continuing to lovingly provide pleasure her mane, ear, neck, and right foreleg, Rainbow caught sight of the long smooth hairs that made up the purple mane glint. Her narrowed eyes focused more as she kept up her movements, and saw more of the almost glowing flair that came off of them, then her eyes flicked up to the ear as well.
Not just her mane, not just her ear, and not just her normal body fur. It looked more and more like Twilight herself was REFLECTING the light from the stars and moon in a way that Rainbow Dash had never seen before, or even imagined.
It was like a vision of infinite equine beauty had manifested itself physically and now sat before Rainbow Dash.
But at the same time, the glorious light glistening off of her was of the stars themselves, Rainbow felt within her breast a warm embrace of her heart and a slight breathlessness that came with witnessing this ethereal presence before her.
An ethereal presence that she was given the indescribable privilege of loving and being loved by.
It was amazing how this Princess of majestic beauty could be right here in front of Dash, and yet somehow also felt like she was everywhere at once. She was a beautiful pony mare and also the entirety of the heavenly sky itself.
It was as though she was more than a Princess, more than an Alicorn, more than Princess Celestia’s student. It was like she wasn't even a pony at all, but so much more than that, born from the cosmic greatness of the Universe and sent down to this most fortunate of Pegasi, like blessed rain from the stars coming down to parch an unknowingly love-starved soul.
Looking up for a second, Rainbow saw the skies above and all around them, shimmering with a similar but lesser beauty than the treasure that she was currently touching and softly giving pleasure to.
It was like if the stars were works of art, then Twilight herself was the masterpiece.
So that must be why your parents chose your name, she whispered in her mind.
The Princess, meanwhile, closed her eyes as she simply basked in her lover’s tender ministrations, then slowly turned her head to look at her with a small smile and a seductively desirous look in her narrowed purple eyes.
Rainbow slid her hoof down from Twilight’s shoulder. She stared into Twilight’s amazingly beautiful eyes for several heartbeats, then leaned forward while licking her own lips as the other pony did the same.
NOW she felt that it was appropriate to feel just a bit of lust, and the familiar urge to taste those soft warm lips again was felt in her mind and heart.
The two mare’s lips met softly and their eyes closed, Rainbow angling her head to the left for an opening as she steadily opened her muzzle wider and felt the Alicorn widen her own as well, and then pushed her tongue out. Both tongues met passionately and renewed their intimate dance as soft moans came from both mares throats.
The sounds were like a song in their hearts, a song that can only be played by those who have a special binding of their souls.
For each of the two, this unbreakable connection they shared, this bond of friendship and love, it incomprehensibly transcended than anything about romance either had ever read in any books or heard about from any storytellers. It was just unable to properly be put into words… not even the more articulate Twilight Sparkle believed that she would ever find the words to describe it in any way that would do it justice at all.
Overhead, the stars shone in their glory and dressed the two loving marefriends in a single blanket of light that only comes from the sky of night.
