My Little Pony: The Mask is Magic
Many moons ago in the land of Equestria, as the rain was pouring down hard on the land, Star Swirl the Bearded and the rest of the pillars were busy with something, something very important. Rockhoof was using his shovel to dig a deep hole while a green wooden box wrapped in Chains laid next between Star Swirl and Mistmane. Flash Magnus and Somnambula stood on guard while Meadowbrook had a worried expression upon her face. "My friend, you must calm yourself." Star Swirl told her with a straight face. "I know you're worried about the pony, but this is for the best for him and all of Equestria."
"I know but it's that relic that was controlling him every night is what's giving me the shivers." Meadowbrook mentioned while looking at the chest. "No matter what we did to it, it didn't even have a scratch on it. No amount of magic could even destroy it."
"Even I admit, that thing even seems to have a mind of its own." Flash Magnus mentioned. "It even brought out a side of the pony it possessed every night."
"Speaking of, look who's approaching." Somnambula told the others as there was an earth pony stallion charging towards them as he had a desperate look on his face.
"GIVE IT BACK TO ME!!!" The stallion demanded just as Flash Magnus and Somnambula held the stallion back. "I CAN HEAR IT CALLING TO ME!!! I NEED IT!!!"
"Please sir, you must focus!" Meadowbrook told the stallion as the two pegasi struggled to keep him back. "All that relic has done to you is twist your mind every time you put it on. This is for your own good and for the good of Equestria!"
"NO, I NEED IT!!" The stallion shouted with desperation and anger. "IT HELPED ME WITH MY PROBLEMS AND EVERYTHING!! YOU CAN'T… Y-You can't…" The stallion trailed off as he was starting to calm down when Mistmane used her magic to calm him down.
"Sir, please, all this relic has done is warped and twisted your mind." She spoke with a coming tone. "You may not remember when you were under its influence, but you've hurt so many that have wronged you and those that were close to you. This will be for your own good and so no pony else will get hurt by it ever again."
"Alright, that should be deep enough." Rockhoof said as he was finished digging before he climbed out of the hole. Star Swirl then used his magic to lift the box and placed it into the hole before letting Rockhoof fill up the hole.
"Star Swirl, what happens if none of us are around and somepony ends up finding this relic?" Meadowbrook questioned as Star Swirl let out a sigh.
"Then may Faust have mercy on their soul." He replied with a furrowed brow as thunder roared and lightning clashed while the chest was being covered in muddy dirt.
Many moons later, the spot of where they buried the relic now resides in a sewer underneath a city known as Manehattan. Two construction unicorn stallions were in said sewer as they seem to be drooling into a wall. "Are we sure this is the spot?" One asked the other.
"Well, there seems to be a lot of water leaking out from this wall." The other one mentioned. "It must be a broken pipe or something if this much water is leaking out." As they continued to drill away at the wall, it seemed like they weren't making much progress until the first stallion noticed cracks starting to form.
"Hey, I think we're finally breaking throu-GAH!!" The wall then burst in a flood of water coming out. The two stallions would have drowned if they had not quickly grabbed hold of a nearby ladder and climbed themselves up. They didn't even notice the broken chest and rusted chains that floated in the water and started to be pulled by the stream of the sewers. Among the destroyed wreckage of the chest, a strange item was floating along.
It seemed to be an old mask of the Viking type made of wood and being of Scandinavian origin due to its design, having a shape of a concave triangle made of wood with the top being cut in a straight horizontal line with wide and distorted vertical bands on the front surface and cracks of wood around it as well as on the back of the artifact as well, with it being painted a dull dark green color with some small parts being painted brown and having on its surface three small holes; two for the eyes and one for the mouth as the hole in the shape of a mouth looked to be smiling, with a piece of metal made of bronze or painted rusty metal that lies between the nose and the holes of the eyes and mouth on the front surface and bearing around this piece for four spherical metal points stamped on the metal piece and a fifth larger spherical point with an "L" letter stamped in the center of this point, located at the top of the metal part where the forehead is.
The other side of the mask seemed to let out a faint green glow as it floated away.
Up in Canterlot castle, Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship and soon to be ruler of Equestria, was seen in the ballroom with a checklist as she and her friends were setting up a party. Applejack was helping the chefs with the banquet while Rarity was putting up some decorations with Pinkie Pie. "Okay, now we just need the special flowers I asked Rainbow and Fluttershy together." Twilight mentioned after checking the list.
"It was a good idea to have a celebration for the one year anniversary we brought back the Pillars of Light and Stygian from Limbo." Pinkie mentioned after using her party Cannon to unleash a big blast of confetti which decorated an entire wall.
"It has been a whole year since we did pull them out, and we did defeat the Pony of Shadows with them as well." Rarity added as she used her magic to tie up a beautiful bow around the stage of the ballroom.
"And they've been enjoying their new lives since coming back." Applejack mentioned just as Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were flying in with some flowers.
"Hey, found those flowers you asked for!" Rainbow called out as she and Fluttershy set the flowers down on the stage. "It was a lot easier to get them thanks to Fluttershy."
"Oh, all I did was ask some animals for some help in finding them." Fluttershy mentioned with a small smile. "They were more than happy to help."
"That's what we like most about you Fluttershy, your kindness is always the best out of all of us." Twilight complimented as Rarity was already using the flowers to help decorate the ballroom. Just as Fluttershy was about to step back to help out, she accidentally bumped into a familiar white unicorn stallion, with a blonde mane while wearing a tux: Prince Blueblood.
"Excuse you, watch where you're going!" He told her with irritation.
"O-Oh, I'm sorry… I-I didn't…" Fluttershy muttered before Blueblood let out an annoyed sigh.
"It's you, the crazy pegasus mare who nearly trampled me to death with a bunch of wild animals from my aunt's garden." He said with a look before looking at her with a brow. "What is a spineless cowardly pegasus like you doing here anyway?"
"Hey watch it bub!" Rainbow exclaimed as she stood in front of him with a glare. "That's our friend you're talking to!"
"Yes, and if I were you, I would show a little more respect!" Rarity added with a look towards him. "After all, Fluttershy has helped us save Equestria more times than we care to count."
Blueblood only let out a small amused laugh before he pointed at Fluttershy. "Her, save Equestria?! We all know that she is nothing more than a spineless coward who shivers in fear at the first sign of danger." Fluttershy tried to say something before he continued on. "You five are the ones who do all the work, as any mare should, but this one is more like a mascot. She isn't brave in the slightest bit." Fluttershy started to tear up from his insults before she started to run out of the room crying.
Suddenly, the others heard a loud smack echoing in the room before they saw Rarity standing in front of Blueblood with a red hoof mark on his cheek. "How dear you speak that way to Fluttershy, you brute!" Rarity told him with a glare.
"Yeah, you're such a big meany panty bully!" Pinkie quickly added.
"Fluttershy helped me and the rest of us on plenty of friendship missions with her kindness, and ya don't have the right to call her those things!" Applejack told him before she spit near his hoof.
"For somepony who is the nephew of Celestia, you sure have a very rude mouth on you!" Twilight mentioned with a glare at him.
"Oh please, you're just a nopony who is just being handed the throne of Equestria." Blueblood replied to Twilight with an eye roll. "I should be the one who should be getting it, and I would have a word with my aunt about this!"
"Would you now?" They heard a familiar voice which made him freeze up before he turned around and saw Celestia standing before him as she had a look of disappointment on her face before she looked at Twilight with a small smile. "Twilight, why don't you and your friends go out and look for Fluttershy. I'm going to have a stern talk with my nephew."
Twilight nodded to Celestia with a bright smile before she and her friends headed out to find Fluttershy. Twilight stopped for a moment before she looked back at Blueblood. "By the way, you are not invited to this little party. I will let the guards know to keep you far away from the ballroom." She told Blueblood with a brow and a grin before leaving the ballroom as he turned towards his aunt.
"I was only speaking the truth!" They heard him tell Celestia as each of them had a grins on their faces as they could tell he's in for a very long lecture.
Meanwhile as the sun was starting to set, Fluttershy was by herself as she was weeping next to a river. The words that Blueblood told her echoed through her head as memories of her fillyhood flash through her head as every other filly and colt always made fun of her and was always bullied. "Oh, he's right…" She said to herself as she traced her hoof along the water of the river. "I'm not as brave or as strong as my friends… never have been and I never will be…" She then let out a sad sigh as she looked up at the sky. "I wish… I wish I was…"
Fluttershy suddenly stopped mid sentence when she felt something bump her hoof. She looked down at the river and saw the mask that had floated from Manehattan was floating next to her hoof. She grew curious when she saw the old mask in the river before she pulled it out and looked it over. "What is this?" She questioned as she had never seen a mask like this before. She turned the mask over before she saw a faint green glow going across the inside of the mask. The moment she saw the glow, it was almost as if she was in a trance as she was slowly bringing the mask closer to her face.
"Fluttershy!" She heard her friends calling out, which caused her to yelp and surprise whilst also snapping her out of her trance. She quickly hid the mask underneath her wing as she saw her friends approaching. "Fluttershy, we're so glad we found you." Twilight said with relief.
"Are you feeling okay, darling?" Rarity asked with concern. "You shouldn't let what Blueblood said get to you."
"She's right, he was just probably jealous of all of us if he said all those things." Rainbow mentioned. "You are one of the most awesomest ponies there ever was, not as awesome as me though but still awesome."
"Now come on!" Pinkie spoke up with excitement. "Everything is ready for the party, the pillars will be here soon, and the best part is Blueblood won't be invited!"
"Um thanks girls, but I don't think I'm in the mood to party." Fluttershy said as she stood up and started to walk away. "I think I'm going to go home for the night."
"Are ya sure, sugarcube?" Applejack asked as Fluttershy nodded in response before walking away from them.
"She just needs some time to cope from what just happened." Twilight told the others. "After what he said, it really hurt her." The girls soon went back to the castle with concerned looks on their faces for their friend Fluttershy, and Fluttershy forgot to show them The Mask she found in the river as it was still tucked under her wing while it still emanated a faint green glow.
In an unknown location, eight griffins were sitting around as they were either playing cards or just lounging around. "So when's the job again?" One of them questioned.
"At night time, during the party for those old ponies that came out of limbo or something." Another one answered which caused all the other griffins to let out an annoyed sigh. "Hey, hey, hey! Look, this job will be good for us. Four of us will cause a diversion, which will get all the guards' attention while the rest of us will go in incognito and snatch up that purple alicorn princess like we were asked to."
"Really? I thought she was violet." A third griffin mentioned.
"It doesn't matter what color she is! We just grab her and take far from here where they won't find her." The leader told the others.
"Hey boss, I just got a crazy idea." Another one spoke up. "What if we also hold her for ransom? You know, in case our client doesn't pay us, we hold the princess for a large ransom and we end up with a lot of royal big cash money?" The griffins were thinking about it for a moment before they grinned and nodded at the idea.
"Okay, we're definitely doing that after we grab that princess." The leader mentioned with a grin before he noticed the time. "It's almost showtime boys, let's get to work."
Soon night fell across Equestria as Fluttershy made it back to her cottage in Ponyville. She was sitting on a couch and reading a book titled 'The Masks we Wear'. "And as it shows, we all wear a mask to hide who we are on the inside out of fear of what others think or to make those believe we are what they think we are." She finished reading the book before closing it up and letting out a sad sigh. Angel Bunny then hopped in front of her before tapping his foot with a brow. "I know Angel, but I don't think I could go back to the party after what Prince Blueblood said."
She then gets off of the couch and pulls out the mask she fished out of the river before going over to a nearby mirror. "Maybe I should wear a mask, that way no pony will know that I'm a cowardly pony who wishes she was just as brave and as amazing as her friends." She mentioned before looking at the mask for a moment, then bringing it closer to her face. But then suddenly, she felt the mask trying to suck on to her before she quickly pulled it away with a shocked look. "What the…?"
She looked at the mask yet again as she noticed that the inside let out a faint green glow that mesmerized her while putting her in a trance yet again. Her animal friends made noises but she couldn't hear them as she was bringing the mask closer to her face. Soon the mask sucked itself right onto her face as it began to bend and stretch. She quickly snapped out of her trans as she felt the mask clean onto her as it was stretching until it covered her entire head. She tried to get it off before images of her friends flashed before her eyes. Then images of the bullies from her fillyhood flash, and the words from Blueblood echoed in her head yet again.
Fluttershy then narrowed her eyes as the thoughts of all the payback she wanted to do against those bullies ran through her head while her eyes suddenly glowed red. She soon let out a cry of agony while the mask seemed to be glowing green while it was becoming a bit more rubbery, causing all of her animal friends to quickly hide. Fluttershy then suddenly started to spin around like a tornado while bouncing around her cottage. Her constant spinning and bouncing around caused the lights to go out as her skeleton suddenly flashed in the tornado while she was still spinning. Soon she came to a screeching halt as the room was too dark to even see what happened to her.
Fluttershy stood in front of the mirror before opening her eyes, which had changed from blue to red as she suddenly had a big tooth grin on her face. "Ssssmokin'!" She declared with a completely different tone from her usual shy one before she suddenly ran out of the place.
Suddenly we saw through some sort of binoculars as we were suddenly looking right towards Canterlot Castle. The binoculars suddenly zoomed in as one end showed a pair of red eyes blinking before it zoomed in closer towards a window which showed Prince Blueblood by himself. Fluttershy, who was holding the binoculars, had a grin on her face before she had them zoom in a little closer before the other end of the binoculars crashed through the window, startling him. "What the?!" Blueblood gasped when he saw the binoculars and a giant pair of eyes blinking at him. He then backed away a bit when the binoculars zoomed closer to him as he had a weirded out look on his face. "What the?!"
Suddenly, the binoculars fired something out as something tackled him and they both rolled on the ground. He was then suddenly pinned down to the ground by a pegasus mare who was wearing a light blue tuxedo and pants, while she was wearing a matching fedora and a pink feather on top of it. But what was most noticeable was her head, which looked a little big as it was light green with a dark green mane while her eyes were red. "Hey there Prince Duming, how are ya tonight?!" She questioned with Fluttershy's voice yet had a very confident tone.
"What the?!" Blueblood question before she leaned in closer to him.
"Penny for the dye job for yours!" She said with a wide grin.
"What the?!"
"What's on your mind, Blondie McDummy Face?!" She questioned him while leaning in closer as her face squished against his as she sounded angry.
"What the?!" Blueblood repeated before she picked him up by the tux.
"Say 'what the' again, say 'what the' again! I dare you, I double dare you, mother bucker! Say 'what the' one more Celestia dam time!!" She shouted with a grin.
"Wha--" Blueblood tried to say before he squealed when she suddenly pulled a wedgie over his head and then quickly took a picture of him as she was suddenly dressed like a reporter.
"Top story of the night: The prince of all dummies gets a mega wedgie!" She declared as she sounded like a radio narrator before she let out a cartoonish laugh. She then looked towards the fourth wall with a wide grin towards the readers. "Somepony stop me!" She declared as she was going to have a very fun night torturing Prince Blueblood.

There's a reason why I made a story of this because I've enjoyed the movie The Mask and I'm sort of watching the animated series on my phone on a website. Now I want to know what your favorite version of The Mask is because mine is the movie version.
