Soup Mining in Equestria
Admiral Biscuit's The Soup Must Flow stated that "Few ponies sitting down to a bowl of fresh cazuela ever think about the soup pipeline."
Spuds Terkel, reporter for the common pony, is here to profile the workers at the starting point of the pipeline, and quickly finds out that there's a lot more that goes into it than one would initially expect. He finds himself talking not only to soup miners, but also lumberjacks, distance runners, cooks, charcoal burners, and more. And not just ponies, but even the occasional griffon, mule, and minotaur expat.
This entire story is a tribute to Biscuit’s brilliantly odd idea and to his and Pineta’s expository stories, and stems from a comment I made on TSMF.
Additional thanks to AlwaysDressesInStyle, my pre-reader and editor. He has greatly improved the fluency of this story. Any remaining mistakes are mine, not his.
