//-------------------------------------------------------// The Period Chronicles -by Cool1n90- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Reflection Time! //-------------------------------------------------------// Reflection Time! “Yeah, so that’s what happened.” Rarity finished off. “At the waterpark?! Of all the other places?!” Pinkie yelled out, catching the attention of her mother who was trying to sleep in the bedroom next door. “Pinkamena Diane Pie!” She sternly called out through the door. “Please, keep your voice down. I could hear you from all across the globe.” Pinkie felt her blood rush to her face in embarrassment of having her friends watch her get chastised by her mother. “Sorry mum! I’ll keep the noise level a tad bit lower.” “That’s good enough. Goodnight girls.” She said, walking off. “Goodnight Mrs. Pie!” The girls said in unison before it appeared that Cloudy Quartz was out of earshot. “But like,” Fluttershy started. “Did you ever find out who that woman was?” Rarity cocked her head. “The lady that helped you in the bathroom.” “Oh, her? She disappeared right after talking to my mum!” Rainbow butted in. “She does seem the mysterious type.” Applejack commented. “Okay well, whose turn is it now?” Rarity said, expectedly. All the girls turned their heads to look at her. “I mean, come on darlings. I’m not going to be the only one to tell my story, you all have to too!” “Well, it’s only fair.” Sunset replied, looking at the others. “And since Rarity went first, she gets to choose who goes next.” Murmurs of agreement came from all the girls in the room. They all turned their faces to Rarity. “So, who's next, Rarity?” Fluttershy asked. Rarity put her two fingers to her chin in a thinking position. She eventually pointed to Rainbow Dash. “You.” Rarity pointed. “Eh, I assumed it’d be me anyway.” Rainbow said. “Might as well tell you guys.” “Yeah, we haven’t even heard hers, like, ever!” Pinkie chimed in. “I do remember her telling us about it, but not what happened!” Applejack added. “I’m invested.” “Alright, alright, you guys.” Rainbow settled the other girls in. “Buckle the buck up cuz this story is actually crazy.” “We’ll be the judge of that.” Twilight bluntly replied with. “Alright, so this is how it starts…” Author's Note sooooooo... eeyup:pinkiesmile: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiesmile.png //-------------------------------------------------------// How It Came Up //-------------------------------------------------------// How It Came Up “Everybody saaaaaaaaay Cheese Sandwich!!!” Pinkie yelled happily before clicking onto the camera icon, the light from the mobile device barely making the others accidentally blink, they were used to photos, except for Sunset whose eyes are currently watering as we speak. “Darn, I can never get used to that wretched light.” Sunset said, rubbing her eyes, stifling a giggle from the rest of the girls. “Oh, Sunset, You’ll get used to it.” Twilight replied, still giggling through the words “WOW Rarity, you’re literally so photogenic!” Sunset exclaimed. “I don’t know how you do that.” “Genetics, darling.” Rarity brushed off. Noticing the slightly confused looks of her friends’ faces. “My mother was a model.” She proudly announced. “Ohhhhh!” Were the initial reactions from her friends. “That’s so cool, Rarity!” Pinkie bursted out. “How long was she a model for?!” “When she was in her 20s, dear. I have pictures at my house and I can show them to you guys when you come over sometime!” “Your mum sounds like a fun person to hang around.” Fluttershy commented, in her usual meek voice, yet it was slightly louder since she was around her friends. “Yeah. But Rainbow Dash, you probably have the most awesome mum anyone could ever dream of!” Rarity added. “I’ve never heard of you ever getting grounded for anything.” “You’ve never been grounded?!” Applejack questioned, though she knew well enough that Rainbow's parents were slightly different from the others. “I find that hard to believe…” “Well, it is soooo true!” Rainbow retorted back. “I’m not even that bad of a teenager, my parents have no reason to ground me.” This emanated a “are you serious right neow” look from the others. “I do remember when I went over to Dashies’ house, there was a literal shrine dedicated to her in the living room!” Pinkie added. “Your parents are soooooooooo obsessed with you, and it’s a good thing too!” “Your parents have a “Rainbow Dash” shrine in their living room?!” Twilight yelled out, astonished. I mean, it wasn’t that surprising. Though Rainbow sucked at subjects like English and Maths, she was always so good at sports, and her parents are so proud of her for that, in fact, they’ve been celebrating and cheering for her since the day she was born, something like a shrine wouldn’t come off as surprising if you knew all these facts. “I’ve got to see that shrine before the day I die!” She added, throwing her arms up in the air then losing her balance and ending up with her back falling onto Fluttershys’ lap, she didn’t mind. After this whole convo ended, the girls decided to watch a movie, a psychological horror movie. The girls were laying on their bellies on the ground while watching the movie on Pinkies’ laptop, the upper parts of their torsos resting on pillows. Suddenly, “AHHHHH!!” Fluttershy screamed. “Fluttershy… This movie doesn’t have any jumpscares.” Rainbow bluntly said, right after pausing the movie, turning to face Fluttershy. “I-I know, I just thought of something scary.” She meekly replied with. “You guys can continue the movie, I’ll just play Block Blast on my phone.” They girls were used to this, Fluttershy is probably the most spooked person in the group, jumping up at the littlest things, except animals which she obviously adored. The girls just sighed and continued the movie. “Be right back, girls.” Twilight randomly said, awkwardly standing up. “Where are you going, Twilight?” Questioned Rarity. “To the bathroom, I’m not really feeling right.” Twilight replied. “Must be something I ate.” “She’s probably constipated!” Rainbow commented, trying hard to not laugh, earning a glare from both Rarity and Twilight. “What? It’s normal human nature, jeez louise.” “Rainbow Dash! That is extremely unladylike.” Rarity exclaimed, pouting to Rainbows’, what she would describe as ‘crude’ language. The rest of the girls were still watching the movie playing before them (except Fluttershy), although they could help but giggle at the convo going on in the background. “Ha ha, Rainbow.” Twilight rolled her eyes. “But no. The symptoms I’m going through right now don’t line up with dyschezia.” Rainbow made mocking ‘blah blah blah’ hand signs, getting a laugh out of the rest of the girls, Rarity also couldn’t help but swallow a giggle, so did Twilight, she cracked into a smile. “You guys don’t have to pause the movie, I’ll be back quickly then you can fill me in on what I missed.” And with that ending statement, walked off, closing the door behind her. The sounds of the footsteps slowly fading off as she appeared to make her way to the bathroom. The girls put their focus back onto the movie until suddenly, like one second later, the door swings open. “Do you girls have a pad, perchance?” Twilight nervously asked in a hushed voice. “It’s that time of the month again. I must’ve miscalculated my cycle.” She fidgeted with her fingers. Applejack paused the movie. “Oh, yeah I’ve got some in the bag,” Rainbow brushed off. “No need to be embarrassed about it, Twilight.” She added as she rummaged through her backpack to retrieve the object of interest, violently picking stuff out of the way with her left hand while digging through the bag with her right. Twilight stood over Rainbow as she tried to grab one of her pads, along with the other girls watching on. Sometimes Rainbow would accidentally pick up a random object and she would just throw it away before continuing her search. She grunted before just putting the bag upside down and spilling all its contents onto the floor. She quickly spread the objects apart from each other, not too far but far enough to identify the objects. The girls watched in bewilderment and amusement of how Dash was able to fit countless random objects into an average sized BOOKBAG, she was known to be a hoarder after all which didn’t really come off as a surprise. Rainbow could feel eyes on her. “Any minute now…” Applejack joked with a smug grin, a giggle coming out of Rarity and Fluttershy who still had her nose stuck to her phone. During the midst of the hunt, Pinkie Pie had un-paused the movie, I guess she got too bored of watching Rainbow desperately looking for a pad, must be the ADHD. “I’m trying, you guys are really making it awkward for me!” Rainbow replied back. “Aha!” Rainbow yelled out in a flash. “I finally found it!” She held up the object of desire proudly as if it were a trophy. “Thanks a bunch Rainbow!” Twilight exclaimed as she took the pad. “You’re a lifesaver.” She walked through the door, once again and made her way to the bathroom, footsteps giving it away. After a moment she came back. The movie was still on but this time the light was off, the only source of light coming from the laptop screen. “Ya feeling alright, sugarcube?” Applejack asked as Twilight sat next to Fluttershy. “Ya got any cramps?” “I’m fine, thanks for asking though.” Twilight replied. “Usually my periods don’t hurt much.” She sounded relieved. “We’re here if you need anything, darling.” Rarity joined as she got up to rub Twilights shoulder with a warm smile. “Thanks.” She replied, putting her hand on Raritys'. “But again, it’s just a period, you guys act like I’m suffering from an incurable chronic illness.” “Nonsense, darling!” Rarity exclaimed. “Us girls must stick together.” A couple of “mhm” and “yup”s came from around the room. Twilight was happy to have such nice friends, or just friends in general. Rarity snuggled up next to Twilight with her head on Twilight's shoulder, it was silent except for the sounds emanating from the laptop screen, it was tranquil. By the way, Sunset had been sleeping this whole time but everyone just let her sleep. Rainbow paused the movie and everybody (but Fluttershy) groaned, what was it this time? “Rarity, remember that time when we were at that one water park in eighth grade?” Rainbow abruptly said before anyone could start complaining about the movie being constantly paused. “Like when you first got your period?” “Oh dear, don’t get me started.” Rarity moaned as she put her head back, in an unladylike fashion which is extremely unlike her. “I genuinely thought I was dying.” “Oh, this we've gotta hear!” Pinkie piped up. The others hadn’t noticed how quiet she’d been up to this point, very un-Pinkie Pie of her. "Sunset! Wake up!" She violently shook Sunset awake who groaned disappointedly. "Is it morning?" She grumbled, her eyes not even open yet. This got a laugh from all the other girls. "No, silly!" Pinkie retorted back. "It's nine pm! Get up!" Sunset slowly sat up, eyes still furrowed as they were while she was asleep. "What's happening?" Sunsets mouth tasted weird, you know, morning weird (except it wasn't the morning). She smacked her lips for awhile, trying to process everything the meantime. "Rarity's telling us her first period experience story." Fluttershy answered back. "Oh," Was all Sunset managed to say. "Then by all means, continue." Rarity sighed. “Okay so…” Author's Note First period story I'm writing lolsies //-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity's Story //-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity's Story *BEEP BEEP* “Rainbow Dash! I told you so many times to stop that.” This is one of the few times Rainbows mother had been this firm. Immediately, Rainbow sat back down in the middle backseat after getting up and repeatedly pressing on the honk thingy majiggy. Rainbow was in baggy shorts and t-shirt but underneath she wore a rainbow one piece swimsuit. Her mother, Windy Whistles, was taking both Rarity and Rainbow to Canterlot City Waterpark. It was around thirty degrees celsius and everyone was cranky due to the heat, including Rainbow and her mother. “I’m sorry, pumpkin.” Windys tone took a gentle turn as she turned around back in her car seat. “Mummy’s just really miffed due to the weather.” Windy had a habit of baby talking Rainbow Dash, ignoring the fact that she’s literally thirteen now. She (sometimes) doesn’t complain since it usually gets her out of trouble anyway. “Muuuuuuuuum! I’m in the eighth grade, don’t talk to me like that.” She pouted. Windy reached her arm through to gently pinch her cheeks but Rainbow just avoided her like the plague. “One day when you’re old enough to get married and have kids,” Rainbow recoiled in disgust at hearing the word ‘married’. “you’re gonna start wishing for your mother back.” Windy guilt tripped, it never worked. “Yeah, yeah, mum, but Rarity's taking so looooooong.” She groaned. She stared out the window on her left side once more and sure enough, she still wasn’t there. “Probably working on her make-up and tryna look pretty for the boys," Rainbow thought. Rainbow was just about to reach for the honk button until a familiar voice called out from outside. “I’m here! I’m here!” Rarity yelled, walking towards the car. She was in a (slightly transparent) sundress and she was supposedly wearing a frilly two piece swimsuit (with the bottoms being short shorts) underneath. She sat on the left hand side of the car. “Sorry I took too long, I was just finishing up with curling my hair.” “Thought so,” Rainbow thought, then it hit her. “Wait… why're you curling your hair if it’s just gonna get wet?” Rarity sputtered some unintelligible words before replying. “You don’t expect me to actually go in the water, do you?” Rarity asked, flabbergasted. “Uhm, yes!? It’s a waterpark.” Rainbow slapped her forehead and groaned. Windy was seen talking to Cookie Crumbles, Raritys’ mother, through the window. Alas, they bid their farewells and Windy turned to the girls in the back. “Are you girls ready to head off?” Windy cheerfully asked. “Heck yeah!” Rainbow answered back enthusiastically, punching the air above her, Rarity gave a graceful nod though one could tell she barely kept her excitement. Windy starts up the car and drives off. After a thirty minute drive (due to traffic) of Rarity and Rainbow watching ‘try not to laugh’ videos on youtube (Rainbow laughed at every single one, even the ones that weren't funny), they finally made it at Canterlot Waterpark. Rainbow was over the moon and barely helped set up (Rarity did). Once everything was set, they were set off for an awesome time at the waterpark, or was it… Everything felt fine for Rarity, she had her legs dipped in the pool water (she doesn’t have her sundress on anymore, Rainbow and all the other kids were splashing about in the water, almost getting the water on Raritys’ beautiful hair and Windy was just beside her if she needed anything, everything should be alright, right? Suddenly she felt something, and it wasn’t anything she’d ever felt before. She obviously didn’t like it. She turned to Windy. “I’m going to use the bathroom.” She just said before walking off. “Be careful!” Windy yelled from where she was sitting. “And don’t talk to strangers!” Rarity acknowledged her by turning around and waving a little before turning back ‘round and making her way to the powder room. On the way, she swore she felt something drip from her privates, yup, she was sure she was dying. She finally made it to the restroom and raced to one of the cubicles. She didn’t even need to use the toilet but just wanted to check what was happening down there. She sat on the toilet seat (after wiping it down with tons of tissue) and pulled down her swimming shorts, then her underwear (yes, underwear under swimsuits) only to discover a pool of blood (it actually wasn’t a lot of blood, it was actually just a speck of it, barely). “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” The horrified and undignified scream that echoed through the bathroom gathered the attention of the ladies nearby, one of them coming to Rarity’s aid, knocking on the cubicle. “Are you okay in there dear?” The woman said through the door, putting her ear against it, awaiting Raritys’ response. Rarity was so close to passing out right then and there and was barely breathing, she couldn’t come up with anything to say. She felt a lump in her throat, that lump now turning to the size of a tennis ball and with every nerve wracking second, getting bigger. She couldn’t hold it any longer, she burst into tears. The lady knocked again. “Are you locked inside, sweetie? Do you need any help?” The woman kept asking questions, she was not gonna leave Rarity until everything was sorted out. Her voice was gentle, warm and sounded concerned, it gave Rarity a sense of reassurance, and so she decided to finally speak out. “I’m bleeding!” Rarity exclaimed, there was fear in her voice. “I’m dying!” She continued her ugly crying, actually, everything about this was ugly. “Oh, sweetie…” The lady started. “Here, come out of there, I’ll help you.” “*sniff* Okay…” She gently and slowly twisted the door lock and there in front of her was a tall woman. Ebony skin and dirty blue hair (the hair is ‘dirty blue’, it’s not actually dirty). She had lots of tattoos across her arms and legs and she was also crouching down to Rarity’s level. Raritys’ face was streaked with mascara dried tears with overlapping RUNNING tears, she looked a mess. Normally she would care about what she looked like, but all she cared about right now was signing off her will and fortunes to all her friends and loved ones. On the other hand, the tall woman thought that Rarity would turn out to be a much younger girl, probably one around the grades five to six, due to her high-pitched shriek. Still, she kept her gentle tone. “Okay, what’s your name and how old are you?” She asked, putting a hand on her shoulder. Rarity started to face down in embarrassment with her now messed up hair covering some of her face. She pulled the stray strands of hair behind her ear (kinda like how Fluttershy does it), and looked up again. She gathered up all the courage to speak. “M-my name is Rarity and I’m thirteen..” She meekly answered, which was unlike her. “Why do you want to know my a-age?” She asked, still quietly sniffing. “Okay Rarity. My name is Chrysalis but my friends call me Chrissy.” She said, not responding to the question, yet. “The reason I asked for your age was because this is normal, you’re not dying.” The woman, Chrysalis handled it really nicely though she was confused on why Rarity hadn’t had the talk prior. Rarity was confused when it suddenly hit her. It was her period, how could she not even realise?! Blood rushed to her face when she realised that fact and she awkwardly turned her head away from the older woman. She could recall the day Applejack got her period, pretty sure three of the girls had gotten it in the sixth grade, though they were all very cryptic about it. “Oh, yeah.” Was all Rarity mumbled before Chrysalis put her other hand into her pocket, retrieving some tissues and started gently wiping away some of Raritys’ tears. After doing so, she threw the tissue in the bin (literally), which was basically far from her and began to dig into her purse, pulling out a pad. She ripped open the plastic surrounding and once again threw it in the bin, I mean seriously, this girl should be a professional basketball player! “Do you know how to put it on?” Rarity shook her head. “Okay. So you use these wings, right?” She pointed to the wings on each side of the pad, Rarity looked on. “With those wings, you peel off the plastic on them, including the side under the pad and stick it onto your underwear.” She demonstrated (I suck at explaining stuff like this lolsies). Rarity understood and she walked back inside the cubicle, carrying the pad that Chrysalis had handed to her. It probably was that hard to mess up, right? I mean, Rarity is a quick learner. She’d watch videos on how to do different stitches on fabric like once and she would be able to master them all without having to watch them twice, she could get through this. “I’ll be out here if you need anything.” Chrysalis called out from behind the cubicle door. “Don’t be afraid to ask for help.” Meanwhile, Windy was getting kinda worried. Rarity had gone to the restrooms for quite some time now and she was slightly scared something might’ve happened to her. Rainbow Dash had kind of forgotten Rarity was here at the waterpark with her, she was too preoccupied playing ball with other kids and splashing water on all the adults. Dash noticed the concerned look on her mothers face and that's when it clicked that she hadn’t heard any endless annoying whining and complaining comments and sounds for what seemed to be about fifteen minutes. Windy, fearing for the worst, was just about to make her way to the bathroom to make sure Rarity was alright when all of a sudden she sees Rarity walk out with a random ass woman, Chrysalis. Rarity and Windy’s eyes finally make contact and Rarity walks over towards her. “Are you alright? You were gone for quite some time!” Windy questioned, checking Rarity for any sort of bruises, in a maternal sort of way. “I’m alright now, all thanks to Chrysalis!” Rarity moved out of the way and went over towards Rainbow Dash. “Did something happen to her? Did she get sick?” Windy asked, she was so confused. “Relax, Rarity just got her first period.” Chrysalis dropped the bomb. Windy was surprised, I mean, it was inevitable after all, she just didn’t know anything like that was gonna happen today, of all the days too. Still, this was a day to celebrate Rarity on her path to womanhood. She turned her attention back to the woman in front of her. “Chrysalis, right? Thanks so much for being there for her, at first I assumed the worst.” She turned to look at Rarity who was sitting in the same spot prior to all of this. “Can’t imagine what she’s going through right now.” She turned around to thank Chrysalis once more but she suddenly vanished from the face of earth. “Strange woman…” Windy muttered to herself. She walked over back to where she was sitting. Rainbow sat beside Rarity. “Soooo, what happened there? Didya pee yourself or something?” Rarity glared at Rainbow before speaking up. “I got my period.” She proudly bragged. Rainbow was surprised and disappointed, it really was gonna be her to get her period last. Despite her disappointment, she was happy for Rarity. “So that means, you’re like.. A woman now!!?” She yelled out loud, catching the attention of some of the other swimmers. “Shshshsh!” Rarity shushed. “But yes, I’m a woman now.” She proudly admitted. “That’s so awesome!” Rainbow quietly exclaimed with a cheerful expression. “Girls! Get ready to leave, we’ll be heading back home soon!” Windy suddenly mentioned. It was evening and the weather was starting to cool off, probably best if they left now, plus the people at the waterpark were leaving with every new second. They packed everything up, (Rainbow Dash actually helped this time) and went off to the changing rooms to replace their wet swimsuits (or in Rarity's case, dry) with casual clothing. In the car, Windy was talking about things Rarity should be aware of during her menstrual cycle, even specifically telling her not to swim with a pad on, which is extremely unlikely for Rarity to do, but… just in case. After the drive to Rarity's house (to drop her off) and her and Rainbow bidding their goodbyes, Windy and Rarity had a chat with Cookie, on her porch. “Hey Cookie, today was a blast and the girls had tons of fun, als-” Windy started, not long though since Rarity couldn’t handle her excitement and cut her off. “I’m a woman now!” She exclaimed happily before skipping happily towards her room, Pinkie Pie style. Cookie knew exactly what she meant. She turned back to Windy and asked, already knowing the answer; “She got her period?!” She asked, smiling. “Yes! But don’t worry, we’ve got all sorted out over there, and I already gave her a lil talk about it.” Windy answered back, giving her closure. “My baby girl is growing up so fast… Seems like yesterday she was-” Cookie began to reminisce, before being cut off by her daughter who was still inside the house. “Mother! Please?” Rarity deliberately interrupted. “You’re acting like I’m going off to college.” Sounds like the mood swings if you asked me… Cookie sighed. To her, it wouldn’t be long till Rarity leaves for college, that thought alone was making her a little emotional. It was dark now and Windy just finished up her short convo with Rarity’s mother and was heading off towards her car to head home. This sure had been an eventful day for Rarity. Author's Note I know when I wrote this I made Rarity's personality out to be like someone during the ages 10-12, but it just happened and I went along with it:ajsleepy: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/ajsleepy.png and I also know that the start shifts from Rainbow Dash to Rarity but that was just cause I wanted to show both sides, but I couldn't. So at first it basically sounded this was Rainbows period story, sorry for thattt anywho this took like 3 days due to procastination lolsiesssss
