Chapter 5. Twilight's realization
Twilight tried to rest in her bed, still feeling incredibly insulted by her brother's outburst at the rehearsal.
It's not that she felt he was judging her, he stated that he was nothing but supportive, but she felt like he was just too overprotective for his own good.
Why couldn't she just marry somepony without having him peer over her shoulder?!
"Is everything alright dear?" Her bride asked her concerned...
"No, I'm still incredibly upset at Shining Armor..."
"That's understandable, why shouldn't you be able to marry a mare like me?" She asked, as she wrapped her hoof around the purple unicorn.
"Cadance, it's not that I feel that Shining is homophobic, it's that he feels that I can't just marry somepony without his constant supervision and monitorization! It's as if he doesn't trust me at all..."
"Oh... Of course, I knew that. I've known Shining Armor for as long as I've known you, and he always seemed like a great guy. But THIS? Completely unacceptable."
"Really? Because I know you and Shining didn't interact that much, your focus was mainly on foalsitting me. How could you know that?"
"Well, what I meant was that I spent little time with him compared to you."
"That's exactly what I meant."
"Oh, well..."
"Cadance... Are you feeling alright? You're memories seem to be a bit hazy..."
"No they're not! I remember everything! Clear as day."
"Really? Do you remember our sunshine sunshine dance?"
...
"What?..."
"Our dance, the one we played everyday we saw each other. Something we do even in adulthood, do you remember?"
"Yes! Yes of course, our dance. It went... Sunshine, sunshine, Caterpillars, asleep?..."
Twilight stared at her bride suspiciously...
"Well, it's been fun but I really have to continue preparing for our big day..." Twilight's bride declared, as she opened the door with green magic.
"What happened to your magic?"
"Huh?"
"Your blue magic, it's green now..."
...............................
Twilight begun to place the pieces together...
She misremembered her interactions with Shining Armor, she doesn't remember their sunshine dance, and her magic was now green...
"My Celestia... You're not Cadance! Who are you and what have you done with her-?!"
In a fit, "Cadance" casted another spell on the purple unicorn, she tried to resist it, but it was no use.
The spell took a grip on her mind, as she fell into a dazed trance...
"Your bride is right here, my dear. Everything is fine, isn't that right?"
"Mmm hmm..." Twilight mindlessly nodded her head.
"Perfect, now if you'll excuse me, I have to prepare our special day..." "Cadance" stated, as she left Twilight standing there, not doing anything...

Chapter 1. Interesting news
The element bearers were enjoying a lovely day on a picnic, chatting over what they've been up to and the like.
"What a lovely summer day, wouldn't you agree girls?" Rarity asked her friends.
"Yup! Nothing like chillin on a bright sunny afternoon to enjoy to relax our hooves!" Pinkie stated while resting on the grass.
"I just wonder what Twilight's up to, she isn't normally absent for our picnic get togethers." Fluttershy pondered.
"Perhaps she is busy getting something for her to properly enjoy our get together, to feel more comfortable staying outdoors for so long." Applejack speculated.
"Well whatever it is can't she get it done faster?" Rainbow Dash whined, until they all heard the clopping of hoof steps approaching them quickly.
"Girls! Girls! I have very special news for all of you!" Twilight exclaimed rushing over to her friends, with the biggest smile they've ever seen her wore.
"Ooooooo! What it is?!" Pinkie asked, so happy to see her friend so happy.
"It's the most wonderful, most incredible, most special day of my life! I've never been so happy!"
"Well? What is it?! Tell us!" RD complained, not in the mood for waiting any longer.
"I'm getting married!" Twilight revealed, earning several gasps from her friends.
"To whom? You never once told us about your love life." Rarity asked her purple fellow unicorn.
"Well, I have been spending some time in Canterlot recently."
"Oh, of course! How could we forget? Twilight takes trips back to Canterlot to spend time with old friends and family." AJ just remembered.
"So? That still doesn't excuse the fact that she's been secretive of dating anypony. And besides, just who are you getting married to anyway?" RD questioned.
"Well, only the most amazing, most beautiful, most caring, most kind pony ever! Princess Cadance!" Twilight fawned, earning several blinks from her friends.......
"Umm, who?" RD asked Twilight to repeat.
"Celestia's niece?" Twilight reminded, making her friends even more confused.
"Celestia has a niece?" Applejack was confused...
"Well I suppose not everypony knows about Celestia's relatives, besides her sister of course. Regardless, I've known Cadance for a very long time. She actually used to foalsit for me when I was a filly."
"Umm, what?..." RD was a bit disturbed by this revelation.
"Well, I'm a legal adult mare now aren't I?"
"Well, yes. But I think what RD meant was that based on how long you've known her, and how old you were, if it's completely morally acceptable." AJ specified.
"Well, we didn't have that kind of feelings for each other back then, that kind of emotional spark didn't happen until we got older... She's... she's just a very beautiful, and very kind pony I just... I just can't help myself! I feel like I'm gonna....." Twilight promptly fainted.
"Ooh, boy..." RD face hoofed.
"Well, I suppose if what you say is true, and you are at a legal age to see who you like, and you both love each other very much, then I guess it's ok." Fluttershy accepted Twilight's decision.
"Oh that reminds me! You will all be playing a part at our wedding! Princess Celestia asked me to give you all this pamphlet." Twilight lifted a letter with her magic.
Rarity took it with her magic, and begun to open and read from it.
"'To Twilight's friends, I am sure you are all excited as I am for the upcoming wedding in Canterlot. I will be presiding over the ceremony, but would very much like you all to help with the preparations for this wonderful occasion. Fluttershy, you will provide the music with your songbird choir, Pinkie Pie, you will host the reception, Applejack, you will be in charge of the catering for the reception, Rainbow Dash will perform a sonic rainboom when the bride and groom finish their I do's, and Rarity will design the dresses for the brides and bridesmaids...' ME?! Designing the dresses... for a Canterlot wed-edding ahh..." Rarity fell unconscious.
"Ok, but getting to perform a SONIC RAINBOOM at a wedding?! Best, wedding, EVER!" RD's mood was lifted as she pumped her hoof into the air.
"Well all I have to say is congratulations Twilight, you've really come a long way..." AJ cried, as she hugged her friend tightly.
"Calm down AJ, I'll still have time for all of you. It's not like it's the end of the world."
"I know, I'm just really proud of you right now. Come on, let's not waste any more time. We got to prepare your special day, right girls?" AJ asked her friends, as they all nodded in agreement.
"Well, what are we waiting for?! To Canterlot ladies!" Pinkie exclaimed, as they all headed for the train to prepare their friend's happiest day.

Chapter 2. left out family
As the train made it's way towards Canterlot, the ponies plus dragon all discussed their plans for the after party after the wedding. However, AJ couldn't help but notice Twilight staring out the window for some reason...
"Is everything alright sugar cube?"
"I just hope that Shining Armor doesn't feel like I abandoned him, we've always been so close."
"Who is Shining Armor?"
"He's my brother, he's the royal guard in Canterlot. He has a very important task of keeping a threat made against the capital at bay with a forcefield that only he can conjure up. And I would hate to make him feel that I put my marriage over him."
"I'm sure that he knows you'll always be there for him Twi, but I do hope things get better there..."
"I hope so too..."
Eventually, the train made it to Canterlot, as it passed through a pink bubblegum forcefield surrounding the entire capital.
When the train parked and stopped, the seven noticed all the guards surrounding the station.
"What's with all the tight security around the joint?" Dash asked.
"Perhaps they are taking extra precautions to make sure no one disrupts the wedding." Rarity speculated.
"You all take your time adjusting, but I have to go see my brother to make sure he's doing ok." Twilight stated, as she headed inside to check on her brother, leaving her friends concerned.
Meanwhile, Shining Armor was railing the troops to head to their posts.
"Shining Armor!" Twilight called from below, when the guards aimed their spears at the unicorn.
"AHEM! That would be one of the brides, soldiers." Shining affirmed his troops.
"Apologies Captain, we were very alert, but it won't happen again." A guard conformed, as they left the captain to catch up with his sister.
"Shining! I missed you so much! How is everything in Canterlot?" Twilight asked.
"Things could be going a bit better, protecting Canterlot all by myself isn't easy, and even worse, it's giving me terrible migraines..."
"Oh, I'm so sorry... I just want you to know that if there's anything I can do to-"
"No no! You deserve to relax and enjoy your special day. I wouldn't want my royal duties to become a burden to you."
"Shining, you're not a burden, you're my BBBFF. And that'll never change."
"Thanks sis." Shining Armor hugged his LSBFF tightly, which she warmly reciprocated.
"But back to the topic at hoof, how is Cadance doing? Is everything alright with her?" Twilight asked.
"Actually, I haven't heard from Cadance ever since the two of you started planning your wedding. Whatever she's doing, it must be important."
"Well I need to see her to make sure she's prepared." Twilight stated, but before one of them could say any more, they heard a hoof step near them.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything important?"
"Oh! No, we were just talking about you, making sure you are able to prepare for your big day."
"Well of course I am. But Captain Shining Armor, can I go see your sister please?"
"Umm, ok?..."
Shining merely watched as Twilight's bride wrapped her hoof around her.
"You go on and perform your duties, while Cadance checks in on the wedding preparations. I'll be checking in on them as well to make sure everything goes as plan-"
"No, I should check in on them. You don't deserve to be stressed on your wedding day." Shining assured his sister.
"Really?... But you have to keep the barrier standing."
"I can multi task, I just wanna make sure that everything goes perfect for your wedding. Don't you trust me sis?..."
"Ok... But just so you know we are incredibly happy that you get to spend the day at our happiest moment, right dear?" Twilight asked her bride.
"Absolutely..."
As the brides left to their rooms, Shining Armor couldn't help but feel that something very strange was happening right under his nose...

Chapter 3. Uneasy preparations
The captain of the royal guard kept his close eye on the catering preparation, as he levitated a checklist checking everything off.
"Cake, check. Ice sculpture, check. Best darn bite-size apple fritter I ever tasted?" AJ ate the apple to make sure.
"Check!" She conformed, as she swallowed it whole.
"I just can't believe Twilight is getting married! It feels like just yesterday I was helping her with her studies for one of her friendship reports."
"Spike, that WAS yesterday." Shining Armor assured.
"I know! Where did the years go by?" Spike asked, as Shining merely let out a sigh, until they were suddenly interrupted by the doors opening.
"Hiya princess!"
"Please, call me Princess Mi Amore Cadenza."
Shining Armor raised an eyebrow at her request...
"Hiya Princess Mi Amore Cadenza! You've come to check out what's on the menu for your big day?"
"I have."
The bride made her way to the fritters as the captain watched her closely...
"Mmm, delicious. I love, love, love them!"
"Aww shucks, why don't you take a few to go?"
Hesitantly, she took the bag.
"I know how you brides can be. So busy, you forget to get a little somethin' in your belly."
However, she stopped when she reached the door.
Shining stared for a while, until she threw the bag in the trash.
Shining promptly gasped, before she shut the door with her magic behind her.
"Did you see what she just-?" Shining saw that Applejack was distracted with the catering, so he left in a huff to oversee the dresses.
Later...
"I mean, you should've seen the way she acted back there!"
"Shining Armor, darling, it's Princess Cadance's wedding day, I'm sure she's just stressed out because of all the extra work."
"Yes but that doesn't excuse her rude behavior! I don't know when she changed, but she changed! 'Please, call me Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.'"
"Did I hear someone say my name?"
"Your highness! Let me just start by saying what an honor it is to play a role in such a momentous occasion... Ah hah ha..."
"Uh huh, is my- I mean, our dresses ready?"
"Oh, well, I've been working on it ever since I was given the assignment, and I think you'll be pleased with the results."
"I was hoping for something with more beading and a longer train."
"Oh, yes, of course."
"And those should be a different color."
"I think they're lovely!"
"Me too!"
"I love them!"
The soon-to-be wife of Twilight Sparkle gave the bridesmaids a stern glare, as they recoiled in shame.
"Make them a different color." She then left without another word...
"Gee, maybe they should call her 'Princess Demandy pants.'" Shining Armor remarked, noticing Rarity couldn't respond, he left as well.
Later...
"Ok, we've been over the games," Pinkie went over the activities in the blink of an eye.
"The dances," She danced unlike any other pony who danced before.
"Oh! I think this reception is gonna be perfect! Don't you?"
"Perfect!.. IF we were celebrating a six year old's birthday party."
"GASP, thank you!"
Shining Armor witnessed the whole thing as he hid behind a pillar watching Twilight's supposed special somepony leave in a huff.
Later...
Shining Armor made it to a table where six ponies plus one dragon sat together.
"Hey! You're Twily's friends right? Mind if I joined you?" The captain asked politely.
"Why not at all, please have a seat." Rarity insisted.
"Bet I can guess what you're all thinking. Cadance is the absolute, WORST bride to be, EVER."
Twilight's friends all stared at Shining Armor with doubtful stares...
"Well, a LOT is going on at the moment. I'm sure that any rude behavior is the result of nerves." Rarity excused.
"But she was just so demanding!"
"Why it's her wedding day, why wouldn't she expect the very best?"
"Applejack is it? Did you know that after Cadance told you how much she 'loved, loved, loved' your fritters she threw them in the TRASH?"
"Ahh, she was probably just sparing my feelings."
"No, she was being fake, and totally insincere!"
"Well, she DID raise her voice when one of my birds sung for the choir."
"See? Rude!"
"But she WAS singing a teeny bit off key..."
"Not to be rude Captain, but don't you think you're being just a teeny bit possessive of your younger sister?"
"I am not being possessive, I just don't feel comfortable if my sister is making a bad decision and marrying somepony who is not worth marrying too!" Shining Armor stated, as he left in a huff...
Leaving his sister's friends terribly concerned...

Chapter 4. Twilight's choice in mares
Twilight tightened her dress, making sure it was fit for her big day, until she heard a knock on the door...
She opened it, and saw her older brother standing outside.
"Shiny! Come in!" She greeted with a smile.
"Your little sister looks pretty good, don't you think?..."
Shining did not respond.
"Is something wrong?" She asked.
"We need to talk, I think you're making a big mistake."
"Are-... Are you judging me?"
"No! I would never judge you! Twily, I want you to know that I'll always be supportive of who you decide to be with, it doesn't matter if it's a stallion or a mare, I'll still be proud. But that's not the point, I think there's something seriously wrong with Ca-"
He was interrupted by the mare herself coughing to grab their attention...
"Oh, hi sweetie. Hold that thought, what is it?" Twilight asked her soon to be wed.
"Could I speak to you for a moment, dear?"
"Better see what she wants."
"Ok... just, please be careful..." Shining begged his sister.
"I will." She assured, as she went inside the broom closet with her...
Shining Armor's concerns got the better of him, as he peeked inside the broom closet to see what they were talking about...
"Did you HAVE to wear a flower head on top of your dress?"
"I thought they looked pretty, and I thought you would like them."
"Well, I don't. So if you could just take it off..."
"And waste something I thought would look good at our important day?..."
"Are you disagreeing with me?"
"Yes! I-" Twilight suddenly begun to get an increasing headache..
"Oh dear, are you getting another of your headaches?"
Twilight fell unconscious, as she was blasted with green magic as her eyes swirled around dizzily.
Shining Armor could only watch in horror what happened to his little sister...
"Feeling better?"
Twilight gave a slight nod of conformation as she was lifted off the ground.
"She's not just unpleasant and rude... she's downright evil!" Shining quietly exclaimed, as he rushed to tell Twilight's friends the serious danger...
Twilight and her bride walked outside the closet.
"Shiny?" Twilight saw her brother rushing out the door...
"let him go."
"Weird, it looked like he had more to tell me..."
Meanwhile...
Shining Armor made his way to Twilight's friend's room.
"Twily is in danger! We have to help-!"
He paused when he saw they were all wearing dresses.
"Dresses?!"
"Can you believe it?! We're gonna be the new bridesmaids!"
"NEW bridesmaids?! What happened to the old bridesmaids?!"
"Cadance didn't say, but she said that she would just love, love, love it if we filled in for them."
"And you had your doubts about her."
"Oh! I can't wait to be a part of the wedding!"
"I guess I'm all on my own..." Shining merely looked down sadly, as he tried to find a way to save his sister.....
Later...
The rehearsal was in the middle of practice, as Twilight and her friends stood at the alter.
"Perfect girls, no need to rush." Celestia assured, as the bridesmaids giggled to themselves.
"Then of course Cadance will enter." Celestia stated, as the guards opened the doors to reveal the future second bride...
Twilight's eyes widened in happiness and anticipation...
The other bride then made her way towards the alter.
"I'll say a few words, and then we can begin with the vows."
They all paused when they noticed the captain was not present in the room.
"Hey, where's Shining Armor?" Twilight asked, as the doors suddenly opened right on time.
"I'm here! I'm not going to stand next to her! And neither should you!"
Twilight promptly cringed at her brother's embarrassing behavior...
"I'm sorry, I don't know why he's acting like this."
"Maybe we should just ignore him."
"You have to listen to me!"
"Are you alright there cap'n?"
"I'm fine!"
"Really? because?" RD was ignored as Shining continued with his rant.
"I've got something to say! SHE'S EVIL!" Shining pointed a hoof at Cadance, as Twilight stood in front defending her.
Everypony promptly chatted amongst themselves over the captain's accusations...
"She's been horrible to her friends, she's obviously done SOMETHING to her bridesmaids, and if that wasn't enough, I saw her cast a spell on my sister that made her eyes go all-!" Shining spun his eyes around crazily in demonstration.
Everypony could only stare, as Shining cornered Twilight's bride in frustration.
However, she merely begun to sob in tears.
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"Because you're evil! EVIL! And if I don't stop you, you're going to ruin my sister's life!" Shining Armor lashed out, as she ran out the hall in tears.
However, Shining Armor would soon find himself faced with a very angry little sister....
"I just can't believe you! You would really jump to conclusions because you're that cagey of me?! Do you want to know why my eyes went all-" Twilight mimicked Shining's demonstration from earlier.
"It's because ever since this whole wedding was being planned, I've been having intense stress bursts in fear that something may go wrong. Cadance hasn't been casting spells on me, she's been using her magic to calm me down. And the reason she decided to replace her bridesmaids, is because she found out the only reason they wanted to be IN the wedding, was so they could meet Canterlot royalty! And the reason she hasn't been on my best behavior with my friends, is because of you keeping the shield standing and me resting, she's had to make all the decisions on the wedding!"
"Yes but-" Shining tried to make an argument but it was futile.
"She's completely stressed out because she's trying her best to make sure our big day be PERFECT! Something that obviously wasn't important, TO YOU."
Shining tried to reach a hoof, but she denied it.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and comfort my bride. And if I were you... I wouldn't show up to the wedding..."
As Twilight left as Shining stared, the bridesmaids and Spike could only watch from a distance...
"Come on y'all, they both need our assistance..."
They all left to comfort their friend and her bride, as Shining stared glumly...
"I hope you're happy." Celestia dismissed her captain, as she left the room and shut the door behind her...
"Maybe I was being overprotective... I could've gained a sister... but instead... I lost my first and only one..."
"She was my little sister best friend... forever... But now we'll never do anything... together..."
As Shining Armor begun to cry, he soon heard hoof steps, as he felt a hoof gently rub his head and looked up...
"I'm sorry..."
Twilight's brides eyes flashed green...
"You WILL be."
Shining Armor's eyes widened, as he felt himself being pulled underground...
To his horror, green flames surrounded all over him, as he saw the bride merely watching with a sadistic grin.
As the captain was consumed by the floor, she walked away with an evil smile on her face...

Chapter 6. The bride and the imposter
Shining Armor's vision slowly begun to return to him, as he awoke to find nothing but darkness surrounding him...
He lit up his horn, but he still couldn't see very far.
"Hello?" He called out, hoping someone would respond, but nothing came.
"Is anypony here?..." He asked, only to bump into a reflection of himself.
The captain felt a cold shiver down his neck, as he was trapped in a location with seemingly no entrance or exit.
"What is this place?..." He stuttered.
"The caves beneath Canterlot, once home to greedy unicorns who wanted to claim the gems that could be found inside." The image of "Cadance" on the glass revealed, startling Shining Armor.
"And now... your prison."
"HELP ME!!!" Shining screamed, to no avail.
"It's no use! No one can hear you, and no one would ever think to look for you either. Most ponies have forgotten that these caves even exist, which is why they are the ideal place to keep the ones that try to interfere with my PLANS."
"Wha- what plans?..."
...
"The plans I have for your sister of course."
Shining Armor's eyes widened in horror, and as they did, a boiling rage fumed from within.
"Don't you DARE lay a HOOF on my little sister! You... YOU MONSTER!!!"
"Only way to-"
"She is one of the most special ponies in my life and you BETTER stay away from her you disgusting CRETIN!!!"
"Only-"
"Scum like you is why I always make sure my sister stays out of trouble!!!"
"Are you do-"
"So you STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!" The captain breathed in and out after his dramatic declaration.
"Well you know you are really taking all the fun out of this, so I'm just going to..." "Cadance"'s image begun to fade away.
"No! Don't you DARE LEAVE ME HERE!!!" Shining Armor blasted the crystal, which bounced all over the walls.
Until it hit and destroyed one of them, revealing Cadance from inside.
Enraged, the captain charged to tackle her.
"NO!!! Wait!" The princess begged, but Shining Armor pinned her to the ground.
"Please! Don't hurt me... Shining Armor it's me!" She insisted, but Shining stared at her doubtfully.
"Please! You have to believe me! I've been imprisoned like you, the Cadance who bought you down here was an imposter."
"A likely story! How can you PROVE it?"
"Listen to me! The imposter's magic was green! Mine's blue! See?" Cadance lit up her horn to reveal blue magic.
Confused, the captain let her go, as he remembered that one detail...
"What was that dance you did with Twilight all the time?..."
"It was sunshine, sunshine lady bugs awake. We did it all the time."
Shining Armor took in a deep breath, as he believed that she was telling the truth...
"I would always take care of your sister, you believe that right?..."
"Yes... I believe you, and I'm sorry..."
"It's ok..."
"Come on, we don't have any time to waste. We've got to stop her!" Shining Armor declared, as he and Cadance both rushed out of the caves to try and save Twilight...
Meanwhile, "Cadance" walked up to a mirror and placed a rose on her head.
"This day is going to be perfect, the kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small........ Everypony will gather round, say I look lovely in my gown. What they don't know is that I have fooled them all." "Cadance" sung, as her eyes glowed green.
"This day was going to be perfect, the kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small....... But instead of having cake, with all my friends to celebrate my wedding bells they may not ring for me at all." Cadance sung, as she stared into her reflection as Shining Armor looked on.
"I could care less, about the dress, I won't partake in any cake. Vows? Well I'll be lying when I say, that through any kind of weather I'll want us to be together. The truth is I don't care for her at all! No I do not love the bride for my heart is dead inside! But I still want her to be, all mine!" "Cadance" sung, as she smiled maliciously into the mirror.
"We must escape before it's too late, find a way to save the day! Hope? I'll be lying if I say, I don't fear that I may lose her to one who wants to use her! Not care for love and cherish her each day! For I oh so love the bride oh in my heart she does reside. Oh, Twilight Sparkle, I'll soon be by your side!" Cadance sung, as Shining Armor pushed the minecart below.
When they reached the bottom, they fell off, and Cadance used her wings to fly herself and Shining to the top.
Meanwhile, the wedding has officially begun, as the doors opened for the bride to enter the alter.
"Finally the moment has arrived, for me, to be one lucky bride." "Cadance" sung, as she made her way to the alter.
"Oh the wedding we won't make she'll end up marrying a fake, Twilight Sparkle will be......"
"Mine, all mine. Heh he he he he he he."

Chapter 7. Stopping the wedding
"Mares and gentlecolts, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, and Twilight Sparkle." Celestia's muffled voice could be heard beneath the Canterlot caves, as Shining and Cadance ran into a dead end.
"Oh... We're never going to save her!" Cadance lamented.
"We will! We just have to find... there!" Shining cried, as he teleported himself and Cadance to an upper platform with an entrance to the surface.
However, they would find that company would greet them shortly...
"You're not going anywhere..."
Later...
"Princess Cadance and Twilight Sparkle, it is my great pleasure to pronounce you-!"
"STOP!!!"
Everypony gasped in shock, as the captain had once again come between his sister and her "true love".
"Ugh! Why does he have to be so overprotective of his little sister?! "Cadance" complained, causing Celestia to look at her niece concerned.
"Why does he have to ruin my special day?" "Cadance" rephrased it while "sobbing".
"Because, it's not YOUR special day, IT'S MINE!!!" Cadance announced, causing several ponies to gasp in shock and horror.
"What?! But HOW did you escape my bridesmaids?!" "Cadance" questioned the ponies.
Earlier...
The three brainwashed bridesmaids cornered the captain and the princess, but Cadance picked up a bouquet and levitated it near them, grabbing their attention, she then tossed it into the caves.
"I WANT IT!!!" The three unicorns exclaimed, as they leaped towards where the bouquet was thrown.
Shining Armor and Cadance then made their way to the surface.
Currently...
"Hmph. Clever, but you're still too late!"
"I- I don't understand! How can there be two of 'em?"
"She's a changeling! She takes the form of somepony you love and gains power by feeding off your love for them!"
Enraged, and out of lies and tricks to save her stolen skin, Chrysalis shed her disguise and revealed her true form to everypony, as she laughed maniacally.
"You are right Princess, but I'm not just any changeling...... I am Chrysalis! Queen of the changelings! And it is up to me to find food for my subjects, Equestria has more LOVE then anyplace I've EVER encountered. My fellow changelings will be able to DEVOUR so much of it, that we will gain more power then we've ever DREAMED of!"
"They'll never get the chance! Shining Armor's protection spell will keep them from ever even reaching us!"
Chrysalis merely chuckled evilly.
"Oh? You mean the protection spell he was unable to perform after being trapped in the caves? THAT protection spell?"
Cadance could only recoil in horror, as Shining indeed couldn't keep his grip on the spell after being out of distance from it for so long...
"Ever since I took your place, I've been feeding off Twilight Sparkle's love for you. Every moment she grows weaker, while my minions chip away at your precious barrier."
The ponies looked outside to see an army of insectoid like creatures banging away at the shield, as Chrysalis laughed maniacally.
"She may not be my wife, but she is under my TOTAL control now!"
Cadance gasped in horror.
"And I'm sorry to say, unable to protect Equestria as the ELEMENT OF MAGIC!"
"Not my Twilight Sparkle!" Cadance cried.
"Soon, my changeling army will break through! First, we take Canterlot! And then, ALL of Equestria!"
"NO... You won't." Celestia stood up to the changeling queen.
She had hurt her most faithful student, somepony she was about to welcome into her family, and one of the ponies she most closely adored...
And now, she was going to make her PAY.
"You may have made it so that Shining Armor was unable to perform his spell, but now that you have so foolishly revealed your true self, I can protect my subjects, from YOU!" Celestia declared, as she fired her magic at the overgrown cockroach, to which she fired back.
For a second, it seemed like Celestia would be able to win, but Chrysalis's magic soon found itself overpowering hers...
As she gasped in horror, she was struck back by the changeling magic, as she fell to the ground weakened.
Everypony gasped in horror at the fall of their beloved Princess.
"CELESTIA!" Shining Armor cried, as he and Twilight's friends rushed over to help her.
Chrysalis blinked in confusion, before realizing the reason for her victory.
"Ahh! Twilight Sparkle's love for you is even stronger then I thought, consuming it has made me even more powerful then CELESTIA!"
"Princess, what do we do?..." The captain asked his superior...
"Without Twilight... the elements cannot be used... I don't know..." Celestia weakly stated, as the shield begun to collapse, and the changelings surrounded and attacked the capital.
"You know, Shining Armor was suspicious of my behavior all along... Too bad the rest of you were too busy caught in your wedding planning to realize those suspicions were correct! Hah ha ha!" Chrysalis mocked the ponies, as she flew over to the window to observe the destruction.
"Sorry Captain, we should've listened to you."
"It's not your fault, she fooled everypony."
"But it IS our fault! You knew something was up with Cadance from the start, and we didn't listen!" Fluttershy exclaimed.
"You're Twilight's brother. You always know what's best for her, and you know how to protect her..." AJ stated.
"Well, I couldn't protect her today..." Shining Armor teared up, staring at his brainwashed sister.
Cadance gazed at her hypnotized fiance, before walking over to her and trying to snap her out of it.
She embraced her with a hug, before a spark of her horn begun to form a heart.
It touched Twilight's head, and she was freed from her enchantment, as she rubbed her forehead.
"Wha-... Is the wedding over?" Twilight was confused, while Cadance and the others were delighted.
"It's ALL over!" Chrysalis boomed.
"Wha-?! Shining Armor! Perform your spell!" Twilight cried to her brother, but Chrysalis merely laughed.
"What good would that do?! My changelings already roam free!" Chrysalis laughed, as she pointed at the parasitical invasion happening outside.
"No! I have to stop this... I have to... I must... I'm too weak..." Twilight cried, as she tried to do the spell herself but was weak from Chrysalis's brainwashing.
"My love will give you strength." Cadance stated, as she grasped Twilight in a tight hug.
"Hah hah ha! What a lovely yet absolutely RIDICULOUS sentiment." Chrysalis merely mocked, as Twilight stared with contempt.
But then, Cadance and Twilight's horns begun to share their magic.
It started as a small spark, but then it ignited into an aura that eventually engulfed them both.
They both looked surprised at first, but then decided to just accept it.
Her friends and brother all looked with adoration as they saw the brides finally re-unite.
Chrysalis turned around and saw what was happening, as her jaw dropped in shock.
Eventually, the love Twilight and Cadance had for each other was so powerful it created a wave of magic that blasted all of Canterlot.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Chrysalis screamed in fury, as she was sent flying from Canterlot.
Eventually, the other changelings followed suit, as they too were sent packing along with their queen, all the way back to the changeling kingdom.
As gravity affected Cadance and Twilight again, they hugged in loving embrace.
Shining Armor rushed over to Celestia to help her up.
"I'm sorry..." Shining Armor apologized for earlier.
"You have nothing to apologize for, you were determined enough to protect your sister from harm, and was resilient enough to bring the real Cadance back to us. That is a sign of a true big brother." Celestia assured, as the captain's cheeks begun to rise.
"Now, without further ado, you have a real wedding to put together." Celestia stated, as Twilight's friends went to prepare the wedding for real...

Chapter 8. A proper ending
The inspection for the wedding went off properly as intended, Cadance tested the fritters and loved them, she didn't mind how her dresses looked, she quite enjoyed Fluttershy's songbird choir, and danced like no tomorrow at the reception.
All while Shining Armor checked it all down with a smile on his face.
Later...
The time for the wedding had come, as everypony plus dragon stood in their positions.
Eventually, the doors opened for the other bride to enter, as Twilight stared with anticipation.
"Seriously, I get why the queen of the changelings wanted to be with you, but how did you get someone as amazing as Cadance to marry you?"
"I told her she wouldn't just be gaining a wife, she'd be getting a pretty great brother too."
Shining could only smile happily, as Cadance made it to the alter, standing in front of Twilight.
"Mares and gentlecolts, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of the real Princess Mi Amore Cadenza-"
"Princess Cadance is fine."
"Hm. The union of Princess Cadance and Twilight Sparkle. The strength of their commitment is clear. The power of their love, undeniable. May we have the rings please?"
Shining Armor did the honors, and presented the rings to the two brides, who placed them on their horns
"I now pronounce you two, mares."
The crowd cheered in celebration as the two mares were finally wed.
And as they walked outside, they begun to kiss.
"Rainbow Dash, that's your cue." Celestia reminded the blue Pegasus.
"Oh yeah!" She then flew into the air and did her signature move.
"Best, wedding, ever!"
Later...
The afterparty had started, as the couple begun to take their leave.
But before they entered the chariot, Shining Armor rushed up to talk with his sister.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be more supportive of your love life."
"Hey, you're my big brother, you'll always matter to me. And I'm sorry for my behavior at the rehearsal, it was partially the brainwashing, but also that I wanted to feel comfortable choosing who I wanted to be with. But I still should've trusted my B.B.B.F.F." Twilight assured her brother, as he cried tears of happiness.
Twilight then went inside the chariot with her wife.
"Are you ready to go dear?"
"Oh! Almost forgot."
Cadance tossed the bouquet at the bridesmaids.
"IT'S MINE!!!" Rarity exclaimed pushing the mares out of the way, before they stared at her disappointed, causing her to give it to them sheepishly...
The chariot then pulled outside Canterlot, as they prepared to enjoy their happily ever after.
"Now THIS was a great wedding." The captain confidently stated.
"Oh yeah? Just wait until you see what I have planned for the bachelor party!"
Everypony could only laugh at Spike's comment.
"What?"
