Party of Two

February, known as being the shortest month of the year to many and for others it was the month of love and hearts. Though back in Equestria it would be hearts and hooves day which usually coincided with mating season for Equestrian mares and stallions, on Earth it was called Valentines day in reference to saint Valentine or so her research on the holiday told her. She'd also reason of a gangster massacre that had happened on this day in this worlds past and had even seen a movie about it with Rainbow Dash once. And of course when she was in highschool and even now that she was out of highschool the holiday was a big deal around Canterlot City and this year would be no different.

All of her friends had plans for the holiday, either with dates of their own or plans with family. In years past she had ventured over to Equestria to spend some 'quality time' with Princess Twilight as her heat cycle during this month in particular tended to be pretty bad and the Princess was fully capable of handling it. However this year that was a no go because Twilight would be busy overseeing Hearts and Hooves day not just for Ponyville but Canterlot as well as her position as the Princess of Friendship had grown greatly in the years since Celestia and Luna stepped down. They of course still handled raising and setting the sun & moon of course and would remain guardians of Equestria but they relinquished their royal standing to Twilight feeling that their reign and era had long since come to an end.

She was glad that Celestia was able to entrust such a big responsibility to Twilight and in turn Twilight had given Sunset the task of protecting the human world and its magic as this was her home now as the human Sunset Shimmer of this world had passed before she arrived and Sunset had sworn on the Elements of harmony that she would live her life to the fullest and make Twilight proud. All that being said she still wished she could find someone, ANYONE to spend Valentines day with even if it was just for a one night stand! The burning in her lions was KILLING HER and she wanted it to stop! Sure masturbation was a thing but she'd gotten bored of it and sure she could probably get anyone with a pulse in either Equestria or the human world to have sex with her; the fact she was hot and desirable was not lost on her but Sunset was...picky.

Not to mention the fact that her sex drive was truly abnormal compared to that of her friends and even normal pony's in Equestria. Her running theory was that it possibly had something to do with her connection to the sun because Celestia suffered a similar issue to her however Celestia has centuries to find a work around plus being an alicorn princess provided her certain...benefits. Oh she acted like she never noticed all those mares and stallions who'd been summoned to her chambers a night during mating season but in reality Sunset was very well aware that Celestia was no different from any other pony, she had desires, lusts that needed to be tamed and sated and Sunset felt that exact same way now.

With a sigh and mild groan she lay on her couch pondering what to do, thinking of her friends and which of them might be able to help her or at least be willing to spend time with her.

"Rainbow? Nah she's going on a family trip to Manehatten. Applejack & Rarity are out; hm, maybe Fluttershy?"

As she pondered who to contact she got a text on her phone and picking it up she saw a message from Pinkie Pie and she smiled immediately.

'Hiya Sunny!'

'What's up Pinkie?'

'The sky! Hahaha get it?!' 🤡

Sunset giggled to herself and rolled her eyes, Pinkie was such a lovable goofball, emphasis on the goofball. She always managed to get Sunset to smile no matter what and she adored that about the party planner. Sitting up on the couch now fully engaged, she'd return the message.

'Lol good one goofy, so really wassup? You wanna hang out? I don't have any plans for tomorrow.'

'Really?! I thought you'd be going to Equestria to see Princess Twi! I'd LOVE to hang out! Oh, oh, oh you know what we should do?!'

'Lemme guess, throw a party?' 😏

'Ding, ding, ding! Sunset Smartypants gets it in one! We can do a Valentines party! I got lots of leftover sweets and goodies! Plus it's been forever since we hung out just the two of us! It'll be fun!

'Well how can I say no to an offer like that? So, my place or yours?'

'Your place would be best, I still stay with the Cakes for right now but I am hoping to save up enough money with all the parties I've been doing to get a place like yours!'

Sunset greatly admired Pinkie's resolve and willingness to see the best in life no matter what, after High School, Pinkie had decided to start working and doing free lance party planning to help pay the bills at home however eventually life with her very traditional and old school parents wasn't working for Pinkie especially after they caught her being 'intimate' with another girl no less and they kicked Pinkie out. Pinkie never let it discourage her though as she quickly found a home with the Cakes who allowed her to make a living space out of the attic of their pastry shop. They even allowed Pinkie to live as she desired and Pinkie repaid them by working in the shop and being their primary babysitter for the cake twins so needless to say Pinkie was doing well for herself.

'I know you'll make it soon Pinkie and you've got me to help you if you ever need it, after all what're besties for right?' 😉

'You're the best Sunny! So should I come over tonight then? That way we can party all day tomorrow! I just got off work at the shop and the Cakes don't need me to babysit!'

'Huh really? Figured they'd need you since they usually go out for Valentines day.'

'Usually yeah but they are gonna be spending this one at home baking!'

'Oh? Anything special?'

'Heheh lets just say if Mr. Cake's cream hits just right in the oven? Mrs. Cake will have a nice bun cooking for a few months!'

Sunset was glad she wasn't drinking water or eating because that made her snort and burst out laughing. As she giggled and laughed at the dirty joke her friend just made a phone call came through and noticing it was pinkie's ringtone with her 'SMILE' song being the selected tune, Sunset answered as she tried to speak through her gigglefit.

"Y-y-y-y-you hahahahahaa a-a-a-re such a clown!" Sunset said giggling and holding her side as she held the phone up to her ear with her other hand.

"Clowns make people laugh so I take that as a compliment!" Pinkie giggled and Sunset could practically hear her smiling ear to ear over the phone. "I just wanted to hear your laugh! It always puts me in a good mood! Anywhoozle! I'll be over soon Sunny! Bye!" Pinkie hung up before sunset could respond.

As her giggling and laughter began to subside, Sunset calmed herself down and sighed happily as she felt her heart beat faster and the heat between her thighs increase at the thought of spending a night with Pinkie and then all of Valentines day with her. The idea of having that hyper active, cute pink goofball all to herself, it made her feel things she'd only ever felt for one other person...and pony. Twilight, both of whom she had to abandon her feelings for because one was an entire universe away and held a position that made falling in love difficult and the other had fallen for another.

Timber Spruce was long out of the picture, a highschool flame that died out after Twilight graduated but during college she managed to meet this worlds version of Moon Dancer and the two became very quick friends and eventually started dating, which Sunset wholeheartedly supported and at the very least she and Sci-Twi were able to have a little fun in college so at least she had closure there. Though that didn't mean she still didn't long for love and while the thought of hooking up with Adagio sounded interesting at first, the siren leader made it clear she had no interest in her, friendship or otherwise which was a shame because she did genuinely find Adagio attractive.

That just left Pinkie Pie, her first true friend and the first one to give her a chance after the whole fall formal thing. Pinkie was the first one to forgive her, the first one to call herself her friend, the first one to truly ever make her laugh and smile and so much more. She was sweet, kind, compassionate, understanding, loyal, had enough energy to fuel entire nations and if Sunset was being frank? She was fucking cute! Every little thing she did made sunset want to squee and snuggle her, not to mention the fact that all of those sweets she ate made Pinkie Pie THICK in all the right ways sunset liked.

As she processed these feelings and touched her geode that hung around her neck and felt a deep connection to Pinkie and felt her heart beat like her drums the moment she thought of her name and feeling the heat come to her cheeks and between her legs? She knew it in that moment.

"Yeah...I'm in love with my bestie...again. Dammit that's three for three. Think I actually just might be really gay. First the princess, then Sci-Twi and now Pinkie?" Sunset sighed and chuckled as she rolled her eyes and got up from her couch and fixed her hair a bit and looked around her apartment which was kind of a mess. Sheepishly rubbing the back of her head she chuckled a bit.

"Should probably clean up...and shower." Sunset could smell herself and the heat was STRONG, she wondered if that would affect Pinkie the same way it did mares and Stallions back in Equestria? A unicorns scent when they were in heat contained strong pheromones and her human body functioned slightly different to a normal human woman. The reasons for which Sunset was still unsure but she ignored it as always. Moving to clean up her apartment it didn't take her long to put her dirty clothes in the wash, do the dishes, clean out Ray's cage and take out her trash. Once that was finished she moved to take a shower opting not to use the special body wash that the Princess gave her that would cover up her pheromones; she planned to put the moves on Pinkie and so she'd need all the help she could get considering the lovable goofball was also very oblivious.

"But dammit do I love seeing her smile." Sunset thought with a grin as she went to take a shower, Pinkie on her mind the entire time.
