Mornings at The Academy
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpitfire:
Morning was not like normal, Mirage had stayed in bed late. After last nights outburst, I could tell she had been afraid of him, very, very afraid of him. The things that he had done to her, were unspeakable. Celestia had a hard time believing before she actually saw her.
Celestia.
She had said she would take care of things. She hadn't. Or Mirage would be at peace, she wouldn't have to worry about it happening all over again... It wouldn't.
I would protect her. I would keep her safe until he was gone, or dead, or anything in between.
No matter what the cost.
I ran my hoof through her ash colored coat, smiling at its softness and warmth. She wiggled around and faced me, still sleeping and breathing ever so softly. I could have stayed there forever. Just in that moment when she smiled in her sleep. She must have been dreaming, not being tortured by nightmares.
The smile faded.
A frown followed.
Tears began to seep through her eyelids, and she began to thrash her hooves around. Kicking and letting light screams pass through her lips. When I barely tapped her coat she flung her hoof up out of the bed and smashed it into my muzzle, sending me flying back onto the floor beside the bed.
As an impulse, I quickly covered it up with my hoof, feeling warm liquid, I pulled it away, seeing deep red blood on it.
But Mirage had woken up, and peered over the side of the bed with sleepy, tear filled eyes.
"I'm sorry," she sniffed "I didn't mean to hit you"
"It's fine, babe," I said, wiping my nose and streaking blood across my coat. "I wanted to wake you up."
She sat up and wiped her eyes, "Thanks..." she whispered.
"Why did he come to mind so suddenly?" I asked, walking into the bathroom and leaning my head over the sink to let the blood run from my muzzle.
She hesitated, but spoke. "I don't know, he just, appeared." she said, "like, out of nowhere"
I didn't buy it, I heard the tremor in her voice with the sink on as it was washing the blood down into the pipes.
"Who brought it up?" I asked.
"W-what?" She asked with a nervous smile.
I walked back into the room with a frown and doubtful eyes, staring at her.
"Who brought it up?" I repeated.
"N-Nobody!"
"Mirage."
"I swear!"
"Mirage." I said again, getting closer to the bed. "Who."
It wasn't a question, it was a demand.
She sighed, pulling the covers over her head.
"Soarin." she said.
I felt set of teeth extend in my mouth, I wasn't intending to be violent to anypony, especially Soarin, but if one needed a few teeth knocked out to get the message, that's what it would have to take.
"I'll be back." I said, turning away and heading for the door.
"Wait!" Mirage said.
I turned around and saw my marefriend with her arms opened and her back knees on the mattress of the bed.
"Aren't you going to give me a hug?"
I rolled my eyes at how pitiful she looked and walked over to her.
I wrapped my arms around the mare and squeezed for a second, then let go.
But she didn't.
"Don't give me a half-assed hug." she said.
When I held her again she pulled me onto the bed and pinned me down, laying down on top of me and kissing me quickly a few times before really going into it, using her tongue like a dentist uses a toothbrush. Rubbing her body against mine and quickly turning me on. I wanted to take over, but she stayed in that position for a few minutes before climbing off and covering up with the sheets.
"Where are you going?" I asked, pulling her towards me and kissing her.
"No more until you go talk to Soarin." She said.
Easy enough, I'd go kick his-
"But, you can't be too mean to him." She said. "Or you don't get any."
"But-"
"No buts"
I harrumphed and slid off the bed, putting on my aviators and whistle.
I quickly trotted over to the bed, kissed the sleepy mare and patted her flank, before flying out of the room to find Soarin.
I saw a group of newbies and cleared my throat.
"HEY!" I shouted.
"YES MA'AM?" They asked as they quickly lined up.
"ANYONE OF YOU SEEN SOARIN?"
After talking among themselves for a few seconds, they responded.
"NO MA'AM"
"Well, tell me if you do." I said.
"YES MA'AM"
