It was a lovely day on the island of sodor and today is Valentine's day. Twilight the new engine was on her way to the docks to deliver some stone from the quarry.

"I'm so excited to see the seaside of the docks" said twilight excitedly.

"Me too" said spike the brakevan.

As the arrived at the docks, diesel is up to his old tricks and shunted her and cause cranky the crane to drop the crate of roses.

"Twilight! What are you doing?" Cranky asked.

Thomas was nearby and saw everything.

"It wasn't twilight's fault, diesel shunted her" said Thomas defending twilight.

"Oh, is that right? You only stick up for her because she's your favorite?" Diesel teased.

"Thomas is sticking up for me because he's my friend" said twilight.

Just then Bill and Ben the tank engine twins came up and heard everything.

"Ooh, Thomas is your special friend?" Bill teased.

"Thomas and twilight sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g" Ben added.

"Yuck, you're a silly lot of engines" said Thomas crossly and puffed away.

Meanwhile at the washdown, Thomas, Percy and Toby was getting a wash when twilight came up.

"Hey Thomas" twilight whistled "I just wanted to say thanks for sticking up for me down at the docks".

"D...did I stick up for you?" Thomas asked nervously "I don't think so, that's not what happened"

"What? But I..." Twilight shudered.

"Look at twilight everyone, she thinks something happened, but it's didn't, silly twilight" said Thomas nervously and puffed away.

On the way back to Thomas' branchline, twilight can't get the feeling why Thomas is acting strangely.

"I just don't get it spike, I never seen Thomas acted so rude and strangely ever since at the docks" said twilight.

"I don't know twilight, maybe you and Thomas can talk this out" said spike.

As they came to a station, sir topham hatt came up with his car.

"Twilight, I want you to take these cars to victerstown where you meet up with Thomas." Said sir topham hatt.

"Ok sir, I...I won't let you down sir" said twilight nervously.

Soon twilight was getting cupped up to the cars.

"Come on, come on!" Said twilight impatient.

As twilight was cupped up to the cars, Percy came up and saw twilight in a hurry.

What's the hurry twilight?" Percy asked.

"I don't want to bump into Thomas, he was so rude to me this morning" said twilight and explained to Percy about this morning at the docks.

"Thomas was rude to you? That is odd, I thought he really like you" said Percy.

"You're not helping Percy!" Said twilight crossly.

Soon she was cupped up to the cars, twilight was on her way.

As twilight was stopped at a red signal, Edward came up.

"Hello twilight" said Edward but he saw twilight was upset. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, it's the other engines. They think me and Thomas are special friends." Twilight said and explained to Edward what happened at the docks this morning.

"Oh, I see. You must not worry about the other engines think" said Edward.

"I know, but I don't want Thomas to get the wrong idea" said twilight.

"I understand twilight, but if there's a misunderstanding, you two should talk it out" said Edward kindly.

"You're right, thanks Edward" said twilight.

Soon the signal has changed and twilight was on her way.

At last, twilight made it to victerstown and Thomas was there too.

"Hi... Uh twilight" said Thomas nervously.

"Hi Thomas" said twilight.

"I'm sorry I was rude to you twilight, I do like you, a lot. But no more than any other engines" said Thomas apologized.

"I feel the same" said twilight.

"I'm glad we got that sorted" said Thomas.

Then they heard violins playing and they saw sir topham hatt with lady hatt.

"Roses are red, Thomas was blue and my darling lady hatt and I love you" said sir topham hatt and showed her a cat as a gift.

"Thank you sir topham" said lady hatt "and I love you too."

Then out of twilight's cars was red and blue roses and in Thomas' coaches was full of red and blue lanterns.

"So this is sir topham hatt's plan" said twilight.

"And I nearly spoiled it" said Thomas.

"So do I" twilight agreed.

Soon Thomas and twilight made it back to farquar sheds to sleep for the night.

"We make a good team together Thomas" said twilight.

"Indeed" Thomas agreed.

Then an idea flew into Thomas' funnel.

"Hey twilight, do you want to come with me?" Thomas asked.

"To where?" Twilight asked.

"To a special place that I know for a long time" said Thomas.

Soon Thomas puffed away with twilight followed him. As they came to a old siding, Thomas spoke up.

"Are you ready twilight?" He asked.

"I think so" said twilight.

Thomas and twilight puffed their positions and went through the buffers. Out of the buffers was a beautiful world twilight had never seen before.

"Where are we?" Twilight asked.

"This is the magic railroad, where my friend lady lives" said Thomas.

"You did this for me?" Twilight asked.

"Yes, for Valentine's day and as a thank you for helping me out on my branchline." Said Thomas. "Twilight, would you, like to be my special friend?"

"I would, let's keep this to ourselves, so no one can't leave us alone"

"I love you twilight" said Thomas.

"I love you too Thomas" said twilight.

Just then, Thomas' old friend lady came up.

"Hello Thomas, how are you doing, it's been a long time" said lady.

"It was good" said Thomas, "I want you to meet twilight, an friend of mine who works on my branchline. Twilight meet lady the magical engine".

"Hi twilight, it's nice to meet you" said lady.

"Me too, so your magical?" Twilight asked.

"Yes, I have the magic of gold dust" lady replied.

"Well, it's getting late, we better get home" said Thomas.

"Okay Thomas" said lady "oh, before you two go, I want to give twilight something".

Then, lady blow her whistle and on twilight's side was a purple star with five small stars around the purple star.

"Wow, thank you lady" said twilight.

"Anything for a friend" said lady.

Soon, Thomas and twilight head back to farquar sheds for the night.

"Happy Valentine's day twilight" said Thomas.

"Happy Valentine's day to you too Thomas" said twilight.
