Road to recovery

''Who's interrupting our meal now?'' Luna stood up from the Crown's private dining table, annoyed, when there was a knock at the door. ''Be kind, Luna, the servants and guards would rather be at home with their families right now,'' Celestia took a quick sip from her teacup and glanced briefly at her sister, who grumbled as she walked to the large oak door of the dining hall.

She stopped in front of the door and took a deep breath before opening it. ''What's going on?'' Luna asked the batpony mare, who was standing guard outside the door, somewhat annoyed. ''One of the servants found a letter in the throne room, it's from Miss Sparkle but doesn't say who it's addressed to,'' the mare handed the letter with Twilight's seal to the alicorn mare. ''Thank you,'' Luna accepted the letter with her magic, ''and a nice Hearths Warming,'' she smiled at the mare. ''Thank you ma'am, you too,'' the Bat mare saluted Luna as she closed the door.

''And what is it?'' Celestia asked relaxed as she swallowed a bite of her food. ''A letter from Twilight,'' Luna picked it up briefly, opened it and began to read it.

As Celestia watched her little sister read through her pupil's letter, she could see the dark blue mare's eyes widen and her muscles tense. Before she could ask what was in the letter, Luna dropped it and ran towards a window, without thinking about it she jumped through the closed window and started flying through the snowstorm towards Ponyville.

Slowly the mare opened her eyes, whereupon she was immediately blinded by bright light ''ouch'' she closed her eyes again as the bright light gave her a headache. She tried to open her eyes again when she noticed movement next to her and heard a voice?

Her eyes were still blinded by the bright light so she closed them again but the voice next to her became clearer, 'Twi....ht?..... T....ight?'' the voice was dull at first and sounded far away, but it became clearer and sounded closer, but she still couldn't hear everything that was being said or was the voice calling?

That sounds like.... Luna? she recognized the voice of the alicorn mare but why would she m... Twilight's thoughts were interrupted when Luna started shouting again, ''Si...ster! Si...ster! She i...ah!...S...is awake!''. Before the violet mare could even question what the princess of the night could mean by that, Twilight fell back into a dark and dreamless sleep.
