//-------------------------------------------------------// doctor whooves- metal monstrosities -by burnout-102- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// episode 1- the arrival //-------------------------------------------------------// episode 1- the arrival EPISODE 1- THE ARRIVAL The doctor was traveling across space and time the TARDIS spun and shook as it flew through a wormhole and the doctor was kicked back and enjoying a cup of tea as he traveled until the TARDIS shook a bit more violently more and more. The doctor put his cup down and headed to the controller and tried to control it. He looked at the console and saw the TARDIS was going in the wrong direction instead of going through the wormhole it was trying to rip through the side of it going some other place. “Okay come on you got this doctor.. Come on..” he muttered The doctor frantically flipped switches, pulled levers, and pushed buttons but nothing he did stopped the TARDIS. It was shaking more and more violently until the doctor could barely stand on his two feet, it was pushing through the side of the hole like a drill. Then it shot through the hole making a rift throwing the TARDIS into a void at an insane speed and the doctor was knocked into the wall and tried to to make it to the control center but then his tea cup flew to his face and knocked him out cold. The doctor blinked he was alive but it had seemed to have been a bit since the ship crashed into this other place that the doctor had no knowledge of, he went to try and wipe off the shards of broken tea cup from his coat but as he looked he saw he wasn’t wearing a coat, or even pants for that matter. “Oh that's strange…” Then he looked down at his hooves. Hooves. “Oh that's neat…” he said chuckling a bit as he said it He got up and wobbled around a bit and then fell on his face. He was now not standing on two feet, now he was standing on four hooves. He stumbled around a bit getting used to his new body; he seemed to have regenerated into some sort of cow? Dog? No a pony. He saw himself in the reflection of a metal wall. He was an equine with spiky and messy mane and a brown coat along with a blue tie which he thought was at least a bit nice considering he had no clothes. The strange thing to him was that he looked more cartoonish like an illustration in a children's book with bigger eyes and smoother edges along with other inaccuracies. Then he heard the door to the TARDIS open someone had decided to come inside uninvited The doctor with nothing to defend himself snuck around and hid beside the entrance to the control room. He peeked his head around the corner and saw the figure of another pony looking around. It was also very inaccurate to a real pony having a purple coat and a mane with pink a purple stripes and even a strange marking of stars on the ponies flank like this was some sort of pony dressed up for a beauty pageant. She also had a horn. A horn. This was not just a pony, this was a unicorn but not a mythological unicorn more of a marketed unicorn you would see in a toy store. The doctor was hesitant but soon he turned the corner and approached slowly and right before the doctor would tap her on the back to get her attention she turned around and jumped emitting a scream not one of a normal pony again more of one from a normal human woman. “Who the hay are you!?” she said sounding scared “Well I’m the doctor, nice to meet you!” “Um.. the doctor? That's your name? As in treating ponies when they’re sick or more scientifically?” “Well science more so but I’m the doctor and it seems I’ve crash landed into a world of colorful equines! How exciting!” “What?” she said confused “Oh pardon me, where are my manners! What is your name?” “Umm.. my names twilight.. Twilight sparkle I was resting in a flower bed reading until your ship here or whatever crashed into the ground! I came in to see if whatever was in here was still alive..” “Hmm.. well it does seem I have crashed landed lets get some air shall we!” the doctor said “Umm okay?” The two trotted out the doctor was getting a better at walking with the new hooves and he saw the beautiful night sky through the TARDISs door and he trotted out seeing the world around him it was a nice little area a total palette cleanser from all of the dystopian steampunk cityscapes that clouded his nose with smoke. “Um sir?” twilight said “Yes, twilight?” “Did that crash make you dizzy? You seem to be wiggling around when you walk around..” she said pointing at the doctors hooves “Oh yes! Do you want the short or long form of it?” Twilight looked confused and said “short version..” “I seem to have lost my fingers after crashing onto your planet!” “What?” twilight said with even more confusion “alright give me the long version..’ “Well I used to be a homosapien, until I had crashed the TARDIS there into your reality because for some strange reason while I was traveling through space and time and since I was not able to form as an homosapien in your reality I was regenerated into an equine like creature among the likes of you!” “So what you're saying is essentially you used to be a ‘homosapien’ and after you crashed your multiversal ship here into equestria you turned into a pony?” twilight said confused “exactly my equine friend!” “...even though I have seen and heard many strange things in my life, that has to be the most confusing thing I’ve heard so pardon me when I say this ‘doctor’ but that seems very unlikely..” “Ha! I think I should get a tally board for how many times I’ve heard someone say that!” “Don't you mean somepony?” twilight said even more confused by his grammar “Oh yes everypo-” the doctor fell silent for a few seconds and snickered and then busted laughing “HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! EVERY- HAHA! EVERYPONY HAHAHA!” Twilight stared at the doctor like he had gone mad and said “sir I think you need some help you might have really damaged your head while flying that thing over there..” twilight aid concerned “Oh oh sorry twilight it's… It's just so funny! I always love a good play on words! Anyways I do need a place to stay while I fix up the navigational functions on the TARDIS so is there some sort of small house you live in around here or do you ponies just sleep in the wild?” Twilight looked like she was about to die from confusion “no we have actual towns out here a few miles away from here there's a town called ponyville…” The doctor kept in his laughter and said “okay so you ponies have advanced society here that's good to know! Anyways let's get to it, you take the lead sparkle!” “Alright then come with me doctor” she started toward a path after grabbing the book she was reading while relaxing on the cliff side patch of fowlers with her magic. The two trotted along the path, the doctor looking giddy and taking note of everything around him like the way nature looked more like an illustration than real grass flowers and trees, same going for the moon and small clouds in the sky left from daytime. He kept asking questions like “what were you reading a spell book or just some light reading?” or “ is your world ruled by democracy, monarchy, dictatorship?” of course since twilight knew a lot about equestria she of course answered every question but the amount he asked and how it was simple things even foals could know it was getting on her nerves and in all honesty she was hoping for when she could just leave this whack job and go back home. The two ponies arrive at the side of ponyville, a small town with houses adorning the streets and nature blossoming with it and the doctor immediately smiles with happiness and he runs around just loving the cute simple design of the town. “Oh my goodness! It's so adorable! The little houses and they’re hay roofs oh! The big house made of candy over there oh I feel like I’m in a children's picture book!” “Sir can you not!” twilight said in a whisper “other ponies could be watching you and I don't want to be seen as crazy like you!” “Ahem… sorry twilight but this whole place just makes me so giddy it's like I’m in a little girl's dream. It's just so adorable!” “Now since you may be from a foreign place you must not have any money so there is a shelter over by-” twilight was cut off “Don't worry twilight the TARDIS is my home but I can’t be leaving just yet Mrs. sparkle!” Twilight had a confused look on her face and said “one I didn’t say to go anywhere ad two why can't you? Is there a special business like your an ambassador?” “Oh no no Mrs. sparkle I’m the doctor so anywhere I go there's a problem that needs fixing or people or in your words ponies that need saving!” “So you're a vigilante?” “No, I'm the doctor and I help people! And since you’ve helped me I see something in you…” Twilight was seeing that today was the most confusing day in her life “what do you mean you see something in me?” “Well Mrs. sparkle every time I come onto one of these escapades I team with an assistant, someone I trust and can help me with my mission and you seem to be showing signs of a good companion!” Twilight had enough of this doctor's mad ramblings “alright let me repeat what you have said so far. You are a space traveling pony that only comes to planets when they need help or saving and you used to be a whole other race before traveling here and becoming a pony and now since I helped you you believe I should join you on an insane quest across the planet trying to defeat a force that you don't even know about?” “That's about it!” the doctor said Twilight processed the information and simply said “...you're insane, I wish you get some real help and I’m going to read a book in my library..” “Oh well! I guess I’ll have to find somepony else to join me!” As twilight walked away she thought more about the doctor's offer. She could join him but what if he was actually some insane pony with no real importance, but the more she trotted away from him the more she felt a sort of magnetic pull calling her name to the doctor like a purpose, no it felt like destiny. She was now at her library she sat in her bed watching the moon in the sky she wondered about what that pony could have been and the strangest thing being that ship that crashed into the cliff side when she went inside the blue box became a whole building she had never heard of something like that in her life and it couldn’t have been magic because that doctor was an earth pony. She then got out of bed and headed for the library and she started reading. She looked under books labeled “doctor” or “time box” or anything like that until she found a dusty book that seemed to be hidden in the T section behind all the other books and it was labeled “a tome of timelords” she opened the book coughing from the dust that engulfed the book. The book told of ancient creatures that resembled ponies and would visit the planet calling themselves as “timelords” and they would only come rarely speaking of other worlds and tagging along with other ponies that would help them fix problems. Then on one page was a chapter labeled The doctor. Under the chapter title was an illustration of a two legged creature standing in an angel-like pose. The boom read that only at some point would the timelords speak of the master of time one called the doctor a benevolent alien like creature that would act friendly and goofy but would see villainous ponies as inherently evil and would go to all lengths to hunt them down and end they’re evil all the while mocking and insulting them. The book never told of a time where he was truly seen so they only showed images of sketches that were drawn from description and every single one looked different. Twilight knew that this was something to investigate. The whole description of the doctor in the book described the doctor she had met beforehand a pony she called mad. She still was skeptical but if this was true she had met a rare creature from another world and brushed it off like it was nothing, she had to return and learn more about that doctor. But how? She couldn’t follow him around because that would be stalking and that's illegal. until she remembered the doctor's offer to be an “assistant” she knew if she really wanted to know more she had to team up with the doctor. She woke up the next morning and got her things together in a saddle bag and headed off to the cliff side. As she trotted to the spot she hoped the doctor's ship was still there and that she could get information from him. She then saw the blue box with the words “police public call box” on the front and she headed up to the door and knocked on it hoping the doctor was in and the door opened slowly for her to see the doctor standing in the doorway. “Ah hello again Mrs. sparkle! Is your morning doing well?” the doctor said with a grin on his face “Hello umm.. Doctor I’ve come because I decided to.. Take up the role as your assistant!” “Oh well that's nice, I guess you don't see me as crazy anymore huh? Anyways come in I’ve made you and me some tea and crumpets before you came” the doctor headed inside and twilight followed “How did you know I’d come back here?” twilight said “I’m the doctor I always know!” Twilight walked into the control room and saw the enormous control panel and all of the levers and buttons that all controlled this ship and all she could say was “wow..” “Wow indeed my equine friend!” the doctor trotted over the the control panel and crawled under it the open a hatch “What are you doing doctor?” “I’m trying to fix the TARDIS so we can get it up and running again. That crash totaled the quantum travel unit. Say can you pass me a spanner from the tool box over there?” Twilight looked over to see a red tool box sitting on the ground, she took the wrench and gave it to the doctor and he got to work as twilight sat drinking the tea and eating the crumpets the doctor made for her. It tasted good! She had never had a crumpet before but the tea was exquisite. The doctor used the spanner and worked on the wiring. Soon he was almost finished and with the connection of two wires the panel lit up and it was ready to take off. “So what does the ship do exactly, doctor?” “Well it can travel across space and time and I’m thinking of time today” “Sure, an earth pony can make a device capable of time travel!” “Watch and learn Mrs. sparkle trust me I’m a doctor!” The doctor flips a switch and the TARDIS begins to spin and shake as it lifts and after a few seconds it shoots off into time! “Ready for an adventure, Mrs. sparkle?!” “I hope so!” //-------------------------------------------------------// episode 2- the forgotten battlefield //-------------------------------------------------------// episode 2- the forgotten battlefield EPISODE 2- THE FORGOTTEN BATTLEFIELD The TARDIS flew through time, twilight was baffled by the time travel and she really wanted to ask the doctor how any of this worked but she knew she had to keep quiet so she simply asked one question that was the most confusing to her and needed to be answered. “Doctor, why is this ship bigger on the inside when on the outside it's way smaller?” The doctor looked away from the control panel and said “it's simple, this whole place is not really inside the blue box! It's a whole other pocket dimension contained inside the blue box! And even if you go a thousand miles in one direction it will never end. It's an endless maze of corridors and rooms that only I know how to traverse!” “But then how did you do that without magic? You have no horn!” “It's not magic, it's advanced science!” “Well I’m a bit of a scientist myself and in my years of study I’ve never seen anything like this..” “Because it hasn’t happened yet in your reality Mr’s sparkle!” “Why do you keep talking about universes and realities? What does that even mean?” “Well..” the doctor looked around and saw a piece of paper and a pencil “think of it this way!” He drew two circles with scribbles wrapping around them “we’ll call this circle here my universe and this one here yours and all of the lines around them are timelines! I was traveling though one of the interstellar lines that transport you to other points in time but then I accidentally broke through one of them sending me flying across the multiverse! And it just so happened to send me into your world here!” Twilight thought about the explanation and said “Well that sort of makes sense so you're basically saying you broke through a wall that separated your universe from all the others and you then broke through our wall sending you to our universe?” “In layman's terms yes!” the doctor then looked at the control panel and said “ah yes it seems were about the land!” The TARDIS then landed with a thud and the two stepped out to see the same cliffside that the TARDIS was on before but now beyond the cliff was a barren wasteland of ash and destroyed infrastructure. “What in the name of celestia happened here?” twilight said bewildered. “Who's celestia?” the doctor said. “We don't need to talk about that now but I’ve never heard of anything happening here!” “Alright Mr’s sparkle, I think we should try and investigate the area and see what happened here…” “I agree doctor, but let's go slowly, we don't want to alarm whoever is down there…” “I like how you think Mr’s sparkle..” The two ponies slid down the cliff side narrowly missing the spiky rocks that stuck out of the side of the cliff and they slowly made they’re way across the area. “It looks like a big war happened down here, but I haven’t read in any of my books of any big battle happening around ponyville…” “Maybe because it hasn’t happened yet..” the doctor said. Twilight tilted her head and said “what does that mean? Were in the past so shouldn’t the past affect the future?” “Well not exactly.. when you make a choice it simply makes a new line of decisions, So we've just arrived in another timeline where a battle had happened here that diverged from the original timeline. Time travel is strange. Time is a bunch of wibbly wobbly timey wimey mush..” “Oh well I guess that makes sense doctor..” They kept walking but then twilight stubbed her toe on some sort of metal object that was in the ground. The doctor took notice of the object and he then brushed off the dust and saw the face of a robotic type pony with their eyes dark with no color but on the head was a horn. The doctor seemed to think for a second twilight looking concerned. “Doctor? Is everything alright?” “Well Mr.'s sparkle it's rather you ponies have very similar technological design to the planet of Mondas or this planet has been invaded by the cybermen, or in your words more like cyberponies…” “What's a cyberpony doctor?” “Well Mr.'s sparkle cyberponies in your words are creatures that decided to turn their entire race into robots that strive to turn all creatures into they’re kind they obviously look different in my universe but I guess with my entrance of your dimension came other alien species that reformed themselves to your universes logic and now they’re cyberponies..” “So are you saying these “cyberponies” might have went back in time and tried to take this planet and this is the remains of the battle?” “Yes Mr.'s sparkle.. But it doesn’t seem like they got too far before being stopped by.. Something else..” “What do you mean something else?” “Well if you look at the body there are no open wounds, just dents and that means they were not killed with normal weapons but with directed energy weapons…” “So something alien took these ponies out?” “It seems like it.. Twilight I need you to use your magic to carry this bot back to the TARDIS so I can try to get him running again…” Twilight did a double take and said “are you insane?! You just said these things will go to any length to turn ponies to cyberponies couldn’t they just call a troop of cyberponies to come and kidnap us turning us into robots!” “Well if we have any chance at finding the culprit for who shot these lasers we'll need an eye witness which looks like they're laying on the ground out here! I’ll make sure to remove all of his violent features and I’ll just interrogate him and find out what happened to these cyberponies..” “Well alright doctor as long as you're sure that this is a good idea” “Trust me, I’m a doctor!” Twilight nodded and lifted the cyberpony with her magic, a purple aura engulfing the metal beast and it levitating into the air. “This thing is really heavy, doctor!” “Strange.. So you can feel the weight of objects when levitating them. Maybe later you can tell me more about your magical abilities..” “Sure I can do that but I feel like we should focus on hauling this big hunk of metal to the TARDIS..” twilight said in a bit of a strained voice. “Yes I believe so as well come along Mr’s sp-” then the doctor stopped in his tracks looking around fearfully “did you hear that Mr’s sparkle?..” “No I didn’t, what's wrong?..” twilight said in a whisper. “Stay close to me Mr’s sparkle I think something is circling us…” The two started to hear the clanking of metal get louder and louder as four figures got closer and standing there in front of them was four cyberponies with their hoofs raised ready for combat. The cyberpony in the middle to the two ponies in front of him “inefficient organic lifeforms detected state your identities to head of horseshoe company” “Horseshoe company huh you think you’d be a bit more imaginative when naming your companies! Don't you remember a mortal enemy when you see them?” The head of the company stayed silent for a few seconds until saying “the doctor… we meet again after all this time!” “It's not too nice to see you as well after all this time but it seems you're the last cybermen left on the battlefield!” “Yes but we can still capture you and your associate or if we want, we could kill you.” “Yes but you won't because I’m the doctor and I don't lose against idiotic buckets of bots like you!” “What are we going to do, doctor?..” twilight said nervously. “Well how about you get a taste of supersonic frequencies you metallic moro-” the doctor stood there after going for an item that was not there. No pockets. “Oh.. bollocks..” “Doctor what do we do!..” twilight said in a whisper as the cyberponies got closer and closer. “Mr’s sparkle.. The moment I say so.. Book it to the TARDIS..” the doctor said in a whisper. The cyberponies were almost about to grab the two ponies and hope seemed to be lost. 3 2 1 “RUN!” The two ponies shimmied from side to side and ran away from the cyberponies as they shot they’re lasers at the two. But right before they were able to get inside, Twilight was finally unable to carry the robot and dropped it in the dirt while she laid there trying to get her breath. The doctor ran to her side trying to get her up before the cyberponies caught her but the ponies were getting closer and closer and soon they would be sent to the home ship and turned into a cyberpony. So in reluctance the doctor said in desperation “listen I’ll be back for you and you will be safe just trust me..” The doctor then booked it to the TARDIS and shot him off into space. Twilight watched in horror as the doctor flew away from the scene and the cyberponies then found twilight and grabbed her, pulling her to the ship with a somber look on her face. The doctor was in the TARDIS thinking. There wasn’t much time before twilight was turned into a metallic shell of her former self; he had to act faster than he had before until he noticed, while looking over the battlefield the cyberpony ship was still on the ground. He just had to sneak onto the ship and disable the ship from the inside but he couldn’t do it without his sonic screwdriver. He looked around frantically for it until he saw it laying on the ground and he was ecstatic. He took the controls and set it to send him behind the ship and after a bit of time he was there undetected. He exited the TARDIS and headed for the front before seeing a group of cyberponies holding twilight her crying for help while they dragged her inside and after a bit the front door was shut. The doctor quickly looked around until he saw a vent on the side of the ship. He used the screwdriver to break off the panel and climb inside of the vent. He crawled for a long while until he accidentally crashed through the vent on the inside. He then snuck around the ship hiding from cyberponies and making sure he knew where he was going. Soon he was near the room where twilight was being held. He pulled out his sonic screwdriver and started to unlock the door but then he heard something coming down the hallway and it sounded like cyberponies. The doctor kept the screwdriver on the lock and kept unlocking while the cyberponies got closer and closer. If he didn’t get this now he was a goner. He then heard a click, the door had opened! The doctor then quickly ran inside and hid in a shadowy area in the room. Inside was a table that twilight was strapped to; it was equipped with robotic hands and clamps and soldering tools used for robotic creation. Twilight laid on the table trying to find a way to get out but she couldn’t escape. She couldn’t use her magic because they had attached a sort of clamp onto her horn that blocked magical abilities. Soon four cyberponies trotted into the room and encircled twilight on the table, her calling for help as the machine started she thrashed and screamed. “DOCTOR! DOCTOR HELP ME!” Twilight felt her hope drain and she accepted her fate until the doctor jumped out from the shadows and used the screwdriver to disable the one using the device and he quickly turned the device off saving twilight. The cyberponies surrounded the doctor but one by one the ponies fell deactivated. The doctor started to free twilight and said “it's nice to see you again Mr’s sparkle!” “Oh doctor, that's an understatement! I thought I was going to be a large hunk of metal for a second there!” twilight said with an relieved voice. The doctor undone the last strap and disabled the clamp around her horn making her able to use magic again. The two started to run for the front exit dodging the cyberponies around them. The doctor and twilight made it to the door and the doctor started to use the sonic screwdriver to unlock the front. The cyberponies caught up to the two. They started blasting they’re lasers at the two. Twilight put a magical shield up protecting the two from fire. “Surrender yourselves and we shall be merciful!” said one of the cyberponies. “Doctor!.. You may want to hurry up with that!.. This constant fire is making my magic weak!” twilight said with a straining voice. The doctor concentrated on getting the lock undone but the lock was very advanced which was making it infinitely harder to unlock the cyberponies upgraded and now they were prepared. “Doctor please!.. I can't hold it much longer!..” The doctor kept working the situation was life, death, or a metallic afterlife. He kept working and working until.. Click. The door slammed open and the two immediately booked it out of the ship making a b line to the TARDIS, the cyberponies tailing them from behind. The adrenaline rushed through they’re bodies as they ran to the TARDIS, the cyberponies getting closer and closer, the sound of their iron hooves clanking, hitting the ashen rocky ground beneath them filling the air with unease. The two finally got to the TARDIS. The two opened the door and the doctor quickly set the TARDIS to shoot into space. The TARDIS shot off before the cyberponies could catch them and they were sent off into space. The two laid up against the control panel to get some air after the action they were thrown into space. “That was a close one eh Mr’s spar-.. Oh hey!” the doctor saw the disabled cyberpony sat on the ground twilights face looking proud. “I didn’t forget, doctor..” “Well that's just nice! Good work Mr’s sparkle we’ll be able to find out exactly what is trying to attack your world! Once I get the combat features removed and get the thing up and running again..” “Well doctor how about now we rest. It's been a long day. I almost got turned into a robot and you had to save me! let's just get a breather…” twilight said with a tired voice. Agreed Mr’s sparkle.. Agreed…” The two sat down and rested now simply floating through space ending this chapter of they’re adventure. But with one chapter ends another begins. A few hours later twilight was helping the doctor with the cyberpony but out of nowhere the tardis shook. It had gotten hit by a meteor and he was sent into the abyss of space but not for long because now they were going on a crash trip onto another planet.
