Classrooms always smell the same. It's a combination of chalk, wood chippings, cheap shampoo, dirt, sweat and nervous discharges. It is a place where foals are brought when they are too old to stay at home with, and too young to work. And somepony has to watch them, and maybe even get them to learn something in the process. It takes a certain type of pony to do that job; patient, understanding, able to work long hours and weekends, and most importantly, able to appear cheery when you felt hollow and cold inside.
Under her waxen grin, Cheerilee hated this day. It was just like the day before, and every day before that as long as she could remember. The summer was over, and the long winter was ahead of her. The classroom was filled with likewise depressed fillies and colts, fresh from their summer vacation.
Summer vacation? That's the greatest joke about this work. Everypony always thinks teachers have it so good because they get a long summer vacation. Except the same ponies always forget that I have all the paperwork of new students starting school and old the ones leaving. And then there is planning the next semester, ordering books, negotiating with the Mayor about repairs and maintenance for the schoolbuilding... The fact is, I barely have time to enjoy yourself, even during the hot summer days when the sky is without a cloud and all the normal ponies are having fun at the beach.
It's been so long since I even saw a beach, let alone had the time to lie in the sand... feel the salty breeze of the ocean... have a gorgeous muscular stallion curry my glistening wet coat while I sip my mojito... maybe later I'd go dancing with that same stallion, we'd swirl around the nightclub, muzzle to muzzle, moving closer and closer, his hot breath whispering in my ears words of passion and promises of the night to come... as we walk to his hotel room I'm barely able to keep my hooves to myself on the way... then we open up a bottle of sparkly cider on the bed as his strong hoof slowly starts rubbing my belly and his lips are moving closer to—
"Miss Cheerilee!"
"WHAT!" shouted the purple mare angrily, interrupted from her musings by... a small green-haired filly, giving her a look of terror that is mirrored by the rest of the class, "...do you need, my little pony?"
SMILE! SMILE! SMILE!
"Umm... C-c-could I ha-have a new p-pencil? This one's so short I can't write with it!" the filly managed to stammer out while she tried to hide behind her desk from the teacher's certain wrath from her misdemeanor.
"Of course you could. But how did you manage to get it so short? We've barely begun the semester."
"Sorry Miss Cheerilee, but I kinda wanted it to be sharp all the time so my writing wouldn't look so messy. Cos you said a sharp pencil helps when writing and I wanted to write the best essay I can and I kept sharpening it and—" Tears had started forming in her eyes, in case she needed to plead her case in a more dramatic display of innocence.
The teacher returned from the stationary cupboard and dropped the pen on the filly's table.
"Here you go. Now this pencil has to last you longer. We have only a limited supply of them after all. Now please return to writing your essay. I want to hear ALL about how wonderful your summer was and ALL the FUN things you did with your friends." Cheerilee managed to sound almost sincere, enough to fool the foals at least. She even added a swing of her forehoof to accentuate her enthusiasm.
"Yes Miss!" The foal returned to her important task of finishing at least one hundred words before the bell tolled the end of the lesson. Cheerilee walked back to her desk, that was standing in front of the blackboard with the blocky letters declaring that today's topic was, indeed, "WHAT I DID THIS SUMMER". She sat down with a barely audible sigh escaping her lips. The only sounds in the room were the careful scratches of pencils on paper.This was a rare treat, the two dozen kids with their heads bent down to their tasks, working quietly.
Like they're all bowing down to me. If only I could get some nice stallion to bow down like that, to kiss my hooves, to grovel in front of me and promise to fulfill all my desires. ARGH! She gave a quick shake of her head to clear her thoughts. Stop acting like a schoolfilly in her first heat. It's not like it has been THAT long since you were with a stallion... only something like... Her mental calculations ended with her lower jaw landing on the table with a small thud.
I need to get laid.
The foals were playing in the yard, having just finished their lunches. The cerise teacher leaned on the windowsill of the Teacher's Lounge with a cup of coffee next to her. The Lounge was one of the jokes in the school, except only one pony had heard it, and even she didn't find it amusing. The cramped room had a full-body mirror, an old radio, a worn couch next to a small table , a small shower stall that was functioning as a storage for text books and two collapsible chairs for when she needed to have a parent-teacher conference somewhere other than the classroom. Or entertain an official of some sort, be it the Mayor coming to check where all the bits were going, or someone from the Board of Education, telling her how worried he was about the grades from school and what Cheerilee intended to do about it. None of those things mattered, because the room also held the saviour of teachers all across Equestria, a coffee machine.
The teacher took a short sip of the still steaming hot coffee and cringed as she felt its sour taste assaulting her tastebuds. She always took her coffee black, not bothering to get fresh milk for it every week or so. Even sugar felt like an unneeded extra, like admitting a weakness. It made the taste more bearable, and Cheerilee would have nothing of the sort. The burning awful taste that made her tongue hurt and go numb was one of the only real things in the sugarcoated school environment, and it was like a lifeline to her. When your social contacts consist of foals less than half your age, and very rarely, the few parents that bothered to check upon their precious foal's education and grades —usually complaining to her how she was not doing her job or understanding the special needs of the [insert lazy delinquent's name here]. So kids and adults with families. What an enviable network she had for her high-flying socialite lifestyle.
Well there was Twilight, but half the time the librarian was too immersed in her studies for Princess Celestia, and the rest of the time she was busy saving the world, usually from herself. The few evenings they'd had together were precious to the teacher, because she had someone to talk to about things other than foals and school. Although they didn't talk about stallions or anything of the sort. The cerise pony was almost certain that the bookworm was even less in the game than she was, and didn't want to ruin their friendship by opening that can of worms. Twilight had been nice enough to help her find lots of romantic novels from the library, which she'd read every night, inserting herself in the part of the damsel in distress that is saved from her troubled life or oppressive parents by a dashing rogue or a chivalrous young noble. But stallions like that didn't exist in the real world.
That left... who exactly? She pushed her tongue out in revulsion, more from the thought of a certain student and her troublesome friends than the awful beverage she was imbibing. It was all thanks to Apple Bloom and her friends that there was no way for her to talk to Big Macintosh ever again. Their horrid experiment with the love poison had ruined any possibility of a relationship between the two of them. Now whenever she even saw the broad-shouldered stallion he blushed and ran away before she could even get a word out. They'd agreed to stay friends, but even that seemed like a convenient lie they told each other to avoid any more hurt feelings. He was a nice guy. He'd been a nice pony to talk to about nothing really, just to have him say "Eeyup" to her worries. She knew the stallion always listened, even though he was a pony of very few words. The quiet and down-to-earth kind of pony she'd always been drawn to. There was something about a stallion who made his living from the earth, working from dawn till dusk to make a living...
His broad shoulders and his strong back glistening from the day's hard work. His messy tousle of a mane glued to his neck from the perspiration. And he'd never complain about any task —He'd dragged a whole house to get to me when we were under the effects of the poison! What could I, a mere weak mare do against him If he were to just pick me up on that sleek muscular back of his like a little filly while I hammer futilely on his tasty flanks. And then he'd carry me into a barn and throw me on a pile of hay, not being too rough, but not too gentle either. As I lay there on my back, helpless and cowering before the gigantic stallion, I'd see Little Mac, although it could only be considered "little" compared to the huge beast of muscle and testosterone standing above me. His eyes would gleam from unsated lust in the darkness of the barn as he'd slowly bend down to ravage me, his gigantic member fully erect. At first I'd struggle, but then surrender, because I want him so badly, my desperate need for sex overcoming my other senses as I start spreading my—
"Miss Cheerilee?" a small voice woke the teacher from her daydream with a start, making her knock her half-finished cup of coffee on her hoof. She suppressed the urge to hit something fragile and bit her lip not to shout out from the pain. Instead she turned around with a waxen grin on her face to see the source of her latest interruption. It appeared to be the trio of ponies she wanted to see the least right at that moment. Crusaders or something along those lines they called themselves. The names she called them in her mind were a lot worse, the trio causing more trouble for her than the rest of the class combined.
They're not that bad, they're just rambunctious kids that have a little too much energy. Who poisoned me, ruined my reputation on several occasions— SMILE! Maybe this is NOT one of the days I regret waking up after all. Though I doubt it...
"Umm... sorry to bother you during the break Miss Cheerilee." The one speaking was Sweetie Belle, probably the most manageable of the three.
At least she didn't usually come to the classroom with her scooter, or show up at school with weird diseases that caused widespread panic around town... SMILE! YOU CAN DO IT!.
"Oh it's not a bother. But shouldn't you be outside playing with your friends?" Or planning the next way you are going to make my life more miserable. "The next lesson is starting soon and you need LOTS of fresh air to keep you energetic and attentive during class!"
Or why don't I just hang you up from the ceiling beams from your legs along with your friends and just let you simmer for a while. Maybe if I some day brought a riding crop to class. Or maybe a whip... The thought of throttling and beating up her precious students wasn't unfamiliar to the teacher, or quite possibly to any teacher in existence. Why did they remove corporal punishment from schools? They used to even have stocks in schools, specifically designed for smaller hooves. And there was none of this pampering and—
"We will! But we kinda found something." The unicorn filly ribbed her orange pegasus friend, who spat out a small object she'd been holding in her mouth. Cheerilee had to shake her head again to get the mental image of Scootaloo tied up in stocks while her teacher slowly sawed his precious scooter in half in front of her. At least the thought made it easier to smile to the fillies.
"A cassette? Where did you find this?"
"It was just lying on the ground outside, near the steps. You told us that we shouldn't bring anything like this to school so we thought we'd better give it to you."
"Well done girls! You really have sharp eyes to find something like this on the ground."
A Forbidden Item! In my school! I'm going to get medieval on these little bi... darlings. I've been looking for an excuse.
"Sharp eyes?" It was Scootaloo's turn to speak. "How could we miss something like that? It's— Ouch! Why'd you hafta hi—"
Yes please. Why don't you hit her harder next time? I'll give you a bit for every bruise.
"Well, we're just gonna go play outside, right girls?" interrupted Apple Bloom, pushing the two other fillies outside with her forehooves.
"Girls?" the teacher called after them.
"Uhm... yes Miss Cheerilee?" The three fillies couldn't have looked more guilty even if they wore black masks over their eyes and had a sack over their shoulders with a crowbar sticking out of it.
"Is there something you'd like to tell me? This doesn't involve one of your haphazard plans again, now does it?"
"Oh no, Miss Cheerilee!" they said in practiced unison. If one were to look at the trio, the light shining through the small window would surely play a trick on the onlooker and make it look like the fillies had tiny angelic halos above their heads. For the teacher, the shadows merely formed evil runes on their faces, just under their horns.
"And I'm sure Scoots doesn't even know what hapza... harpsa... that thing you said means!" added Sweetie Belle.
"Neither do you, Miss Dictionary," grumbled the pegasus.
"Now now girls. We only have a few minutes of break left. Why don't you..." the teacher started, but noticed that she was talking to a rapidly closing door instead of three fillies. She sat on the sofa and gently placed one of her forehooves on her face. Outside in the corridor, a shrill shout of "CUTIE MARK CRUSADER UNDERCOVER INFORMANTS YAY!" could be heard.
Cheerilee added the other forehoof to her throbbing temples.
"One day. One. Day," she slowly said to herself. The teacher spent the few remaining minutes of her short break mourning for her coffee as she cleaned it from the floor, and inventing new ingenious methods of torture, just for three very special students.
The day was almost over and the teacher was going over the homework assignments.
"Remember to read the WHOLE text! It continues on the next page. You won't learn everything you need to know about bees and how honey is made otherwise!" She had to fight the rustle of books being hastily shoved into saddlebags and anxious foals already getting up to dash outside.
"And there is one other thing. Please sit down, class," Cheerilee added, to the chorus of moans and grumbles. After all the colts and fillies had returned to their seats, she continued: "As you all know, we have certain rules at the school. One of them is that you are not supposed to bring anything to school that is not necessary for schoolwork. That means no candy, no comics, no toys..." She picked the offending item from the drawer of her desk and held it up dramatically. "...or music, in this case, cassettes." The class was now reaching forward, trying to see the criminal evidence with their own eyes. "This was found on the steps of the school on the last break by our hawk-eyed friends Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo." The trio of fillies beamed at the praise they were getting. "Now, I'd like the pony who brought this cassette to school to please raise their hoof." She waited for a few moments to see if anypony would own up to the hideous crime. When the confession didn't seem to be coming, she turned to page fifteen of the Equisition Torture Manual. "Now, we will all sit here after school until somepony owns up." This was met with several more groans and murmurs.
"But... but Miss Cheerilee? Do we hafta stay too? We brought the cassette to you, so shouldn't we be, youknow, automatically innocent?" quipped Sweetie Belle.
"Yes you did a good job bringing it to me, and that is why we are sitting here now to find the culprit." There were several murderous glares pointed at the three fillies. "It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the class if you could leave before the others, now would it?"
Be sure to thank them after school. I think there's a nice puddle just outside.
"N-no. I guess not," managed the white unicorn with a nervous laughter while trying to slide as low on her seat as possible to escape the looks she was getting.
"Now I'm in no hurry to leave today, so we can be here ALL AFTERNOON."
It's not like I have a life or anything like that to hurry to.
"And we wouldn't have to be here if somepony had gone by the rules," said the cerise teacher matter-of-factly, before continuing: "So, would somepony want to tell me something?" Cheerilee sat down and started looking around the classroom. Almost all the foals tried to look away from her, in case she decided to call them out for their misdemeanor on random.
I know you're all guilty of something, so having to stay after school serves you right anyway. And you made me spill my coffee. I think I burned my hoof too. And I'm getting a headache. This day just couldn't get any worse. Now suffer before your Mistress. Mwahahaa! Suffeeer!
Around her the quiet whispers of the lynch mob started. First they were aimed at the three Crusaders, thanking them for their very special after-school stay. Then they started looking for the real culprit while assuring everypony else that they most certainly weren't to blame. Some talked on how they were in a hurry, that their parents were there to pick them up, that they were going to be late from hobbies, adding more pressure for someone to confess. All the time they grew louder, until they couldn't be called whispers any more. Cheerilee listened to the voices, knowing full well that it was part of the magic of peer pressure. She gave the class about ten minutes tops before someone would break.
At eight minutes, a pale-faced colt lifted his hoof up.
"Shady Daze. Is there something you would like to tell the class?"
"Umm... It was kinda... me. It's mine. The tape that is. I'm sorry."
"Thank you. Class, you can go now. We're going to have a small chat with young mister Daze here."
The foals gave a collective sigh and trotted out of the classroom. The oppressive air made them walk quietly, as if they were still in danger of some divine retribution from their teacher. After a while, only the teacher and the nervously grinning grayish-blue colt were left in the room.
"I don't think we've ever had trouble with you before, Shady."
I really liked you. You even pushed that snot-nosed brat of a Tiara to an ink puddle downstairs. I was going to buy you an ice cream one of these days.
"I'm sorry Miss Cheerilee."
"You're usually such a nice student. You're quiet, your grades are above average... Why would you do something like this when you know it's not allowed?"
"I'm... sorry."
Ahh. The silent penitent. Should I really start pushing the issue? He looks to be kinda shaken already, and his friends will no doubt give him some trouble tomorrow. And he's usually such a nice kid too... Do I have any exams to grade? I don't think so...
"Well, I'm very disappointed with you, Shady Daze. Make sure you won't do anything like again. I'm not going to give you detention for this, but I won't be as nice the next time. I will have to give you a note for your parents to sign about this, though.
Mostly because I can't be bothered to sit here quietly for an hour without nothing to do. Detentions are probably the most boring things I've ever gotten stuck with doing. I can't even make the foals do embarrassing tasks any more. They tell me it's 'inequine' and 'creates an oppressive environment that is counterproductive to learning.' Not even corner time or making them have the detention standing up.
Cheerilee took the top page of her notebook and scribbled down:
Misdemeanor in school: Contraband item. Confiscated.

She had to write another paper that had the proper frills to send for parents.
"Now go run on home and I'll see you bright and early tomorrow."
The colt moved for the door, but stopped at the door.
"Was there something else, Shady?"
"Uhm... I... was kinda... Couldn't I get the tape back?"
"I don't think that'll be possible. Everything like that has to be confiscated to the school. You can get it back at the end of the semester, or maybe Hearth's Warming holidays if you behave."
It's not extortion if they act better because of it. I'm sure it's written down somewhere.
"Could you... maybe make an exception? I mean... I really gotta get the tape back."
"Oh? Would you like to tell me more about the cassette?"
"No... I mean... It's nothing special... I was just... Please?"
"End of the semester, Shady. Now off you go."
The colt's ears flattened along his head and it looked like he was going to say something more, but decided against it and ran off.
There's something more to this, isn't there? I just wish I knew what. But I'll be darned if I'm gonna do anything about it. Big Bad Teacher is very, very hungry. Must feed. Growl.
Cheerilee slouched on the couch after the grueling day of work. She'd just finished her small bag of leftovers from lunch and was looking at the ceiling with half-closed eyes. The radio was playing some talk-show about something to do with taxes. Two tired male voices drifted down onto her with words like 'refund' 'policy' 'social benefits' and for some reason 'pudding'. Her lazy eyes moved gently to the window on the opposite wall. It was still hot outside, hotter than usual for this time of the year. Once again she wished she had one of those spinning things to put on the ceiling to cool the air. The mayor hadn't approved the idea. Cheerilee brushed her gently striped mane out from her eyes, and her mouth turned into a wince. Her forehoof still hurt from the coffee earlier, and upon closer examination she found that her skin was hot and redder than usual. Apparently she needed to put something on it when she got home. As she let her hoof flop down, her eyes fell on the mysterious cassette on the table that she'd taken from Shady.
Probably some of that PON-3 dubtrot crap all the kids are listening right now. They wouldn't know good music if it hit them in the ass. Not like when I was younger... Her eyes shot open. Am I already thinking like that? Isn't that a definite sign that I'm getting old? She got off the couch, her drowsiness having dissipated into a small personal house of horrors ride, aptly named: "My life."
What the hay happened? I was a cool kid, all the colts were after me. Not like I didn't let them catch me, either. I loved to go to concerts, to hang out, to get drunk on clover, salt and tequila. When did I turn to an... old maid? She darted for the mirror standing in the corner. No wrinkles yet, smooth mane, coat is glistening thanks to those vitamins I take. Horseapples I remember when I didn't have to take anything like that. I could go without sleep for two days and still look as fresh as if I'd just woken up. But I don't look OLD. Actually I think I look even better than as a teenager.
She turned around in front of the mirror. My flanks have gotten a bit fuller, not bigger. My legs are still smooth. And there's the cutie mark that all my friends always teased me about when we were smoking clover. Smiling flowers, yeah right. Nice cutie mark to have as a teenager. But I look absolutely fine, and sexy. She gave a little shake of her rump for the mirror. Then why is it that no stallions ever look at me? Am I that repulsive? Why can't I see it for myself? Do I look older? Am I just too used to looking at my tired eyes and fake smiles that I've forgotten what it feels like to be young?
That's a load of horseapples if anything! I'm still young! I'll show them.
She went to the table and picked up the tape and slammed it into the cassette slot of the old radio. Who even used cassettes any more? Lucky the school hasn't upgraded their hardware in years. So let's hear it. Let's rock to the new hip music that all the cool kids listen to. Let's BOOGIE!
She pushed play, and luckily she'd gotten the cassette in the right side up and didn't have to turn it around. She took a few steps back and pushed her mane behind her ears, ready to dance to whatever horror would gush out the speakers. But when the first notes started, her mouth flopped open.
This... this is... I know this song.
"I come home in the morning light. My mother says when you gonna live your life right?" Cyndi Galloper sings in her childish high voice.
Without even noticing, Cheerilee had started moving her hooves across the floor and her head bobbed from side to side to the obvious drum machine and the cheap electric sounds of her youth. When the chorus hit her, she was already singing along, doing a little pirouette in the process.
"Fillies just wanna have fuuun!"
This is the music I used to party to. Shady Daze likes to listen to music like this? Does this mean I'm not as old as I thought? I think I like him even more now. Maybe I need to give him a better grade or something.
Her thoughts were shattered as the song ended and the next one began. This one was even more familiar to her, from the singers to the fake weather sounds. The teacher was barely a grown-up now as she spun around in the cramped room and sang along the Weather Fillies performing the only song she's ever heard from them. She turned the volume up until it started breaking in the ages-old speakers. The lyrics sprung to her mind like she'd listened to the song just yesterday and she sang along with them, even louder than before.
"It's raining stallions, OH CELESTIA It's raining stallions! I'm gonna go out and I'm gonna get absolutely soaking wet!"
I still remember my friends teasing me when I didn't understand the joke about getting wet in the song. Guess growing up has it's perks too, right? She turned around and started shaking her rump to the mirror, seeing her tail dance from side to side as her flanks started doing large figure-eights to the music. Cheerilee looked at herself in the mirror, feeling hot and sweaty.
No kid today knows how to shake their booty. Heck, they don't even HAVE a booty like me.
She gave her rump a slap in front of the mirror and bent lower, watching herself over a shoulder. Her tail was swishing around like a propeller, and a small trickle of liquid started running down her legs.
It's been so long since I even felt like doing stuff like this.
The tape went quiet for a while, and when the familiar syntesised melody arrived to her ears, she was taken down a spiraling path down Memory Lane.
It just had to be this song. I can still remember how gorgeous I thought Van Halter looked on stage, and my boyfriend kept rubbing my flanks all the while and telling me how hot I looked in my perm and the new pleather jacket with the giant shoulder pads. And then on the way home we started kissing and he asked if I wanted to and I said yes before he could even finish. And I remember myself ending on top and riding his hard shaft as he kept grinding his hips up to mine. And the colt told me afterwards he'd been sitting on a briar bush the whole time we made love.
Cheerilee's hoof had found it's way between her legs and she started rubbing against her wet slit, still shaking her hindquarters in the air. The next song was Let's Get Crazy from who cares what artist, and she obliged. She lifted one of her hindhooves on the back of the couch and started rubbing more intently on her stretched wetness, imagining a massive stallion about to insert himself deep into her pink paradise. And then everything happened at the same time, her hoof hitting her in just the right spot, the song blaring on full, her hips starting to gyrate and shudder as she was about to hit her first orgasm in Celestia knows how long, and the small colt falling on his face from his hiding place behind the closed door.
They ended up lying only inches apart on the floor, the blushing teacher about to climax, riding the waves of pleasure between her legs, and the pale gray colt with a black mane pointing backwards on his head like he'd been going at one hundred miles an hour just a moment before. Through her blurred vision the mare thought the pony in front of her was Shady from earlier, but then she noticed the wings jutting wide apart on his back.
"RUMBLE?!" she shouted, and they both bolted up in panic. Cheerilee slammed the radio shut and turned to look at the colt, who was already out the door. It didn't take her too long to catch the struggling colt's tail between her teeth and carry her back to the Lounge. The smells of old coffee and aroused mare slammed into her nose, and her panic only deepened as the colt shouted at the top of his voice:
"Please, Miss Cheerilee! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! Honest!"
CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP I just got caught hoofing myself in front of a student. I'm SO going to get fired for this. If I'm lucky! They're going to arrest me for foal molesting. She just dropped the colt on the floor and kicked the door shut.
"What did you see?!" she shouted at the colt.
Rumble only cowered down on his stomach, trying to find a hiding place in the middle of the floor. Only a small whimper escaped the horrified foals lips.
"WHAT! DID! YOU! SEE?!"
"E-everything."
Cheerilee's hooves started giving in under her and she had to sit down on the couch. Tears were welling in her eyes and she couldn't hold them inside any more. With a large sob she covered her eyes and crumpled forward, shaking in horror, trying to shut everything outside away, to pretend that if she hid long enough, the things around would never have happened.
She didn't know how long she'd been crying, but a familiar song playing from the radio shook her up from her catatonia. It had been one of her favorites when she was young. A tender song by Phil Coltins. Cheerilee felt something brush against her leg, and through tear-blurred eyes she saw the pale gray colt gently muzzling her side.
"Ru... Rumble? What are you doing?"
"I'm so sorry Miss Cheerilee. It wasn't supposed to be like this."
"What are you talking about?"
"I... I made that tape for you. And I'm sorry I made you cry. I really didn't mean to."
"You made the tape? But... wasn't it Shady's?"
"N-no. I made it. For you. I was gonna give it to you today after school but I lost it. And then when you got all angry I... I chickened out and asked Shady to get the tape back and he said he'd do it if I gave him five bits and... Then you didn't give the tape back to him and... I was going to sneak in here and try to... steal it back. Cos... cos you'd know it was from me."
"I... I don't understand. I mean... it's very sweet of you but... how could I—"
On the radio, the last song slowly faded out. It was replaced by a voice. A shy, trembling voice that belonged to the colt sitting on the floor next to her.
"Uhm... Shady is this thing on? You sure? Okay. Here goes. And stop grinning!" There was some silent snickering and the sound of a microphone being dropped.
"T-t-that wasn't supposed to be on the tape... I messed that up too... " said the colt on the floor, his shoulder sagging. Before Cheerilee could answer, the voice on the tape returned.
"So. Yeah. Here goes. Miss Cheerilee, it's me, Rumble. Umm... Hi. I kinda made this tape for you cos I thought you'd like it and my brother's kinda the same age as you and we've always listened to them and I really like them and..."
There was some muffled speech, like somepony was holding his hoof poorly on the microphone. A distant sound said: "Yeah yeah I'm getting to that, okay!" and again, in a normal un-muffled voice, Rumble said:
"So... I kinda have a crush on you. I think you're the prettiest and... hottest mare in Ponyville and you're always so kind. And even when we do something bad and you get angry, I feel kinda safe at the same time cos I know you care for us. And I know I'm just a kid but I wanted to tell you how I feel cos you always say we should talk about how we feel. So that's it. I'm gonna give you this tape tomorrow after school. And uh... Bye." There was a small snap as the tape reached its end.
Both the teacher and student sat in silence in the musty old lounge. They were looking each other in the eyes. The small colt had a hopeful smile on his face, and the teacher had a glazed-over look in her eyes, but her lips had turned into a warm smile.
"That... that is the sweetest things anypony has ever done for me. Or said," Cheerilee said. Her head was still abuzz about everything that had happened. First the tape, then a confession of love from one of her students. And she was alone with that student, right now. As Rumble started pulling away, his mouth starting to form an apology, he was in turn silenced by Cheerilee's kiss. For Cheerilee it brought back so many good memories of what she'd done younger. She hadn't been much older than Rumble when she'd lost her first kiss on a dare, and she'd regretted it for a long time. The colt squirmed underneath her, but not from trying to escape. His hooves were twitching and turning from excitement, and he was visibly shaking.
Some thoughts of how evil she was being started churning in the teacher's head, but she pushed them aside. She needed this so bad right now. It didn't matter who said those words, as long as she had somepony to hold close. It didn't matter what would happen tomorrow. She would leave Ponyville, maybe change her name and try to find someplace else to work. Or travel somewhere. The world was full of possibilities.

"As your teacher, I think you need to be punished before we do anything more."

"You told me that even when you do something wrong, you know you're safe with me, right? And I promise that there will be something very nice for you afterwards. "O-of course I would!" He even managed a hurt look, as if his honor had been brought to question. "I was just... uhh... surprised. Thas all. Surprised. Yeah."

Cheerilee let the colt's imagination run wild as she walked out of the lounge. First, she locked the front door to the school. The term 'gaudy to the power of an eyebleed' was closer to truth. She walked around the room, closing the curtains and finally ended up at her own desk. "Climb up, young mister," she called in a demanding voice.
The colt quickly obliged and landed on the table with a quick flutter of his wings. He turned to his teacher with an expectant expression and a nervous grin on his young face.
"Now, Rumble. I want you to pick up a chalk and write 'I will not lie" on the blackboard one hundred times. And you can't turn around. And after every line you write, you will put the chalk down and say "I'm sorry, Mistress Cheerilee."
"Okay? Is that it? Sounds easy."
"Yes. you may begin. Oh and no flying."
As the colt got to work, Cheerilee walked up to her table. She leaned on it with her forehooves, so her face was only inches away from the rear end of the pegasus. The colt had to prop himself up against the blackboard with his forehooves as well and hold the chalk between his teeth. The silent scrithing of the chalk on the board filled the room. After he finished his first line, the colt bowed down to put the chalk on the desk. And that is when Cheerilee gave his right buttock a quick lick.

"Quiet, Rumble. You have something to say to me."

"Isn't that what you said earlier? A little before you started whining like a little filly about how you can't take any more?"
"I... I really, REALLY mean it!"
"Prove it. Finish your task here and I will give you a little reward. I'll even let you finish it alone, and return in a few minutes."
"Yes, Mistress!" The colt took the short piece of chalk he still had left and continued his task while the teacher walked out, throwing a greedy glance at the foal on her desk. Humming one of the songs from earlier she went to the Lounge and entered the shower stall. It took her only a few minutes to clear away all the books and other clutter inside. The faucets also seemed to work fine even after several years of little use. Before leaving, she put the old radio on rewind. Still humming, she returned to the classroom.
Rumble sat on the desk, grinning his coltish grin that made the teacher's heart beat faster. His cheeks were covered with the white chalk, but he didn't seem to mind. Behind him, on the blackboard, stood row after row of blocky letters, repeating 'I will not lie' countless times. But the last line was different. It read 'cos Knights don't do that'. The teacher couldn't help herself from smiling at the foalishly cute show of affection.
"Now get your butt over here, little knight. There's a reward waiting for you in the Teacher's Lounge." Without waiting, the cerise mare walked out of the room and heard the colt tailing after her with a rapid patter of hooves on the wooden floor. Cheerilee rummaged through a small box and pulled out a few bright orange scarves that they usually used to mark teams for outdoor activities by tying them around the foreheads of one of the teams. She coyly sauntered over to the colt, and gently took one of his forehooves.
"I'm going to tie your hoove to the sides of the chair. Don't worry, it won't hurt."
"O-kay? ...Why?"
"Patieeence," the teacher said in a sing-song voice. She tied the colt's hooves to the supports of the chair's back, one by one. Now the colt was comfortably seated, but could only move his hindhooves. Cheerilee walked over to the cassette player and noticed with a smirk that it had finished rewinding. She pushed play and allowed the first notes of the hits of her youth start rolling out from the speakers. The mare walked into the shower stall and turned the faucet to make warm water start falling on her head and mane, which where soon drenched.
"Do you know what your reward is yet, Rumble?"
"Uhh... I get to... watch you take a shower?" the colt answered in an almost disappointed voice.
"Yes. But don't worry, you WILL like it."
The teacher turned away from her student and started dancing along the song.
