???'s POV
As I slowly regained consciousness, I got up on my hooves. I only remembered several things.
My name is Light Fire.
I am a stallion unicorn that exceeds in fire magic.
I don't know what happened before I was knocked unconscious.
Light Fire's POV
I had quite a headache. Everything in my vision was blurry. It seems like I have amnesia because I only remember the things that I had just listed (and, of course, the obvious stuff like talking and stuff like that). Where am I? From what I can make out, I saw that I was in a dark alley. There were several trash cans and water puddles on the ground.
The dirt that I was on felt a bit muddy. Water puddles were scattered across the ground. The air around me felt humid and my light red fur was wet with water. I'm guessing it was raining just recently or it just stopped moments before I regained consciousness.
As I was gonna get out of the alley, I caught my reflection in one of the puddles. I looked horrible, like as if I was in one hell of a brawl. I had bruises, cuts, scrapes, and scars. And my goggles (that were around my neck) had a noticeable crack on the left lens. My fire-orange mane was all messed up.
The one thing about me that caught my eye (besides the wounds) was just that...my eyes. My right eye was it's usual ocean blue color, but my left eye was a crimson red. What happened to my left eye? Did it have anything to do with why I was knocked unconscious?
I didn't know where to go. I guess I should find somepony to tend to my wounds...get help. That is if I could walk properly, I couldn't walk straight. Every time I took a step, It felt like daggers stabbing into my hooves. The pain was agonizing. As I left the alley, I accidentally knocked over some nearby trash cans.
After walking for several minutes, I came across a “building” that resembled a tree that had windows and balconies sticking out of it. When I tried to peek inside one of the windows, I saw nothing but darkness; The lights must be off. Next to the only visible door was a sign that had a picture of an open book on it. This could either be a book store or a library. Who the hell runs their business inside of a tree anyways?
I made my way to the door and knocked. As the lights inside came on, I was slowly losing consciousness again. Why did I start to lose consciousness now? Right when I finally found somepony that might be able to help me. I heard mumbling within the walls (or barks?) of the “building”.
Right when the door opens, My legs start to feel weak like jello. The door opens to reveal a sleepy-looking purple mare unicorn. Before she could say or do anything, I said, “Help...feeling...weak...”
Then, I hit the ground; Everything fading to black as I hit the cold, muddy floor...
Several Hours Later...
I once again started regaining consciousness. I opened my eyes and thought out loud, “Oh...my head.” I looked around and saw that I was now in a hospital room. I was in a soft bed that basically felt like a cloud. I tried to sit up, but I felt some slight pain.
Everything that you would expect to be in a hospital room was there. The equipment, the curtain that separated the two beds that were in same room, and a television at one corner of the room. My bed had a bedside table. Resting on top of said table were my cracked goggles.
I turned my head and saw that the second bed in the room was occupied. In it was a sleeping light-blue pegasus that had her wings wrapped in bandages. I don't know why, but something about her seems familiar...like as if I've seen her before. This is gonna drive me crazy. Who the hell is she?
Soon, a nurse-pony comes into the room and notices that I am awake. The nurse pony had a white coat, a piny mane (tied into a bun), and her cutie mark was that of a red cross that had small hearts around each corner. She also wore a nurse's hat.
“Oh, You're awake.”, The white mare says.
“Yeah...What happened?”, I asked.
“A purple unicorn, by the name of Twilight Sparkle, dropped you off here in the middle of the night. Then, we took you into our care.”, She replied.
“What time was it when she dropped me off?”
“It was around four in morning. Now what is your name? Twilight said she didn't know your name.” 4 in the morning...That would explain why nopony was around town at the time...
“My name's Light Fire.”
“Alright. Now, lay down and rest. Your wounds still need to heal up.”, She said.
I did as the nurse-pony said. She writes something on the clipboard attached to my bed (Probably my name). She turns around to leave the room.
“Wait, nurse...” I said.
“What is it?” She asked.
“What town are we in?”
“You're in ponyville. Why? Are you lost or something?”
“No, just wondering. Thanks.” Ponyville, huh? I heard about this small town before.
Then, she leaves the room, leaving me (and the sleeping pegasus) alone.
Several Minutes Later...
As I was reading a “Daring Do” book (The nurse dropped it off for me after I requested it), the light blue pegasus starts to stir. I didn't put my book down because it seemed like as if I was getting to a good part. Out of the corner of my red eye, I saw her open her eyes and stretch.
She looks over to me and says, “Oh hi there!”
I blandly replied, “Hi.” I didn't take my eyes off the pages.
“I'm Flyin' Spark. What's your name?” I could tell she wasn't gonna shut up anytime soon. So, I placed a bookmark in the page I was on and placed the book next to my googles.
“The name's Light Fire. Nice to meet...you.” This was when I first saw her. She looked rather beautiful and attractive. Her light blue coat looked nice and smooth. Her mane looked well brushed. And her eyes were about as green as a nicely polished emblem...
“...other is blue.” She said. I guess I just got lost in her looks that I didn't hear what she just said.
“I'm sorry, w-w-what was that?” I mentally slapped myself for that stutter.
“I said what's wrong with your eyes? One is red and the other is blue.”
“My eyes? Oh, my eyes. Yeah...I actually don't know why they're like that. My natural eye color is blue.”
“Oh and you know, There's something familiar about you. I can't place my hoof on it, but I think we've met before.”
“Really? I don't remember. I actually have a case of amnesia right now.”
“Oh...” She looked a bit saddened from what I said.
“Anyways, Did you know that I'm not from around here?” She said. This caught my interest.
“Really?”
“Yeah, I'm actually from a unicorn and pegasus village located on the element islands.”
“Element islands?”
“Yeah, Everypony from there has the ability to control an element. I can control thunder and lighting. And you know, I think I'll seen you around there before.”
“That's...why...” my voice trailed off.
“That's why what?”
“That's why you seem familiar, we've met before!”
She replied, “We have?” It seems like she has amnesia too...though not as severe as mine.
“Yeah...”
A memory of the islands started returning to me...and why Flyin' Spark looked familiar.
Several Weeks Earlier...
Light Fire's POV
As I left my house, I made sure I locked my door. I had lived in an average house in the middle of the town that was on element islands. I was gonna go to Element Forest to investigate. There has been some strange, eerie noises coming from the forest lately. And it doesn't seem like nopony else was gonna go see what's been going on in the forest. So, I took it upon myself to go see what's been going on in the forest.
I had several bags full of supplies with me. The bags were filled with apples, water, berries, and many other supplies. I wasn't about to go into the forest without supplies. I also had my goggles around my neck at the time.
It didn't take long for me to get to the entrance of the town. There, I saw a light blue pegasus that was about to leave town too. She had a bag strapped on to her side like I did. I've seen this mare around town before. We weren't that close, I didn't know her personally. We would often just say “Hello” to each other before going back to minding our own business.
“Hi there you, Goin' into the forest too?” I asked the mare.
“Oh it's you...Yeah, Those sounds coming from the forest are getting on my nerves.” She replied.
“I'm going there to. Why don't we go there together?”
“Sure.”
“I don't think we'll been properly introduced. I'm Light Fire.”
“I'm Flyin' Sparks.”
“Alright. Let's go.”
Author's Note: And that is the end of chapter one. I have several things planned for this story.
The Mane Six will be involved in a few chapters (and possibly other characters). Until then, It's just Light Fire and Flyin' Spark.
At the end or beginning of each chapter, there will a flashback or dream that will be like a prelude to the main story. Whether or not the chapter will lead to the flashback or dream.
Well, that's it for Author Notes, Until next time. See ya for the next chapter.
