Seeing through the darkness
RRRRIIIIIIIIIIING
Just like every morning, the alarm clock gently awakens Symphony Stoccato. She hates that little contraption since the first time it ever rang, but her mother got it for her out of love, and she could never say anything bad about a gift.
Symphony is a blue pegasus filly with a blue coat (same color as Trixie) and a flat mane the same color as Luna's coat.And she just moved into Ponyville a week ago.
"Symphony! It's time to get up!" her mother, a dark red pegasus mare by the name of Rhapsody Stoccato, called up to her, "it's your first day of school!"
Symphony's eyes opened wide at this statement made her eyes pop open. She completely forgot about that! She gets to make new friends!

"I can't wait to meet the new student!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. She had been excited since the new student was first anounced, and was doubly excited now that today was the day she arrived.
"Ah can't wait either! I wonder what she'll be like?" Applebloom added.
"How do you know it's going to be a filly? She could be a he! We only knkw that the new student is coming here today!" Scootaloo pointed out.
Sweetie looked at Scootaloo like she had a lump the size of a owling ball between her eyes but it didn't faze her for some reason "Look around, I can't be the only one to notice that there is a much larger number of fillies than colts!"
"I guess you're right, but it is a possibility!"
Just then, a certain Ms. Cheerilee greeted the class, "Good morning class! I bet you are all excited to meet the new student, so without further ado, please welcome Symphony Stoccato!"
On cue, a certin blue pegasus filly walked into the room.
"Now, since I was running a little late grabbing some new supplies, we can only answer a few questions before we start class," several hoofs immediately went into the air, "Twist?"
Twist felt ecstatic that she was called first, "Where did you move from?"
Symphony immediatwly responded "I'm from Manehattan."
Sweetie Belle was next, "What is your favorite color?"
"Green?" nobody noticed her response was more of a question itself.
Dinky Doo, "how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"
"A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could... chuck... if a woodchuck could... chuck... wood!" everypony let out a collective oooh at that, and Symphony felt proud she didn't end up accidentally saying woodchuck repeatedly.
Lastly, Diamond Tiara, in her infinite wisdom, asked "Like, What's with the stupid collar?"
Every pony looked confused for a moment, then noticed that Symphony was, in fact, wearing a collar.
"Actually," Ms. Cheerilee started, "that is the reason why I had to get materials in the first place, for you see, Symphony is blind."
Symphony then added "a better choice of words for that last part is out there somewhere, Ms. Cheerilee."
Diamond Tiara could only think this was going to be all too easy.
"Now," Ms. Cheerilee continued, "who would like to show Symphony to a seat?"
Several hooves went into the air. Cheerilee chose Applebloom.
"Hi! Ah'm Applebloom!" Applebloom told Symphony, "So, uh, how am Ah s'posed to guide yuh to your desk?"
Symphony just smiled and replied "Oh, that's easy!" and reaxhed into her saddlebags, after a few seconds, she pulled out a leash in her mouth, and gave it to Applebloom, "just put it on my collar and walk me to my desk!"
"Okay..." Applebloom proceeded as told, as Dimond Tiara was holding in a giggle after the leash was pulled out, "hey, why don't you use a cane? Ah've seen other blind ponies use them."
"Well, I didn't want to tap every single step in front of me, and I didn't want to accidentally hit anypony," Applebloom stifled a giggle at the thought of Diamond Tiara to end up being the one hit, "plus I would have to drop it whenever I want to say something."
"All right. yuh wanna sit by me an' my friends?"
"Sure!"
As they walked over to the empty seat behind Applebloom's desk, nopony saw Diamond Tiara slide a book from under her desk. Applebloom missed it, but she wasn't the intended target.
"AH!" yelled Symphony, "Sorry!"
"What're yuh apologizin' for? That was clearly an accident! Besides, yuh didn't break anything, did yuh?"
"No, heh, usually when I trip I take whoever is guiding me down with me." Symphony said as she righted herself.
"Well, your seat is on your right. Yuh need anypony to read for yuh?"
"Yes, please."
"Ooh ooh! can I do it?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"Sure! I don't really mind who does it, but we probably need to know exactly what we need to read first." Symphony pointed out.
"Okay class," Ms. Chwerilew began, "We will start with a partner assignment. You will partner up and make an art project."
"Hmmm..." Sweetie Belle hmmmed to herself, "How are we going to do this, since you can't see. I don't want to do all the work for something!"
"Well, there is more to art than pictures..."

"FINISHED!" exclaimed a happy Symphony. It has only been ten minutes.
"What did you do?" quipped Diamond Tiara, "Draw a circle?" She laughed at her joke.
"Diamond Tiara aside," Ms. Cheerilee said, eliciting a groan from said filly, "You did complete that a bit fast, why don't you show us what you did?"
Symphony was walked to the front by Sweetie, and they told a story.

"... And they saved the world from the robot pirate zomponies!" Sweetie finished the story.
Everypony except Diamond Tiara cheered and Cheerilee told them it was excellent but needs some tense changes.
Diamond Tiara just growled and crumpled up her picture. Silver Spoon looked upset about her hard work being crumpled and thrown. What? Did you expect Diamond Tiara to do anything? She then swore vengeance.
