Chapter 2

Reunions

Shade Groaned as his head ached from the dreams he had last night, he tried to remember what they meant.

All he could remember was that he should find ‘Vinyl’ as soon as possible.

“Good morning” came a familiar voice, Shade turned to meet Glade with a cheery smile.

“Morning” he replied, slowly getting up.

“I know it’s kinda early but we should head off for Ponyville before Ice gets grumpy again, you know what he’s like.”

“Fine by me, although do you really think I’ll find what I need in Ponyville?”

“Trust me, that place has given everypony a second chance, plus unlike Canterlot and Manehattan theres none of those uptight noble’s who think they’re better than everyone else.” The last part she spat aggressively.

“I guess you're not a fan of them.” Shade chuckled causing Glade to snap out of her state.

“Sorry I’ve just had some bad run ins with a few of them.”

Shade shook his head. “Nah It’s fine, I guess I’d be angry if a bunch of uptight assholes started looking down on me.”

“Anyway, let’s get out of here before hardass up there get’s up.” Glade suggested trotting out the door, shade followed suit. “Next stop Ponyville.”

Twenty boring minutes later.

Shade was quite surprised when he saw Ponyville, what he thought would be a small quaint village but this place looked as busy as Manehattan.

“Surprised?” chuckled Glade.

“Yeah... From what memories I have, I’ve never seen a place like this.”

“Trust me you’ll love it here, thanks to this town me and Ice have a great life, who’s to say the same won’t happen to you?”

As they walked through town Shade would notice some ponies staring at him as if he was out of place.

“Don’t worry, it’s rare that there are new ponies in town, which reminds me you should keep an eye out for-” Glade was cut off as a Pink mare with a poofy pink mane materialised in front of them, she noticed Shade and gasped then shot off like a bullet.

“-Pinkie Pie.” Glade finished smiling.

“What was THAT?!” asked Shade unsure of what had just transpired.

“Don’t worry, that’s Pinkie Pie the resident party pony. Now that she’s seen you you’ve got a party coming your way.”

“A party? why would somepony throw me a party for no reason?”

“Two words; Pinkie Pie.” Glade answered leaving a bewildered Shade behind.

Shrugging off the encounter Shade caught up with Glade and they headed to the market They continued walking until they heard a voice calling.

“HEY GLADE OVER HERE!” they turned to see a blue pegasus galloping towards them.

“Oh hey Navy I didn’t expect to see you here.” Said Glade greeting the newcomer.

“Ditto, Ice usually keeps you in when the weather’s like this.” he replied chuckling, he turned to face Shade. “Oh? who’s this, is he your coltfriend?”

Both Shade and Glade blushed. “NAVY, no he’s not I just met him yesterday. Shade this is my friend Navy Shadow.”

“Nice to meet you” Shade said holding out his hoof.

“Likewise” Navy replied shaking it.

“I was just showing Shade around town, do you have any ideas?”

“Well I’m going to see Vinyl perform tonight, she’s been really tense lately something about one of her friends going missing.”

Shade’s pupil’s dilated but luckily his sunglasses hid them. “Did he just say Vinyl? I should keep calm in case they suspect something’s up!” He thought.

“Hey I haven’t seen Vinyl in ages, do you mind if we come with you?” Glade asked.

“Sure I don’t see why not, the more the merrier eh”

“Hey Shade I’m sure you’ll love to meet Vinyl, she’s got a real talent in music so she could help you remember yours.”

“Wait what do you mean by remember?” asked Navy. Glade told him about how she found Shade unconscious in the snow and how he had very little memories. “Wow you’re one weird pony.” he chuckled.

“Meh.” was Shade’s reply.

“Anyway I gotta go meet up with the others, see you tonight guys” Finished Navy as he sped off in a flash.

“Geez he’s fast.”

“Yeah Navy tends to stick with stealth and swiftness so he’s known as the fastest pony in Ponyville... Next to Rainbow Dash that is.”

“Who?”

“Oh trust me you’ll meet her soon enough. She has quite a large competitive ego so watch what you say.”

“....alright.”

“Anyway,  I should show you around some more then we can head to the club.”

“Lead on.”

The Everfree forest.

A dark grey pony sat In the middle of a clearing, his mane was a messy black and white and his flank held a guitar with a comet orbiting it, his sea blue eyes observed a small strand of brown hair he had found at that spot.

“Where are you Shade?” he said to himself.

A few hours later

After leading Shade around Ponyville Glade was now leading him to Navy’s house, she tapped her hoof on the door and was met by a black pony with a green and black mane and A infinity symbol with a blade going through it as his cutie mark.

“Oh hi Atom long time no see.” said Glade cheerfully.

“Hi Glade.” Atom replied “If you’re looking for Navy he’s just finishing something up.”

“He’s writing novels... Isn’t he?”

“Yeah.” Atom noticed Shade standing behind her. “Who’s this?”

“Oh this is Shade, he’s coming with us to see Vinyl. Shade this is Atomic Vortex, Navy’s roommate.”

“Nice to meet you.” Atom said.

“Likewise.” Replied Shade. (wow these conversations need more colour)

“I’ll get him now. OI NAVY GET YOUR SORRY FLANK DOWN HERE!” Atom suddenly shouted.

“ALRIGHT I’M COMING GEEZ!” called Navy, speeding down from upstairs.

“Hey Navy.” said Shade.

“Sup guys, let’s go.”

Ten minute time skip.

Shade was awestruck with what he was seeing, there were at least a hundred ponies all grouped around the dancefloor as the DJ played. The DJ was a white unicorn mare with a two toned blue mane and a backwards double quaver for a cutie mark, her eyes were blocked by a large pair of purple glasses.

Shade couldn’t help but think he’d seen her before.

“So Navy, how do you know this mare!” Shade shouted over the crowd.

“Well a while back me and Vinyl were best friends through school and I guess over time we came to see each other as brother and sister.”

“Yep Navy got friendzoned by a good looking mare.” Atom butted in.

“ATOM STOP SAYING THAT ALL THE TIME”

“Make me.” He replied and was given a kick in the balls by Glade.

“Behave or you lose them.” she warned.

“Y-yes madam.”

Shade noticed that the DJ had finished her performance and was coming down off the stage, Navy went up to meet her.

“Hey Scratch how’s it going.” he asked her.

“Sup Navy and I’m fine, I see you brought your fillyfriend with you this time.” She nodded at Glade causing him to blush.

“D-dammit Vi quit saying that.” he stammered, Vinyl just laughed at his predicament until she noticed who was at the back of the group.

“S-Shade?!”  Vinyl stuttered, Shade had no time to react as he was grabbed into a hug by her.

“OMIGOSH YOU'RE OKAY SHADE I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!” she cried.

“I’m sorry Vinyl but I can’t remember anything, all I know is my name and that yours means something.” Shade explained sadly.

“Oh... Wait if you're okay that means Star is okay as well, maybe he could get your memories back!” Vinyl said hopefully.

“Okay Vi what the hell is going on.” Navy asked angrily glaring at Shade.

“Okay it goes like this...”
