Nightmare Moon escaped from her prison as the stars aligned, but what if she wasn't the only thing that escaped from a prison of sorts? Magic, being like matter, can neither be created or destroyed. People die, but what if that magic is a part of them? A god, the source of all magic in his world, is defeated, and seemingly destroyed. Cast into the void between worlds, his future looks bleak, as an eternity of nonexistance is not fun. Entering a different universe, he must find forgiveness for his past misdeeds. What better place than Equestria? Everyone deserves a second chance, but no one ever said that the path of redemption was easy.
