Riddle Dimensions
Chapter 5
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Whoa! Don't give me another heart attack again, please!" Spike asked.
"Heh, sorry about that, Spike!" Twilight apologized with a sheepish smile.
"Hang on...he's a dragon?!" Phil asked.
"Well, yes, he is just a baby dragon." Sweetie Belle explained.
"Hi. I take it that you're the mentioned human?" Spike asked as he offered a handshake.
"Yes, I am, and it seems I'm quite known." Phil commented as he returned the handshake.
"Actually, only me, Twi, Spike, the CMC, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon know about yer existance. But just be careful if a mint green pony takes notice of ya. She's too obsessed with humans." Applejack pointed out.
"I'll keep that in mind." Phil replied. "Oh, by the way," Phil asked. "How come some ponies are big, and others are small?"
"The bigger ponies are adults, the smaller are foals." Twilight explained as she guided him and the others downstairs.
"Foals?" Phil asked again.
"You don't know what a foal is?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, I sure do." Phil answered as he rolled his eyes.
"Then why you even asked?" Twilight asked.
"...you don't understand sarcasm, don't you?" Phil asked with a deadpan look.
"We don't even use sarcasm around here." Twilight answered.
"Oh. To answer your previous question, I obviously don't know." Phil replied.
"A foal is a young pony." Twilight explained.
"Funny, in Earth, they are called children." Phil repsonded.
"Anyway, could you sit in this machine, please?" she asked. Phil nodded as he sat down. He instantly regretted doing that as metallic bars instantly appeared around Phil's arms and torso, preventing him from escaping.
"Could you explain me why those bars are necessary?" Phil asked.
"They were here because this machine was originally intended to be used on Pinkie Pie, and since Pinkie is random, she could attempt to escape. However, these bars are still useful in case you attempt to escape." Twilight explained.
"Uh, Twi?" Applejack asked. "Are ya sure this machine won't hurt 'im?"
"Don't worry, it was completely harmless with Pinkie, so it won't be dangerous." she answered.
"...you remind me of Smiley." Phil commented.
"In a good, or bad way?" Twilight asked.
"That means you're a geek. No offense, though, and don't tell Smiley I said this." Phil answered.
"And how exactly does he looks like?" Twilight asked again.
"It's a she." Phil corrected. "And the key is to look at the face of one of the humans. If it haves a mouth, it's her. Also, she's one of the only 2 of my group that haves hair, the other being Zack, but just a little." he explained.
"Alright...but let's get started with the test." she replied as she pulled on a trigger. A metallic helmet lowered into Phil's head (barely missing it, since Pinkie is 2.5 inches taller than Phil, as is every other adult pony). As soon as it touched, Twilight's clever machine started to show the green lines, flashing lights and all those other trinkets.
"Strange....the machine doesn't seems to be producing anything from him." Twilight commented.
"Maybe ya shoul' go look for the manual of that thing?" Apple Bloom suggested.
"Alright. You don't leave, understand?" Twilight ordered. Phil did his best to nod, as the helmet was limiting his head movement. However, when everypony was gone, Phil instantly pulled both of his arms out of the metallic slots for the arms.
"I'm glad I am still 5, or else I wouldn't be able to do this." Phil said to himself. He looked at the machine. There was oddly enough a keyhole next to him. "Why would Twilight even have a keyhole on this machine if there's alterady a trigger?" Phil asked to himself again. He decided to attempt to hack the keyhole with the scissor he found earlier. He pulled it out of his pocket, and proceeded to attempt to use the metallic end of the scissor to turn the keyhole. Unfortunaly, the keyhole was mightier than the scissor, therefore, the plan was scrapped. Convieniently for him, there was a bengal resting on a table next to the machine.
"Hopefully, Twilight won't get mad at me for taking this bengal." Phil once again said to himself as he picked the bengal. Unfortunaly for him, the trigger would be activated if it was pulled upwards. If it had to be pulled downwards, then Phil would be able to pull it upwards with the bengal to deactivate it. But this isn't the case. He looked around the room, and he finally found a key strapped to a pole. Unfortunaly for him, it wasn't just a key. It was a whole key chain. He used the bengal to catch the keychain. The matter was worse than expected; the keys' names were written in gibberish. "Apparently, they don't write in English around here." Phil once again said to himself. He decided to test his luck. There were four keys; A yellow key, a silver key, a brown key, and a blue key. He decided to test the yellow key. He tried to put it in the keyhole. Nope. He tried the silver. Nah.
Now, Phil knew that it could be the cliché 'The last one is the right one'. Therefore, he jumped straight to the blue key. And to his surprise, it wasn't the blue key. "I just got trolled by the universe." Phil commented. He used the brown key, and guess what? It was the correct one. The lights of the machine turned out, and the metallic bars retreated. He was finally free. Surprise, surprise! He still had to leave the treehouse. He opened the door of the basement, and slowly made his way to the door, and...
"Hey, weren't you supopsed to be downstairs?" a voice called out. Phil literally froze, expecting it to be Twilight. Though, when he turned around, he realized it was actually Spike. "Yeah, nice attempt. Now head back inside!" he ordered. Phil instantly retreated back in.
"Great...now how can I get past him?" Phil yet again asked himself. That's when he noticed something he haven't noticed; A red ruby. If there was something Phil knew from the tales he readed back home is that Dragons are fond of rubies and other gems. "Sweet....this will help me get past him." Phil again said to himself. He kept the red ruby in his left hand, and opened the basement's door again.
"Haven't I told yo-Oooh!" Spike scolded again, only to stop mid-sentence after noticing the red ruby in Phil's left hand.
"You want it?" Phil asked. Spike instinctively nodded. "Then go get it!" he continued as he threw the ruby down the basement. The little dragon instantly ran after the ruby. Phil instantly closed the basement door, but just gently so Spike won't realize that Phil just tricked him.
After the baby dragon was taken care of, Phil headed to the main door. He opened just a little to spy on the world outside, but he was surprised to find that Ponyville was completely full of ponies wandering about. However, what made him panic is another thing. He could see the mint-green pony sitting in a bench a little far away. As soon as it noticed Phil on the door, he instantly closed it.
"It seems I won't be able to use the front door." Phil commented. He went slightly to the staircase to find a window that he could use to escape through the back of the library. To his luck, he found a window that was placed right next to a branch. He proceeded to move through the window, and...
"Hey! What do you think that you are doing?!" Diamond called out.
"I decided to relief myself from being stuck alone in that machine, and I couldn't help but try to have a view of Ponyville through this branch..." Phil lied.
"Don't you try to lie to me! TWILIGHT!!" Diamond yelled. Phil instantly jumped out of the branch, falling into the ground and proceeding to run behind some houses.
"Now I see what is wrong!" Twilight called out as she was reading the manual.
"What?" Asked the other 5 ponies.
"I forgot to change the machine's adaption. Since he is smaller than Pinkie Pie, the helmet wasn't reaching his head." Twilight explained.
"Don't you try to lie to me! TWILIGHT!!", a voice called out.
"Who said that?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Sounds like Diamond Tiara." Silver Spoon answered. Not like they cared too much, but they instantly headed to the staircase to see why she was yelling.
"What is it, Diamond?" Twilight asked.
"Phil escaped!" she answered.
"Who escaped?" she asked again.
"Phil is the name of the human." Silver explained.
"How he could have escaped? Spike was on the middle floor to prevent him from escaping!" Twilight pointed out. Just as she said that, Spike came in.
"Wow, that was very tasty! Hang on...where is he?" Spike asked. "Oh, don't tell me he tricked me into going after the red ruby in the basement...."
Meanwhile...
Phil was exhausted from running. He wasn't the type of sprinting, the only times he did it were when he had gathered the keys to the School door. And that was only once. The second time it was just a dream. Back to the story, Phil was simply too exhausted to continue. He came to a halt where he fell to the ground, gasping for air. He could hear some footstep noises that grew louder and louder. Phil, using his last bits of energy, looked upwards, to find the same mint-green pony he had sawn before.
"Oh, my! I had never seen a human up-close before!" She commented.
"Get...away....from me...." Phil blurted out before inevitably falling into a heavy sleep.
'...What? Oh, I get it. They probably told him to avoid me...those silly ponies, I don't know why they think I am crazy.' Lyra thought as she used her magic to teleport herself and the sleeping human to her house.
