The Doctor, in the form he had gotten use to since he came to Equestria, a pony, sat happily in the TARDIS. He had come to find out much of this world, such as it was ruled by two sisters, one named Celestia, who ruled over the day, and the other named Luna, who was younger than her sister and ruled over the night. How he was in a world of talking ponies divided into the 3 races: Earth Pony, Pegasi, and Unicorn. He had recently dropped of a fairly ditzy pegasis in her home and was seeking another companion to share his in adventures. He thought to himself 'What now Doctor, what will you do now?' Then the realization that in his blue box anywhere was possible and as a personal endeavor that he should use it to travel back and meet the two sisters near the first breaths of their country. He went around the cockpit of the TARDIS, flipping the necessary switches and turned the date to the first beating of Equestria's heart.
On streets of Canterlot, a lone figure walked in a trench coat with a hood and a coin dangling from his neck on a piece of string. He was visiting two of his favorite ponies to meddle with: Celestia and Luna. He had been there when their nation was formed, and since he had a major part in nearly every event of the nations history, he had just made sure only Celestia knew he was there. Suddenly a pony wearing rags, just on the cusp of marehood, walked out in front of of the lone zebra.
"Kind sir, could you spare a bit?" She asked in a feeble tone.
"My dear, I have no need for money."
Suddenly her eyes widened. She knew that voice from somewhere, but she just couldn't put her hoof on in. Then it hit her!
"You, I know you!"
The Operator gave a smile.
"I see you still recognize me my dear Minerva."
She felt like giving the zebra a hug. This was the zebra who had kept her from staring when she was a filly. Her mind drifted back to the rainy night where she almost starved to death. Then out from the shadows of that night a zebra stepped and offered her food. He had said that someday she would repay this life saving debt, and here he was, coming to collect.
"Why are you here?" She asked.
"Going to see some friends who are sometimes enemies and vice versa, but since you have came, I do believe I will claim my debt."
"I sorry but I have to no money to give you and I cannot offer anything."
Again the zebra smiled.
"My dear, what you believe to be a debt is something much more different than what I call it. You see, what I call a debt of saving a life is repaying that debt to ones dying breath, and I believe what I am about to propose will be quite appealing."
"What is it?"
"In the past I have had the help of several individuals who I have helped, that acted as my protectors and assistants."
After he finished his sentence he pulled out a coin from one of his inner coat pockets. It was a blue coin with a blue berry on both sides of it.
"This is a Blue Berry Coin, something that, once eaten, will grant whoever ate it a weapon. This weapon is the representation of their soul and the eater of this coin will serve me until their last breath. Do you agree to take the burden and power that comes with being my Assistant?"
Minerva gave a dazed nod.
"Well than eat this, what will come afterwards will determine the rest of your life.."
He flipped it towards Minerva. She took it in one hoof and bit down on it and began to chew it. Soon a rod of metal began to form in front of her. It was a baton made out of steel. Minerva picked it up in one of her hooves. She saw a small switch in it. She clicked it and the baton split into two short swords.
"Ah, two blades and a baton that never dull to represent the ever dwelling madness in your mind born from the need to survive and how it has sharpened you mind rather than dulled it, whether if you know that madness is within you or not."
"What makes you say I am insane?" Minerva asked.
"My dear, I am both the inventor and the recipient of the bloody, dreary, creative and eclectic state of mind that is madness. I know where it lies and what form it takes on." With this he gave a smile that was surprisingly warm to Minerva. "And my dear, the madness that resides in you is on the very cusp of perfection. I believe that I have made a good choice in you. Now, let us go visit one of my most liked and despised monarchs, I do believe we have trouble to stir." He said with a smile and a gesture to The Court of Celestia.
The Doctor was amazed. Soon after setting off for Equestria's beginning, he was greeted with the TARDIS sputtering and shutting down. He ended up in the Court of Celestia. He was far from the throne room and saw a figure in black, with a mare following him, going up to the throne of Celestia.
"Hello my dear, I hope that your tyranny has gone undisturbed?" The figure said with a gesture.
"Oh go to hell!" Celestia replied.
"I have been there and I must say, it now fears my everlasting madness." The figure said with a chuckle.
"Why are you here?" She asked.
"Oh I seek an event to meddle in, some history for me to affect in which you will, in the end, wipe me away from that history and claim that it was some other force. Not even your sister can remember what my silver tongue has brought her." He said with a wolfish grin.
"How dare you bring that up!! Do you have any idea how much grief my actions caused me? Do you have any idea how sad I have been for my sister ever since you convinced her to try and overthrow me?!" Celestia said with tears beginning to well within her eyes.
"I do not feel this grief you speak of. I only observe it!" The figure replied with a voice full of glee.
"Guards, throw this, this monster, in the prison!" Celestia said with tears running down her face.
The guards moved in on the figure and he rubbed something around his neck. Time seemed to freeze before The Doctor's eyes. The figure turned around to face The Doctor. He was struck by an eye of red and an eye of blue, both blazing in fury and madness.
"YOU!! You have sought to travel time!!" The figures voice seemed to grow with rage as he came closer to The Doctor.
The Doctor was afraid to speak, lest the pony flaring with rage do anything to him.
"Well yes, and you are?" He asked.
"I? I!? I am the one living fixed point in all of time! I am the creator of all forces of the universe! I am the living Ouroboros! I am the Operator! Know you not your actions of traveling to the past?"
"Well yes, you see I'm The Doctor, its kinda my thing to travel time." He said.
The figure seemed to shrink before him and his eyes lost the burning fire of their rage.
"Ah yes, one inhabitant of many a multiverse. If you'll forgive me, I was enraged at what you could bring about."
"How did you know I tried to time travel?"
"I have created the very energy that has allowed you to travel anywhere, and I have instilled it in this." The Operator said as he held up a black coin with the symbol of Ouroboros made in gold in the coin. The Doctor was about to speak again but The Operator rubbed the coin again. The Doctor was in the TARDIS, all screens displaying the face of The Operator
"Hello Doctor. I know you see yourself as omnipotent and omniscient. Well I seek to change it. When I have been done with the examples of my power, you will look before the world like a new born child in knowing that compared to my power, you are but a child." The face on the screen smiled and the TARDIS suddenly began to move and sputter.
"See you in Equestria's beginning."
