My Name is Cutie Pie
My name is Cutie Pie
Load Full StoryI watched the crisp, autumn leaves gently fall down around me, my mother and father. I looked up at the sky. It was turning sunset, so the sky was a mixture of beautiful colors. Pink, blue, white, they all blended together to make the most beautiful sky I’ve ever seen. I snuggled closer to my mother and she rested her head gently on mine. My father jumped up. “Cutie Pie, would you like to play a game with me?” He asked with a hint of mischief in his eyes. I smiled widely. “I love games!” I exclaimed and jumped to my hooves. My mother laughed softly. “You two are so alike.” She said. Me and my father grinned at each other. We were.
A couple hours later, my mom walked me up to my bedroom back at our house. “But moooommm, I don’t wanna go to sleep!” I exclaimed. She laughed softly and shook her head. “All ponies need their rest, especially you.” I groaned. “Fine.” I said, and climbed under my blankets. She kissed my head. “I love you, Cutie Pie. Sweet dreams.” She said, and flicked the light off. She walked over and plugged in my night light, which was in the shape of a heart. She walked out and closed the door softly behind her. I waited for a moment, and then heard her hoof steps down the hall. I climbed out of bed. I opened the door, being as quiet as a mouse. I tip-toed down the stairs and walked into the living room. I ran into the closet. I smiled widely. I should be a spy, someday. As I was thinking how awesome I was, I heard angry screaming from the kitchen. Were mommy and daddy fighting again? I listened. No, that wasn’t daddy’s voice, I thought. I saw mommy and daddy back into the living room. Mommy looked scared, but daddy was trying to look brave. Two ponies, dressed in black from head to toe, walked in the living room. “Is anypony else in the house?” A gruff voice asked. “N-No.” My father said, standing up to him. The other pony stepped up. “Good. Now, where do you keep your money?” A female voice asked. Why did she want to know where our money was? It didn’t belong to her. I was starting to get angry, but a voice inside my head told me to stay hidden in the closet, “I’ll never tell you.” My father said. The male pony frowned. “Wrong answer.” He said, pulling out a knife. “Now, I’m going to ask you again-“ He was cut off by my father. “Don’t bother; I’m not scared of you.” His voice gave him away. It was slightly shaking. The male pony chuckled slightly, and raised the knife. I closed my eyes. I didn’t want to see this. I heard my mother scream and a slicing sound. The female pony laughed a cold evil laugh. I felt the first tears spring to my eyes. The silently rolled down my cheeks, and I didn’t bother brushing them away. Why were ponies doing this? I thought all ponies were nice and loving. I heard the female one start to speak. “What should we do with this one?” She asked. He laughed a cruel laugh. “You decide.” She smiled and took the knife from him. I watched her with one eye make her way to my mother. I wanted so badly to run to her arms, for her to tell me everything was alright. I yearned for her touch, her comforting smile. I saw the knife gleam in the light. I hid behind my father’s favorite jacket. I heard my mother scream, and I sobbed silently into the sleeve. I heard the two evil ponies mumbling to each other. I heard the door slam shut. I opened the closet door, ever so slightly, and once I saw they were gone, I ran out. I looked at my parents limp bodies on the floor. The sobs were no longer silent. I threw myself onto my fathers dead body and hugged him. “Please wake up, Daddy.” I whispered, in between sobs. I felt a warm, sticky liquid seeping into my fur. I lifted a hoof and saw that the liquid was red. I choked back a sob when I realized that it was blood. I got to my feet and ran out the door.
I was somewhere in the woods, I had no idea where. I kept running though, I didn’t care. I was sobbing, so it made it hard to breathe. My lungs were on fire, so I stopped to catch my breath. I looked around me. All of the trees had become apple trees, and I thought I saw a barn up ahead. I walked slowly up and peeked inside one of the windows. I saw a beautiful orange mare, with silky blonde hair tied back into a ponytail. Her cutie mark was 3 apples. So that’s why there are so many apple trees, I thought to myself. There was also a blue colt with bright green and yellow hair. He had headphones around his neck, so I figured he must be a musician. He looked up, and we made eye contact. He poked the orange mare with one of his hooves, and he said something. She turned around and I bent down under the window. I waited, holding my breath. The door opened and she appeared in the door frame. “Who’s there?” She called, her voice heavy with a thick country accent. I walked towards her. She looked me up and down, then gave me a big hug. “Hey, are you lost?” She said, in a comforting voice. I nodded my head. “You want to stay here?” She asked, concern in her voice. I nodded. She led me inside. “I’m Apple Jack, and this is my good friend Tucker.” She said, pointing to the colt. He nodded in my direction. “What’s your name?” She asked me. I cleared my throat. “Cutie Pie. My name is Cutie Pie.”
