Oh, Blissful Days
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryOh, Blissful Days
It was just any other Thursday night. Rainbow Dash had nothing better to do so she decided to go and check up on Fluttershy, just because she hadn't seen her in awhile and just to be friendly, “It's what friends do right?” She thought to herself trying not to feel guilty for going over there so late. She had arrived at Fluttershy's just as the sun had set. She stopped, there was a peaceful quietness in the air, she deeply inhaled the warm soothing air. Then hoping Fluttershy was still up and not asleep, like most of the ponies at this hour, she cautiously knocked ... once ... twice ... three times, no answer. She waited. Deciding to try once more she knocked again... once ... twice ... and a third time. No answer. She patiently waited for a minute as she surveyed the area. The moon hung in the sky, with the stars sprinkled around it, and the leaves rustled in the wind. Then finally with no reply and not knowing what else to do, she left.
The next morning when Rainbow Dash woke up on the blissful Friday, she stretched out her legs and arms. Then yawning decided to see if she could have better luck with meeting up with Fluttershy. Leaving her warm bed she headed on down to Fluttershy's. Dash went past the market, Sugar Cube Corner, past a river and some hills and onto Fluttershy's. Then when she arrived at her good friend Fluttershy's house, she kindly went up and knocked on the door. First once ...*knock*... then twice ... *knock* ... then a final third time, *knock*. No answer. “Strange.” Dash thought out loud, “Fluttershy must be out of town.” Thinking about what to do next she muttered to herself, “Maybe Pinkie will know, she keeps good track of that.” Then Dash taking one last glance at Fluttershy's place, she left for Sugarcube Corner.
On her way she took her sweet time. It was truly a blissful day, the ponies down below looked like they were having a good time, and there were fillies in a playground playing around. Spotting Sugarcube Corner Rainbow Dash slowly drifted down. Landing on the dirt ground she trotted to the door of the shoppe and barged in. No need to knock. Glancing around, Rainbow Dash couldn't spot anypony. “Hello? Anypony here?” Rainbow Dash called out. There was no reply. “It's almost as if everypony is TRYING to avoid me!” She muttered to herself annoyed that there was no answer. Seeing nopony around, she decided to check in Pinkie Pie's room just incase if she didn't hear her. Walking to her room she started to pick up a strange scent, but trying to ignore it she faced Pinkie's door. “Pinkie?!” She cried out. Nothing. “Hmm...” Dash thought, then instinctively she knocked once, twice, a third time, and then waited for a reply. Nothing. A little suspicious she stepped up close and put her ear against the door. She heard nothing, but felt that she had stepped in something.
As she slowly lowered her head she realized she was standing in a small pool of half dried blood. In shock, she realized Pinkie might be hurt. Rainbow Dash grabbed the doorknob furiously trying to get in. The door opened and she stumbled in panicking. Dash looked around and spotted a trail of crimson colored dried blood along the green floor. She followed it keeping her head down, nervous of what may of happened. The trail stopped at a closet door. Rainbow Dash stared at the closet door for a few seconds, but it felt longer to her. Observing she saw it was a nice solid door, painted white with thin pink vertical stripes, but at the very bottom it was stained with a layer of blood and there was a thick red liquid oozing out. Upon closer inspection she saw there was a decent sized crevice as if somepony had been thrown into it, and their elbow had hit the solid oak and left that mark, she winced just thinking of how painful that would have to be. Then remembering her friend may be in there Dash snapped out of it and frantically tried to open the closet just to find that the door was jammed. Screaming “Pinkie Pie, are you in there?!” Rainbow Dash banged on the door. After a minute she realised it was useless. She needed help. Her good friend Twilight could get the door open and partake in the investigation of who had injured Pinkie. She couldn't even think of her being dead. “Not dead, she couldn't be dead.” She thought as she frantically left.
Rainbow Dash arrived at Twilight's house, and in a rush quickly knocked three times and waited. She tried to calm down and didn't want to frighten Twilight. She knocked again, *knock*, *knock*, *knock*, no answer. She waited about half a minute longer, no answer, maybe she was just busy studying and couldn't be disturbed, but then surely Spike would come down and answer it. All her hope sank to nothing when she heard Lyra call out from behind her “Twilight's been gone for three days, I think she said something about going to Canterlot.” “Oh...thanks...” Dash stuttered realising that Twilight wouldn't be able to help her right now. She turned to Lyra and said “I think Pinkie Pie has been k-... Inj-injured.” Dash stuttered. “What are you talking about? If she's hurt get her some help, not from me of course, I'm no doctor. Bring her to the hospital if it's really bad. Also say I said get well soon. Oh, and see you around. Bye!” Lyra said as she waved energetically taking her leave. “B-bye...” Dash responded quietly, but Lyra was already too far away to hear.
Rainbow Dash's mind raced. “Applejack!” She thought out loud, attracting some unneeded attention from other ponies nearby. “She would surely help!” Dash thought again out loud, ignoring the ponies who were looking at her. Then taking flight, she darted off to Applejack's. When Rainbow Dash arrived she looked for the tan pony, but didn't see her out in the fields. Listening, she heard blissful silence. The sun was shining down, yet it wasn't too hot, and the ever so slight breeze now and then enforced that. Then remembering what needed to be done she hastily arrived face to face with the door to the Apple family's house. Rainbow Dash knocked once ... twice ... and a final third time, taking it nice and slow, if anything to slow because she wasn't trying to cause panic, she wanted to stay calm, she was hoping that it was all a dream, what she saw wasn't real. Her mind drifted off. Then coming to her senses she realised that nopony was going to answer. She opened the door slowly, and cautiously walked in. Just to and check up on them, just incase, plus for that help she needed. She shoved the thought out of her head that Applejack could be hurt, but it quickly came back when she looked around. The mess was unsightly, there were books and papers everywhere, furniture out of place, and things just downright broken. There was also something else, as the house had an eerie feel, she could smell it, feel it, taste it in the air, there was blood.
Looking around she noticed cuts and slashes in the furniture and walls. Examining the ground she spotted multiple huge globs of blood. Following the blood streaks that all ran together she finally saw it lead to a door. Most likely a closet she thought. She stared at it for minutes, to scared to see what was behind the door. She knew there were four trails of blood that lead to this closet. She pushed the thought out of her head, there was no way somepony would just kill an innocent filly and an old senior like Granny Smith. Atleast she wanted to believe. Gathering her thoughts, she knew it was useless just to stand there. She had to do something, but what?
Rainbow Dash left Applejack's and hurried quickly over to Fluttershy's remembering how she didn't answer yesterday. On her way she just kept hoping Fluttershy wasn't hurt. Ignoring everything else on the way she finally faced herself with the door. She knocked ... once ... twice ... three times, no answer. In a way she wasn't surprised, and without waiting for a response she quickly opened up the door and rushed in. Looking around nothing looked out of place. Everything was in perfect place, but her animal friends weren't around. After searching for several minutes she realised she wasn't there, and could still be alive. “I need help...” She exclaimed out loud, shocked at her depressed tone of voice. “Maybe I should see if Rarity is ok.” She said out loud again. She left Fluttershy's residence a little scared to continue her journey, but she knew she had to.
“I wonder if Pinkie Pie is alright, what about her parents, Is the Apple family Ok? What about Twilight, when is she going to be back?” Rainbow Dash thought to herself as she flew over to Rarity's. She looked at the sun, it wasn't going to set anytime soon, she had time. She hastily made her way over, zipping through the afternoons sun. Arriving, Dash decided just to nicely knock. First once, *knock*, she heard a rustling noise, maybe Rarity had heard. Out of instinct she knocked again, *knock*, and another time *knock*. More noise, then it abruptly stopped. She waited another minute before deciding to knock again. *knock*, *knock*, *knock*...no reply. She tried calling to her “Hey it's Rainbow Dash, you there?” She heard a scratching at the door. Not immediately knowing what it was she quickly opened the door wondering if it was Rarity in distress. “Meow”. “Oh, I forgot about you Opalescence.” Dash said looking down at Rarity's snowball white cat. Then she looked up, regretting it.
Rarity's carcase lay on the ground. She had been stabbed in the face with a knife so much her face was just lumps of flesh and glistening blood. Her throat was just a messy bloody blob, and all of her teeth had been pulled out and shoved into her bleeding eye sockets. Her carcass was completely disemboweled with a mess of lumpy red organs laying out. The floor was dosed with a large splat of blood from the mess. All her limbs were completely separated except one leg that had been cut mostly through and was hanging only by a little thread of skin. Blood was still oozing out of the carcase as a wretched smell filled the air. She looked at all of the organs in horror and shock with her mouth wide open and not being able to uttering a word. Dazed, confused, and feeling a little queasy she slowly took note of where she was, what she was doing, and what she had to do next.
Rainbow Dash flew off to her home, terrified, just wanting the what use to be a blissful day to end, wishing none of it was true. She had trouble falling asleep though, she kept being haunted by the memories of what she saw. Finally after 6 long hours she passed out exhausted from the long dreadful day. Next morning, she woke up and looked outside, it was noon, she hadn't done her job in a while. She got up and prepared to clear the skies. As she worked she thought about what happened yesterday but pushed it aside, thinking it was all a big dream. As she bucked the white puffy cumulus clouds away, she tried to keep her mind focused on other things, but the picture of Rarity's mangled body was engraved into her mind. Thats when she realised she was hungry, maybe she could see if Pinkie Pie was Ok and at home so she could get a little snack. After she finished clearing the clouds and the bright huge yellow elegant sun shown down on all the ponies in Ponyville, she made with haste off to Pinkie's.
Upon arrival, she slowed down and noticed a sign on the door saying "Closed". “Weird” she thought to herself. Thinking about it for a minute she realised what happened definitely wasn't a dream. She started to freak out, and thought about Fluttershy. “I haven't seen her in days” she thought, and with that before she knew it she had arrived at Fluttershy's. Looking around, nothing was out of place. Then she went up to knock on the door. First once, twice, then a third time. Dash waited patiently, but no response came. Instantly she started to freak out even more. Fluttershy wasn't answering, and Rainbow Dash started to go insane with the thoughts that overtook her body. “MAYBE SHE WAS MURDERED TO?! I SHOULD DO SOMETHING! THIS CAN'T HAPPEN!” She thought to herself in a quandary. Then she quickly barged through the door and rushed in. She yelled out “Are you there Fluttershy?” There was no reply. There was no blood. There were no animals. “Strange.” Rainbow Dash thought to herself. “Fluttershy?” She called out, with more fear in her voice then she was expecting. There was still no reply, so she strutted around the house, hoping she wasn't going to find anything bad, but that's when she spotted it.
There was blood dripping out of Fluttershy's bathroom door, instantly it hit Rainbow Dash, and hard, Fluttershy was murdered. She decided to see if she could get in the bathroom, so she pushed the basic hollow wooden door open to reveal a horrendous scene. It was Fluttershy alright. She could only tell by the hard to make out Cutie Mark and her pink hair cut off and thrown to the side. Other than that Fluttershy was completely skinned, and her coat was stained a dark blood red and nailed to the wall, her skeleton sat there empty of all organs. The organs, brain, liver, kidney, intestines, arteries, blood, etc. had been put into the bathtub and completely mushed up into little globs of gooey redness. She stared at the horrific scene, and as all of what happened overcame her, she passed out.
Rainbow Dash finally came through, and noticed she wasn't in Fluttershy's house. “I'm dreaming.” She thought. Then she heard a voice. “Look who's up! Did you have a good nap sleepy head?” The voice asked with cheer.
“Where am I?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Oh this is my secret little place, I decided to take you here for fun!” The ecstatic voice ringed.
Rainbow Dash looked around. She was engulfed in darkness all around. Except for one little candle that gloomy glowed a few feet from her. “I was also thinking that we could talk a bit before you pass.” The voice continued.
“W-what do you mean pass?” Rainbow Dash said with fear knowing what she meant.
“Oh, that will come with time!” She replied happily. “Now I hope you can be more fun than the others, so lets play a game.” The voice stated. Rainbow Dash looked around trying to find her but didn't see her anywhere.
“Where are you?” Dash stuttered afraid to even see her.
“Stop stalling and lets start playing! Now the rules are simple, answer correctly or your gonna get hurt.” The voice replied with an evil niceness.
“I have no other choice do I?” Dash muttered nervously.
“Well, I could just kill you right now...”
“No! This is fine.” Rainbow Dash interrupted.
“There we go! Some commitment!” The evil voice replied, “Now we're playing my own little made up game, and each time you guess incorrectly I will cut you deeply.” Said Pinkie Pie as she walked into the light with a smile. “Let's begin.”
“Uh, how exactly do I play this game?” Rainbow Dash said with fear.
“Oh it's easy, I ask you a question, and you answer.” Pinkie Pie replied with a big smile.
“So it's like trivia?” Dash replied.
“Hmm, more or less” Pinkie pronounced ecstatically. “Now first question, let me make it easy so you get the feel for it.” she said.
“Oh, that sounds...nice...” Dash replied still struggling to try and find a way out.
“So the question is, what is your name?” Pinkie asked with a slight bore.
“Uh that's easy- Rainbow Dash.” She replied a little shocked at how easy it was.
“Ok so now a hard one so you get the feeeeeel for that.” Pinkie said making sure she put enough emphasis on the word 'feel'.
“Huh?” Rainbow Dash replied a little confused. “Why so much emphasis on the word 'feel'?”
“I said answer wrong and I stab you, now the question is what is my mane color?” Pinkie replied.
“That's easy, it's pink.” replied Rainbow Dash.
“Well no, it's actually a Brilliant Raspberry.” Pinkie replied with an evil grin.
“But that's not fair!” Argued Rainbow Dash, “It's close enough!”
“No, you got it wrong.” Then she pulled out a knife.
“Uhm...you were joking about the whole cutting me thing right?” Rainbow Dash said wishing it was true.
“Not at all, I'm going to kill you, and this is my way of doing it.” Pinkie grinned, then shoved the knife into Rainbow's leg. Rainbow Dash let out a loud screech as the knife went through her leg. The searing pain shot all throughout her body in great intenseness. Then Pinkie took the knife and twisted it around, tearing the flesh, meat, and scaring the bone, to making sure the wound was vital. As Pinkie twisted the knife she felt light headed.
“ARGHHHHHHHH!” Rainbow Dash screamed as ounces of precious life rushed away.
“Tell you what, guess the next one right, and I will help you out a little with that wound.” Pinkie said deviously. Rainbow Dash was in too much shock from the pain to talk, and let out some inaudible words.
“What did you say? Can you repeat that?” Pinkie said friendly.
“Ne-x...t question pleeeease” she whimpered, holding back the pain and tears surging through her body.
“Well you're welcome.” Pinkie replied. “Oh! Here's a good question, why do you think you are here?” Rainbow Dash thought about it.
“W-well, I don't know. Things just started happening, and now I'm here.” There was a long pause.
“But why do you think I brought you here?” Pinkie Pie replied annoyed at Rainbow Dash's last answer.
“I don't even know where I am, and I'm guessing you brought me here to kill me like you did with the others, not to mention you mentioned it earlier.” Rainbow Dash gritted through her teeth in pain and anger, finally accepting the situation.
“Correct!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed cheerfully, then grabbed a cloth, wrapped it around the wound, took a belt that was conveniently placed near by, and used it to hold the cloth in place. “There, better?”
“Besides the fact that I'm bleeding, stabbed, tied down, most of my friends are dead, and there's thousands of things I would rather be doing right now, yeah everything is alright.” Dash replied sarcastically still light headed and in shock.
“Thats not very nice to be sarcastic like that.” Pinkie replied with a bit of anger.
“BUT IT'S NICE TO KILL PONIES AND TORTURE THEM?!” Dash screamed back in disbelief, while trying to jut towards Pinkie, but only causing herself more pain.
“I'm not torturing you.” Pinkie said relatively quietly.
“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!” Rainbow Dash screamed with rage and tears.
“Oh, if you want I'll show you torture.” Pinkie said as she grabbed her knife. “That'll be no problem!”
“Wait, no!” Rainbow Dash said, but it was too late and she was out cold minutes later from the immense pain that shook through her body as Pinkie Pie took her knife and started sawing off her legs and arms. Even though Rainbow Dash was unconscious and never to wake up she continued to work with peace in the dim light, until she was finally pleased with her work. Thinking of what to do next, she left for Twilight's house. She was going to throw her a party. A very special kind of party. Just for her good friend Twilight, and nopony else.
“We had a great time visiting you Princess Celestia!” Twilight Sparkle said happily to Celestia.
“And I had a great time with you over.” Celestia replied.
“Well me and Spike better run back off to Ponyville so I can begin my studies, wouldn't want it to be to late when I return.” Twilight replied pointing towards the soon to be setting sun.
“See you around my faithful student.” Celestia replied.
“I'll come back whenever you need me again.” Twilight said as she waved goodbye. On the journey back to Ponyville she thought briefly about what kind of whack job party Pinkie Pie was going to throw for her return after being gone for a couple days. Entering Ponyville she wasn't greeted by Pinkie, so she knew it was going to be a surprise party. Walking through the empty streets she came to her house. Opening the door she braced herself, but was confused when nopony was there. Seeing one burning candle on a desk that was pushed in the middle of the room she walked towards it in awe and mystery. Then the door closed behind her and she spun around spotting Pinkie Pie. “Oh, hi Pinkie!” Twilight greeted her. Pinkie Pie said nothing, took out her knife and slowly approached Twilight.
