Golden Age

A unknown element was found in the United States. The element was given the nick name “ Element Omega.” The element held an incredible amount of energy. So much energy that it could power New York city for century's. Also the element sample retrieved was only the size of a quarter. For this reason the United States government launched a mission to find more of this incredible element, but the mission found no trace of the element on Earth. Scientists discovered the element had a connection to another universe. If the scientists were correct they could open a portal to another universe. The United States government decided to launch the Golden Age Project. The sole objective of the project was to build a portal to the other universe. The Government poured billions of dollars into the project.

After half a year into the project the scientists were able to construct a machine that could open a wormhole to the other universe, but the machine would require a large amount of energy to keep it open, and allow someone to pass through it. Element Omega fit the role. Scientists were able to tap into the energy contained in Element Omega, and the link connecting it to the other universe. The wormhole machine emitted a bright flash of light when it was activated. When the light subsided there was a mirror like wall. Scientists sent unmanned robots through the portal. What they saw was incredible; trees, grass, flowers, and even signs of animals. The scientists then did checks on the air on the new planet. The air was safe for humans to breath. The scientists were overjoyed by the news. The portal was also two ways which meant things could come and go from both universes. The next logical step was to send living things through.

The scientists started with lab rats. To there surprise the lab rats survived the trip to the other dimension. When the scientists tested the rats nothing had changed the were in the same condition as they were when they went through. The next step was to send humans through. A team of scientists went through the portal equipped with communication devices. They were also sent in wearing chemical suits. The scientists went through the portal. They said they didn't feel any discomfort from the jump. For what information the scientists gathered the portal entrance in this universe was in a forest. One of the scientists removed there chemical suit. The scientists was completely fine, and showed no signs of discomfort. The next step was to construct a base in the other universe. A team of engineers were sent through. Also a squad of soldiers were sent through with the engineers. The government was pleased by the recent progress, and increased the budget for the project.

The next thing to do was scout the land. So they sent in a advance reconnaissance team to scout the surrounding area. The engineers began to clear land for the new base. The advance recon team saw a town to day. The surprising thing is not the town it's self, but the inhabitants. They were ponies of all colors. The recon team is staying hidden, but they report the equines were definitely intelligent. They have houses, shops, and even a hospital. The government was shocked by the news of other intelligent life besides humans. They ordered that we send more soldiers through. The base in the other universe was finally finished. They had set up an electric fence around the base to keep animals out. The recon team remains hidden, but they keep giving us surprising news. There are three types of ponies here: regular (no horn or wings), pegasus (wings), and unicorns (horns). Also from what the recon team tells is the unicorns have telekinesis. This news further shocked the government.

The government took direct control over the project. We still haven't found Element Omega yet, but scientists found traces of it. We can only hope the government doesn't do anything rash. Great news today the survey teams found a massive deposit of Element Omega. If these samples contained as much energy as the sample retrieved in the U.S., then there should be more than enough to power the world for millenniums. An extraction team started to harvest the element.

We had first contact with the equines. Granted it ran off when it was approached by one of the soldiers. We only hope these were peaceful creatures.The news reached congress who then put Commander Johnson in charge of project Golden Age.The problem about Johnson is he is ruthless. He follows his orders to the point no matter what they are. When he was asked what would happen if war was declared. He said that all laws passed here don't apply there so anything goes. We hope we never have to get into war, but how could we know. Also if they were able to get through Plan Cleansing Fire would take affect. Which is the detonation of hydrogen bombs under the bases in both worlds. In other words complete destruction. The commander laughed at the idea that ponies would be able to get through trained military soldiers.

We had a diplomatic failure with the equines today. The problem was when a small group of the equine soldiers arrived. They were curious on how we got here. The real problem occurred is when one of them accidentally stepped inside the base. The soldiers guarding the entrance arrested him. The other two equines with him didn't like this. They also set foot on the military base. They were quickly arrested as well. There leader addressed him self as Commander Shining Armor of the royal guard. They were treated as guests not as prisoners, by order of Commander Johnson. A messenger arrived at other universe's base giving us a declaration of war. If the armor was any sign on how advanced there military was this could only end in a massacre for the equines. Me and my fellow scientists hope there is a peaceful solution to this, but Commander Johnson doesn't seem to share our enthusiasm.
