They had been waiting for three hours. None had seemed fit to be a good enough sacrifice to Isron. "Found one," Isron finally mumbled. Taro started to glow.
Taro was slowly transported back into his body. His brain was back. He could feel again. He took a deep breath. He could breathe again. He looked at his side. He had his same armor and sword as when he died. He stretched his sore muscles. Odd, didn't feel that long, but okay.
"Same old me!" he said. He looked around. A forest. "Where am I now?" Taro felt into his mind. He found Thatch, but he was shut off from Taro. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't breach the barrier he formed in his mind.
"Well Thatch is out of the question," Taro said to himself as he started walking. He exited the forest to see a town. Ponies and only ponies walked back and forth, pulling carts, some being whipped to move faster by other ponies.
He walked up closer to it. None of the ponies seemed to notice him. Something was behind him. He ducked and front flip out of the way.
"You've got a lot of guts showing up around pony territory!" said an angry mare.
"Yeah, guts doesn't begin to describe me," Taro said, standing.
"Maybe stupidity would do you justice?"
Taro turned around. His eyes instantly became wide, as well as the cyan mare. "Rainbow Dash!" he muttered in amazement. She was holding a silver sword. He took a step toward her and she raised her sword higher.
"I would advise you stay away!"
"Rainbow Dash, it's me, Taro!"
"I know who you are, Taro. You really are stupid for coming back after all these years!"
"What are you talking about?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about! That enchanted ring flashed, but it never pulsed! You came back, but Jarden was gone. You became worse and worse of a leader. Celestia tried to banish you like she did Nightmare Moon. You refused, ran off, and revived Discord! You ruined our peaceful nation and betrayed me! I haven't seen you in four years and I couldn't have been happier to never feel your filthy arms around my waist again!" Rainbow Dash raised the sword higher.
"Rainbow Dash, I swear, that wasn't me! It was the queen of the changelings!"
"You're a terrible liar. I know that we killed her!"
"We did! Plot holes are one hell of a villain. She brought back Discord." Taro walked up to her.
"G-get back," she stuttered.
"Rainbow Dash, I would never do anything to hurt you."
"No!"
"Dash," Taro said in his sweetest tone. "Oh, my Rainbow Dash. How foolish you've become." Taro grabbed her neck and knelt down to her level.
"Foolish?"
"Yes. I would never go against Equestria. I would never help a villain." He kissed Rainbow Dash. "And I would never hurt you."
Rainbow Dash cried and fell into Taro's arms. "I'm sorry, Taro!"
"Dash, it's okay. We need to find Discord and bring him down. Do you know where he is?"
Rainbow Dash shook her head. "He amped up security after you completely obliterated him."
"Come on Rainbow Dash! Finish off the human!" shouted a pony.
"No, he's not evil!" she shouted back.
"He's a human, they're all evil!"
"What's up with this?" Taro asked as the pony ran toward Taro with a knife.
"Tell you later, run." And so they did. They ran back into the forest Taro had exited only recently.
"You traitor, Rainbow Dash!" was all they heard the stallion say.
"What's happening now?" Taro asked.
"How don't you know?"
"Well excuse me for being dead for, how long was it, four years?"
"What, dead?"
"That's why it didn't pulse. I died, I never got out of that situation. Until I died, of course."
"So how are you back?"
Taro filled her in on what had happened in death. Granted, it wasn't much, but he did.
Taro looked back. Nopony. "I think we can stop now. So tell me, Rainbow Dash. What happened while I was gone, and where are the kids?"
Rainbow Dash sat down to start her tale.
