My Little Party

Twilight Sparkle decided to speak first, for every-pony's sake.

"While we were..." It was clear she was trying to suppress tears, but failing to. "while we were walking here. we saw a lightning strike hit the tree by Rarity's house..." Now there were tears rolling down her cheeks. "Then we saw it topple. fearing for some-pony's life, we rushed over to look at the damage..." By now she was in full tears and bawling along with Fluttershy and Rarity.

At that moment the door flew open letting in a ton of rain, and the baby dragon, spike.

"I came as fast as I could when I heard the news" he mumbled between breaths

"What news?" Pinkie questioned rather hastily.

"Look Sugarcube.", Applejack butted in." When we went to look at the damage. We saw it."

"Saw what?" Pinkie exclaimed.

"Her... Rainbow. Lying there. Under the tree. We all lifted it off of her. But..." Then Applejack stopped to wipe her eyes.

"But it was too late." She finished with a small cry.

The room fell silent and Pinkie Pie's jaw dropped.

Dead? Rainbow Dash dead? Rainbow Dash can't be dead!? She CAN'T! The pink, party-pony thought to herself.

The pink pony too burst into tears and the faint sound of the rain dripping down the window panes was all there was to be heard.
