Kingdom Hearts: Elements of Harmony
Welcome to Equestria!
Load Full Story“I'm bored. Really bored. Can't we do something exciting?” Sora asked while leaning over Riku's chair. Sora wasn't allowed to pilot the gummy ship anymore after he crashed it. He could shoot the weapons, just no piloting.
“Sora, what we do is serious business. We can't just go willy-nilly.” Riku expected the sigh that came afterward. He also knew what would come next. “Kairi! You agree with me right? You're bored too!”
Unfortunately, Riku once again knew what was coming. “Well, we haven't actually found anything bad happening to any of the worlds, so I don't see why we can't take a small vacation.” There it was. While Kairi might have matured while he and Sora were away, she still had that mischievousness that endeared her to them.
To make things worse she could now use her big eyes even better than before. She used to do it subconsciously, but now she knew how to get him and Sora to do things for her. It also didn't help that Sora had very similar eyes. Big and full of emotion. When they worked together to do something no one could say no.
If it was just one of them, he could resist somewhat. He didn't give in completely, but when they worked together any defenses he had were gone. It was like staring at a puppy, kitten, or some other furry and cute animal. You just couldn't say no.
While he was thinking to himself, he could feel their eyes on the back of his head. It wasn't like they were glaring at him, but it was more like they were forcing him to turn around and succumb to their whims. It took everything he had not to turn around and just keep his eyes on the screens in front of him.
Feeling them giving up, he was about to release a sigh of release when out of no where, a whimper. It froze him cold. That tiny little whimper was enough to shatter his resolve and just hang his head in defeat.
Hearing the cheer behind him, he couldn't help but let loose a small smirk. He had been getting pretty bored too, but he knew he needed to be serious and he wouldn't allow himself to goof off. Except when convinced by his friends. They were his kryptonite in that area.
Lifting his head back up, he activated the gummi ships automatic planet scan. Looking at the console and ignoring the cheering behind him, he began to wonder exactly how they worked. To him gummi ships were always interesting. They were able to travel the space between worlds and allow you to interact with that world.
Thinking about it though, always confused him. They didn't exactly travel through space, the vacuum between planets, but more like a dimension where they then found the next hospitable world to visit. He had asked King Mickey about it once and he was confused as well. Apparently the ones who knew the most were Chip and Dale. Unfortunately, they weren't with them. The ship used an automated repair system that was created by Chip and Dale.
They had a transmission system that he could use to communicate with those who had a receiver, but it was broken mid-call when Sora and Kairi had gotten overzealous with their practice. That put him in a foul mood for a few days and he had Sora and Kairi do anything he could think of as punishment. It didn't exactly work out well.
Those two always found a way to turn it into a game. It was like Sora and Kairi were trying to make up for lost time. Unfortunately, he was often the one who ended up in the middle. Though he considered that a good thing because he had missed them too.
Hearing a beep, Riku looked at the screen and saw that a world had been found. From the data, it looked like it was safe to visit and the atmosphere was hospitable. Though, he did find it strange the fact that the sun and the moon rotated the planet, instead of the other way around. Shrugging, he set the gummi ship towards their target and it opened a portal opened up.
Flying through the portal, he felt a strange feeling cross over him. It didn't hurt, but it still made him uncomfortable. Hearing some sounds of disgust, he turned around and saw that Sora was trying to... dance the feeling away? Kairi though, was trying to wipe it off like it was water. Shaking his head at their antics, he put his hands back on the controls and flew.
“So I told her, a cherrychanga, or a chimicherry, and can you believe that she thought they were the same thing?”
“But, Pinkie, aren't they the same thing?” Twilight knew she asked the wrong thing the moment Pinkie Pie's head turned slowly towards her.
“Twilight, I'm surprised. You of all people should know that they are completely different! Just the word alone is different. Take into account everything that goes into making one and they are completely different.” Just smiling and nodding, Twilight remembered exactly why she didn't ask Pinkie to clarify things unless urgent.
“So anyw- AAAHHHH!” Twilight jumped the moment when Pinkie went flying. Quickly using her magic to grab Pinkie before she got hurt, Twilight was surprised to feel that it was actually difficult to hold Pinkie still. She was moving like crazy!
“Twitchy Tail! Twitchy Tail! TWITCHY TAIL!” Hearing her cry of alarm, everypony around the two quickly dived into their homes or ducked under tables. Twilight unfortunately, was unable to move as she had to keep Pinkie from moving. Though that was no longer a problem the instant Pinkie stopped moving.
“Pinkie, what was that? I've never seen your tail react so badly before.” Looking at Twilight's face, Pinkie could only make things worse. “That's never happened before. My tail's never twitch so hard that it actually sent the rest of me flying. What do you think it means Twilight?”
About to answer Pinkie, Twilight heard a sound that she couldn't really understand. Trying to pinpoint it, she realized that it was actually coming from above them. Dreading looking up, but knowing she had to, Twilight saw something she never thought possible.
Some sort of giant and colorful thing was heading right for Ponyville! Unfortunately, Twilight knew that she couldn't do anything. The ship was far too close to get everyone evacuated and while she might be able to teleport far enough away, she wouldn't leave her friends behind. Besides, from the size of the thing, it wouldn't matter. The shock wave and explosion would catch her.
Falling on her rump, Twilight felt absolute despair set into her stomach. This was worse than when Discord had taken her friends because even then, she still held some faith in them. This though, she couldn't do anything. Nothing she came up with could stop it. She couldn't stop the thing as it had far too much momentum, she couldn't teleport all of Ponyville away, and she couldn't create a barrier powerful enough to stop it. They were all doomed and unfortunately, not even the Princesses would be able to save them.
“SORA! You were banned from flying the ship anymore! You can't land to save your life!” Yelling over the alarms was difficult, but Riku managed. He was trying to keep the ship on a relatively safe path and trying to keep it from crashing. Looking through the cockpit window, he saw a small little village right in their crash site.
Doing some quick calculations in his head, Riku figured that with a ship of their size and at the speed they were heading, the village would be destroyed and all of the life there killed. Pulling, he was slowly able to move the ship upwards and away from the village, but they weren't safe yet.
Sora had tried to land the ship on the planet instead of having it orbit and then teleporting to the surface. To make things worse, he chose to accelerate instead of trying to slow their speed. This brought them to their predicament of not having enough room to safely pull up and back into space. Seeing some mountains in the quickly shortening distance, he knew he only had one option. Turning to see that both Sora and Kairi were already strapped in. He turned back and activated the emergency protocol.
The cockpit fell apart into small gummi blocks that quickly surrounded them. After the blocks had each member in their grasp, they flew off in different directions. While they hated to be separated on an unfamiliar world, it increased the chances of survival instead of everyone dying. Closing his eyes, Riku prepared for the crash.
While gummi blocks were very amazing building materials they also acted as an incredible impact absorption system. This helped prevent death from sudden stops. As such, Riku sincerely hoped they would be able to take the strain.
Hearing a dull thump from outside, he knew that the gummi ship exploded. Well, that's what Sora and Kairi would have said, but it was more like a very quick and dangerous dismantling. The gummi ship used the power from its engine to quickly shoot every gummi block that made it up, all over the planet in order to prevent a crash. It was a last resort as they wanted the gummy ship in one piece in order to move quickly, but they had no other choice.
Feeling a great pressure on him, he knew that he had just hit the ground and while the gummy blocks were able to keep most of the G forces off of him, he still felt enough that he began to black out.
Seeing the thing move away from Ponyville had allowed Twilight's mind to reboot and it gave her enough time to turn her head to see the thing, 'It kinda looks like a ship', explode into falling stars.
Seeing the stars, made her gasp at how beautiful it looked, but she quickly jumped out of the way of a falling star. Looking and expecting to see a rock, Twilight was instead surprised to see a red block of some sort in the small trench it created. Walking to it, she touched it lightly to see if it was hot.
Surprised showed on her face as she actually felt that it was slightly cool to the touch. Hearing some giggling behind her, Twilight turned to see Pinkie and had her jaw drop. Pinkie had apparently put the blocks on her hooves and they stuck. To make things even stranger, she was actually using them to bounce around with. She was easily getting 6 to 7 feet with each jump.
Turning back to her piece and putting some pressure on it, Twilight was surprised to see how easily it compressed. Lifting her hoof off, she saw it snap right back into its original shape.
Looking around, she saw that quite a few of these blocks had fallen in Ponyville. Lifting her block with magic she quickly went towards her library to write a letter to Princess Celestia.
“What do you think it was sister?” Hearing Luna behind her, Celestia turned to regard her. Seeing her, she beckoned Luna to come and look at something.
“Whatever that thing was, I believe it was made up of these strange blocks. I was able to grab one, before it flew too far.” Celestia held up her yellow block to show to Luna. “I'm not exactly sure what this is. I've never encountered something like this before, and it's physical properties are incredibly strange. We'll have to test it to see if we can figure out exactly what it is and why that thing was composed of it.” Seeing that Celestia had made up her mind about the block, Luna felt that she needed to interrupt before Celestia got too far ahead.
“Well, first we have to round up all of those blocks that landed within Canterlot. Quite a few of them actually crashed through the castle walls. It spooked our guards as they thought we were being attacked, but no one was hurt.”
Nodding at Luna's quick plan, she knew she would have to address her kingdom quickly. While most of the time her subjects where rational, they could allow the silliest thing to throw them into a panic.
“Oh my head.” Pushing against the door of his gummi pod, Sora was able to get out and stumble onto the ground. He knew from prior experience that shaking ones head after a crash only made the pain worse, so he just put his head down and tried to focus on the cool ground.
After a few minutes of not moving, Sora allowed himself to move slowly and take a look at his surroundings. Trying to stand up, Sora quickly fell again once. Looking at his hands, he was surprised to see paws instead. Looking at his legs, he saw that they too were paws. In fact, it looked like he got transformed into a lion again.
Sighing, he stood up and felt those old four legged instincts come back. Magic was truly a strange thing. Looking around, he saw that he was in the middle of a forest. Looking up, he saw that it was now night.
Sighing once again, he jumped into his pod and tried to fall asleep. Navigating the forest at night was dangerous and while he could probably handle himself, he really felt like sleeping.
Groaning, Kairi opened her eyes. Around her, she could hear muffled voices talking. And it seemed like they were carrying her pod somewhere. Thinking about what to do, Kairi realized that she had to get out now. Who knows what sort of place they were taking her to. Focusing on her magic, she blew off the pod door and jumped out.
Or she would have if she hadn't felt all sorts of strange things coming from her body. First she felt like she had an extra pair of limbs. Also, there was something on her forehead, actually make that in her forehead. Falling out of the pod and landing on the ground reminded Kairi that her head hadn't recovered yet.
Hearing a large gasp, Kairi forced herself to open her eyes and took in everything around her. The moment she realized that what she was seeing was true, her mind shut down. Everywhere around her were absolutely cute ponies!
They came in all sorts of colors and shapes! There was a big one there, a small one there, a blue one there, and even a pink one there! However, as she looked at them more, she noticed that all of them were actually bowing. Turning to look around, she saw nothing. As she kept turning she realized that they were all bowing to her!
Looking herself over, she saw that she was definitely not the same. First of all, she had hooves. Then looking behind herself, she saw that she also had wings. Big, white, glorious wings. However, what caught her attention was the mark on her flank. It was a blue lined heart with a golden crown over it. Knowing that marks didn't just appear out of nowhere, the heart had to have some sort of significance.
Looking over the crowd again, she saw that they weren't bowing to her anymore. In fact, they were bowing to someone to her right. Fearing that she might have insulted the ruling monarch, she slowly turned her head and was instead surprised to see two other winged ponies were there as well. Though these hard horns.
Quickly lifting a hand, or hoof now, to her forehead she realized she had one as well. Letting it drop she saw that the white one was simply staring open mouthed almost like in shock. The dark blue one though seemed only surprised and, angry?
“Sister, why did you not tell me?!” Not giving Celestia time to respond, Luna continued, “Did you think I would be mad? To think you had a daughter and kept her from me. Trying to keep me from spoiling my niece aren't you?” When that one sentence ended all eyes were on Celestia and Kairi.
“Luna, I'm not...” Celestia was stopped by Luna's outstretched hoof. “Keep your worlds to yourself! I am taking my niece and having a nice long chat. I'll see you tomorrow.” With that Luna teleported herself and Kairi to the castle.
“So, new princess?” That single question from within the crowd seemed to spark a frenzy as all the ponies tried to find out more information about Celestia's new 'daughter'.
Good? Bad? What should Riku look like?
Writing in a certain pony's character is hard. Also, do I have any mistakes?
