Crystals Can be Delicate
Disobeying a Princess.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight slowly snuck through the corridors of Canterlot Castle, periodically stopping to look around and make sure no one was watching. She was decked out in her black jumpsuit that she had used while looking for the time spell. She peeked around a corner to see a blank wall. Twilight looked at her map, she was very confused. The map of the castle she had stolen from Celestia's private quarters clearly indicated that the Royal Archives should have been right there.
Twilight sat down and began to think. She must have made a wrong turn somewhere, so she retraced her steps back to the kitchen. Twilight then turned around and headed back to the area where the Archives were supposed to be. After a while she ended up back at the wall, no, she hadn't taken a wrong turn, she was sure she'd followed every single direction on the map. She then trotted up to the wall to study it more closely. She prodded it with her hoof, only to recieve a sharp electric shock. She flinched and stepped back.
Twilight channeled magical enery into her horn, casting a purple glow onto the walls around her. She then cast a basic disillusion spell onto the wall in front of her. The wall stretched and squashed until it disintegrated to reveal a large wooden door behind it. Twilight looked at the door and noticed that there was another lock similar to the one on the door that guarded the elements. Twilight knew how these locks worked and inserted her horn.
Twilight channeled a large amount of energy into her horn and fired it into the lock. There was a faint clicking sound and the door opened. Twilight paused to catch her breath. The amount of magic required to open the door may have been nothing to an alicorn, but to a normal unicorn it was almost impossible. The only reason Twilight was able to open the door was because of the sheer power she had inside of her, but despite her magical prowess she was still exhausted from the display.
The purple unicorn stepped inside the doorway and looked on in astonishment, there were literally millions of books all in alphabetical order. When she began to search the vast library it was limits like a maze. She went to the C section and hoofed along, looking for anything about the crystal ponies. She came upon a large collection, and after hours of searching she found a book entitled "Crystal Ponies: The Fall of King Somber" she gasped and snatched up the book.
This might be exactly what I've been looking for, Twilight thought to herself. She opened the book and began to read. She became confused, then worried. Suddenly the door of the library slammed shut, and Twilight threw the book down and ran to hide. The only thing written in the book, was the same sentence over and over, it simply read I TOLD YOU NOT TO COME IN HERE TWILIGHT!
