Scritch scratch
The lavender mare looked around slowly, a dull thump throbbing in her head and a twinge of pain going through her skull with every movement of her head.
Scritch scratch
Her highlighted mane started to let loose some frizzy hairs which stood out sharply.
Scritch scratch
"Is somepony there?" Here voice was quiet and hoarse, as if her throat was as dry as a rock in the desert.
Scritch scratch
Her violet irises searched for the source of the noise, her ears pricked and her breathing quickened.
Scritch scratch
She concentrated and tried to make a spark with her horn, desperate to light up the endless darkness.
Scritch scratch
She puffed out her cheeks and her face turned a delicate shade of red. Her horn flared up for just a moment, illuminating the entire room.
Scritch scratch
Pain electrified through her body and her horn went out with a hiss.
Scritch scratch
A warm, thick and foul smelling substance splattered all over her face. But that wasn't what scared her.
Clop, clop, clop, clop
The flash had illuminated a figure standing in the corner, masked by the shadows of the night. It had wide blue eyes full of a crazy expression, a smile going from ear to ear and the most frightening expression of a psychotic killer anypony had ever seen before. It just sat there, watching the pale unicorn through those eyes.
Clop, clop, clop, clop
Twilight Sparkle wasn't alone.
Heavy breathing came from the foot of her bed and the clopping sound of hooves hitting the floor stopped. There was a creak as the thing placed hooves on her bed and blue irises came into sight. There was a maniacal glow to them and the pressure on the end of her bed left, but only slightly and the eyes vanished from sight, hidden by darkness once more.
Twilight curled up and hid under her sheets, her blanket falling off the bed. A silhouette of a head appeared through the thin covering. A flat mane, perked ears and the face build of a mare. The silhouette slid out of view, the sound of clopping and fur brushing against the floorboards and then silence.
The lavender unicorn felt some of the liquid on her face drip onto her bed as she lifted the sheets and looked around the room anxiously. Could it have been a hallucination her anxious mind had thought up? Could it have been a nightmare? Perspiration dripped from her forehead as she searched for the icy irises that lingered in her mind's eye.
Slowly, Twilight Sparkle pulled the sheets off her trembling body. She looked over the edge of the bed in case whatever she saw was lying there, but all she saw was her blanket lying in a matted heap on the floor. It felt like she was looking from the edge of the Grand Canyon, everything seemed so far away from the sliver of safety she had on her bed.
Twilight shook her head. "There's nothing to be afraid of, just pull it up and go back to bed. There's nothing there." She looked at the blanket, just laying there on the floor. Her tortured mind formed the image of it leaping up and suffocating her, the cold blue eyes glaring at her as her life slipped away in each breath and-
"Stop it Sparkle." She cursed herself. She slowly lifted one front hoof, placed it over the edge of the bed and hesitated. "I can go without my blanket for one night, I have my sheets." She shook her head. "There's nothing there Twilight." She gulped and lowered her hoof slowly. She was just above the crack of an endless black void which she called under her bed, when a sudden thump made her fall forwards and pull her hooves back up as she curled into a ball. She tried to levitate the blanket back to her bed, but pain made her uncurl and flop on her bed, splattering more of the mysterious substance.
The mare let her breathing slow and then reached down, a bit quicker this time. Her heart thumped in her chest and she hesitated just above the edge. As slowly as she could bear, she put her hoof in front of the yawning blackness, just above her blanket and reached a bit further, feeling the blunt of her hoof brush against the soft material of her blanket. She hesitated again before placing her hoof firmly on her blanket, feeling it sag under the added weight.
Something grabbed her hindleg and held her ankle firmly.
Twilight had been so concentrated on the thought of something grabbing her front hoof, she hadn't heard the sound of fur brushing against the floor under her bed or seen the hoof that rose from the other side. Now it held her hindleg firmly in its grip, not doing anything. That was the scariest thing of all.
The hoof was wet and warm, dripping all over her and slicking her fur. It ringed around her leg and dripped everywhere. It started dragging her back ever so slowly, pulling her leg under the bed.
The unicorn felt a warm release between her legs as her bladder emptied all over her bed. It took a moment for anything to happen, but when she did she screamed, a loud and high pitched wail of pure fright. She felt a sharp tug, her ankle burned with agony and she heard a snap before she felt herself being dragged from her bed. Her belly fur brushed against the warm and damp sheets and the stench filled her nose. She fell with a thump and held the edge of the bed, screaming her head off. She started crying, letting the rivers flow down her face.
The grip on her back leg loosened slightly. Twilight immediately tried to leap away, but something sharp sliced through her flesh and she scrambled away, feeling something thick and wet spill everywhere and slick her floor. She looked at her hoof and saw that there was a sharp metal blade with no handle embedded in it, pouring thick blood everywhere. She backed up against a wall. Something dripped onto her horn and it burned like fire.
The moon's light illuminated the room in a ghostly glow, revealing every horror in the room. She jumped to her hooves, screaming in agony when her injured leg touched the floor. The blade fell from her leg and she realized her ankle was broken. She limped backwards and pressed against her bed, panting for breath and feeling tears soak her face.
Something brushed passed her legs and the figure leaped into her field of sight. It was a grey-pink earth pony with a flat mane and eyes as blue and cold as ice. Blood was smeared on her mouth, her legs and her pelt. Her eyes twitched and a crazed smile was plastered on her face, revealing teeth stained pink with blood and some bright red fluid trickling from her front teeth.
Twilight Sparkle screamed more and then noticed what had dripped on her face. She leaped onto her bed, but something snapped shut on her front hoof. It was metal with no teeth, but it held a firm grip as she struggled, trying to escape the horror in her bedroom. Her body brushed against something cold, something with scales.
Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash were in the room, all four of them dead. Rainbow Dash's blood was all over Twilight's mane from where she was splayed out on the windowsill.
Fluttershy was hanging from the bookcase by a noose around her neck. Her back hooves brushed the ground and blood leaked from behind the rope.
Applejack was hanging over the rail, spreading scarlet liquid everywhere from her torn open throat. Her eyes were staring directly at Twilight in a frightening way.
Rarity was in front of the mirror, splashing the shined surface pale red with blood from a giant gash in her belly.
What stabbed her like a knife the most was Spike. She had brushed against his body when the thing had clamped down on her leg. His corpse was on the edge of her bed, pooling blood everywhere. His eyes stared into hers, blank and dead.
Twilight looked into the mirror and very well near fainted, her bladder emptying again and staining her sheets. She started crying her eyes out and screaming.
Her horn had been snapped off, leaving a jagged stump atop her head. Blood was drying all over her face, that was what the substance that had splashed on her was. Her right back hoof was just visible, pumping blood all over her now yellow sheets. She turned back to the pony who was torturing her and her eyes only saw the cold blue ones.
"My name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, welcome to hell."
The voice was like nails on a chalkboard, grating and rough with a high pitched screech. It was soft and ridden with venom, giving it the effect of a horror movie.
Twilight managed to get to her hooves, barely. She balanced on two of them, her bad leg hung limply and her foreleg was stretched downwards in the trap. "Pinkie...? Why would you do this?" She started sobbing. "I don't want to die."
Pinkamena's lips curved in a cruel smile and she raised the bloody blade in her hoof. "Don't think I forgave you. Just because you threw me a party doesn't mean I'll forgive you. You all lied to me, betrayed my trust. I felt so awful, so alone and so unloved. I thought you'd all left me, but that party made this cursed Pinkie Pie come out. Well look at me now Twi, Pinkie Pie isn't here right now. Pinkie Pie is gone, she's in my head. She stole me from the world, but now I'm coming back. First stop, killing you guys. Next stop, killing all those who hurt me." Her voice was soft, laced with a vicious hiss and purr. Her hoof raised higher and the bloody knife gleamed in the moonlight's eerie glow.
Twilight Sparkle screamed before the blade whistled down and plunged into her throat. The last thing she ever felt was the gooey noise the flaps of skin made as they opened and the sensation of falling back and hitting her bed before her body rapidly cooled and her corpse lay still as stone, eyes wide open with fright.
~~~
Pinkamena had cleared the mess, throwing the sheets beside the bed and leaving the mangled corpses where they were. She walked up to each of them, placing her hooves on their mouths and turning their lips up in a smile. She rose up from her position beside Rarity and looked at the corpses, their eyes wide and bright smiles on their frozen faces. She sat down on her haunches in the centre of the room and felt the puddle of blood stain her pink fur.
She smiled crazily to herself, her face twisted in the most frightening grin anypony could ever muster. Her eyes were full of the maniacal glow she had had earlier and she stood back up, her friends' blood dripping from her pelt. Pinkamena trotted to behind a bookcase, pulled out two objects and a slip of paper before turning to Fluttershy. Her shadow showed her holding something with one hoof, lifting the other and slamming something against Fluttershy. Blood splattered all over her, adding a fresh layer to her already slick pelt.
She got up and trotted down the stairs, her hooves staining them with blood. She slipped into hiding as a loud banging sounded from the door.
~~~
A Royal Guard bucked down the door. He ran inside and noticed the blood everywhere and Applejack's body hanging from the rail by a foreleg. His hooves splashed in the red fluid, the puddle too deep for it to dry and he ran up the stairs, his hooves smashing the crusty dried blood.
He took in the corpses on every surface. Rarity on her side near the mirror, Rainbow Dash spread out on the windowsill, Fluttershy hanging by the neck from the bookcase, Applejack slid from the rail and crashed to the floor, Twilight was up against Spike and the dragon was still leaking small trickles of blood onto the bed.
His hoof brushed the urine stained sheets on the floor and he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He trotted over to Fluttershy's dangling body and noticed there was a bloody hammer on the floor beneath her hooves and a note nailed to her stomach, the edges drenched with blood.
The message was scrawled in blood. It sent a shiver up the guard's spine and he backed away in horror when he noticed the facial expressions on the corpses.
Their eyes were wide open and huge smiles were plastered on their faces.
He ran out, the wind from his charge making the note flutter down the stairs. It landed on a small table and the bloody writing faced upwards, giving that horrifying message to whoever came in to see what had happened to the ponies and dragon inside. The door slammed shut behind him and cast the room in a shade of darkness as the sun rose.
A pink figure reached from the shadows and tapped the note, leaving a fresh blood stain from still damp hooves. It just remained there for a while, processing the thoughts of what had happened running through the murderer's mind. Her twisted grin gleamed in the shadows on the psychotic glow came to her eyes.
The note stayed there on that table, the blood print sticking it to the wood. The message dried on the paper, the horrible message that was one simple word, but sent a shiver down even the killer's spine. Her mouth opened and her terrible voice hissed out the message,
"Smile."
