A Fatefull Encounter

Our story begins with our hero outside the gates of Pony-ville,. He is in awe of the size of the city being from a land far away. He is troubled, and in a search for maybe his last hope for help. It is night, a few hours before dawn, there is a chill in the air. Our hero has come along way to Pony-ville in search of help for his affliction. He has traveled many miles, done many things he is not proud of. But his life was on the line so he had to make peace with his timid nature and forge on and at last, his goal is close at hand. Let us hope we are not to late

"Oh no, what am I going to do this place is enormous" he lamented. "But I have to find her, she'll know what to do, she just has to....just...has..."

Fumbling from pain or exhaustion, he searches his saddle bag for a spell book. Resolute, he removes his locator spells from his bag
"I was hoping I would find her before I had to do this again, but it can't be helped i must try". He said as he set the book on the ground
"It's a simple spell, maybe it won't be so bad". Wishful thinking.

He started the spell and the pink aura surrounded him as it searched for it's target. The familiar pain began immediately, making him wince
"Come on.....Just a little more..."

But it was to late, the spell extinguished the moment a heading was received and our hero fainted, with nothing to show for his efforts but a slight bloody nose. Unconscious he lay there. As if he was waiting, waiting for no-pony.

Several hours later, around mid morning, our hero is gently jostled out of his stupor by the kind hoof of a yellow mare with a pink main. It takes him several minutes to get his bearings
"Um...are you alright, I seen you lying there and I was so worried that..."

At the realization of what was going on our hero fled to a nearby bush, this startled the mare until she saw how the the bush was trembling with fear just as the injured pony was who used it as an escape
"Oh my" she said softly " I'm sorry I'm sorry I didn't mean to frighten you but you you looked hurt and in all good conscious I couldn't leave you here could I?"

Sensing that this mare meant him no harm, he slowly peeked his head out of the bush, trembling he manages to mutter.
"Wh..Who....Who are you, Where am I" asked our hero " Wait, I know where I am, just who are you? Am I in trouble?"
"Oh my no, It's just that you looked so terrible lying there I had to make sure you were okay" she said inching closer "My name is Fluttershy, are you alright?"

Our hero fully emerged from his hiding place, his suit is tattered, but that was normal, its been through a lot. His saddle bag was not any worse for ware, well no more worse. A slight trickle of blood from his last spell was still visable
"Oh no you look awful" exclaimed Fluttershy, as much as she could
"I'm so sorry miss" he said turning away with shame " I can't help the way I look, I was born this way, I'll just..."
"Oh no no no, I didn't mean it like that, I meant that your injured, Here let me take you to the hospital"
"While I'm flattered that a creature so beautiful would take pity on me, there is some-pony I need to find"
"Well.." she replied with a slight blush " Maybe I could help you find them. What do they look like?"
"To be honest, I'm not really sure, I've never met her before"
"Well you know its a her, that narrows it down, do you know her name?"
"Only what I know from the legends"
"Legends?" she perked her head inquisitively
"You don't know the legends of the mane six, the saviors of Equestria"
"Oh" she said a little giggle " Yes I've heard of them, which one where you looking for?"
"The one who was trained in magic by Celestia herself"\
"You mean Twilight?"
"You know her?" he said with an ecstatic grin
"Oh my yes, she is one of my best friends"
"Huh.. fitting a mare as kind and beautiful as you would keep such company"
"Well I could take you to her, If that okay"
"You would be seen with me?"
"Why wouldn't I?" she asked a little puzzled
"I'm not the most attractive or reputable a pony"
"Nonsense, I'm sure that she wouldn't mind either, just promise me one thing"
"Anything for my exquisite savior, should I walk a few lengths away from you?"
"Uhh... no that's fine" she said, puzzled again " No just be sure to get yourself checked out afterwords okay"
"You flatter me my dear, of course I will, Lead the way"
"Alright. well try to be careful in town, you may be more hurt then you think"
"I'll be fine,as long as your with me I'm sure no obstacle could detain us"
"Well all the same it would make me feel better if your careful"
"That is my most important duty right now, to make you feel better"
"Okay? well it's this way, I'll walk slow just in case"
"Thank you Miss Fluttershy, I am truly grateful"

At the end of chapter one we find our hero en route to the library with Fluttershy in search of a cure to the curse his magic has become.The targets of his magic were always filled with pleasure, for that was the usual side effect of his special talent, and now to bring this joy to others fills him with pain. Even simple spells like levitation cause him harm. Critiques and advice are appreciated for this is my first Fanfic. Hope you enjoy
